Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) and Chris Jericho. Ricochet says that Jericho's partners for their six-man tag team match, now that nobody wants to team up with the man who gets his ass beat by The Demand every time he shows up. Jericho reveals that he not only has patented that statement, but put it on a shirt. Ricochet says that no matter who Jericho teams up with, he will be beating him with the "Rico-Sault." Jericho says he does not have to look far for partners, as he knows a few people who do not like Ricochet.
Brody King beats Lio Rush. After the match, Brody King says that he will be keeping a close eye on tonight's AEW World Championship. He says that if Ciampa wins it, he will have earned it, and while he is proud of Darby Allin, he is not proud enough to bring the violence.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Tommaso Ciampa, who says that he has been told that he is not main event material throughout his career. He says that tonight is not about heroes and villains, but proving glass ceilings are imaginary. He says that tonight is about the greatest prize in professional wrestling, and that no one has ever seen a man more ready for this moment than he is tonight, and that Darby Allin does not need it more than he does.
Backstage, we hear from Adam Copeland. Adam Copeland states that he and Christian Cage deserve another tag team title shot and that he has come up with a plan that not even FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) can refuse. He challenges FTR to a tag team title match in a New York Street Fight at Double or Nothing, and if FTR beats them, he and Christian will retire as a tag team. He knows what FTR's answer should be if they are the best, unless they know deep down that he and Christian are better. Copeland says he knows what he would do, then says the ball is in FTR's court.
Hikaru Shida beats Mina Shirakawa after Kris Statlander stops Shirakawa from using Shida's shinai against her.
Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.
Mark Davis beats Will Ospreay by medical stoppage following a piledriver in the middle of the ring followed by another one on the apron. After the match, Mark Davis pulls Will Ospreay back in the ring for another piledriver. Suddenly, Jon Moxley and "The Problem" Marina Shafir show up, and so do the rest of The Death Riders (Claudio Catagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia). Mark Davis puts Ospreay down as the fans chant "You fucked up!" The Death Riders help Will Ospreay out of the ring, and push Dr. Samson out of the way as they carry Ospreay out through the crowd.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Alex Windsor. Windsor says that she will rip the legs off of "The Toxic Spider" Thekla and that she will stomp Julia Hart and Skye Blue into a puddle of piss after what happened to Jamie Hayter. Persephone shows up, and says that she may not be a Brawling Bird, but she still wants to fight Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Thekla). Windsor likes the idea, then challenges Triangle of Madness to a tag team match on Collision.
Samoa Joe beats Cody Chhun. After the match, Hook applauds Samoa Joe at the top of the ramp.
We see a video package of Darby Allin's AEW career.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Chris Jericho, who introduces The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin), who are his partners against The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) on Collision. MVP says it is never personal; it is just business.
Tony Schiavone interviews Darby Allin in the ring. Darby takes the microphone and says that it took everything to become AEW World Champion, and mentions how he had his first match in Portland, Oregon. He says this could all end in a matter of moments and calls the title "a fifteen-minute ride." He says that he has seen what the AEW World Championship has done to men and their egos, then dedicates the reign to his family, his fans and those who helped him along the way, then MJF angrily shows up. MJF says that Darby is undeserving of the AEW World Championship, and Darby refuses to not only give MJF the title back, but he refuses to give him a rematch until MJF puts something of his own on the line. Darby says that he will put his body on the line every night for the AEW World Championship, starting with Tommaso Ciampa, then tells MJF to get out of his ring. Tommaso Ciampa makes his way to the ring, and MJF says something to him before Ciampa kisses MJF on the cheek and gets in the ring.
Darby Allin retains the AEW World Championship against Tommaso Ciampa by submission with the Scorpion Deathlock. As Ciampa leaves the ring after congratulating Darby, Brody King show up and helps Darby up, then says he was serious when he was proud of him after the countless moment they spent talking about moments like this. He asks Darby for a match for the AEW World Championship with Tony Khan's permission, and Darby accepts.
