Generation NXT - NXT recap for May 2, 2018

We hear from The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong). Adam Cole says that he made Oney Lorcan famous when Oney failed to take the North American title from him. Kyle O'Reilly says Danny Burch got what he deserved for sticking his nose in their business, and Bobby Fish says that all The Undisputed Era has to do is say the word, and they will be sending some more people to rehab soon. Roderick Strong then brags about turning on Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, and says it will pale in comparison to what he will do to him tonight.

Kairi Sane beats Shazza McKenzie. (This is Shazza's first appearance on NXT television since losing to Emma in 2015.) After the match, Lacey Evans shows up and says a true lady with class has to be able to admit they were wrong. She says she is sorry to Kairi Sane, and says that from her debut in the Mae Young Classic to now, Kairi belongs in NXT. She hopes that she can accept her apology, then extends her hand. Kairi refuses to shake hands with her, and Lacey Evans hits her with a cheap shot.

Cathy Kelley interviews Candice LeRae backstage. She says that this has not been an easy year after what Johnny Gargano has gone through, but now it has been up and down ever since Tommaso Ciampa turned on him. She says that this should be over and done with, but now Ciampa has stretchered her husband Gargano out of the building. She tears up and leaves to get ready for her match, never providing an update on Gargano.

We see a vignette for Lars Sullivan, where he says that he touched championship gold at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans and warns that he is going after anyone with a title as the era of destruction will begin.

TM61 (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) beat Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) after Shane Thorne puts Nick Miller's feet on the ropes following the reversal of a Sunset Flip by Montez Ford.

Next week: War Raiders (Hanson and Raymond Rowe) vs. Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic)!

"The Finest" Kona Reeves is up next!

Cathy Kelley interviews Kassius Ohno. He has known Johnny Gargano for over ten years and knows what kind of person is, but he also knows the person that Tommaso Ciampa has become, and he calls him a coward. When he saw Gargano get stretchered out, he wanted to make Ciampa feel just as helpless, and now he wants to put words into action.

"The Finest" Kona Reeves beats Patrick Scott.

Next week: Ethan Carter III makes his NXT television debut!

We see footage from earlier today where Dakota Kai talks about the state of the NXT Women's Division. She says she wants to make her mark in NXT. She refuses to say anything about "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, and Vanessa Borne mocks Dakota Kai before saying she will slap Baszler in the face and saying she is not afraid of anyone. Dakota Kai says that she is not afraid of her despite her issues with Baszler, and Vanessa Borne leaves in a huff. Dakota then tells reporters she can take Vanessa on.

Bianca Belair beats Candice LeRae after showing off her impressive strength.

Next week: Raul Mendoza vs. Ethan Carter III! Kassius Ohno vs. Tommaso Ciampa!

Pete Dunne beats Roderick Strong by disqualification after Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly get involved in the match after Pete Dunne hits the Bitter End. After the match, O'Reilly and Cole stomp Pete Dunne (and O'Reilly loses one of his shoes in the process), then Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch run in to make the save for Pete Dunne. Dunne tosses O'Reilly's shoe back at Roderick Strong.
