Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Matt Riddle, but he is soon interrupted by Adam Cole, who says that Riddle is clueless for thinking he is deserving of a North American title shot when the title is coming back to him. Riddle challenges Adam Cole to a match, then leaves.
"The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler guests on commentary for the next match.
Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair in a #1 Contender's Match for the NXT Women's Championship ends in a no-contest. During the match, Baszler leaves the commentary table and pulls Shirai out of the ring, end the match. She then puts Bianca in the Kirafuda Clutch. Kairi Sane runs into the ring and fights Baszler, but is also put in a Kirafuda Clutch and sent into unconsciousness. Shirai beats Baszler off of Kairi Sane and tosses her out of the ring, then checks on Kairi Sane. Baszler rushes back into the ring and puts Shirai in the Kirafuda Clutch as well.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, who says there is no a single woman who is deserving of a shot at her title and that she just proved it. When told she will defend her title against Bianca Belair, Kairi Sane and Io Shirai at NXT TakeOver: New York due to her actions, Baszler simply walks away.
Aleister Black and Ricochet beat #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) to advance to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. After the match, Candice LeRae checks on Johnny Gargano, who hurt his leg during the match. Ciampa and LeRae help Gargano to the back. Gargano almost falls at the top of the ramp, and Ciampa helps him up. Ciampa almost slams him into the LED board, but Gargano sees it coming, slams Ciampa into it instead, then superkicks him.
