Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for May 1, 2025

Joe Hendry heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Hendry says that he is living the dream right now after winning at Unbreakable, wrestling Randy Orton at WrestleMania and retaining the TNA World Championship at Rebellion. He credits it all to the fans believing in him before addressing Trick Williams attacking him as his back was turned post-match at Rebellion and how he headed to NXT only to be jumped by DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin). He then says that TNA has the best locker room if DarkState wants to show up, then calls out Trick Williams again. This time around, Trick Williams shows up, but on the video screen, not on the stage. Trick says he is not in the building and is preparing for the 25-man battle royal on NXT next week, then mentions Hendry's match tonight and wishes him the best of luck, saying he will see him soon. Hendry admits he expected better from Trick, then says the show must go on and that the main event tonight will be fantastic as he and The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) take on The Nemeths ("The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth) and Frankie Kazarian.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz). Wentz looks forward to facing Moose for the X Division Championship tonight after he and Trey won at Rebellion with help from Sean Waltman. He says he pinned Moose that night and that he will pin him again.

Backstage, Sami Callihan meets with Director of Authority Santino Marella, who brings in Steph de Lander and Mance Warner. Steph takes issue with Sami with injuring Mance Warner and costing her money, but Sami says he missed Rebellion, too. He then says that nobody can take his and Warner's violent match away from them, then says he will shake his hand. Warner agrees, saying they earned the most violent match TNA has had in a long time, then shakes his hand. Sami tells Warner that they are done for now, then both parties leave.

Mike Santana beats Isaiah Moore. After the match, Santana talks about how he climbed the mountain and beat Mustafa Ali at Rebellion, and says that the top of one mountain is the bottom of another. He says this brings him to one man - Joe Hendry - and gives Hendry respect for holding it down for TNA before saying Hendry has something he wants and needs and that he will be climbing the mountain to become TNA World Champion.

Steve Maclin heads to the ring when he is suddenly attacked by The Northern Armory (Eric Young, Judas Icarus, Travis Williams). Eric Young chokes and beats Maclin with a chain, and when the brawl gets in the ring, Maclin briefly fights back before the numbers game catches up to him. Maclin is then tied to the ropes with the chain as he is simultaneously choked with it, and the attack stops when security shows up.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella confronts The Northern Armory (Eric Young, Judas Icarus, Travis Williams) for their attack of Steve Maclin, who shows up while being held back by security. Santino makes a match between Eric Young and Steve Maclin for next week.

Moose retains the TNA X Division Championship against Zachary Wentz after Alisha Edwards grabs at Wentz from the outside, allowing Moose to hit the Spear to win and retain.

It is announced that Joe Hendry still has a shoulder injury, but is still medically cleared. Meanwhile, Leon Slater is not injured following the Ultimate X Match at Rebellion. Mustafa Ali suffered minor bruising at Rebellion, but is cleared. Unfortunately, Tasha Steelz is out following an upper body injury after going through a table during Mustafa's match.

We see Zachary Wentz being treated in the BioFlex Recovery Room.

Backstage, Mustafa Ali walks out in a zombie-like state as Gia Miller goes for an interview. John Skyler states that Mustafa has not been the same since Rebellion and that nobody knows what he is capable of. He says that in order to create something great, one must destroy everything, and that Mustafa plans to do just that.

Cody Deaner heads to the ring. Deaner announces that his contract with TNA is expiring at midnight tonight. He thanks Director of Authority Santino Marella for giving him the time to thank the fans one last time. He says that he has not been able to secure a contract due to not winning in over a year, then talks about how he grew up in a small town of less than 200 people and wanted him to become a professional wrestler. He says that after a 25-year career, he is not just a a proud professional wrestler, but a proud husband and father of four. Deaner says he had a lot of doubters, but TNA gave him a chance, and if this is his last time in a TNA ring, he does not feel like a loser, because he feels like a winner because of the fans. Suddenly, Santino shows up and admits he is getting choked up, then announces that he can provide an extension to Under Siege, which is right down the road from his hometown. If Deaner can beat Eddie Edwards that night, he can have a case for a renewed contract. Suddenly, Robert Stone and Victoria Crawford (fka Alicia Fox) show up, and Mr. Stone declares Santino "under review." Robert Stone says TNA needs a real leader with a real vision and that he is that person, then says the higher-ups have hired him to watch Santino's every move. He also says Victoria Crawford will be his deputy to help him out. He announces that Victoria has a TNA Knockouts World Championship match with Masha Slamovich, and when Victoria wins, TNA will have a champion to be proud of. Robert Stone says he will be watching Santino "very, very closely," then wishes Santino luck.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella and NXT-TNA Liaison Arianna Grace confront Robert Stone and Victoria Crawford. Tessa Blanchard shows up and complains about Santino, and sides with Robert Stone before stating that she is above everyone else. Stone asks Tessa Blanchard to meet with him and Victoria.

Chris Van Vliet is seen in the crowd.

Jody Threat beats Maggie Lee.

Backstage, personal concierge George Iceman, Ash by Elegance and Heather by Elegance take Maggie Lee aside for a makeover.

Gia Miller interviews Indi Hartwell on the stage. Indi thanks the fans who have supported her journey over the past few years and for the support over the past few days, and after growing up watching TNA late nights in Australia watching the Knockouts deliver, she is proud to be a TNA Knockout. Indi says she has not only plans, but history with a lot of the Knockouts, and that she is not here to be another woman on the roster and that things are about to be shaken up now that she has crossed the line.

Leon Slater beats KC Navarro. During the match, AJ Francis gets ejected for grabbing at Leon Slater as he climbs to the top turnbuckle.

We hear from Masha Slamovich, who says that Victoria Crawford has done nothing in the last couple of years but wants a shot at her title. She says that is fine with her, as Victoria is not ready to be in the ring with an actor of her caliber.

The Nemeths ("The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth) and Frankie Kazarian beat The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Joe Hendry in a six-man tag match after Trick Williams shows up and attacks Joe Hendry on the outside. After the match, Trick hits Hendry with a Trick Shot.

Laredo Kid (now known as just "Laredo") beats Jason Hotch.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Leon Slater. Leon Slater looks forward to making history as the youngest X Division Champion of all time at Unbreakable, but first, he has to beat Brian Myers after how Myers used a ring to knock him out for the win. Slater says that he is a different animal and that he will beat the razz out of Myers before becoming X Division Champion later tonight.

Backstage, Cody Deaner talks with Director of Authority Santino Marella regarding his contract. Santino says he will be working on it this week, but reminds him that he has not won in a while and that the Board of Directors is focused on that. When Cody mentions his near-win against Moose for the X Division Championship, Santino puts him in a match against KC Navarro, and if Deaner wins, he will qualify for Ultimate X at Rebellion.

Xia Brookside beats Jazmyn Nyx with an inside cradle. During the match, Fallon Henley distracts the referee only for Lei Ying Lee to confront Fallon. Jacy Jayne then distracts Brookside, but Rosemary shows up and spits green mist into Jacy's face. Jazmyn tries to take advantage, but Brookside gets the win with an inside cradle.

Before the next match, Cody Deaner proclaims that he is not just fighting for the fans, but his job, and says that his contract expires on May 1st. To keep his job, he must win tonight. He says that he has the fans on his side and that he can beat KC Navarro, then Navarro takes the microphone and tells Deaner that he has not won a match in over a year and that the fans really want to see him in Ultimate X. KC Navarro then offers $500 to Cody Deaner to leave, but Deaner leaves that choice up to the fans, who want Deaner to beat Navarro. Deaner then hits Navarro with several right hands, all worth $500 each.

KC Navarro beats Cody Deaner to qualify for the Ultimate X Match at Rebellion after wrapping a chain around his fist and knocking Deaner out with it. (He also gets his $500 back.)

Before the next match, the personal concierge George Iceman announces that Ash by Elegance is on vacation, then announces that he is working on a new project before introducing Maggie Lee. Iceman says that Maggie is not elegant, sophisticated or posh, and that there will be some work to do, then introduces Maggie's tag tea partner, Heather by Elegance.

Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley beats Maggie Lee and Heather by Elegance after Heather inadvertently collides with Maggie.

Backstage, personal concierge George Iceman and Heather by Elegance are concerned about their loss when Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson show up wanting a shot at the Knockouts Tag Team titles. Spitfire (Jody Threat and Dani Luna) show up and mention their rematch clause, then Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley show up stating that they just pinned Heather. Heather freaks out and accepts everyone's challenge to a four-way tag team title match. All the while, Maggie cannot believe what is going on.

We look back at the original Unbreakable pay-per-view from 2005.

We hear from AJ Francis, who says that he will become the very first TNA International Champion as he is out buying property in the seedy side of Las Vegas, Nevada.

We hear from Joe Hendry and Masha Slamovich. Hendry says their titles may not be on the line, but the motivation to be the best they can be is the same, and they will not relinquish them to Tessa Blanchard and Frankie Kazarian. He may not be 100%, but he will prove they are unbreakable . Masha says Tessa is trying to do more than break her; she is trying to take everything from her after spitting on the place that built her. She says Tessa has done everything to get under her skin and it worked, but she made the mistake of thinking making her angry makes her break. She says she does not want to beat Tessa; she wants to break her. Hendry says their grasp on their titles is unbreakable.

Dani Luna beats Jakara Jackson.

Elijah is in the ring for a concert. He says that "In TNA, we walk this way," then mocks Frankie Kazarian and "All Ego" Ethan Page while also referencing his friendship with Joe Hendry in his lone musical number. He then announces that at Rebellion, he will issue an open challenge to anyone from anywhere who wants to face him. He then thanks the fans.

Backstage, we hear from "All Ego" Ethan Page, who says that he only has to worry about Rebellion, then asks why Joe Hendry is making "so many silly decisions" before defending the TNA World Championship against him. He wants to know how Hendry's shoulder will be after tonight when Frankie Kazarian gets his hands on him, then says that he has already beaten Hendry at 100% before wishing Kazarian luck as he enjoys the show.

Brian Myers beats Leon Slater after rummaging around in his jacket to look for his ring. Slater keeps him from using it, but Myers hits him with the Roster Cut anyway.
