Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for January 2, 2020

General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala announce two more matches for NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II. Eddie Dennis will face Trent Seven, while Tyler Bate will face Jordan Devlin.

Before the next match, Kona Reeves tells the fans to shut up, as they threw him off during his match with Trent Seven a few weeks ago, then says he was jet-lagged, had improper nutrition, did not have enough sleep and was generally not ready. He then tells everyone to sit down so he can focus on the "monstrosity" in the ring, then implies that Dave Mastiff does not deserve to be in the same ring as him before saying tonight is his lucky night. After Reeves states that he will be able to tell his "pathetic" family that he was defeated by him, the next match starts.

Dave Mastiff beats Kona Reeves.

Toni Storm shows up. Storm says that after she lost the NXT UK Women's Championship, she had to go away for a while because she did not know herself anymore, as Kay Lee Ray got into her head and sent her into a very dark place. Toni then states that she owes somebody an apologizes, and says that she would really like to talk to Piper Niven. Piper Niven shows up, and Toni apologizes for letting Kay Lee Ray drive a wedge between them after all Piper has done for her. She then asks Piper Niven to step aside from the NXT UK Women's Championship match at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, and tells her she will make her the first in line when she wins the title. Piper tells Toni she loves her and has sacrificed much to make it to where she is now, and says that she cannot walk away from this opportunity, stating that Toni has had her time and that she must have hers. Toni pulls her aside only to be headbutted by Piper. This starts a brawl between the two women that referees quickly break up, and Kay Lee Ray shows up and watches from the entrance ramp with glee.

Kassius Ohno beats Ligero with the Kassius Klutch. After the match, Kassius Ohno says he has figured out why his match with Tyler Bate had an unfavorable outcome, and says it will never happen again. He says he lost sight of why he came to NXT UK: to be the liven embodiment of British wrestling. He says it makes him sick to his stomach that nobody in the back knows nothing about British wrestling, then says he is a wrestling genius and that he can beat people with wrestling, not punches or boots, for he is the greatest wrestler alive.

In footage from earlier this week, A-Kid's promo is hijacked by Joseph Conners, who says he is UK TakeOver worthy. Conners tells A-Kid that he is currently on a roll in NXT UK and that he has has no problem ruining things for him.

In footage from during the break, Kassius Ohno says he is the best British wrestler alive when Dave Mastiff shows up from behind and tells him he knows where to find him when he wants to fight a real British wrestler.

Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith beat The Outliers (Riddick Moss and Dorian Mak) when Smith pins Moss with an inside cradle as The Outliers prematurely celebrate a victory.

We see a video package for Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) vs. Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) vs. "Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews for the NXT UK Tag Team Championships at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II.

Ilya Dragunov beats Alexander Wolfe in a no-disqualification match. After the match, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel show up and attack Dragunov, then Walter stands at the stage as Wolfe, Aichner and Barthel stand in the center of the stage. As Walter approaches the ring, he is attacked by Joe Coffey, who then runs to the back.

Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for November 21, 2019

Before the next match, Kona Reeves says it is typical of the people not to know when they have real talent in their presence, and that is why he thought it would be beneficial if he hopped on a jet to compete in NXT UK. Reeves go on to say he knows a lot about Trent Seven, then say that the fans for idiots for cheering for him, as he is out of shape, out-of-date and not exemplary of what a Superstar is. He plans to show him that twisting his mustache does not make him a star and give him a taste of what it is like to be in the ring with "The Finest." After the match, Trent Seven is shocked by the sudden appearance of Eddie Dennis in the front row as he high-fives the crowd.

In footage from earlier today, Radzi interviews Ilya Dragunov, who says that Alexander Wolfe - who trained him - tried to trick him into joining Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, Wolfe), but he always made decisions for him and disrespected him. He plans to prove that he is the only one in charge of his own future when he steps out of Wolfe's shadow.

NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II is live on the WWE Network on Sunday, January 12th, and is already sold out within two hours of tickets being available.

A-Kid beats Jack Starz by submission.

In footage from earlier today, Radzi interviews Jinny and Jazzy Gabert. Jinny gives the women's division credit for their talent, but says that they are "little girls." Jinny says that she is championship material, and that Piper Niven will have to overthrow her as queen, as she has never pinned her.

Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) show up. Gibson says they should be NXT UK Tag Team Champions, and that the only reason they are not is a stipulation to their match at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff that cost them the titles. He states that Grizzled Young Veterans is a great tag team capable of bouncing back, as they had Flash "Morgan" Webster and Mark Andrews beaten until Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) and Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, Alexander Wolfe)showed up and got the match thrown out. Gibson then says that there have been no consequences for both teams' actions, and demands that the powers that be pay attention and listen to them, as they were on the way to making the NXT UK tag team titles the most venerable in WWE. He then says that the titles are depreciating in value as they do not have it, then talks about the Bill Shankly statue in front of Shankly Gates in Anfield, saying they want to make the people happy. Gibson demands that General Manager Johnny Saint make the people happy and give Grizzled Young Veterans the tag title shot they deserve, as NXT UK needs them in the match and the world will be talking about them.

We hear from Jordan Devlin, who places a highlight reel of himself before saying he is an "inspirational leader of men" in NXT UK before A-Kid will not succeed solely on Tyler Bate's endorsement when he beats him next week.

Ridge Holland beats Oliver Carter in his debut. Marty Jones is seen in the front row before the match. Ashton Smith checks on Oliver Carter after the match. (Holland is best known as former professional rugby player Luke Menzies.)

"The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks says that Joseph Conners is "out of order." Ligero says that Conners robbed him of the victory and the fans out of a fair fight. Conners says he is happy he was able to leave a good impression on everyone.

In footage from during the break, Ashton Smith talks with Oliver Carter, saying they need a win to go places. Suddenly, Noam Dar shows up and insults both of them, but Smith decides to play Dar's bluff and challenges him to a match. Noam says he doesn't need friends, and that he will face Ashton Smith on his time.

Next week: Jinny vs. Piper Niven!

Alexander Wolfe beats Ilya Dragunov following the involvement of the rest of Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel). After the match, Imperium attacks Dragunov, but Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) runs in and fends them off. When Gallus stands tall in the ring, and when Walter tries to retrieve the WWE United Kingdom Championship, Joe Coffey grabs it, saying the title will soon be his.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) show up. Ivar and Erik state that they have went to Raw and have taken on its tag team division, but they are far from finished raiding and since they still have the NXT tag team titles, they demand that General Manager William Regal join them right now. William Regal shows up, and Erik says that since there is no one who can take the tag team titles from them, they are here to relinquish the titles. He and Ivar hand the titles to a surprised Regal, then Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) show up. Montez Ford is surprised at The Viking Raiders' claim that nobody can beat them, and says Street Profits brought the fight to them last week. Matt Riddle is tended to by a trainer. Johnny Gargano, who is nearby, tells an interviewer that Riddle will be okay and that Adam Cole will not like Riddle when he is angry. He also says that he has spoken to General Manager William Regal, and at the next NXT TakeOver, it will be him and Cole for the NXT Championship one more time.

Vanessa Borne beats Jessie.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) for the NXT Tag Team Championships ends after The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler, Wesley Blake, Jaxson Ryker) attacks Ivar. After the match, all three teams brawl, and Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch run in to get in on the action. After a double team to The Viking Raiders, Street Profits run to the back, and The Viking Raiders take their anger out on Lorcan, urch and Wesley Blake to end the show.

Gallus (Joe and Mark Coffey) beats Humberto Carrillo and Raul Mendoza.

In the trainer's room, Rhea Ripley tells Kacy Catanzaro she will end up in medical for stepping in her division, then Viper shows up and asks Rhea Ripley if she said something.

Backstage, Pete Dunne says he carried the United Kingdom title for over 600 days, and that he refuses to walk away from the championship. He says people got used to him as champion that they forgot about the chase, but he has not forgotten about the chase, and Walter gave him the fight of his life. He now knows what to expect and how to beat Walter, and he knows he can take the championship back. He knows what it means to be champion, something that Walter has not learned yet as he prepares to breathe down his neck. He tells Walter he was at the right place and the right time, but he built the platform that Walter is standing on and demands a championship rematch from Walter.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 27, 2019

Adam Cole shows up to start tonight's show. The NXT Championship is seen on a table in the center of the ring. Cole states that he outlasted four of NXT's very best last week and earned the right to face Johnny Gargano for the vacant NXT Championship, and while he could give a million reasons for why he will be champion, he wants Gargano to come to the ring. Gargano shows up and meets Cole in the ring, and sits on the top turnbuckle as dueling fan chants fill the arena. The chants end after Cole yells that he needs no support and can win the title on his own and Gargano states that he loves the chants. Gargano then demands Cole list off all the reasons that Cole knows he will beat him, then demands the fans get their cameras out as NXT history is being made because Cole is at a loss for words. He then asks Cole if he knows that he is in the fight of his life, as Gargano states that his path ends at the NXT Championship and that his path goes through Cole, who will find out why he is called "Johnny Takeover." Cole is interrupted by "Johnny Takeover," then implies that the nickname does not intimidate him as Gargano has not been in the winner's circle at TakeOver and that "Johnny Participation" is more fitting. He states that Gargano cannot beat him in one fall, much less two, because he become the first-ever North American Champion, first-ever War Games Match winner and winner of his debut match all at TakeOver events, and plans to repeat history with a NXT title win. Cole claims that he earned all of his accolades, and asks what Gargano has done to earn a championship match. Gargano admits he didn't get the red carpet rolled out for him like Cole did, and that he was initially told he wasn't good enough to be in NXT. He talks about how he fought for his one chance - which he got in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic while thrown into a tag team with Tommaso Ciampa - and fought for his life alongside Ciampa to make it. After the tournament, a month passed with no response, but he was suddenly invited back again and again, because every time he showed up, he poured his heart out in the ring and fought so hard that the fans chanted for him. The louder they chanted, the harder he fought for a chance in NXT, as the fans fought for him and he fought for them back to defy the odds and earn his NXT contract and all of his accolades here. Gargano states he earned everything he could here because NXT is his life, and that he was not "handed a top spot in a group of cronies who fought for [him] since day one," and he would not change a thing. He then states he will fight to make his dream come true, fulfill his destiny and finally become NXT Champion. Cole leaves, then turns back and tells Gargano that he can fight all he wants, but he will become the NXT Champion in the end because the win will not be definitive according to WWE CEO and NXT founder Triple H, but undisputed as Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong stand at the top of the ramp.

Vanessa Borne and Aliyah vs. Lacey Lane and Kacy Catanzaro ends in a no-contest. During the match, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke show up and attack Lacey Lane and Kacy Catanzaro while Vanessa Borne and Aliyah leave. Kacy Catanzaro fights back, but she falls victim to a Kirafuda Clutch from Baszler. Baszler, Duke and Shafir head to the announce table, and Baszler announces that this will keep happening as long as she is mistreated before standing on the announce table and raising up the NXT Women's Championship.

Matt Riddle beats "The Finest" Kona Reeves with the Bromission. During the match, two women carry Velveteen Dream out on a couch, and this distracts Riddle to the point that he almost loses. After the match, Velveteen Dream interrupts the ring announcer to congratulate Riddle on his win and acknowledge him as his challenger at NXT TakeOver: New York. After the match, Velveteen Dream interrupts the ring announcer to congratulate Riddle on his win and acknowledge him as his challenger at NXT TakeOver: New York. Riddle takes the goblet out of Velveteen Dream's hand and drinks out of it before tossing it aside, then takes Dream's microphone and tells him "I'll see you in New York...bro."

Aleister Black and Ricochet beat The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler) to win the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and face War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver: War Games. During the match, Jaxson Ryker gets ejected from the match after getting caught pulling Aleister Black's foot off the rope as Wesley Blake goes for a pinfall attempt. After the match, War Raiders show up and stare down with Aleister and Ricochet in the ring to end the show.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 10, 2018

Tommaso Ciampa shows up to start tonight's show. Ciampa says the greatest sports entertainer of all time has the greatest entrance music of all time. He says the best part is that it has brought silence to the sheep, but in every flock, there is always one who tries to break away from the pack. He says that in this case, it is Velveteen Dream, whom the crowd immediately chants for. He says Dream has his attention, but he has gone about it the wrong way when he pointed fingers, made accusations and stuck his nose in other people's business. Dream then shows up. Dream considers Ciampa's speech amusing, and says he does not appreciate his threats. He can only assume Ciampa speaks like he does because he believes he is a bad man, but he believes the NXT title deserves a real experience and not a guilt trip from "an angry little bald man" with insecurities. Ciampa says he may be a "angry little bald man," but he is the one with the title, and says Dream wants what he has: the main event, the spotlight and the NXT Championship. He says Dream does not even believe himself when he accuses him of attacking Aleister Black, saying Dream wants attention. He says everyone is listening, and tells him to be an admit "it." He then says the title says that maybe Dream is just not tough enough. After the thinly veiled Tough Enough reference, Dream says he is tough enough and man enough, and more man than Ciampa can handle. He tells Ciampa that if he wants to find that out, all he has to do is give him a moment with him and the NXT title. All of a sudden, Nikki Cross shows up. The crowd immediately chants for a Triple Threat match before Nikki Cross smiles at both Ciampa and Dream, and the crowd then chants "Nikki knows a secret!" Nikki tells Dream she knows what the Dream doesn't, then swats at him before listening to the NXT Championship and swatting the microphone out of Ciampa's hand. She then drops down and says into the microphone "I know what you don't, too!" She then repeatedly says "I know" before charging the Dream out of the ring and kicking the microphone away from Ciampa. Nikki Cross leaves while repeatedly saying "I know!" The crowd then chants "She knows!"

Keith Lee beats "The Finest" Kona Reeves with a powerslam called the Supernova.

We see another video package of "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler training as she talks about her time in NXT, how she lost the NXT Women's Championship, and how she will get it back.

We see footage from earlier today where Kairi Sane talks about how she is excited to head to Evolution to face "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler. She says Shayna can train all she wants, but she will beat her again.

General Manager William Regal says he will not reveal his list of remaining suspects, but he needs more information and says that Nikki Cross keeps saying she knows. Suddenly, Kassius Ohno meets up with Regal, who wants to know when his "shiny new toy" will show up, saying that this person may be the one who did it. Regal refuses to answer and enters his office, then Nikki Cross shows up saying she knows what Ohno doesn't.

Next week: War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) vs. Undisputed Era (Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) for the NXT Tag Team Championships! Nikki Cross vs. Bianca Belair!

Ricochet retains the NXT North American Championship against Pete Dunne and Adam Cole.

Wednesday, September 5, 2018

Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 5, 2018

Kassius Ohno beats "The Finest" Kona Reeves. After the match, Ohno says that when he came back to NXT, there was so much buzz until there wasn't, and he became an afterthought. He says it tore him up thinking about it, but he knows now there will always be someone new and fresh, and whoever the next guy with buzz is, he is going to be the first one to welcome them before knocking them to the back of the line.

The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler) beat Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) in their televised debut after The Mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) show up and distract Montez Ford by stealing Street Profits' jewelery, allowing Jaxson Ryker to hit Montez Ford with a cheap shot on the outside. (The Forgotten Sons are accompanied by Jaxson Ryker, best known as Gunner from Impact Wrestling.)

General Manager William Regal interviews Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic). Otis Dozovic admits he broke a toilet in the Performance Center, but Tucker Knight tells him this is not what this is about. We learn that Heavy Machinery supplied video footage, but Regal wants more. Knight says he saw Johnny Gargano in the bushes, which was not in the footage.

We see footage from last week where Pete Dunne and Ricochet argue backstage. Both men claim they are better than the other, and Ricochet tells Dunne he will soon take his title. It is then announced that both men will face each other in a Champion vs. Champion Match with both the NXT North American Championship and the WWE United Kingdom Championship on the line.

We see a vignette for War Raiders.

Kairi Sane pulls the NXT Women's Championship out of a treasure chest full of gold coins on the way to the ring for the next match.

Kairi Sane beats Trish Adora. After the match, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler shows up and shoves down the treasure chest of gold coins on the stage before telling Kairi to enjoy her fantasy while she can, because reality will hit her ship like a cannonball when she invokes her rematch clause. As for tonight, she wants to "see if this pirate can swim." Kairi Sane seemingly comes out on the losing end of a quick brawl after a clothesline, but Kairi gets up and fights back, forcing Baszler to retreat.

We hear from Tommaso Ciampa, who says that he has not been seen since NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 as he does not have a #1 contender. With Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano gone, he truly is the last man standing, the main event, the NXT Champion and the best sports entertainer of all time. He also is filming this on his own time because he is sick and tired of the fans' opinions, and that he does not want to be "the voice of the voiceless;" instead, he wants to lead wolves as he is the top of the food chain. He knows everybody wants to hear what he has to say, and that fewer hear his message, and asks everyone to follow his lead.

General Manager William Regal interviews Lars Sullivan, who apologizes for not letting him know he has been medically cleared sooner. Sullivan says he was at Full Sail University to locate Aleister Black on the night of the attack, but he heard him scream out in the distance, and when he finally got close enough, Aleister Black was laid out. The last thing he saw was The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) leaving and William Regal showing up, and also says that if he did do it, Aleister would be out for longer than he already is. General Manager William Regal puts Lars Sullivan in a match with Raul Mendoza for next week, and asks that his path of destruction stay in the ring.

Velveteen Dream beats Johnny Gargano with a Dream Valley Driver as Gargano runs at him to hit him with a knee to the face in response to Velveteen Dream calling him a failure and a disappointment. After the match, half of the fans chant "Johnny Failure" while the other half chants "Johnny Wrestling." Gargano sits on the apron and looks at a fan that he thanked earlier in the match for reminding him of who he was, then heads to the back from the side. As he does, he looks back at the fans one more time. The show ends.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 1, 2018

Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovich) beat The Mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) after Street Profits' (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) entrance hits and they show up in the crowd, distracting The Mighty.

Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) beat Matt Knotts and Brandon Taylor. After the match, Trent Seven says they are back at Full Sail University, and the last time Moustache Mountain, things did not turn out quite well. He apologizes to Tyler Bate and the fans. He says that he has spoken to General Manager William Regal, and they have a plan. Tyler Bate says The Undisputed Era not only went for their tag team titles, but they also tried to tear them apart. He says that Trent Seven's well-being matters to him, and now Moustache Mountain are on a mission to take back the NXT tag team titles. They are invoking their rematch clause at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

Ethan Carter III beats "The Finest" Kona Reeves. During the match, Velveteen Dream shows up and says there is someone in the building who still cannot get over NXT's recent trip to the United Kingdom, and if EC3 wants to talk about it, they can do that, but he has to enter "The Dream's World." If he is lucky, he may be able to bask in the experience. After he leaves, Reeves hits the Hawaiian Drop, but EC3 kicks out, and hits Reeves with the One Percenter as Reeves trash talks him while he is down.

Backstage, EC3 asks what kind of man would turn down The Velveteen Dream's invitation. He will join him for a conversation, but it will turn into a fight for he is the best here, there and everywhere and he is EC3.

"The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler beats Candice LeRae with the Kirafuda Clutch. After the match, Baszler puts LeRae in the Kirafuda Clutch again, and two referees show up to break the hold. Suddenly, Kairi Sane runs into the ring and confronts Baszler, but the referees hold her back. Baszler pretends to leave the ring, but goes back in and boots Kairi Sane as she checks on Candice LeRae. Kairi goes after Baszler, but once again, she is held back by the referees.

Outside Full Sail University, Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) says they don't need any tricks to beat The Undisputed Era, as they will take the NXT tag team titles again. Suddenly, War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) show up. They say that they made it clear that it doesn't matter who has the titles after NXT TakeOver, as they will take out the champions as well as anyone who gets in their way.

General Manager William Regal announces that EC3 will face Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, and that Adam Cole will also defend the NXT North American Championship at the event against Ricochet.

Next week: Ricochet in action! Keith Lee debuts in NXT!

Tommaso Ciampa shows up. Tommaso Ciampa pretends the NXT Championship is telling him that he deserves it, and says it deserves them and that they make a great couple before saying this is his NXT now. He says that all that he needed one moment, and he is a man of his word. He tells the fans to take a deep breath, but all they do is tell him to "shut the hell up." Ciampa then says he looks so good with the NXT Championship, and says nobody has deserved it like he did. He tells the fans to take a deep breath and enjoy it, for this is what it is like when NXT's most dangerous man takes his place at the head of the table. The fans repeatedly chant "No!" He then approaches an elderly woman that he remembers seeing in the front and tells her that he is her NXT Champion. He then gets back in the ring and, as the fans chant "You're an asshole!", says that the icing on the cake is that he not only beat Aleister Black, but Johnny Gargano once again proved that he is a failure and that Gargano loses and he wins. The crowd alternates between "Johnny Wrestling" and "Johnny sucks!" chants as Ciampa says Gargano and Aleister are two of the top talents in the world, but he is the one that ended Gargano's fairy tale with his hands cuffed and put the final nail in the coffin of Aleister's mystique. He says Aleister and Gargano can bicker over who is better all they want, but there is no dispute that he is so much better than whoever is #2 and that he is untouchable. He says that now that he is NXT Champion, NXT is now the A-show and he is the greatest sports entertainer of all time. He then sits in the middle of the ring like Aleister Black in the middle of the ring until Aleister shows up. Aleister walks to the ring, but Gargano all heads to the ring faster than Aleister is walking and overpowers Ciampa, who then escapes over the barricade. Gargano says NXT does not belong to Ciampa while he is still breathing, and that Ciampa is only NXT Champion because of him. As Gargano continues to repeat that last statement, Aleister nearly kicks Gargano's head off and knocks him down. The crowd chants "You deserve it!" to Gargano. Aleister then takes the microphone and tells Gargano that Ciampa is indeed NXT Champion because of him before leaving.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 27, 2018

Aleister Black shows up to start tonight's show. Aleister says that adversity and how you deal with it defines you as a champion, and at NXT TakeOver; Chicago II, adversity was Lars Sullivan, who Aleister says is truly a freak among nature. Nevertheless, he made adversity fade to black. Suddenly, Tommaso Ciampa shows up, and tells Aleister that he stood up to adversity, but it is now time to stand up to the devil. Ciampa says he can see through Aleister, and while he is NXT Champion, he thinks the title made Aleister and not the other way around. He says Aleister barely squeaked by Lars Sullivan while he beat Johnny Gargano in a Chicago Street Fight with his hands tied behind his back, and now that "the Gargano fairy tale" is behind him, he is focusing on the NXT title as Aleister has something he wants. Aleister asks Ciampa if he likes the sound of his own voice, and tells him that if General Manager William Regal makes the match, he will knock his lights out. Ciampa tells Aleister to watch what he says, for when he steps in the ring and beats him, he will lose his mystique along with the title. He then says all he needs is one title opportunity and one moment, and in that moment, his title reign will fade to black. Ciampa waves goodbye and backs away as Aleister approaches him.

It is revealed that Lars Sullivan fought half his NXT Championship match against Aleister Black at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II with a broken jaw.

We see footage from earlier today of Vanessa Borne outside of the Performance Center. Vanessa wants to know why Kairi Sane dresses like a pirate, then says it is stupid and that people should be admiring her over Kairi Sane. O'Reilly calls Moustache Mountain's title victory was a fluke and that it was the UK crowd's fault, and Roderick Strong calls them phonies. Cole says they will make sure they will not leave America with the tag titles, and this is their era and they are living in it. Suddenly, Ricochet runs into the ring and dares The Undisputed Era to get in the ring.

The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) beat Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) and Ricochet. Generation NXT - NXT recap for May 16, 2018

Tommaso Ciampa shows up to start tonight's show. Ciampa says Johnny Gargano may have won the battle, but he will always win the war, and that is why he is here while Gargano is sitting at home in a neck brace he put him in. He goes on to say he has broken him piece by piece - his heart, his mind, his spirit and now his body - and now Gargano is gone and he wins. As the crowd chants "You tapped out!," Candice LeRae shows up and confronts Ciampa. Candice takes the microphone and asks who Ciampa is, saying she thought she knew him but now does not recognize what he has become. She does not know why he is bent on ruining her and Gargano's lives, and says the only thing broken is Ciampa. She then says she is tired shedding tears for his cruelty, as he is a monster he will never forgive, and while Gargano's future may be uncertain, Gargano was always better than Ciampa. Candice tosses the microphone away, then Ciampa picks it up, and says that maybe Gargano was better than him, but Gargano is only half the man he is since Candice is here in the ring for him. Ciampa then says that he lived with them for two years and that Candice was always more of a man that Gargano was, and that during the wedding, all he thought about was how Candice could be marrying Gargano. This earns him a slap in the face. Ciampa smiles, then waves goodbye to Candice before stepping out of the ring. Candice then leaves as Ciampa says "I win."
