Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 10, 2000

RAW

The WWF locker room surrounds the ringside area - much to the confusion of Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler - then The Rock shows up. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) are seen watching the broadcast from backstage, apparently having no idea what is going on, either. He explains that everyone surrounding him has asked him to be their spokesperson, and as unaccustomed to public speaking as he is, he has agreed. He calls out Triple H and Stephanie, and after a few minutes, they show up. Stephanie says she does not know what everyone is up to, but she is confident they can work something out. The Rock tells Stephanie to know her role and shut her mouth, then brings up the firing of Mick Foley aka Mankind. He says that Mick Foley is in the parking lot outside, and also mentions that the entire locker room is ready to walk out and join the "World Rock Federation" if they do not meet their demands. He demands that Mick Foley be reinstated immediately. Triple H tells The Rock that if he wants Mick Foley back, he's got it, but it was already in the works and that he and Stephanie were going to reinstate him, anyway. The Rock then mentions the matches he has been in lately, and says there is no way any matches like the Pink Slip On A Pole Match and the Handicap You're Fired Match will ever happen again. Stephanie says that seems fair, then The Rock acknowledges the "slut" chants directed towards Stephanie. Triple H says, "I thought they were talking to you, Rock." The Rock then demands that if anyone is fired, it will be for just cause only. Triple H says that this is fair, too, and as he says that he and Stephanie are all about fairness, Mankind's entrance plays, but Triple H lies in wait for him. Instead of coming out through the stage, however, Mankind shows up through the crowd. He acknowledges "the dozens of Mankind fans" who sent out their cards and letters, and thanks The Rock for not only the kind words about him in his new work, but sticking his neck out on the line in support of him. As far as the McMahon-Helmsley Era, he condemns them for ridiculing and mocking him and his family before proposing some suggestions of his own for Royal Rumble. He wants a match against Triple H at the event for the WWF Championship, with stipulations to be named at a later date. He tells Triple H to make up his mind and quickly, as over 50 men are about to walk out. Triple H tells Mankind he has his match with him at Royal Rumble, but before Mankind say more, The Rock takes the microphone. He says he will take it up himself to include himself in another match at Royal Rumble. As The People's Champion, he will throw his name into the hat for the 30-man Royal Rumble Match, and says he will take 29 other jabronis over the top rope to face Triple H or Mankind, whoever is champion. Mankind tells The Rock not to waste all his time on Royal Rumble, as they have 20,000 fans right now and they might as well come up with "a damn good show." Mankind proposes a match between "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn to see who the tougher New Age Outlaw is, and if it is not booked, everyone will walk. Backstage, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are not happy. He also has another idea: since Triple H told X-Pac he is just as good as Triple H last week on SmackDown, he also proposes a match between Triple H and X-Pac. X-Pac doesn't seem to be very happy, either. Triple H and Stephanie are about to leave, but The Rock tells them they are not done. He proposes one more match, should D-Generation X survive: DX vs. The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw). Triple H accepts the match, but The Rock says he is still not done. He also says that The Acoltyes will not be alone, as they will be teaming up him and Mankind.

During the break, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are confronted by the rest of D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) for caving to The Rock and Mankind's demands.

"Road Dogg" Jesse James beats "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn after reversing the Fameasser into a pump handle slam. During the match, it is reported that there is a sign-up sheet backstage where the WWF locker room have signed on to to book their own matches. After the match, Billy Gunn refuses to shake Road Dogg's hand.

Mankind finds the fake Mankind and ties him up with another rope while daring him to be funny again.

Terri Runnels signs The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) up for a match.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says he and the St. Louis Rams have a lot in common. They are both full of intensity, integirty and intelligence, but unlike the Rams, he beats people with winning records. He then questions why people would boo an Olympic champion,a nd cheer Rams quarterback Kurt Warner, "a former arena football player who happens to be on a lucky streak."

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat Kurt Angle and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman in their first match together since Matt's injry when Jeff hits Blackman from behind with a drop kick from the top rope as Blackman has a weapon in his hand, sending Blackman into a Twist f Fate by Matt.

Mankind tortures the fake Mankind into laughing with him.

Edge tells Christian that they have gotten the match that they wanted tonight.

Chris Jericho tells Chyna that she taught him a lesson last week, and that if they team up together, there is nobody they can beat. He asks Chyna to sign them up for a match. He also tries to take the Intercontinental title, but Chyna does not let him.

Before the next match, it is announced that Edge is engaged to Val Venis' sister, Alannah. Val Venis announces this, and tells Edge that he may have what it takes to win her hand in marriage, but he does not have half of what it takes to beat him for the WWF European Championship. When Edge and Christian show up, the orange lights and graphic show up around the arena again.

Val Venis retains the WWF European Championship against Edge. After the match, both men shake hands, then Edge tells Val Venis that he may have been the best man tonight, but he will not be the best man at his sister's wedding, because Christian will be. Both men continue to show respect.

X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn are seen arguing with one another in the locker room.

WAR ZONE

Before the next match, Chris Jericho tells Chyna that together, they will absolutely destroy The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly), and syas it is weird that she came out with the Intercotinental Championship, but he got the better audience response.

The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly) beat Chris Jericho and Chyna after Jericho denies Chyna the possibility of tagging him into the match After the match, Jericho leaves with the Intercontinental Championship and laughs .

Mankind totures the fake Mankind by pouring hot coffee on him.

X-Pac asks Triple H if he is ready for his match tonight, and asks Triple H if he meant it when he said that he is every bit as good as him. Triple H says he did...and that is the problem.

Triple H beats X-Pac after WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley pulls X-Pac off the top rope by his left foot.

The Rock's new book The Rock Says..., along with an exclusive new T-shirt, is available on WWF Shop Zone.

X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn are now angry with Triple H backstage.

Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay, Scotty 2 Hotty, Rikishi Phatu) beats Al Snow and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh). After the match, Al Snow turns on The Headbangers by hitting both of them with Head.

Mankind is considering untying the fake Mankind, and says that if he has not learned his lesson, he will turn him around and make him watch an hour of Al Snow matches.

WWF New York is now open for a sneak preview of the grand opening later this month in Times Square in New York City.

Mankind unties the fake mankind, but tells him not to mistake his kindness for weakness or it will be the last mistake he ever makes. He also tells him to stay in the room until he comes back.

The Godfather and D'Lo Brown vs. The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) ends in a double count-out after The Dudley Boyz try to steal The Godfather's hos.

Mankind finds Tori backstage, admits that he likes her breasts and says he has a list of about seventeen things he would like to do them. After inviting her to his dressing room, he slaps her on the buttocks before telling her to bring a friend as there is "plenty of Mankind to go around."

Test and Big Show quickly The Big Boss Man and Prince Albert after Big Boss Man inadvertently nails Albert in the back of the head with his nightstick after being roundhouse kicked by Big Show. After the match, Albert pushes Big Boss Man to the mat, then Big Show choke slams both men.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) slowly makes their way to the ring, one member at a time, as they cannot seem to trust Triple H. We also see footage from last week of The Rock signing copies of his new book The Rock Says... at Tower Records in New York City.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat The Acolytes (Faarooq and Brashaw), The Rock and Mankind. During the match, the rest of DX turns on Triple H and head to the back, and The Rock and The Acolytes follow them there, brawling with them on their way tot he back and leaving Mankind and Triple H alone in the ring. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley gets on the apron and almost falls victim to the Mandible Claw, but Triple H gets Mankind off of her before he can do it. Triple H clocks Mankind with the ring bell before hitting him with a Pedigree into the commentary table. Triple H then hits Mankind with another Pedigree in the middle of the ring to win the match. After the match, Triple H knocks out referee Tim White before hammering a now-bleeding Mankind with a couple of right hands. Mankind fights back and rips his mask off, hitting Triple H with a few rights of his own. He then throws the steel steps at Triple H's head when Triple H tumbles out of the ring, and after a ringside brawl, Mankind clotheslines Triple H out of the ring.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 27, 1999

RAW

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up to start tonight's show. Triple H says it is the final Raw before a new millennium, and he finds it fitting that the McMahon-Helmsley Era is running the show. He says it does not matter what happened in the last 1,000 years; what matters is right here, right now, where they are the be-all and end-all of the WWF, as the crowd is witnessing the near-perfect completion of a perfect plan. It is only near-perfect as there is one more thing to accomplish: taking back the WWF Championship. Tonight, Big Show will be the completion of their plan when he steps into the ring with the single-greatest wrestler of all time - himself - and help him complete that plan when he beats him for the WWF Championship. Stephanie declares that the McMahon-Helmsley Era is going strong into the new millennium, but last Thursday on SmackDown, he kept his word, and tonight, Kane will have to face X-Pac. She says a McMahon always keeps their word unless they are forced to break it, and Mankind forced her to break her word on SmackDown, and says there will be no mutiny or rebel rousing. Triple H says the guys in the back need to realize it will be a lot easier to be with them than against them, and Mankind is a prime example of exactly that, saying that instead of rallying forces against them in the back, he will have learned that they are the power and everyone else will learn eventually. Mankind shows up, and says there will be unionizing, rebel rousing or mutiny, as he is all by himself. However, he has a lot on his mind and ponts to make pertaining to DX, and he will make those points tonight. He, like a lot of people, used to think that DX was "pretty cool," and that it was almost a year ago that DX hoisted him above their shoulders when he won the WWF Championship for the very first time. Almost a year later, instead of seeing cool guys, he sees a bunch of pointless cowards scurrying like cowards to their overbearing parents. He tells Road Doog to look at himself and ask what it felt like to take an elbow from Test, when he is one of the most creative people in the company, but he has been reduced to being Triple H's bootlicker. He also asks Billy Gunn how it felt to have Kane's hand around his throat, and instead of "Mr. Ass," he wants to call him "Mr. Ass Kisser." He then says it is good X-Pac was on hiatus, and he would have been thrown to the wolves last Thursday, too. He knows Triple H is out for the WWF Championship and cares for nothing else, and as he gets in the ring, he says that when he takes the WWF Championship, he will leave DX high and dry as he does not care about anybody else in the group. He then tells Stephanie that The Godfather wants her in the back with the other hos. Not surprisingly, he gets attacked by DX, but The Rock almost immediately runs into the ring and quickly cleans house single-handedly. DX runs to the stage, and Triple H says he is sick of this, and says this place is not big enough for all three of them and that somebody has to leave. After Stephanie whispers in his ear, Triple H announces that we have seen the last of "The Rock 'n Sock Connection" and that they will never be seen together again, for tonight, both Mankind and The Rock will fight each other in a Pink Slip On A Pole Match, and whoever loses is gone for good. Triple H declares that DX has the last laugh, and they have two words for one of them: you're fired.

Kane is seen backstage waiting for Tori.

Chyna and The Kat make their way to the ring. Chyna says that if Crash Holly wants to challenge her to a match and talk trash behind her back, then he can come to the ring right now. Hardcore and Holly Crash show up, then Hardcore Holly guests on commentary after Crash hits Chyna with a cheap shot. It is then announced that Tori has arrived to the arena.

Chyna beats Crash Holly.

Tori is seen hugging Kane backstage, then tells him her weekend was absolutely incredible and that X-Pac was a gentleman. She could have left any time he wanted, but she stayed to honor his commitment. Nevertheless, Kane was the only thing she tought of the whole time, then offers to grab him some coffee.

Tori is seen talking to The Brooklyn Brawler about her weekend. When Test wraps his arm around her shoulder and talks to her, however, Tori gets nervous and scared and moves away. Test has no idea what is going on.

Before the next match, it is announced that Pete Gas is the special guest timekeeper, Joey Abs the special guest referee, and Rodney the special guest ring announcer for the next match. Rodney goes on to make fun of the first three teams as he announces them, then calls The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) the single greatest-team in the WWF and their good friends in order to keep them from beating them up.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) beat The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw), the team of The Godfather and D'Lo Brown and the team of Edge and Christian in a Four Corners Tag Team Match. During the match, Rodney and Pete Gas attack Bradshaw, and The Dudley Boyz double-team Faarooq from behind. They win the match after a fast count from Joey Abs. After the match, Bradshaw grabs a steel chair and hits all three members of THe Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) before he and Faarooq hit them with double-team maneuvers.

In the locker room, Kane asks Tori to calm down. Tori is crying as she says that Test touched her and said inappropriate things to her. Kane is crying as he hugs her.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley tells Triple H that it is about time that he bought her a diamond as the camera is centered on her diamond ring. Triple H says it took a while, but admits it is a heck of a rock. Speaking of a rock, either The Rock and Mankind are getting fired tonight. Stephanie says that Big SHow is also going down, as a new millennium needs a new WWF Champion in Triple H. He also says Kurt Angle's undefeated streak needs to come to an end, and that Angle will be in a handicap match against The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) now that Stephanie has told "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman top stop interfering in Angle's matches. Stephanie asks Triple H why he would want to do that. Suddenly, Kane and Tori show up, and Kane wants Test. Tori asks Triple H to make the match against Test and not X-Pac, and Triple H makes the match.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says everyone is aware of who he is and what his accomplishments are, as well as his "3 I's" - intensity, integrity and intelligence. He also says that just like other cities in America, Greensboro, North Carolina does not have the most intelligent people in the world, nor will they ever. However, two out of three ain't bad, and if they stick to the intensity and integrity, they will do just fine.

Kurt Angle beats The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) in a 2-on-1 handicap match. During the match, "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman shows up and hits Mosh with a Kendo Stick as Thrasher distracts the referee, and this allows Angle to win the match. After the match, The Headbangers continues to attack Kurt Angle with a double-team powerbomb-leg drop combination, but Blackman gets back in the ring and scares them off with the Kendo stick.

Backstage, Triple H is aggravated that Kurt Angle has just won tonight, Stephanie says "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman is not a rocket scientist and that must have forogtten, then says that Angle is a pretty good wrestler, just like Triple H. Triple H says he would kill Angle in the ring.

Michael Cole interviews Mankind backstage. Mankind says it is the stupidest thing he has ever heard of, and hates himself for carrying through with it. He admits that The Rock is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, but admits his own career is winding down and The Rock's best days are far ahead of him. It would be a shame for either him or The Rock to leave, and he asks the fans to forgive him if he does a few things are uncharacteristic of him, but at the same time, he has to do what he has to do.

The orange lights and logo show up before the next match.

Before the next match, Al Snow says he is not out here tonight for the fan's entertainment, as he has been in the business for 17 years. In those 17 years, he has made a lot of sacrifices, giving up watching his children grow up, spending long stretches away from his wife, and losing his best friend. He says he has done this for "a bunch of ungrateful, disrespectful people" who will not even acknowledge that they watched him wrestle the next day. He wants everyone in the arena and at home to know that some TV write did not tell him to come out and says this, and that he is saying this from his heart: he hates the fans. He says this is where he will draw the line, and he will not make another single sacrifice. Suddenly, Chris Jericho interrupts him. He says he was listening to Al SNow's prblems and grievances, and he has a solution: shutting the hell up. He also says that people will acknowledge him tomorrow when he is brutally beaten by the Ayatollah of Rock 'n Rollah.

Al Snow beats Chris Jericho by disqualification after Chyna shows up and hits Al Snow with Head. Chris Jericho retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

"Sexual Chocolate' Mark Henry asks Harvey Wippleman to go on a double date with him, Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah. Harvey says the only way he will do it is if Moolah puts him in an inescapable wrestling hold. Moolah then grabs him by the ear and threatens to do just that. Wippleman says he will go only because Mark is his friend.

WAR ZONE

The Rock beats Mankind in a Pink Slip On A Pole Match. As a result, Mankind is fied from the World Wrestling Federation. During the match, D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) is seen watching the match in the locker room. Shortly after this, Al Snow shows up and hits The Rock with Head, then tries to revive Mankind so he can climb to the top and grab the pink slip. Mankind almost grabs it, but he comes back down, hits Al Snow with a few right hands and throws him out of the ring. He then runs into a Rock Bottom, and Al Snow is heard saying that is the last time he will ever help Mankind. After the match, DX and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are seen celebrating in the locker room. Mankind then gets a standing ovation from the crowd, and says there is never any shame to losing to The Rock, though there is shame in the way it came about. He planned to call it quits sometime in the year 2000, but by his calculations, it's still 1999 and what just happened "kinda sucks." He says he has given the world a lot to remember him by, and ask the crowd that, when they are bored, to take out a Mick Foley tape, whether it be Mankind or Cactus Jack. Mankind then tells the crowd that he enjoyed every moment of those last 15 years. He then asks them not to play this match, because what happened at the hands of DX is a farce. He asks the fans to have a nice day, then the fans give him a standing ovation one more time. All the while, DX continues to mock Mankind now that he is fired.

The Godfather, Edge, Christian and Matt Hardy wish Mankind luck as he tells them to give the crowd "a little Mick Foley" every once in a while.

The team of Prince Albert and Ivory beat team of Val Venis and The Kat, the team of Viscera and Jacqueline and the team of Gangrel and Luna Vachon in the first-ever Intergender Four Corners Tag Team Match after taking advantage of the fact that Gangrel is not the legal man after Venis hits him with the Money Shot.

"Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry and Harvey Wippleman are at a restaurant as part of their double date with Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah. Mark Henry reads Mae Young another poem. Harvey does the same for The Fabulous Moolah just to mess around with her.

Mankind goes into a production truck as part of his thanking everybody on the way out.

X-Pac beats Jeff Hardy. During the match, X-Pac tries to corner Terri Runnels in the ring, but Jeff Hardy hits him from behind before he can have his way with her.

Back at the restaurant, a fan asks "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry for an autograph. Mark signs it, then the fan asks why he is such a loser. Mark laughs, and says it's not that crucial, but when the fans keeps it up, Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah beat him up. Mark Henry and Harvey Wippleman have to keep them away from her.

Before the next match, Test tells Kane that he did not inappropriately touch Tori, and that he neither needs or wants Tori as he has enough woman problems of his own. Test then tells Kane to give Tori some Prozac or Midol to chill her out. If Kane wants to fight him over nothing, however, he will not back down.

Test beats Kane by disqualification after Kane tosses referee Jimmy Korderas down before hitting Test with the Tombstone Piledriver. It is noticed that Tori is not herself after Kane hits Test with the Tombstone Piledriver.

Mankind says goodbye to the referees and officials of the WWF as well as to Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson on his way out. D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon notice that Mankind is taking his time with the goodbyes, and decides to get security involved.

Michael Cole interviews Big Show, who says that this may be the last time he holds the WWF Championship, but he knows what is going on, and he sees what Triple H does ever since he has taken over, and says Triple H has made everything into a game and has mastered putting him through hell. Big Show says he has squashed everybody he has come up against, and now Triple H wants to step in the ring with him. He will not let Triple H bet the showstopper, and tonight, it will be game over for him.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty). During the match, Rikishi hits a standing side kick on Billy Gunn at ringside, and referee Teddy Long has to keep Rikishi away from him. Grandmaster Sexay hits a leg drop from the top rope on Road Dogg, but X-Pac gets in the ring and hits Grandmaster Sexay with the X-Factor to allow the Outlaws to retain. After the match, Rikishi plants Road Dogg with a piledriver, then Too Cool brawls with X-Pac and the Outlaws, and Too Cool comes out on top as The Outlaws and X-Pac are forced to retreat.

Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley eject Mankind from the building with help from local law enforcement.

"Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry is in a hotel room bed with Mae Young. Suddenly, The Fabulous Moolah says "That's enough with that lovey-dovey crap! Whatever happened to good, old-fashioned American sex?" Harvey Wippleman is then seen next other in another bed.

Before the next match, Triple H tells Big Show that their match for the WWF Championship is a no-disqualification match. He then asks WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and the rest of D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) to stay up at the stage, as he would not want to have any interference.

Big Show retains the WWF Championship in a no-disqualification match. During the match, Triple H tosses referee Tim White to the side, then gets inadvertently whipped into him by Big Show. After this, the rest of D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) attack Big Show with a low blow and a shot to the head with the WWF Championship. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley heads to the ring as DX continue to attack Big Show, and hands Triple H a steel chair as Big Show fights back. Triple H hits Big Show with the steel chair in the head, then Mankind runs in and hits Mankind int he back with the chair as he has Big Show ready for the Pedigree. Big Show recovers and choke slams Triple H to retain the WWF Championship.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for December 23, 1999

In footage from earlier today, Mankind talks to the locker room. He thinks the McMahon-Helmsley Era stinks, and he was not the only one who felt foolish for letting Triple H fool him into a match at the end of last Monday's show. He says that Matt Hardy has a cracked cheekbone and a broken nose, and Test has a broken nose of his own. He assures "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry that there is no excuse for what happened to Mae Young on Raw, and says the Holiday Topless Top Rope Match was just an excuse to show skin, although he admits he somewhat liked it. Most importantly, nobody wanted to see The Mean Street Posse seven times in one evening. He says he feels the same way as a lot of other people do, and that he will not see it anymore. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley confronts everyone in the room. She says that she has made a lot of mistakes, with the biggest one being listening to Triple H. She says this is not the McMahon-Helmsley Era anymore; this is the McMahon era, and it is back to business. She has Test take on "Road Dogg" Jesse James, puts The Rock against Al Snow, and gives Mankind a WWF Championship match against Big Show with Triple H in a cell suspended 15 feet above the ring. The winner gets Triple H, and the five invitees to the match - Test, Edge, Christian and The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) - can have whatever is left of Triple H.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho reminds us that Burl Ives wants us to have a holly, jolly Christmas; although Hardcore Holly will have less than a jolly Christmas after he gives him a yuletide beating, for tonight he will deck the halls with "the goofballs of Holly."

Chris Jericho retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Hardcore Holly by disqualification after Crash Holly hits Jericho with the belt. After the match, Chyna runs in and tosses Crash out of the ring, then Jericho does the same thing to Hardcore Holly.

Triple H, "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn are not happy with WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley's recent actions, but Triple H reminds Road Dogg and Billy Gunn that marriage is marriage, and that this is business. He says he will think of something.

WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley tells Kane she can help him, but first he has to help her. He can give him a match against X-Pac or any member of D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) he wants in any match he wants, but she has to help him make it to Monday night as D-Generation X will want to go after her. Kane agrees to protect Stephanie from DX.

The orange lights and logo are seen before the next match.

Rikishi beats Viscera.

Test is cautious of what WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and is not buying anything she is saying. Stephanie says he'll "buy it" when D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) does not interfere in his match tonight.

The debuting Jonathan Coachman interviews The Rock. As he looks back on this previous millennium and all the historic events that took part in it - including himself raising The People's Eyebrow and declaring himself The People's Champion - he also looks back on one of the worst days in it: Al Snow being born. He says it took three men for Al Snow to beat him on Raw, but this is SmackDown, which is his show. He will do to Snow exactly what he does inside of a 15-foot-tall steel cage, and that is lay the smack down on his candy ass and deliver The People's Elbow.

Test beats "Road Dogg" Jesse James after using his protective facemask as a weapon. During the match, Triple H and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn are seen watching on a monitor from backstage, telling Billy Gunn to wait until committing to a course of action, as Road Dogg can handle himself. After the match, Triple H and Billy Gunn are livid as Test grabs a steel chair and chases Road Dogg out of the ring wth it. Referee Tim White takes it away from him, but that doesn't stop Test from chasing Road Dogg to the back. Three more referees hold Test back. Afterwards, Triple H and Billy Gunn decide to confronts WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.

D-Generation X (Triple H, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) meet with WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Kane is about to get physical, but Stephanie puts Kane in a match with Billy Gunn and tells him to hold up his end of the bargain. Triple H tells Stephanie he has made mistakes and pushed the boys too hard, but that is what happens when you have power, and he does not want to be put in a cage. Stephanie tells him this is nothing personal, and that their marriage is great, but this is business and he will have to deal with it. Stephanie McMahon there may be nothing she can do about seven beating him up, but the police can make sure that he commits to being put in a cage as well as stay in his locker room until the match happens. The cops carry Triple H out of the room.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says he loves coming down to the great state of Texas for its intensity and integrity. Unfortunately, the people in Texas are not the smartest in the world, though that does not necessarily mean that the people in Dallas, Texas are stupid. He says if they work hard enough, Texas could be known for its intelligence.

Kurt Angle beats Edge. During the match, Angle drop kicks Edge into referee Teddy Long after Edge nearly spears Teddy. "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman shows up and tries to hit Angle with a Kendo stick, but nails Edge in the head with it instead.

WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley confronts "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman, telling him to stay out of Kurt Angle's business.

Al Snow complains to WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley about having to face The Rock again while Mankind faces Big Show for the WWF Championship. Stephanie tells him he will get his WWF Championship shot shot next Monday on Raw if he beats The Rock tonight. AL Snow says he will destroy The Rock, and then do the same to Mankind later.

The Rock beats Al Snow in a Steel Cage Match.

Ivory complains to Luna Vachon, Debra and Jacqueline about having to wrestle in a mud ring. She says they have to do something now if they want to lace up their boots and wrestle in a real wrestling ring.

Ivory heads to the ring. She wonders why she has to talk about breasts every time she shows up. She is now taking things personal, as the Evening Gown Match with The Kat is a bit too much. He says this is a sports entertainment show, not adult entertainment, and she has worked too hard to establish a real women's division. She crowns herself "the class and dignity champion," and says all The Kat is foing to the Women's title is "wiping her smut all over it." She calls herself the "Women's Wrestling Champion," then calls out The Kat to any kind of anything goes match she wants with any stipulation she wants, as long as it is in the ring. The Kat shows up with Chyna, and tries to drag Chyna into the ring only to be told . Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for December 16, 1999

In footage from earlier today, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon announce that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon are not here tonight. Triple H says there was concern over last Monday night, but he and Stephanie had to assert themselves. From now on, things will be handled a little bit differently and more fairly. Some people have felt that they have been held down in the past; those people will be given a chance to shine. There are others who have had everything handed to them on a silver platter; tonight, that platter gets taken away. From top to bottom, everybody will be treated fairly. Tonight, Mankind will face Al Snow one-on-one following their problems. Also, The Rock will face Big Show for the WWF Championship. Triple H announces that tonight marks the dawn of a new era: the McMahon-Helmsley Era.

Before the next match, The Big Boss Man says that if people think what he did to Al Snow was bad and what he did to Big Show was cruel, then they should just wait until he deals with everyone else in the World Wrestling Federation. Suddenly, Chris Jericho shows up and tells Boss Man he must be sure his mother once told him not to say anything at all if he can't say anything nice. He then tells Boss Man that if he cannot say something entertainment, then he should shut the hell up, as while he is boring all the Jerichoholics, he is standing in the back waiting to show off his new and improved "Inter-Chris-tinental" belt. Since Boss Man is in the ring with Prince Albert, he might as well destroy them both Ayatollah-style. Shortly after the match starts, however, Chyna and Miss Kitty show up to watch the match from ringside. We then see Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon wining and dining backstage while watching the show, and we find out that neither of them booked the current match.

That somebody ends up being Kurt Angle (whom Triple H calls "an ostrich jerky salesman," a reference to Angle being a spokesperson for Ostrim, a beef jerky product made out of ostrich meat), who is facing Test. When Triple H hears Test's name, Triple H tries to stop her.

Triple H tells WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon that she is not going anywhere, and that is final. He does not trust Test for a second and he does not know what is capable of. He then asks Triple H to show up, and Triple H shows up with the contract on a clipboard. He tells Vince to understand the significance of signing these papers, as when they are signed, they guarantee a lot of things, such as guaranteeing him the WWF Championship, as all he needs is one shot to make it as good as his. They also guarantee him the opportunity to beat Vince's ass worse than it has ever been beaten before. He tells Vince that once he signs the contract, he faces him in a no holds barred match, one of the most dangerous matches in the world. Triple H says he can do anything he pleases to Vince is this kind of match, and then says the contract also guarantees him a lifetime of wedded bliss with Stephanie. Triple H says that he is successful in business himself, and he completed one of his most successful business ventures when he married Stephanie, as the stock options are unbelievable. He then asks Vince what his most successful business venture is, and Vince says the most successful he will do is this Sunday, when he dismembers him and sends him back to the bottom where he belongs and he wins Stephanie's freedom. Triple H says Vince understands what this means, and with everything in order, he considers going down to the ring to sign the contract when he remembers the temporary order of protection which keeps Vince from getting within 50 feet of him. Triple H has a better idea: taking the contract from his hand and getting a little smooch to go with it. Shane does it instead, and Triple H hands him the contract. Shane heads back to the ring and hands it to Vince, who notices that Triple H has not signed the contract yet. Triple H says he has learned from the best, and says to never sign last. Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 6, 1999

RAW

Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) beats The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) by disqualification. Before the match, Billy Gunn gets superkicked by Rikishi after he makes fun of his rear end. Later on in the match, The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly) show up and get involved in the match, attacking Too Cool and starting a three team brawl which also involves Rikishi and ends the match in a disqualification. (The theme that Too Cool comes out to here, which does not last for long, ends up being re-dubbed on Public Enemy's (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) entrances in WCW on the WWE Network.)

A black limousine pulls up in the arena. Out of the back door comes WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon.

Mankind shows up, and it is announced that Mankind has topped The New York Times' best-seller list for nonfiction. He thanks the fans for making his book the #1 book in the country, and tells them the entire literary world hates him and the fans for making it #1. He then says he has had his own share of problems with The Rock and Al Snow, and he brings us up to speed on the tiff between Al Snow and The Rock, and calls Al Snow out to the ring. Al Snow shows up, complains about the fans treating him like the bad guy in all of this as he cares about Mankind as a friend and says the fans do not feel the same way. He asks Mankind if he thinks that the fans will remember his book as the greatest moment of his career, and says everyone will remember the Hell In A Cell match where he fell off the top of the cell and hit the commentary table. He says that the fans were not there in the car driving him to the Red Roof Inn in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, carry his bags and get him out of bed the next morning, and they will not be there when he is old, crippled and unable to play with his kids as they will forget about him like his old news. He says the fans do not care about Mankind, and neither does The Rock. Mankind says that anybody who saw them in Las Vegas knows they are friends and that he is friends with a few people in the back, but just because he is friends with Gerald Brisco does not mean he is going to hammer out a few dents in the body shop with him. He also says he is friends with Joe C, but that does not mean he will go out on the road and rap with Kid Rock. When he gets in the ring, he likes being part of "The Rock 'n Sock Connection." Al Snow says he has seen Mankind get out of the car barely able to move, and he refuses to stand by and let Mankind debase himself into a clown for the fans and make himself into a "suck-up brownnose" for The Rock. Mankind asks Al Snow if he remembers "This Is Your Life," he did not sustain one concussion and that he played the fool on purpose and knew it, as he stuck around for three reasons: he liked, The Rock liked it and the fans liked it. He then says "The Rock 'n Sock Connection" were good as a team, but he and Al Snow sucked. Snow says he will go to the back, find a tag team partner, and take on "The Rock 'n Sock Connection." Mankind doesn't want to wrestle Al, but at the same time, the fans would enjoy The Rock getting a pice of Al Snow's ass, and accepts his challenge. Snow then asks him one more question, and asks him how hurt and let down he felt when The Rock tossed his book in the garbage and he ended up turning his back on The Rock, then says that is how he felt after reading his book and all the Al Snow jokes. He says the book is garbage and that he is the one who threw it in the trash to show how real of a friend The Rock was. As Mankind tries to process this, Al Snow hits Mankind in the head with the microphone, starting a brawl. Referees and officials have to restore order.

WWF Chairman Vince McMahon agrees to let WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon deal with Triple H her way, but makes it clear that if she provokes him and he lays a hand on her, the court order is going right out of the window, he will come for him, and he will not give a damn. Stephanie says she will not provoke him, but she will take care of it her way, and she knows Vince will take care of Triple H at Armageddon.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says he has built a lifetime of success over a simple set of rules called "The 3 I's:" intensity, integrity and intelligence, and says that he is living proof that regardless of who you are or where you come from, you can do anything you se your mind to, "even in a depressed town like Worcester, Massachuestts." He then introduces "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. When Blackman arrives, the lights suddenly go orange and an icon glows orange on the TitanTron. Kurt then mentions their tag team victory against The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) from last week, and says Blackman shows poise and promise and makes a great apprentice, and if he sticks with him, he will go places and become a winner as part of a championship caliber tag team.

WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon wants Triple H to sign her annulment papers, but Triple H and X-Pac want to joke around and see Stephanie naked in the shower. Stephanie is about to leave, but Triple H agrees to look at the papers only to make another shower joke.

D'Lo Brown's entrance interrupts Val Venis' pre-match monologue before it can even start.

Val Venis vs. D'Lo Brown ends when The British Bulldog and The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) show up and attack both men, leaving no #1 contender for the WWF European Championship.

It is announced that Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah will be at the Billboard Music Awards this Wednesday night. Mae Young is seen wearing a baseball cap backwards and pouring the contents of a 40 oz. bottle of liquor onto the floor, and when Moolah asks her what she is doing, she says "I'm pourin' it for my homies!" Moolah tells her to save it for the music awards, as DMX will be there. Mae Young yells "Where my dawgs at?" Moolah says "Oh, Mae, you are one crazy old cracker."

Mankind is seen talking to The Rock backstage.

WAR ZONE

Triple H shows up with a bouquet of roses and a stack of papers. He says he has come out here week after week and says the fans have made it clear what they think about him, but for the record, he feels the exact same way about the fans. Now that this is cleared up, he asks the fans how they all feel about WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon, and says he is a little confused about it as Stephanie poured her soul to the world last week on SmackDown and called her things like "slut" and "whore," and he says the fans make him sick and that it amazes him how the fans can kill something beautiful and pure and crap all over it. He says the fans are wrong because Stephanie is no slut and he would never marry a slut, at least not intentionally, as marrying a slut is something you do when you go to Las Vegas, Nevada, somebody slips a mickey in your drink and you get all sloshed and end up in a cheap chapel somewhere passed out and having a "shot glass wedding." He says that is not Stephanie and that she is no slut, then mentions the annulment papers and says this hit him completely out of nowhere. He then says he cannot help but blame the fans for all of this, as they were two kids in love and the fans have to kill something beautiful and drive Stephanie to this. Triple H says that if this is what Stephanie wants, he will not hold it together by himself. He then asks Stepahnie to come out to the ring so he can sign the papers and she can walk away from their wedded bliss. Stephanie shows up, gets in the ring and tosses the bouquet of flowers into the crowd. Triple H says he called her out with all intents and purposes on signing the papers, then looks at her buttocks and says that now he is getting all warm and fuzzy inside, especially from certain angles. Triple H says Stephanie means a lot to him and it will not be the same without her watching him kick WWF Chairman Vince McMahon's ass, and asks who he will laugh to. Triple H even goes so far as to say she completes him, and says he cannot find it in himself to sign the papers. Stephanie tells Triple H she is tired of his games and calls him an "insincere son-of-a-bitch," and hopes Vince cripples him at Armageddon. Triple H tries to stop Stephanie, and says she might be on to something. If Vince beats him, he will sign the papers and make her a free woman, but the whole world knows that as long as Vince has a breath in his body, he will never receive a shot at the WWF Championship because he hates his guts. If Vince wins, the marriage is annulled. If Triple H, he gets a shot at the WWF Championship. Stephanie says she can have that arranged, and Triple H agrees, saying she is his wife and has a lot of stroke around here, but as much as he loves her, she is still a McMahon, he cannot trust her, and he wants to hear it from Vince. He calls Vince out, knowing he is in the back watching, and tells him to make it official. Vince shows up, but Triple H reminds him of the restraining order and tells him to back up. Vince accepts the new provisions without hesitation, and Triple H says it never ceases to send a shiver up his spine whenever a McMahon family member says "I do." Vince then tells Triple H that when the match at Armageddon is over, so will the marriage with Stephanie, as he will kick his ass from Heaven all the way down to Hell. He will have this in writing, and Triple H will sign the new contract so that Triple H can't weasel his way out. Triple H tells him to draw up the papers with his lawyers, and bring them to SmackDown for he is an untrusting person, while he is more inclined to do business on a handshake, or sometimes, to seal the deal with a kiss. He then forces himself on Stephanie and kisses her, and Vince has to hold himself back as he cannot do anything about it due to the temporary order of protection.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for December 2, 1999

Shane is seen trying to talk Vince into giving him the baseball bat before Dave Hebner tells them Stephanie McMahon needs them in the ring. Stephanie says the only person to blame is herself, and that she takes full responsibility for what happened in Las Vegas, Nevada, as she should have not have partied so hard and should have not taken that spiked drink from the bartender, who was in cahoots with Triple H. She remembers nothing about what happened and was as shocked as everyone else when she saw the video of Triple H marrying her last week, saying she felt disgusted, cheap and violated. She apologizes to those she might have hurt, especially her friends, family and fiancee Test. She only hopes that Test can find it in his heart to forgive her, but she will never forgive Triple H for wrecking her life and using her as a tool to hurt her father Vince. She says it worked, as her father is crushed, and tells Triple H that what comes around, goes around. Vince and Shane show up, with Vince still carrying a baseball bat. Stephanie tells Vince and Shane that she knows Vince and Shane want to protect her, but it is time to stand on her own. She got herself into it, and she will get herself out. She asks Vince and Shane to promise her that they will let her handle this her way and hold on to some shred of integrity. Shane promises, but Vince looks towards the stage as Stephanie pleads to him to promise. Vince reluctantly promises, then leaves the ring with the baseball bat still in his hand.

X-Pac says that what makes them so great is that they say and do what they want, and X-Pac says he will beat and humiliate Kane in front of Tori at Armageddon before ripping his mask off and showing what he has been hiding underneath for so long. Billy Gunn says The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) will put the tag team titles against Mankind and The Rock. He has read Mankind's book and could not get past the introduction, and The Outlaws will show Mankind and The Rock why they absolutely suck. Road Dogg says there is no time like the present, however, and tonight, they and X-Pac face The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Big Show. They made The Hardy Boyz, but now they will break them, and while they are teaming with Big Show, but even DX can overcome him as he is not a mountain that they cannot claim. Triple H shows up in a Vince McMahon mask and makes fun of Vince's walk to the ring, then takes the mask off and puts on his leather skull cap. DX then gives Triple H a portrait of the McMahon family with Triple H's head plastered over Test, two toasters (to which Triple H responds by saying he could never heat up that many buns), an iron, red lingerie, a box with nothing in it (an idea by X-Pac, who says he had the same idea for lingerie), and a front-row ticket to <>Armageddon so that WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon can watch Triple H beat up her father WWF Chairman Vince McMahon. Triple H says that as good as this gift is, he will up the ante by using his newfound family stroke and making his match against Vince anything goes and falls-count-anywhere. He then tells Vince that at Armageddon, Stephanie will sit front and center and watch as he beats him up until he cannot stand anymore.

Mankind finds The Rock and tells him about Al Snow. As soon as The Rcok says he will smack the taste out of Al Snow's mouth, Al Snow attacks The Rock and Mankind has to pull Al Snow off of him.

Before the next match, Mankind says he does not ask for a lot of favors, but he asks everyone to pick up The New York Times' Sunday edition, look in the best-sellers section and find some ex-Presidents, three Presidential hopefuls, a man who walked on the moon, two Pulitzer Prize winners, the Dalai Lama and Mankind himself at the very top, kicking their asses. He can't thank the book critics who are too stupid to read it themselves or the magazines who though the book was beneath them, so he thanks the fans for making his book number one. He would celebrate now, but he has two friends at each other's throats. He makes an appeal for Al Snow for acting like a total idiot as well as The Rock, and asks they forget about the situation and make it "The Rock 'n Sock 'n Al Connection." Suddenly, Chris Jericho shows up, and tells Mankind to cut it out with the sentimentality and tells him that neither man is his friend and that they both hate him. He also says the crowd hates Mankind, and so does he. He also says people bought his book to see if he died at the end of it, and tells him to accept his challenge so that way, when he write his highly-anticipated autobiography, he can name the first chapter "Anaheim: The Night I Ended That Pathetic, Feeble-Minded Mike Foley's Career." Jim Ross interviews The Big Show in the ring to start the show. Big Show says being WWF Champion is incredible, and he is on top of the world as he calls the WWF Championship the most coveted title in sports entertainment. Having the title means more to him than anything else in the world, and he just wishes his dad was around to see it. Suddenly, Chris Jericho shows up, and tells Big Show not to worry about having a father anymore, as tonight, he is his daddy. He asks if Big Show deserves to be a heavyweight champion due to his size, and says that charisma and showmanship - things Jericho says Big Show does not have - matter more than size, and that Big Show should be carrying his bags and begging for him not to kick his dimpled, cottage cheese ass. Tonight, he wants a no-disqualification match for the WWF Championship, as he wants the title around his waist. Big Show says he has no problems beating Jericho like the bitch that he is right now.

He says that Thanksgiving is a time is also a time for people to give to one another, and his gift to the fans is putting on another fantastic performance for all to enjoy. He hopes that the fans give back to him a gift that he would be very proud to have: their respect and support. He then wishes the fans a happy Thanksgiving. Michael Cole then mentions the WWF's letter-writing drive against the Parents' Television Council mentioned by Jim Ross on Raw. D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) lament the fact that they all have to wrestle on Thanksgiving, and says the only good thing about it is that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon cannot be within fifty feet of them. Triple H says they should lighten up and be more thankful, and he has an idea.

He gives out a special thanks to The Rock, because when he put his hand out and The Rock made the tag, he could feel the reaction and the energy from the crowd and says it was the greatest moment in sports entertainment. He then gives my sincere apologies for yelling at The Rock, as not only did The Rock not throw his book in the garbage, he read it and liked it. He hopes that the fans are still hungry, as he serving a helping of "The Rock 'n Sock Connection." The Rock then shows up. Since he is in the Thanksgiving spirit, he notices there is a table full of pies at ringside. He walks over to the pies, and noticed a pumpkin pie, a pecan pie, an apple pie, and a pie with the word "Poontang" on it, which The Rock calls "poontang pie." The Rock has a taste of the poontang pie and says that is "some of the best poontang pie The Rock has ever tasted." He then mentions that Michael Cole has never had a taste of poontang pie and lays it on the commentary table, tells him not to be afraid of the poontang, and tells him that when he is ready for poontang, poontang will be ready for him.
