Rebel Heart - Dynamite recap for September 9, 2026

In Memoriam: "The Butcher" Andy Williams, 1977 - 2026.

It's time for The Waiting Room. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. tells Rebel (while still calling her "Reba") that her strength has inspired everyone, then brings out Persephone. Persephone thanks Britt, then says that Thunder Rosa is holding a CMLL title hostage and that she will drag her, Hyan and Maya World to the underworld before Britt introduces Hikaru Shida. Hikaru Shida says that she used to hate Britt and Rebel, but now she hates Thunder Rosa even more, and that it is time that they brought their dungeon back. Britt Baker says that Thunder Rosa will be overshadowed and embarrassed all over again. As Britt, Shida and Persephone leave, Rebel notes that Britt forgot her glove.

Swerve Strickland and The New Level (Kofi and "Awesome" Austin Creed) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong). After the match, The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) and The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson) show up, with Ricochet disappointed that they had trouble with a trio they already beat and that they could easily beat them for the AEW World Trios Championships. He also notes that Bishop Kaun's shoulders were not all the way down when they lost the title and that The New Level are only champions because they are friends with Swerve before deciding that The Demand and The Swirl will get rid of them themselves. All of a sudden, "Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) show up and even the numbers game, and The Demand and The Swirl back off. Hangman and Brodido personally hand the Trios titles back to Swerve and The New Level.

We hear from Steven Borden and Darby Allin. Steven Borden says "Why now?" before saying it is because of fear, as he has been in his father's shadow his whole life. He says that night ignited something out of him that he had run from his entire life, and that he called Darby Allin after realizing he could either keep running away or face it head-on. Darby says people think Borden is not ready, but he knows what Borden is capable of, saying that he is "the first Steven Borden" and not the next Sting.

AEW acknowledges the passing of Andy Williams aka The Butcher.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews The Don Callis Family (Don Callis, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander, Mark Davis, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher, "The Jet" Kevin Knight). Josh Alexander says Steven Borden has something to prove, but so does he, as he has been on the shelf for over five months, and Mark Davis says that he and Alexander will decimate Darby Allin and Borden. Don Callis says there is nothing like a well-oiled tag team working like a family, and Fletcher says that he and Knight worked well together. Knight says The Young Bucks may be the best of all time, but they have never faced them. Kazuchika Okada shows up and says he is glad that Fletcher finally sees the value in family as Fletcher and Knight leave.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Hikaru Shida and Persephone beat Hyan, Maya World and Thunder Rosa in a trios match. During the match, Rebel shows up and brings the glove to Britt, who then makes Hyan to the Lockjaw. After the match, Britt rides off with Rebel in Rebel's wheelchair.

We see a video package for AEW Together regarding the fight against ALS.

Andrade el Idolo retains the AEW National Championship against The Beast Mortos. After the match, Andrade says he will continue to defend the AEW National Championship every week, and that while The Beast Mortos is a good wrestler, he is not good enough to beat him. Andrade is then suddenly attacked by The Dogs (Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, David Finlay), and Gabe Kidd says that The Dogs are always one step ahead of Andrade. Kidd clocks Andrade just before Will Ospreay shows up and fights The Dogs single-handedly, clearing the ring. Jon Moxley and "The Problem" Marina Shafir show up just before The Dogs can get back in the ring, and Moxley guests on commentary for the next match as Gabe Kidd leaves and Andrade el Idolo forces Clark Connors to the back.

Will Ospreay beats David Finlay in an AEW World Championship Eliminator Match.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido (Brody King and Bandido). Brody King wants to know if Hangman is still in the hunt for the World Trios Championships, and Hangman says that while he did not anticipate it at first, he needed it, and he still does. He says that the three of them are still a trio. Brodido agrees, saying the titles belong to them, then the three of them leave for some drinks.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Darby Allin and Steven Borden beat The Don Callis Family ("The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and Mark Davis).

"The Toxic Spider" Thekla shows up on the stage. Thekla says she does not need a championship for a celebration and that the party follows her wherever she goes, and says that unlike Mercedes Moné, she did not grow up as a fangirl and was playing in a band in Vienna, Austria until she saw a man being beaten with a raw chicken carcass and thought she could do that, so she did it and did it better than everyone else. As Thekla hopes that the AEW Women's World Championship still tastes like sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, Mercedes shows up in the crowd and says that Thekla can be as toxic as she wants, she cannot do it like her. Mercedes says that Thekla does not scare her, then tells Thekla to call her "Big D. Moné" and to ask Willow Nightingale how it tastes. Thekla calls Willow "the biggest dumb bitch and the worst Women's World Champion in AEW history" and says that Willow got lucky when she won her title only to fumble it at Wembley Stadium. She says that she would piss on Willow's clouds and rainbows if Willow were here, then Willow suddenly shows up and gets in the ring only for Thekla to leave it.

We hear from The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, PAC, "The Problem" Marina Shafir) and Gabe Kidd. PAC tells Moxley he always told he could not trust Will Ospreay, and Gabe Kidd is surprised that Moxley is showing Ospreay respect. Ospreay shows up, and Marina Shafir has to hold Gabe Kidd back before Moxley stands up and Ospreay tells him that he asked for their match because Moxley is the only person to pin him this year. He then warns Moxley that he is coming at him with a gameplan and that he knows what it takes to stop a Death Rider. Moxley says Ospreay has it all figured out, and Ospreay tells Moxley he will see him in Chicago, Illinois.

Actor, screenwriter and director Arian Moayed is seen in the front row before the next match.

The Don Callis Family ("The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher and "The Jet" Kevin Knight) beat The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) in a tag team tables match after FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Big Stoke stop Nick Jackson before he can put Kyle Fletcher through a table with a top rope splash, allowing Fletcher to put Nick through the table with an avalanche brainbuster for the win. After the match, FTR and Knight attack Nick Jackson. Matt Jackson jumps in, but he falls victim to the Shatter Machine. Darby Allin and Steven Borden run to the ring before FTR can put Matt Jackson through a table. The show ends with The Young Bucks shaking hands with Darby Allin and Steven Borden.

Don Callis shows up instead. Callis talks about he turned Omega into the AEW World Champion and had a reign unmatched in AEW history until Omega decided he could do it without him. He talks about how he betrayed Omega and did more to him than diverticulitis ever could and how he brought Ospreay to AEW to face Omega before stating that Ospreay owes everything to him. Callis tells Ospreay that the road to All In will not be paved with gold, but with his own blood. Rocky "Azucar" Romero, Trent Beretta, Jake Doyle and Mark Davis flood out from the crowd into the ring and gang up on Ospreay. All of a sudden, Kenny Omega shows up with a pipe and overpowers the foursome before rearing back with the pipe at Ospreay and stopping short of striking. Omega says he felt that, and says that he has a way with words when he talks from the heart. He says he feels everything Ospreay says, but Ospreay wears his heart on his sleeve. Omega tells Ospreay that he warned him about Don Callis, Jon Moxley and MJF, and that this has made him a fool and will cause him to lose everything. Omega says that this is not the man he wants to fight at Wembley Stadium, then helps him up and tells him that he cannot help him like this again, as from here on out, it is just the two of them. Ospreay says he appreciates the help, but he did not ask for it, and he will not need it. He thanks Omega and leaves.

MJF beats "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne and "Speedball" Mike Bailey to enter the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In by submission after tossing Speedball out of the ring following an Ultima Weapon to Nick Wayne and making Nick Wayne submit to Salt of the Earth. After the match, MJF says he told everyone what was going to happen and that "the champ always wins." He says he has never lost a day in his life, which is why he is walking into Wembley Stadium and leaving with the Casino Gauntlet Contract. When MJF says there is nothing anybody can do to stop him, Andrade el Idolo's theme hits, then MJF laughs, proving it was part of a joke. MJF says Andrade is not showing up because he beat him up last week. MJF also says that Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay are afraid of him, and that sooner or later, they will learn the hard way that he is "The One True Champion."

We see The Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) at The Brawling Birds' (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) bar. They belittle The Brawling Birds and states that they have never beaten The Divine Dominion, and that they have a taste of the hell that awaits them, and that The Brawling Birds' greatest moment will be their greatest massacre. He says he and David Finlay go one-on-one more time, then hopes that Jon Moxley makes it through tonight so he can beat him to become Continental Champion.

"Switchblade" Jay White beats David Finlay to advance in the Continental Challenge Cup despite taking a hard landing on his neck from a German suplex.

Tony Schiavone introduces "Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) to the ring. After Brodido celebrate being champions again, Hangman asks for permission to speak Spanish before Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland suddenly show up. Prince Nana tells Tony Schiavone his breath stinks before telling him to get out of the ring, then declares that he and Swerve will be asking the questions going forward. Swerve thinks Hangman and Brodido have become friends through "trauma bonding" after having beef with all of them, mentioning his history with them all before asking Hangman what his legacy will be now. Hangman says he has been watching Swerve for the past year and states that Swerve should not be one to talk about results after his heinous actions this year that he has nothing to show for. Suddenly, The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) and The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson) show up, and Ricochet says they are on trios business while questioning why Prince Nana and Swerve are in the ring in the first place, given his history with Swerve. He also says that Brodido and Hangman stole the Trios titles from them, as Toa Liona's shoulders were not on the mat, and that the titles should still be theirs. Ricochet then demands that The Demand get a championship rematch. He then tells Swerve to get out of the ring as he has nine guys out here who all hate him and even more people who hate him in the back, and as Swerve leaves, he says that Brody King does all the barking while Ricochet is the bitch. Hangman says Swerve has a point, and dares The Demand to get in the ring and take the Trios titles back. Ricochet teases doing that at first, but says that The Demand and The Lethal Twist will do it on their time.

Kris Statlander beats Viva Van. After the match, Mick Foley interviews Statlander, and we find out that Noelle Foley is in the front row. Statlander learns she will be in a four-way match for the TBS Championship next week against Maya World, Hikaru Shida and Persephone. Statlander says she feels great and ready to fight, and proud that Maya World is TBS Champion. As for Persephone and Shida, she will make them bend over backwards and shove their heads up their asses for everything they have done to her. Statlander says she was made for the TBS Champonship and has even fought wars for it, then Persephone shows up for the next match along with Shida. Before they can attack Statlander, Thunder Rosa shows up, as does Maya World. Statlander and Mick Foley head to the back as Shida and Persephone are on the outside.

He says that Kevin Knight is burning the candle at both ends like he did as World Champion, but he did not win the right way. Darby then says he is willing to go far at Wembley Stadium, and that there is no amount of training to ready Knight for their match. He says that if Knight can beat him, then maybe he will live up to the potential that he saw in him all those years ago.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Don Callis and "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher. After stating that "Speedball" Mike Bailey brought out the best in him, he is still champion, and he hopes to defend the title a fourth time in a fourth country before All In. Christian says he has heard Josh talk in the back, and says that as much as he respects him and his story, Alexander almost lost his career while he lost his own for more than seven years and fought to get it back before becoming Impact World Champion. He says he will not lay down for anyone and that he will stay the champion, and tells Alexander that if he cashes in, he may walk out of this empty-handed, saying that he is face of the X Division right now and that he will be a face in the crowd, not the face of Impact. Anderson says they are still on the vacation that he and Gallows deserve, and that they deserve it because they have beaten every single team put in front of them. Gallows says that just because they are on an island, that does not mean they can keep up on all the other tag teams via the Internet, and that they will have no problem taking down their opposition.

Mickie James heads to the ring. Mickie says it was a huge honor to come back at Slammiversary and that it is great to be back in "the land of Hardcore Country," but her intentions were less about herself and more about putting over the present and future of women's wrestling. She says it was great to get Deonna Purrazzo involved, but a lot of things have changed since then due to Purrazzo's unprofessional behavior, and that is was nice to give her a receipt. Mickie asks Purrazzo to come to the ring, and Deonna shows up and heads to the ring. Purrazzo takes offense to Mickie attacking her at NWA 73, and Mickie says that she can see through Purrazzo and that she is a fighter and not an executive producer anymore. Mickie then challenges Purrazzo to a match at Bound For Glory with the Impact Knockouts Championship on the line. Purrazzo says she owes Mickie nothing, and that wrestling her is "everybody's dream match" right now. Purrazzo says a match with Mickie does nothing for her, saying she never idolized her despite her accomplishments and that there is a long line of women far ahead of Mickie who made her want to be a wrestler, and that their match will not happen. She says that there is a hierarchy in Impact and that respect is earned, not given, and until she earns her title shot, the answer is no. Mickie stops Purrazzo from leaving, and this starts a brawl. Security moves quickly into place to break the brawl up, and Scott D'Amore shows up and says that wrestlers don't make matches, they don't turn them down, either. He also says that he and the fans disagree on Mickie James not being deserving a title shot, and that he would be an idiot to turn this match down. He makes the match official for Bound For Glory, then leaves while security keep another brawl from happening.

Gail Kim tells them they will have to earn their shot by beating Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering next week.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats "Inevitable" Ace Austin. After the match, Madman Fulton attacks Josh Alexander, but Alexander fights back only for Ace Austin to stop him. Suddenly, Christian Cage shows up and evens the numbers game, and he and Alexander clear the ring. Alexander tells Christian he does not need his help, but this allows Austin and Fulton to get back in the ring and strike again. As Fulton and Austin go for a double-team choke slam/Fold combo, Christopher Daniels suddenly shows up. Jake tells Skyler he got lucky, then challenges him to a match so they can see if he gets lucky again.

Suddenly, TJP shows up and answers Steve Maclin's open challenge.

Steve Maclin beats TJP by disqualification in the BTI match. During the match, Maclin grabs TJP's walis and tries to use it as a weapon, but the referee takes it away from him. She then says that Mickie James is being dishonest with herself by thinking her match with Melina will be competitive, saying that nobody likes to see a movie when they already know the ending and that Mickie conveniently left out her beating Melina at Emergence. Mickie then says she say Rehwoldt beating Melina, not Deonna, then says the difference between Emergence and Empowerrr is that Rehwoldt will not be there before asking Deonna how confident she is about being in the ring with Melina. He then says that if there is one person who does it for the business, it is Christian Cage, and that for seven years, Christian Cage went elsewhere and left Impact without a proper goodbye. Dreamer says that Christian has found the fountain of youth and has done well since being in Impact Wrestling, saying he has done it for the business and the fans before thanking Christian for everything he has done and for representing Impact like a true champion. Dreamer then says that he has not earned it, but one day, he would like to wrestle Christian one more time, and until then, he will outwork everyone like Christian has. Suddenly, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton show up. Ace Austin says he knows that Christian knows him through his reputation that precedes him, then properly introduces himself before stating that he will make the history he was always meant to make at Victory Road when he becomes a world champ at 24. He then says he is a credible threat - unlike Dreamer, whom he says will never win the world title again - and says that while Christian has been travelling the world, Christian's schedule and luggage will get lighter when he meets "the inevitable." Cardona says it was not his intention to cost Brian Myers the match, but Myers paid Hernandez off and Eddie Edwards deserved a fair fight, so he had to neutralize the situation. He says that he is still friends with Myers, but Myers is being a jerk here in Impact, and if he has to put him in his place, he will.

Finlay says that they will have to wait until they come back in April from a tour of Japan, however, and this leads to a brawl where Juice and Finlay quickly escape.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who says that while Trey Miguel has all the talent in the world, he fakes having passion and confuses anger with passion. He says it is passion that drives a man to do anything, such as Sam Beale taking on Trey Miguel in the ring, and admits that while Trey has won matches here and there, he says that Trey does not have the passion to take it to the next level. Sami then proclaims that he will make an example out of Trey tonight.

Backstage, The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) meet with Scott D'Amore regarding the Impact World Tag Team Championships going to Japan with Juice Robinson and David Finlay. He says that Sacrifice was one of the hardest things he has been through in his entire life, and says he and Moose proved why Impact is one of the best companies with the best talent. Swann admits that while he may not like Moose, he respects him, but at Sacrifice, he was on his high horse and riding that stallion, and he became double champion. He says one world championship is hard to come by, but two is unthinkable, yet he did it. He then addresses his recent past with Kenny Omega and says it has come full circle, and at Rebellion, he will right a wrong when he faces Omega. He says that Rebellion will be an important night in wrestling, and that at Rebellion, they will see who the real world champion is. Suddenly, Don Callis shows up. Callis whispers something into Swann's ear and talks to him, then takes the microphone and says he is proud to be in the ring with him on his very special night. Callis says he is "a huge Rich Swann guy" and that he wanted him in Impact in the first place, and that he also made sure that Swann's family got paid while Swann has injured. He also says he fought for him to be in the main event. He then calls Swann his shiny toy that he was proud of, then says that he felt an emptiness in his life when he met Kenny Omega and that he lost interest in him after that. He also hints that Rich Swann may have had Omega in the back of his mind, and says that as much as he loves Swann as a performer, Swann is just a superstar while Omega is a god. He tells Swann that he made history at Sacrifice, and that he will become part of history at Rebellion while implying that Omega already has their match won.
