Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for August 12, 2021

We hear from Sam Adonis, who says that today is the day that the impact is made. He says that Joeasa is the only thing standing in his way, then brags about being hated by important people and being kicked out of arenas and countries, saying that this has made him no stranger to being infamous. He says that Joeasa will never forget the day that he got beaten by Sam Adonis, because the only way up is through Impact Wrestling.

We hear from Joeasa, who says that being infamous is not about being kicked out of places and more about picking a fight wherever and whenever one is, and tonight, that fight is with Sam Adonis, who will soon earn a scar that will never fade.

Josh Mathews virtually interviews Deonna Purrazzo. Deonna Purrazzo mentions her busy schedule in Nashville, Tennessee for both today and the next day. Deonna says that Mickie James has a chance at taking the Knockouts Championship from her, but she is lacking competition with the current Knockouts. She also thought that she never had it in her to be this dominant until she came to Impact with a chip on her shoulder, and since then, she has had a target on her back. On the subject of defending the Knockouts Championship elsewhere, she wants to be Impact Wrestling's ringbearer, carry the brand on her back all over the world and be a champion Impact can be proud of, but she is confident that she can beat her competition wherever she goes.

Sam Adonis beats Joeasa with a roll-up after grabbing Joeasa's tights.

Tenille Dashwood beats Taylor Wilde after Kaleb inadvertently sprays the referee instead of Taylor Wilde with hairspray and Taylor is pulled off of Kaleb by Madison Rayne. After the match, Tenille and Madison hug.

We hear from Johnny Swinger, "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams, Moose, Chris Sabin, Ace Austin, Trey Miguel, Brian Myers, Sam Beale, Rich Swann, Eddie Edwards, Willie Mack, No Way and Sami Callihan, who all say they will win tonight's World Championship #1 Contender's Battle Royal.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats Shawn Daivari. Jake Something is seen watching the match from the stage during the match. After the match, Jake Something shows up and shoves the Impact X Division Championship into Alexander before having a brief staredown with him.

We see a video package for Christian Cage vs. Kenny Omega for the Impact World Championship tomorrow night on AEW Rampage, where Impact Wrestling superstars predict who will win.

We hear from The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson). Gallows says that the Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Championships belong to them and that their momentum is not changing any time soon. After Anderson says that Impact Wrestling belongs to The Good Brothers, Gallows also says that their three-way tag team title match at is all Violent By Design's fault, then Violent By Design shows up. Eric Young says that Impact belongs to them and that they will take the tag team titles back. Gallows says that they have beaten all four members of Violent By Design, then tells Joe Doering that they can have a go to see who the biggest big hoss is. Eric Young says he and Doering will see him next week.

Kiera Hogan heads to the ring. Kiera says that Fire 'n Flava was supposed to be "better than that," and says that she thought Tasha Steelz was "a real one" and understood her more than anyone until she pulled a quick one and got someone to do her dirty work for her. She then calls Tasha and her newfound friend from last week over to the ring, but she gets Su Yung instead, and Su Yung sends Kimber Lee into the ring at Kiera. Kiera and Kimber brawl, and Su Yung distracts Kiera long enough for Kimber to prepare the Mandible Claw complete with a bloody glove. Kimber then, at the behest of Su Yung, drags Kiera to the back.

We hear from Don Callis and Kenny Omega. Callis says that a lot of people were jealous when they did what they do, then says that Impact is trying to follow them to AEW and make him defend the Impact World title against Christian Cage. Callis calls this subterfuge while Omega calls this skullduggery, and says Scott D'Amore and Tommy Dreamer have bruised egos. He says that Impact has brought a knife to a gunfight and will find out what he and Omega have in store for Impact. Callis says they will have the Impact World Championship forever, then Omega says that Tony Khan and Scott D'Amore can send whoever they want at him and that he does not hear from upset fans when he retains the championship.

FinJuice (Juice Robinson and David Finlay) beat Chris Bey and "Switchblade" Jay White by disqualification after Jay White breaks up a pinfall attempt with a chair. After the match, David Finlay and Jay White brawl, and Jay White throws the chair into David Finlay and hits him in the head. Jay White says to David Finlay "Never again," then plans Finlay onto the steel chair.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Tasha Steelz. Tasha says that over a year ago, Kiera Hogan found her and wanted to ride her "heat wave" to the top. She says that the brought the flavor to Impact, and that a year later, Kiera's heat wave had cooled down. She then says that she had to make some changes and brought Savannah Evans, and says that anyone who steps to Savannah will not get to her. Suddenly, Fallah Bahh asks Tasha for back-up regarding Rosemary and Havok. Tasha asks Fallah if he has a problem with them. He says yes. She says she has a problem with them, too, as they have the Knockouts tag titles.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Melina. Melina never thought she would be part of a collaborative effort between wrestling companies to create a big women's wrestling show after twenty years and is grateful for the opportunity, then Deonna Purrazzo shows up and calls Melina "pathetic." After Deonna says that she has been making opportunities and has been training with Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Alesha Zappitella, we see a video package featuring Deonna training with Zappitella. Afterwards, Melina admits that Deonna is impressive, and yet while people have tried to get her to quit or end her career, she is still here. She says that next week, she will have a match, and Deonna will see what is in store for her.

Alex Marvez interviews Christian Cage. Christian says he and Kenny Omega are going to know each other very well for the next month or so, and while Omega is "the belt collector," he will beat Omega for all the titles, starting with the Impact World Championship. He says that next week is his return to the Impact Zone after many years and that he owes it to Impact and their fans to return with the Impact World Championship, as Impact saw something in and gave him opportunities, and he stepped up. He wishes everyone in the #1 contender's battle royal good luck, then says that the winner will be starting down the barrel of the new Impact World Champion.

John Skyler beats Matt Cardona with a schoolkid pin following the distraction by Rohit Raju and Shera.

Brian Myers - who eliminates Sam Beale during the match - last eliminates Sabin and Moose (the former having the latter in a sleeper hold) - to win the Impact World Championship #1 Contender's Battle Royal. During the match, W. Morrissey gets three eliminations - Suicide, Johnny Swinger and Hernandez - before being eliminated by everyone else in the ring. "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams is eliminated thanks to interference by Steve Maclin.

Larry D says he is not afraid of Rosemary, to which Acey Romero agrees, and says that XXXL will bring the impact tonight and that 700 pounds of force will bring all the impact they need. We then hear from Decay. Crazzy Steve says that "the best hand in the house" is made of flesh and bone, and it can be cut or broken, and when it does, the house begins to crumble. Rosemary says the catalyst for that crumble is fear, and that Decay sees the fear in XXXL's eyes when they tremble. She says the fear will bring them down like everything else and will bring them to their own decay.

D'Amore makes a six-man tag match where the winning team faces each other in a three-way match for a shot at the X Division Championship. Austin tells D'Amore to throw out all the hoops he wants, for the results are inevitable.

Anderson says he can see the stars in Juice and Finlay's eyes and welcomes them to Impact, even proposing they have a party with bourbon. Juice reminds The Good Brothers that this is not 2015, and proposes they have some beers. Finlay says he is up for it, provided Anderson doesn't pass out before midnight or wake up "covered in his own piss."

Rohit Raju and Mahabali Shera are at a bar. Rohit says there is no reason why he should not be two-time X Division Champion, then says it is Shera's fault. Shera pushes Rohit into Storm, but Storm proposes Rohit apologize so they and Chris Sabin can have a good time. When Rohit refuses to apologize, Storm hits him in the head with a beer bottle, and Shera steps up only to be warned not to do this by Sabin. After Storm gives the bartender some money, Johnny Swinger shows up, invites Storm and Sabin to Swinger's Palace, then takes the money.

Johnny Swinger brings "The Cowboy" James Storm and Chris Sabin to Swinger's Palace. Fallah Bahh shows up and blows the ten dollars Hernandez gave him, then gets thrown out.

He says that while Jake pinned him and the sickness won, Joe Doering made him suffer. Deaner says he must take car of business and make Jake suffer in a Tables Match next week, and if he cannot finish Jake, he is willing to suffer the consequences, as nothing is more important than family.

Backstage, Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee stop Susie from fighting Jazz. Deonna flags down Scott D'Amore to get Kimber Lee and Susie a shot at the Knockouts Tag Team Championships, and makes a #1 contender's match against Jordynne Grace and Jazz.
