Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 21, 2025

The Culling (Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, Izzi Dame, Tatum Paxley) head to the ring to start tonight's show. Tatum Paxley talks about how she outlasted nineteen other women for a shot at the NXT Women's Championship and how it has been four years since she was at her lowest point, then thanks the fans for being there all this time. She says that she is now in her first premium live event and that she has The Culling at her side, and states that Izzi Dame has been her friend when the rest of the women's division tried to use her. Tatum says she will bring championship gold to The Culling. Suddenly, Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid) shows up, and Jacy Jayne tells Tatum that she does not stand a chance on Saturday, and while Tatum has The Culling and the fans on her side, everyone is thinking that Tatum has no shot at beating her. Jacy says that she started her reign as "the most beatable champion," but she has drilled it into everyone's heads that she is unbeatable. She then tells Tatum is "barely even average," and that Izzi actually had a shot at being #1 contender. Tatum says she can tell that Jacy is trying to drive a wedge between her and Izzi, and while Jacy debuted as part of one of the biggest factions in NXT, she trained for years to get to this moment, and now is her time. As Fallon says that it will be that much sweeter when Jacy beats Tatum, Izzi says The Culling is stronger than ever, and they will accept The Culling for who she is. Jacy says she used to think highly of Izzi, and says Izzi has been more of a babysitter than a leader. Tatum says Izzi always has her back while Fatal Influence only has each others' back when it is convenient, but Fallon says Fatal Influence is ready to step. Jacy tells Tatum to be careful what she wishes for, then both teams brawl and Jacy is quickly on her own. Fallon and Lainey have to pull Jacy out of the ring in order to save her.

Backstage, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo talks with Arianna Grace regarding Total Nontstop Action Director of Authority. After the match, Je'Von and Slater propose that they team up for a match at Halloween Havoc, and as they welcome all comers to the challenge, Mr. Iguana and La Parka show up. Mr. Iguana says they have spoken to General Manager Ava, who has had the same idea, and that their match is on for Halloween Havoc.

Kelani thinks Jordynne is trying to get herself a shot at the TNA Knockouts Championship.

We hear from DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin), who brag about laying The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) out backstage. They say they are "the here and now" and that they will take back the NXT tag titles when The Hardys take over their vignette. The Hardys tell DarkState that they are more naive than they realize and that they have been through it all, and that it will take more to bring them down. They both enter the Lake of Reincarnation, and "Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero come out as Reby Hardy plays piano. They then challenge DarkState to a tag team title rematch in a Broken Rules Match.

Backstage, Sol Ruca - using a cane - and Zaria head to the ring. Zaria asks Sol Ruca if she wants to make the announcement that she is going to make in the ring, and Sol Ruca says she has to.

Sol Ruca, Zaria and General Manager Ava are in the ring. Sol Ruca says that she got injured on SmackDown, then says that she blames no one and that injuries are part of the game. She announces that she is not medically cleared to defend the North American Women's Championship and does not know when she will be cleared again. She says she does not want to hold up the women's division and that she will earn the title back, then Blake Monroe shows up and says she was #1 contender for the title and that she should be champion. Zaria tells Ava not to take anything Blake says into consideration, then tells Blake that there are no handouts in NXT. Zaria then makes the decision to take Sol Ruca's place and defend the title in her honor. Ava admits this is unconventional, but a great idea, and leaves the choice up to Sol Ruca. Sol says she fought so hard for the title, but there is no one she trusts more than Zaria, and she says yes. Blake Monroe vs. Zaria for the NXT North American Women's Champion. Blake gets angry with Ava, and Zaria hits Blake with an F-5.

We hear from Axiom, who says that no one knows speed like he does and that while he is impressed with "Super" Sean Legacy, it will be a whole new level of speed when they are in the ring. We then hear from Sean Legacy, who considers Axiom a great competitor before stating that he likes his chances of making the WWE Speed Championship "super."

We see a video from "NXT Anonymous" where Myles Borne and Tavion Heights are frustrated with coming up short when Josh Briggs shows up and brags about beating Matt Cardona before stating there is only room for one at a top, and it is him.

Axiom beats "Super" Sean Legacy with three seconds left to advance in the WWE Speed Championship Tournament. Los Americanos (Rayo and Bravo) are seen in the crowd again at the start of the match.

We hear from "All Ego" Ethan Page, who says that El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. may be fighting to defend the honor of his past, but championship gold is also on the line. He says that El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.'s father could not touch him in his prime, and that El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. will be left for dead.

OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) beat Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. After the match, Bronco Nima goes on the attack with the ring steps as Lucien Price clears off the announce table so the both of them can put Tank Ledger through it.

Wren Sinclair is on the phone with Charlie Dempsey when Lash Legend shows up. Lash is not interested in Wren's attempt to give No Quarter Catch Crew "a more feminine flair." Kendal Grey shows up and does not take kindly to Lash talking down to Wren, and Lash Legend tells Kendal Grey she had better watch it.

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne and Lainey Reid) beat The Culling (Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley). After the match, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid continue to attack Izzi, and they and Jacy are about to gang up on Tatum when Tatum suddenly fights back and takes them all down herself.

General Manager Ava is in the ring to oversee the contract signing for Trick Williams vs. Ricky Saints for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc, with security standing at the ring apron and a no-contact order in effect. Trick Williams makes his way to the ring first, followed by Ricky Saints. Trick says he does things on his own time and that he waits for his moment and his spotlight, and that while Saints is the champion, he is still the main event. He says he left Saints hanging at Showdown to prove that he is the one who can put NXT on his back. Trick says that he owes NXT and Total Nonstop Action nothing and that he is loyal only to himself, then says he will become a three-time NXT Champion before signing the contract. Saints admits he is an emotional man and that he knows who he is, but questions if the same can be said about Trick, as the NXT Championship can make one lazy or ambitious, and while he became more ambitious, Trick lost the plot. As Saints says that Trick was ready to leave NXT, Trick says that Saints was grinding on the indies, where he says he himself does not belong. Saints signs the contract as Trick says he says a cosplayer and a future stunt double when he looks at him. Trick says nobody can replace him and that Saints will be his stand-in at best, and says that at Halloween Havoc, "The Absolute Era" will be over. Saints says Trick would have folded like the shirt he is wearing on the indies, then says that Saints is his house. He then says that he is locked in while Trick will be locked out. Both men have a verbal confrontation that soon gets physical when Trick sucker punches Saints. Saints soon grabs Trick and puts him through the table.

Deaner says he had a lot of doubters, but TNA gave him a chance, and if this is his last time in a TNA ring, he does not feel like a loser, because he feels like a winner because of the fans. Suddenly, Santino shows up and admits he is getting choked up, then announces that he can provide an extension to Under Siege, which is right down the road from his hometown. Mustafa says an honor has been bestowed upon him and that he has been walking a path to greatness since he became X Division Champion, and he plans to make the X Division great again. He says that he is creating equal opportunity for all as X Division Championship despite how he has won matches and tried to place limits on the X Division when it came to Jake Something, and that his multi-man match was not a loss because he withdrew from the match. Mustafa says he cannot wait to defend his title in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois for Against All Odds. Campaign Singh stops the interview when Mustafa Ali is accused of ducking "Speedball" Mike Bailey.

In a digital exclusive from earlier this week, The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose) meet. Eddie Edwards says he has been in the Hardy Compound before and that he has a bad feeling about this, as does Alisha and Brian Myers, but Moose is undeterred as he leaves. Masha Slamovich shows up and tries to Alisha, but Alisha is not in the mood and leaves with the rest of The System. The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) shows up and makes fun of the fact that Masha and Alisha are not getting along, but Masha has a response for that.

Marti Belle beats Masha Slamovich with a schoolkid pin with additional leverage from the outside by Allysin Kay.

Gia Miller interviews Fir$t Cla$$ (AJ Francis and Rich Swann) on the stage. AJ Francis still has PCO's black rose in his hand as he says that friends are supposed to have one's back and brags about being Digital Media Champion. When the black rose is addressed, Francis says his DM's are open and that the rose is from "a fellow admirer backstage." The lights go out, and when they come back on, PCO is behind everyone. Dani Luna beats Tasha Steelz.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Joe Hendry. Joe says The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose) beat him down last week, but he is known for humility, and if he wants to shatter the glass ceiling, then he must learn another thing or two. He then says that he has found someone who can make him among the best in the world and brings out Ace Steel, who says that he seen Joe Hendry's talent and that he knows what to do to get Hendry to another level and break the grass ceiling. Frankie Kazarian shows up and confronts Hendry for stealing his thunder, but Hendry reminds him that he lost last week. Kazarian says that Ace and Hendry do not have what it takes, as kings are born, not made. Ace tells Kazarian to put his money where his mouth is against Joe Hendry at Against All Odds. Kazarian accepts the challenge, but says that if Hendry is to hit him, then he must kill him.

The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose) arrives at the Hardy Compound, and Eddie Edwards tells The System that they should enter from the back.

At the Hardy Compound, The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose) are met by "Broken" Matt Hardy at the back. Matt says he wanted The System to meet the family, and Moose says he only cares about beating Matt up in front of his family. Matt warns Moose not to step forward or else he will set off a trap. It is too late, and fireworks shoot out of the compound at The System. The System is scattered, Brian Myers then ends up in another room where he finds a Matt Hardy action figure. He then ends up in the compound's Starcade, where he finds another action figure. Someone scampers across the arcade from behind Myers, who then finds yet another Matt Hardy action figure as well as a Matt Hardy cardboard standee, where he soon meets Maxel. Myers then ends up in the shed, where he is surrounded by skeletons and ghosts of Myers' past, then finds another before finding out that a skeleton that looks like Edge is moving. He gets Speared by the skeleton, then attacked by Maxel with a leg drop off a lader. Alisha explores the house, and she soon encounters Reby Sky and her daughter Eevee. Alisha is not happy to meet Reby, and wants to leave. Eevee is upset and refuses to get out of her way, and she sends a storm of black confetti at her. Moose is outside, and he is soon met by Bartholomew, who leads him to Matt Hardy. Moose soon finds Matt Hardy's childhood home, and as Senor Benjamin is watching past footage, Moose is soon met by Matt Hardy, who knocks him out from behind and pushes him around in a wheelchair. Alisha soon finds herself under the blade of a guillotine, and Reby Sky lowers the blade and decapitates Alisha. Matt Hardy throws Moose into the Lake of Reincarnation, and when Moose comes out, he comes back as a football player. Matt says he has brought Moose back to his best form ever, and that he wants Moose at his best at Against All Odds. Moose says he will not make it to Against All Odds, but Vanguard 1 shows up and distracts Moose so Matt can hit the Twist of Fate. All of a sudden, The System ends up at the front gate of the Hardy Compound unharmed. Moose threatens to kill Matt Hardy at Against All Odds.

She then says that despite the outcome, she still makes history as a champion and that is not changing any time soon. Jordynne then says that after challenging for the WWE NXT Women's Championship, she will return the favor, and issues an open challenge to any woman from any wrestling company who thinks they are better than her to face her for the Knockouts World Championship at Against All Odds. She then says that no matter who she faces, nothing can stop the Juggernaut.

He also says that Kenny King and Sheldon Jean were not watching the main event while surrounded by women in the bar and that King was once the guy who would ask for advice from veterans like him who paved the way for them to be in the ring. Kenny King says he could care less and that he is in the position where Tommy Dreamer once stood, and says he would be in his spot if Dreamer would step aside. Dreamer says Kenny always takes shortcuts and settles because he has never been in the main event. He also says he has turned down millions of dollars from other companies because he always believed and listened to every veteran he could to get to where he is now, and if Kenny King wants to knock the veterans, then he will have to knock them out to get that spot. He says that he could do something for Kenny King, who says that Dreamer does not have a thing that he wants, after losing his mother, being diagnosed with skin cancer and losing Terry Funk in the span of three months, and challenges him to a title vs. career match.

It is announced that Awesome Kong will return at IMPACT 1000, then we hear from Gail Kim, who says that if Kong is coming back, so is she. After calling Awesome Kong her greatest partner she challenges all Knockouts past and present to stand with or against them at IMPACT 1000.
