Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for July 17, 2021

We see The Skimahorns (Brad Skimahorn, Briar Skimahorn, Uncle Mikey) relaxing like champions at a local park. Uncle Mikey says that next week, The Skimahorns will prove that they can wrestle like champions.



"The Gun Show" Brett Michaels beats The Revenant of Walker Hayes.



The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) beat The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) to become #1 contenders for the Memphis Tag Team Championships.



Dustin "Five" Starr interviews King Cobra and Connor at the announce table. King Cobra says that he has been working with Connor, who has "the heart of a lion and the smarts of a fox," and says that things will be different against a bigger man. After Connor says that he looks forward to taking on Austin Lane, Austin Lane shows up. King Cobra says next time will be a different ouctome, and Connor says he is here to take on the best. Austin Lane asks King Cobra if Connor - who he admits has not been here long - is ready. King Cobra says he is ready, and so does Connor. Austin Lane says that if King Cobra says Connor is ready, he will give him another shot. Austin Lane says that while he respects King Cobra, the ring is his house, and he tells Connor to lace up next week, because he is prepared to hurt him.



Before the next match, Alan Steel - who now has the Memphis Heritage Championship back in his possession - finds out that Johnny Dotson has been barred from the building and becomes livid. As Alan Steel says that the deck has been stacked against him and Dotson since day one, Action Jackson shows up. Action Jackson says Alan Steel doesn't have Dotson to help him cheat, and when Steel says this is his only shot, Jackson says he will take advantage of it. Action Jackson says Alan Steel doesn't have Dotson to help him cheat, and when Steel says this is his only shot, Jackson says he will take advantage of it. Jackson then hits Alan Steel in the face and briefly beats him up before getting him in the ring to start the match.

Alan Steel retains the Memphis Heritage Championship against Action Jackson after nearly whipping Action Jackson into the referee, allowing Steel to hit a low blow as the referee is still looking back hoping not to get hurt.



We see a video package about the Gauntlet For The Gold for the Memphis Women's Championship.



"Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane beats Queen Katelynn, Claudia Solis, Lil Bit, Paris Kelly, Diana Taylor and Rebel Kel to win the Gauntlet For The Gold and become the inaugural Memphis Women's Champion! During the match, Eric McMahon enters the ring and produces a restraining order that keeps Diana Taylor from being anywhere near him or Paris Kelly. Diana Taylor hits Eric McMahon with a DDT, and Eric McMahon and Paris Kelly head to the back, eliminating Paris Kelly from the gauntlet match by count-out. After the match, Rebel Kel, Diana Taylor and Claudia Solis clap for Nikki Lane at ringside.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for July 10, 2021

KWAM 900 AM radio show host Tim Van Horn guests on commentary this week.

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels heads to the announce table with a baseball bat in his hands. Michaels says that he wants a piece of The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) today, and if more than one member shows up, he will bring the bat.



Eric McMahon and Paris Kelly head to the announce table. Eric McMahon mentions that Paris Kelly was not tagged in last week, and says that he and Paris are here to see the action close-up. As Eric McMahon says that the Memphis Women's Championship is coming home to him and Paris Kelly, Paris is attacked by Diana Taylor, and Diana Taylor has to be separated from Paris and sent to the back. After the commercial break, Diana - now with a black eye - says it is amazing that it has come to this, and that she wants Paris Kelly in the Gauntlet for the Gold for the Memphis Women's Championship next week.



Rebel Kel beats Queen Katelynn. After the match, Rebel Kel says she is grateful to be here from Seattle, Washington and that she is here to win the Memphis Women's Championship when "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane shows up. Nikki Lane says that she appreciates Kel having her back, but she has been here since day one and that there can only be one Memphis Women's Champion. Nikki and Kel shake hands, and Kel says "May the best woman win."





We hear from Johnny Dotson and Alan Steel. Dotson says he is tired of Action Jackson sticking his nose in their business and that Steel will prove he is the man. Steel says that Jackson is one of the few people to get under his skin, and that has cost him and Dotson matches and ticked him off. He says that Memphis is where he and Dotson rule the roost and that the locker room is full of comedians. He says that he and Dotson are old-school and are here to beat people up, and that he and Dotson will be the ones laughing, with Dotson saying that they who laugh last laugh the loudest. Afterwards, Dotson and Steel count down from three, and it is revealed that Simon of The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) has been attacked, and it is implied that Steel and Dotson did it.



Norman Meklakov and Ken Dang are at the announce table. Meklakov and Ken Dang want "Big Swole" Justin Cole and Mike Anthony in a tag team match to see if they can stand up to "The Allied Empire." Cole and Anthony accept the challenge.



"Big Swole" Justin Cole and Mike Anthony beat The Allied Empire (Norman Meklakov and Ken Dang). After the match, Anthony holds up Justin Cole's American flag when his hand is raised. Cole says that he Anthony make a good team, but Anthony says it is not about the team for him and that he wants the Heritage Championship. Cole says he wants the Heritage Championship, too.





Action Jackson heads to the announce table. Jackson talks about how he was trained by the best in Dustin Starr and how he is going to represent Memphis when he wins the Memphis Heritage championship.

We see footage from earlier this week of Connor training with King Cobra in the WrestleCenter.



Jay Smooth beats Chris Lexx after Smooth's new manager grabs Lexx's leg as Smooth goes for a pinfall. During the match, Danny B. Good asks Dustin Starr for some interview time, but has to wait until next week to get it, and Tim Van Horn shows interesting in doing an announce table interview .



Tim Van Horn interviews The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) . Jimmy Blaylock says that "The GunShow" Brett Michaels acts like a three-year-old kid throwing a tantrum and makes it clear he does not like him. As Blaylock continues to speak, Jacksyn Crowley acts strangely, and Blaylock has to give him his medicine. The Hollywood Horror Show then goes to the ring.



The Revenant of Walker Hayes beats Colton Cage. After the match, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock wants "The GunShow" Brett Michaels right here, right now upon hearing that Michaels wants to challenge The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes).



The Skimahorns (Brad Skimahorn, Briar Skimahorn, Uncle Mikey) go clothes shopping at Suits "U" in order to dress like champions. They settle on T-shirts that look like a suit jacket.



"The GunShow" Brett Michaels vs. The Hollywood Horror Show (Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) ends when The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) show up to even the numbers.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for July 3, 2021

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels beats Van Viciouss. After the match, Brett Michaels says he is back and he is not going anywhere, and after what The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) pulled on him, he has put a target on all of them and that he will take them out regardless of how many of them he has to take out at once.





Austin Lane heads to the announce table. He says that the Best of the Best Challenge has brought the best and toughest challengers, then says that he has proven that he is the best of the best every time before declaring the challenge again. The challenge is answered by Connor.

Austin Lane beats Connor in a Best of the Best Challenge. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Connor, who says that Austin Lane is the best of the best for a reason and that he wants to compete with the best of the best. Suddenly, King Cobra shows up and shakes Connor's hand. King Cobra says that Connor is doing a good job, but needs a little more polish and says that he could be a big star one day. King Cobra then offers to take Connor under his wing, and Connor accepts.





It is announced that the first Memphis Women's Champion will be crowned in two weeks.

Eric McMahon and Paris Kelly head to the announce table. Eric says he and Paris Kelly have taken out Diana Taylor, and that they are now focused on the Memphis Women's Championship. When asked if she is ready to get back in the ring for the first time since her injury, Paris Kelly says "Yes...and that's all I've got to say." Suddenly, Rebel Kel, "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane, and Claudia Solis show up, and Kel and Claudia say they are ready. Nikki says that she is ready for some six-woman tag team action.



"Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane, Rebel Kel and Claudia Solis beat Paris Kelly, Lil Bit and "The Queen of the Gulf Coast" Katelynn Black in a six-woman tag team action.



In footage from earlier today, Alan Steel leaves his bag on the ring apron when someone gets his attention, and The Posse (Simon and Lil' Chris) swap the Memphis Heritage Championship with a fake children's title belt.



Alan Steel heads to the announce table with the tiny children's title belt in his hand. Steel accuses the crowd, Dustin Starr and Action Jackson of being in on the joke. He tells Dustin Starr to give this to Action Jackson, saying it will be the closest he will ever get to being champion. When Dustin Starr announces that Alan Steel will defend the Memphis Heritage Championship against Action Jackson in two weeks, Alan Steel says Action Jackson will step in the ring with the real deal for his first and only title shot. Alan Steel says that Action Jackson will enter a challenger and leave a victim.



Backstage, "Big Swole" Justin Cole asks Mike Anthony if he has his back today. Mike Anthony tells Justin Cole that he didn't have it the last time, and that he was there only to make a statement.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats Meklakov after Mike Anthony shows up and yanks Ken Dang off the apron and beats him up.



Backstage, Uncle Mikey and The Skimahorns have a meal at Top's Bar-B-Q in an attempt to "eat like champions." When Uncle Mikey bails on the bill, they have to wash dishes to pay the tab.



The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) heads to the announce table. Jimmy Blaylock says that Brett Michaels is afraid of them, and says that if you want to see some fireworks explode, that is what is about to happen, as they are about to explode right now.



The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) beat The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) with a double-team top rope Spanish Fly. After the match, The Crowleys continue to attack The Yung GOATs, then Brett Michaels shows up and hits The Crowleys with a baseball bat. The Revenant of Walker Hayes gets in the ring, but Jimmy Blaylock holds Walker Hayes back as The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) retreat.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for June 26, 2021

Van Viciouss beats Maxx Stone.



"The Queen of the Gulf Coast" Katelynn Black and Lil Bit beat Diana Taylor and "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane after Diana Taylor tags herself in only to be hit with a Codebreaker by Lil Mix as Katelynn yanks Nikki Lane off the apron.



In footage from Memphis Wrestling Saturday Night, Austin Lane beats Derrick King by submission.

Derrick King and Queen Katelynn are at the announce table. Derrick King says it does not get any better than him, and Danny B. Goode shows up as he speaks, getting the next match started. Derrick King and Queen Katelynn then guest on commentary for the next match.

Danny B. Good beats Precious. After the match, Derrick King gets in the ring and superkicks Danny B. Good.



The Memphis Women's Championship is revealed for the first time.



In footage from Memphis Wrestling Saturday Night, The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) beat The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) and The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) in a three-way tag team match to become the inaugural Memphis Tag Team Champions after Uncle Mike pulls Aaron Roberts out of the pinfall and The Skimahorns pick the bones.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole heads to the announce table and announces his tag team partner is Mike Anthony, who shows up. When Swole asks if he will be his tag team partner, Anthony walks away, and the next match is a handicap match.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats Meklakov and Ken Dang in a two-on-one handicap match. During the match, Mike Anthony shows up and tags himself in, and his efforts help put Ken Dang away after Justin Cole clotheslines Meklakov to the outside. After the match, Mike Anthony says he does not like "Big Swole" Justin Cole and never will, then says he will no longer be overlooked as he is loved by few, hated by many, respected by all and dared by none. He says that if they line them up, he will knock them down.

Alan Steel and Johnny Dotson head to the announce table. Steel says they are sick and tired of the games being played here and says that stacking the odds against them only led to them raising the show's ratings. Dotson blames last week's lost on a crooked referee as well as propaganda from Dustin Starr. As for Action Jackson's Memphis title opportunity, Steel says he is the one who calls the shots and that Jackson will get his chance when he says so. When they find out that they are facing The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) next, Steel says that like them or hate them, they will be respected and they will be better than The Posse ever will be.



Action Jackson guests on commentary for the next match.

The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) beat Alan Steel and Johnny Dotson after Action Jackson gets in the ring as the referee is preoccupied with the action going on on the outside and hits Alan Steel with the Sliced Bread.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for April 3, 2021

"The Memphis Mauler" Alan Steel says that "The GunShow" Brett Michaels took the beating he gave him personally, and says he is not the first and will not be the last.



"The Memphis Mauler" Alan Steel beats Maxx Stone. After the match, Johnny Doston and Alan Steel continues to attack Maxx Stone, then "The GunShow" Brett Michaels runs them out of the ring with a metal baseball bat.



Backstage, Terrence Ward interviews Norman Meklakov, who says he is going to destroy all American competitors in Memphis.



We hear from Action Jackson and "The Last Hotstepper" DJ Brown, who talk about their match next week. As Jackson is excited for next week, Brown is more focused on his match this week.



Amber Rodriguez guests on commentary for the next match.

Cece Chanel beats Diana Taylor.



"Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt beats Precious. During the match, Cassandra Golden inadvertently distracts Precious as she watches from the entrance, and "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt gets the win with the Sunset Flip.



Backstage, Terrance Ward interviews Jonny Lyons, who says he has shown the heart, passion and fire of a lion and that "The Last Hotstepper" DJ Brown is going to find what he brings to the table.



"The Last Hotstepper" DJ Brown beats Jonny Lyons.



Da Russell Twins (Allen and Kameron Russell) beat The Skimahorns (Briar and Brad Skimahorn). During the match, The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) show up to watch the match (and also have some Tops Bab-B-Q). Later in the match, The Posse scare Brad Skimahorn as he is on the top rope, tripping him off the top and allowing Da Russell Twins to get the win.



Backstage, "Big Swole" Justin Cole is met by Super Ed.



Eric McMahon - now with his manager's license - guests on commentary for the next match to do some scouting.

"The Genetic Nightmare" Mike Anthony beats "Big Swole" Justin Cole.



"Queen of the Gulf Coast" Katelynn Black beats "Smokin' Hott" Nikki Lane after Derrick King grabs Katelynn's ankle to keep Nikki from suplexing her back into the ring, allowing Katelynn to win with a schoolkid pin as Nikki takes a swing at Derrick. After the match, Nikki Lane slaps Derrick King in the face, and Derrick King slaps her back. Suddenly, Austin Lane shows up and chases Derrick King out of the ring, then ducks the briefcase shot from Van Viciouss and takes Viciouss down.
