Winter Is Coming - Collision recap for December 14, 2024

In backstage footage after Dynamite, Will Ospreay catches up with Darby Allin and thanks him for the assistance, and Darby says he had the same feeling as when "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Chuck Taylor was taken out. Darby then says he and Ospreay need to take out The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Marina Shafir), but Ospreay is more preoccupied with the Continental Classic and regaining his momentum after back-to-back pay-per-view losses. Darby says he does not care about Ospreay's personal problems and says this is bigger than them and AEW, and that there may not be another Continental Classic next year if they do not do something while The Death Riders chip away at the company. Ospreays says he needs to win the Continental Classic and regain momentum, and tells Darby Allin that he respects what he has done before telling him to knock on his door when the tournament is over.

We hear from Mark Briscoe, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada and The Beast Mortos before their matches tonight in the Continental Classic.

Willow Nightingale beats Jamie Hayter in the finals of the Wrestle Dynasty International Women's Cup Qualifiers. During the match, the lights briefly go out before coming back on. After the match, the lights go back out as Hayter is in the middle of the ring, and when they come back on, Julia Hart is in there with her, and she hits Hayter with a DDT.

We hear from Brody King, who calls Ricochet a coward he has no respect for how he beat him in the Continental Classic. We also hear from Claudio Castagnoli, who says that he is not losing sight of the bigger picture while others would trade victory for success and would rather win a hundred matches than win the war.

"The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada beats The Beast Mortos via pinfall in the Blue League of the Continental Classic. "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada scores three points and is now at seven points. The Beast Mortos still has zero points, and is mathematically eliminated from winning the tournament.

Toni Storm beats Shazza McKenzie. After the match, Toni Storm says that she is officially All Elite.

In backstage footage from after Dynamite, "The Glamour" Mariah May says she does not give a fuck about Toni Storm and that the same thing that happened to Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa will happen to Thunder Rosa. She says that every woman who she steps into the ring with has the same hopes and dreams only to wish they were never born, then says Mina needs to go back to modeling because her wrestling career is over. Mariah says she did not want to do this and that she and Mina are still friends, but this is just what she does, and she will continue to do to any girl who wants to breathe the same air as her because they cannot handle "the woman from Hell." She tells Thunder Rosa to keep complaining about whatever "batshit crazy bullshit" she wants to do and tells her to name the time and place, as she will end her life as well as anyone to steps up to her. She says every woman has the same dream, but there is only one reality.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Thunder Rosa. Thunder Rosa says she remembers when she became AEW Women's World Champion, and says the only thing that matters other than who you are when you are champion is who you are when you are not. Thunder Rosa says she knows she is a champion. Suddenly, Toni Storm re-introduces herself to Thunder Rosa and Tony Schiavone as if she does not know them, then lets the interview continue. Thunder Rosa says that her father will watch her fight, and that she has a handful of dirt from the gravyards of Tijuana not only to remind herself of where she came from, but where she is taking Mariah. Thunder Rosa says that at Worlds End, she will face Mariah in a Tijuana Street Fight.

Lio Rush and Action Andretti beat Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) after Lio Rush knocks Dante Martin into Leila Grey on the outside with a tope suicida.

Kris Statlander beats Tootie Lynn.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling says The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods) have allowed the fans to join in on their pre-game cheer. The Premier Atheletes are soon told that they suck.

Orange Cassidy, Komander, Daniel Garcia and The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) beat Johnny TV, The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Josh Woods), MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden) in a ten-man tag match.

Backstage, we hear from Don Callis. Callis says he had a bad night last night after Mark Davis and Powerhouse Hobbs did a switcheroo on his family and that he woke up with a hole in his heart until he received some good news. He says the gods have smiled upon him, as in two weeks at Worlds End, he will get his revenge on Hobbs as "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita's match against Hobbs for the AEW International Championship has been granted. Callis says he cannot wait, then says that "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher is getting ready for tonight's main event so he can mathematically ensure that he goes on to Worlds End and wins the Continental Championship.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Mark Briscoe beats "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher in the Blue League of the Continental Classic via pinfall with less than a minute left in the match. Mark Briscoe earns three points for a total of six points. "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher is still in the lead and still has nine points. After the match, Mark Briscoe celebrates with Orange Cassidy and Willow Nightingale.

Backstage, The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Marina Shafir) have commandeered a camera. Moxley says FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) is "getting lost on their way home tonight," and they wait as FTR moves past with their bags. Suddenly, Marina Shafir stands in front of them, and Claudio, PAC and Moxley abduct FTR while Wheeler captures it all on camera.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Kris Statlander. Statlander says she has not stopped thinking about her match at Full Gear, and neither has Mercedes Moné, who Statlander admits is everything that she says she is. Statlander says she came out of the match pretty beat up and that her next step forward is to just keep moving forward, and that she will be wrestling tomorrow night on Collision and every night after that and that she will be watching Anna Jay's upcoming match for the TBS Championship against Mercedes. Statlander then warns the winner of that match that she has unfinished business with the TBS title.

Tony Schiavone interviews The Don Callis Family (Don Callis, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher, "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita, Lance Archer). Don Callis says he is in the "getting over and making money business," as is the rest of his family, who he puts on a pedestal before asking Will Ospreay how it feels to be dominated by Kyle Fletcher and unable to be the same again. Callis also praises Fletcher for beating "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic before asking Okada "How does it feel...bitch?" Callis then hands Fletcher the microphone, and Fletcher says the fans can boo him and cheer for Ospreay all they want, as it changes absolutely nothing as he is 25 years old, wearing a watch that costs more than the fans' cars, and he is winning the Continental Classic. He then tells Mark Briscoe to bring more than his redneck kung fu, as winning the Continental Classic is his destiny and nobody gets in the way of him and his destiny. Callis calls his family "the one-percenters of AEW" and says there is nobody big or bad enough to get in the ring with them.

Mark Davis and Powerhouse Hobbs beat The Don Callis Family (Lance Archer and "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita). After the match, Takeshita tries to hit Hobbs with the AEW International Championship, but Hobbs blocks it, hits Takeshita with a spinebuster, and holds up the International Championship above a downed Takeshita to end the show.

He says that the twentieth anniversary is all about the fans, who are the lifeblood that makes TNA go, and that they are all celebrating together.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Frankie Kazarian when The System shows up and Alisha makes fun of Gia's accent. Myers says they are successful because they know how to play the game, and tells Kazarian there are perks to being friends with them. Kazarian says they have a common enemy and that he will help with their "Nic Nemeth problem," but he wants a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in return. Backstage, Steve Maclin meets with Mike Santana regarding The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz), and says that the only way to deal with them is to team together.
