Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 14, 2018

At the show, we see video from the NBCUniversal upfront where Nia Jax asks "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey if she can become the Raw Women's Champion.

Roman Reigns shows up to starts tonight's show. Roman says that he got robbed last week, and this time it was by Jinder Mahal and not WWE management. He tells Jinder that if he wants to be more relevant than he has ever been, all he has to do is face him in the ring like a man. Instead of getting Jinder Mahal, however, Roman gets General Manager Kurt Angle instead. Angle tells Roman that Jinder will not be coming to the ring, and that he speaks for WWE management and not Jinder when Roman asks him when he started speaking for Jinder. He also says that he was thinking emotionally when he kept Jinder Mahal out of any opportunities for the Money In The Bank Ladder Match, and says he should have thought logically, saying it is what is best for business. He then says as a former WWE Champion, Jinder will face Bobby Lashley and Elias in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for Money In The Bank. Roman wants to be in the match to make it a Fatal 4-Way. Angle says that will not happen, and says that WWE management has made it clear he will get no more qualifying opportunities. He does not blame Roman for being upset, but Roman says he gets it. After saying that Angle is doing what he has to do, Roman says it is time for him to do what he has to do, and heads to the back. Angle follows Roman to the back, and the scene shifts to the backstage area. Roman looks for Jinder, and eventually finds him and Sunil Singh. Jinder throws Sunil into Roman before beating him up. After Roman drives a wooden box into Jinder, the brawl goes back to the stage. Roman hits Jinder with a Superman Punch. Referees and officials catch up with Roman, allowing Jinder to retreat.

Seth Rollins retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kevin Owens.

We see footage from the NBCUniversal upfront where Cathy Kelley interviews "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey, who says she has a hard road ahead of her. Charlotte Flair shows up and asks Ronda if she can "woo." Nia Jax then shows up and asks Rousey if she can become Raw Women's Championship, and tells her that she is defending the title against her in her obligatory title defense. Ronda does not feel deserving of the shot, but after some goading from Charlotte, she accepts the challenge. "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax for the WWE Raw Women's Championship is now official for Money In The Bank.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is met by Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, who want a tag team championship match, as they want to stand on their own two feet. After A-Team is revealed to be taken as well as a B-Team joke (with Bo saying "B" stands for "Best"), Angle tells them they have not won one match and that they lost to the tag team champions. Despite that loss, Bo says they are undefeated. Angle says he won't put them in a title match, but says he will give them a match if they leave him alone for the rest of the night.

Bobby Roode beats No Way Jose and Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is met by Kevin Owens, who demands a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship or else he will call Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Angle says he is tired of the threats, but Owens says the threat will become reality. Angle then walks into the trainer's room. He tells Jinder that Roman Reigns has the rest of the night off, and that Jinder will still be in his qualifying match with Elias and Bobby Lashley.

Bo and Axel still cannot believe they have won, and say they are coming for the Raw tag team titles.

Sasha Banks, Natalya and Ember Moon beat The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan) with a Sharpshooter to Liv Morgan.

We hear from Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says the locker room has gone soft and has become a buffet table where everyone stuff their faces, and Dolph says Braun Strowman and Finn Balor are all smoke and mirrors. McIntyre says the Superstars have lost the fire in their eyes, and that they here to "flip the damn table over."

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt beat The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder).

Bayley meets Sasha Banks backstage. Sasha wishes Bayley luck tonight. Bayley simply says "Thanks."

Sami Zayn is in the ring. He asks if it has occurred to anyone else that Prince Harry looks like him and that he has heard he is a big fan of his. He then talks about Bobby Lashley left WWE for ten years and came back to Raw the same time he did to make an impact at his expense. Sami says nobody cared about the effects Bobby Lashley's vertical suplex would have on him, and says that he contracted vertigo from the move. He then pulls out a doctor's note stating defining what vertigo is, then blames Lashley for every match he has lost since then and says Lashley victimized him. After mentioning Lashley's interview with Renee Young from last week, he says Lashley targeted him because he wants to be him, calling the hat he was wearing in the interview proof of this. He also says Lashley has something to hide, and he went on Facebook and reached out to Lashley's three sisters. He says they have a story to tell, as they are nothing Lashley described them to be and that Lashley is not the person he portrays himself to be, either. He then says that he has invited his three sister to show up to next week's Raw, when he exposes the real Bobby Lashley.

Alexa Bliss beats Bayley and Mickie James in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle says Jinder's match must go on and that he must find Jinder's replacement.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre beat Finn Balor and Braun Strowman after Strowman pushes McIntyre into his Greatest Royal Rumble trophy and Ziggler gets a pin on a distracted Finn Balor.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is on the phone with Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. He says that he has sent Roman Reigns and has a perfect replacement for Jinder Mahal, but Stephanie tells him to give a certain somebody another opportunity.

Kevin Owens interrupts Elias before the next match, revealing that he is the replacement for Jinder Mahal in the next match.

Kevin Owens beats Elias and Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match after Sami Zayn drags Lashley out of a pinfall attempt and hits him with a Helluva Kick at the barricade.
