Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for September 5, 2024

The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose), JDC and Masha Slamovich head to the ring to start tonight's show. Eddie says everyone has wished for them to fail, but The System does not fail, as all they needed was "a nice little reboot," and with that accomplished, it is time for them to get back their championship gold. Brian Myers says that he and Eddie are contractually obligated for a championship rematch due to being the former tag team champions, and that they will use that clause at Victory Road and challenge ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) for the tag team titles. JDC tells everyone to shut up, as does Moose, who says that in two weeks, Nic Nemeth will face the guy that he never beat for the TNA World Championship, and at Victory Road, he has bad news for Nemeth, as he will become a four-time TNA World Champion. Moose then addresses JDC, saying he has a big night, because if they win against Joe Hendry and Mike Santana tonight, JDC will officially become a member of The System. However, if they lose tonight, JDC is out, and everyone knows what The System does to outsiders. Alisha says everyone is asking for rematches, and that he knows her rights as champion and does not have to defend more than once every 30 days, and that she is under concussion protocol and will have a suitable replacement if she is not cleared to wrestle. Spitfire (Dani Luna and Jody Threat) shows up, and while Dani Luna says that it was unfortunate what happened to Alisha, her team lost. Alisha says The System has two wins on Spitfire before telling Dani to go back to the dive bar she came from. Jody Threat says they have gotten another shot at Victory Road, but this time it is "do or die," and if Spitfire loses, they split up as a team. Alisha, seeing this as Spitfire doing her a favor, accepts the challenge.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Eric Young, who says that while Steve Maclin got one over on him, he has respect for him. As for Jake Something, they have history, and he will do what he has always done and represent himself and TNA.

KUSHIDA vs. Laredo Kid ends with "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander showing up and attacking both men, even putting KUSHIDA in an ankle lock. Afterwards, KUSHIDA wants Alexander in a match, and attacks Alexander on his way out and brings him back to the ring to make it happen.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats KUSHIDA. After the match, KUSHIDA is hurt and in need of medical attention, and as Joe Hendry checks on KUSHIDA, he notices and confronts Alexander, saying he will never forget what Alexander did to him. Alexander says "Good," and walks off.

Before the next match, Arianna Grace suddenly shows up and announces that she has some exciting news: she is the official liaison between WWE and NXT and the one to make sure everything runs smoothly during this collaboration, then introduces Jordynne's challenge: Karmen Petrovic.

Jordynne Grace retains the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Karmen Petrovic. After the match, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Jordynne has been laid out and a pillow is on the mat next to her. Rosemary laughs as she watches from above, and it is obvious that Wendy Choo has attacked Jordynne.

We hear from ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey). They brag about how The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) lost to them at Emergence, then Fir$t Cla$$ (AJ Francis and KC Navarro) show up and say ABC should be focused on them. Ace Austin says they have beaten them already, and Chris Bey says that if they want to run it back, they can do it next week.

We see a vignette for a female Chinese pro wrestler.

Zachary Wentz heads to the ring. Zachary talks about how he was at one of the lowest points in his life two weeks ago, but because of the fans' support, he was able to pick himself up, come back and reach the highest of the highs to become X Division Champion. "Speedball" Mike Bailey shows up and congratulates Wentz, saying that the championship meant that he was the best of the best, which is now Wentz, and that Wentz will have to continue to prove that when he exercises his rematch clause at Victory Road. Suddenly, The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) show up, and John Skyler says that Jason Hotch was "the real star of Ultimate X" and that they were robbed of the X Division title. As Skyler distracts Bailey and Wentz, Hotch attacks Bailey and Wentz from behind. All of a sudden, the brawl turns into an official match as per Director of Authority Santino Marella.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey and Zachary Wentz beat The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch). After the match, "Speedball" Mike Bailey takes the X Division Championship and personally hands it to Wentz before raising his hand.

Backstage, Steph de Lander has to lock PCO in a room on the way to the ring.

We hear from Rosemary, who lights candles as they say that they can hear The Hive again. Suddenly, Wendy Choo shows up and blows the candle out, although she can barely be seen.

Steph de Lancer heads to the ring and says that Matt Cardona has caused her a lot of issues as of late with both her and PCO, then calls Cardona out, saying they need to talk. Cardona shows up and heads to the ring, and Steph wants to know what is going on, as they used to be best friends and tag partners. Cardona says he has been missing in action for a while and that he owes her an apology. Cardona says that he is sorry that he did not crash the wedding earlier, let Steph marry PCO, and let Steph embarrass the both of them in front of the entire world. Steph tells Cardona she will not take the disrespect and says that Cardona does not own her, but Cardona produces a contract that they both signed March 13, 2023 when he found her in Australia and promised to change her career. Cardona then claims that he has done just that, then says he has held up his end of the contract and that it is Steph's turn, saying she is his property and that he owns her. Steph admits Cardona helped her, but she helped herself as well and put in the work, and that she is a superstar with or without him and that their contract means nothing to her. Cardona states that both of their lawyers as well as TNA all have a copy of the contract and that Steph will do as he tells her. As Cardona corners Steph, PCO shows up, and Cardona uses Steph as a shield before fleeing.

We hear from The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) backstage. Jeff says that they must win next week, and Matt agrees, as they are multiple-time tag team champions and they plan to make a statement and delete The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers). Matt says that he is tired of being referred to in the past tense and that they plan to become champions again and prove they are the greatest of all time.

Eric Young beats Jake Something. After the match, Jake Something attacks Eric Young from behind and hits him with Into The Void. All of a sudden, Steve Maclin shows up to make the save for Eric Young when Jake Something tries to pick Eric Young up.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Joe Hendry, who says that coming up short when it comes to championship gold is an all-too-common occurrence, but his momentum cannot be denied and he makes TNA and NXT the place to be. He then says he has a championship to chase.

It is announced that Heather Reckless has been signed to TNA and that she will face "The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw in her debut match next week.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Heather Reckless, who says that she will show the world and the Knockouts Division why her name is Heather Reckless. Ash By Elegance and George Iceman show and disrupt the interview, and Iceman says that she could learn a lot from Ash. Ash agrees. Suddenly, Gisele Shaw shows up and tells them to show some respect, as it is what the division has been built on. Ash asks Gisele what she has done for TNA, and Gisele threatens to knock one of Ash's teeth out. Ash says she would love to see Gisele try, and Shaw slaps Ash in the face and leaves. All the while, Heather cannot believe what she is seeing.

Before the next match, Joe Hendry - who now has his own custom microphone cube - says that he knows The System will attack him from behind, and says The System should be the ones spinning around. Suddenly, Mike Santana is in the ring, and he and Hendry get the better of JDC and Moose. All of a sudden, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander shows up and guests on commentary.

The System (Moose and JDC) beat Joe Hendry and Mike Santana after Joe Hendry confronts "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander only for Alexander to hit him with a low blow. This gives Moose and JDC a breather, allowing Moose to hit Santana with a Spear for the win. As per pre-match stipulation, JDC is now a full-fledged member of The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose).

Backstage, "The Walking Weapon" Nic Nemeth has seen the previous match, and says that all Moose had to do was look him in the eye and say he wanted to fight him. Now that he is world champion and that Moose could not be a man, they will go toe-to-toe at Victory Road and he will beat him.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
