The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy vs. Too Cool (Grandmasta Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) for the WWF Tag Team Championships ends in a no-contest. During the match, Kane - who is still carrying the WWF Championship with him - shows up and choke slams Jeff Hardy and Scotty 2 Hotty and tells Triple H that if he wants the WWF Championship back, he will have to come out and take it. Triple H shows up and says that he could come down to the ring, beat Kane up and take back what is his, but he knows that Kane would like to do the right thing and knows the difference between right and wrong and the difference between Kane's property and his property. He says that to be the best, you have to beat the best, and to be WWF Champion, one has to beat him. He then says that since Kane has not and will never beat him, the WWF Championship is his property, and he demands that Kane hand the WWF Championship back to him. Kane says "No," then Triple H says that WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley has just told him that Kane wants something, and asks Kane to tell him what he wants so he can give it to him in exchange for the WWF Championship without having to get his ass kicked. Kane tells Triple H he wants a championship match, and Triple H says that Kane is a lot smarter than he gave him credit for, then says Kane does not deserve a championship match against him before stating that he is a fair man and giving Kane a chance. He gives Kane a non-title match against him, and if Kane can beat him, he will defend the WWF Championship against him at King of the Ring. Triple H then demands that Kane give the WWF Championship back to him, and Kane hands the title back to Triple H through a referee. Triple H says that Kane is a smart man, but he will show he is The Game. Kane tells Triple H to enjoy the WWF Championship while he can, for while he may be that damn good, he is "that damn bad."

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon steps out of a limousine, but quickly gets back in when The Undertaker drives by on a motorcycle. The Undertaker drives around the limousine, then The Undertaker tells Vince that he is about to punch Vince in the face before telling him he wants a shot at the WWF Championship. Vince tells The Undertaker he has it at the King of the Ring, but only if he can beat both "Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac in a two-on-one handicap match.

Backstage, Triple H questions WWF Chairman Vince McMahon for putting "Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac in a two-on-one handicap match against The Undertaker with a WWF title shot on the line, and mentions the match that he made with Kane earlier tonight. Meanwhile, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up at the arena with Edge and Christian and mentions The Rock demanding he be #1 contender for the WWF Championship. Shane then decides to kill two birds with one stone gives Edge and Christian a two-on-one handicap match against The Rock, and if Edge and Christian win, they can become #1 contenders for the WWF Tag Team Championships and The Rock can never bother him about a title shot or being WWF Champion again. The McMahon Helmsley-Faction see all of this on television backstage, much to the dismay of Triple H and Vince.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says the fans are down because for the first time in his life, he is in a slump, and for the past week, he has tried to attain Intercontinental and European gold only to come out empty-handed. He says that the fans are used to falling short of their dreams and goals, and while that is expected of the fans, he is different because he is a winner. Tonight, Angle vows to become King of the Ring, and he is so sure of this that he did not find out who his opponent is tonight and that he does not care. He says that he feels sorry for his opponent tonight, as they will experience an Olympic lesson that they will never forget. Angle then finds out that his opponent is Bradshaw.

Kurt Angle beats Bradshaw to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament after grabbing the rope following the Clothesline From Hell to break a pinfall attempt and hit the Olympic Slam for the win. After the match, Bradshaw attacks Angle and powerbombs him.

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon is given looks of disappointment from the rest of The McMahon-Helmsley Faction for his actions from earlier.

Chris Benoit retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against D'Lo Brown after countering the Sky High into a Crippler Crossface.

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon tells "Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac that they must rely on themselves and believe that they can beat The Undertaker tonight.

Jerry "The King" Lawler is in the ring to referee an arm wrestling match between Terri Runnels and The Kat. The Kat shows up first, followed by Terri. When Terri complains that The Kat has something slimy on her hand, Lawler says that her hand is fine, then uses the opportunity to touch The Kat's right leg. After Lawler states that the match will cause swelling - for him, not for them - Terri breaks away before the start of the match for water. As Lawler initiates a five-count, Terri then delays the inevitable by stretching out before going back to the table, The Kat breaks away to also do some stretching and spite Terri. The arm wrestling match then begins, and Terri spits water into The Kat's eyes before pinning The Kat's hand onto the table. After the arm wrestling match, The Kat grabs Terri and throws her into the corner before hitting the Bronco Buster. Lawler stops The Kat, then Lawler begs for a Bronco Buster, demanding that The Kat make his face "the most happiest place on Earth." The Kat declines.

WWF Chairman Vince McMahon guests on commentary for the next match.

The Undertaker beats D-Generation X ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac) in a two-on-one handicap match to become #1 contender for the WWF Championship. During the match, Road Dogg and X-Pac try to leave, but they are headed off at the pass at the entrance ramp by The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley). After the match, D-Von Dudley taunts X-Pac, but backs into THe Undertaker, who almost immediately choke slams him.

Backstage, WWF Championship Vince McMahon blames "Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac's loss on The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley), calling them "The damn Dudleyz." Triple H says he is hearing some "damn excuses."

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says Hardcore Holly seems like quite an intelligent man and that they don't need to hit each other over the head with steel chairs anymore; instead, they should sit down like distinguished gentlemen and talk out their difference while Holly brings out the Coqnac and he brings the Rogaine. He then says that Hardcore Holly is a goofy jackass and that he could ever let Holly off the hook that easily.

Chris Jericho beats Hardcore Holly. During the match, Chris Benoit shows up with a steel chair, and Jericho drop kicks Holly into the steel chair before hitting the Lionsault for the win.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon tells Edge and Christian to get the job done against The Rock, saying that he is confident in them to do it.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock. The Rock says it does not matter if The Undertaker is #1 contender for the WWF Championship, and that the only thing that matters is his title shot and that he will beat Triple H for the WWF Championship at King of the Ring. As for Edge and Christian, for the benefit of those with flash photography, the fans can take pictures of him beating their candy asses all over Tacoma, Washington tonight.

The Rock beats Edge and Christian in a two-on-one handicap match to become #1 contender for the WWF Championship. During the match, Edge inadvertently Spears referee Tim White, then WWF co-owner tosses the ring bell to Edge. Edge tries to hit The Rock with it, but inadvertently nails Christian with it instead, leading Shane to hit The Rock in the head with a steel chair and place Christian on top of The Rock, who kicks out after referee Tim White comes to.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon blames referee Tim White for Edge and Christian losing, but WWF Chairman Vince McMahon says that all everyone in the room hears is some excuses.

King of the Ring is live on pay-per-view on June 25th!

Crash Holly beats Albert to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament with a powerbomb pin. After the match, Trish Stratus sends Crash into the ring post, then Albert lays Crash out in the middle of the ring.

Backstage, Triple H says he is tired of things getting screwed up while he is trying to do what is right, and chews out WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, saying they screwed up. He says there is no way there will be three #1 contenders tonight and that he will take care of Kane himself as he tells the rest of The McMahon-Helmsley Faction not to leave backstage. Everyone is unhappy about this, but Vince says that this is Triple H's time to shine and Shane says this is the moment for Triple H to prove why he is the WWF Champion.

This Sunday on Heat: Al Snow vs. Val Venis! Chyna vs. The Godfather! Both matches are qualifying matches for the King of the Ring tournament!

Before the next match, Kane tells referee Tim White to leave the ring, which Tim White does, then tells Triple H that the match now has a special guest referee: Earl Hebner.

Kane beat Triple H after referee Earl Hebner stops Triple H from using a steel chair as a weapon. After the match, Kane holds the WWF Championship up over a downed Triple H.

Referee Earl Hebner is given a hometown ovation before the next match.

Chris Jericho beats Chris Benoit to become the WWF Intercontinental Champion! During the match, Benoit gets in an argument with referee Earl Hebner after Hebner stops him from attacking Jericho at ringside. After a shoving match, Benoit shoves Hebner out of the ring, and Jericho hits Benoit with the Intercontinental Championship before hitting the Asia moonsault off the ropes for the win.

The McMahon-Helmsley Regime is seen entering the arena.

The McMahon-Helmsley Regime shows up. WWF Chairman Vince McMahon says it is great to be in Richmond, Virginia, as it is a city of great historical significance be being the capital of the Confederacy, the home of Jefferson Davis, where Patrick Henry gave his "Give me liberty or give me death!" speech, the capital of Virginia, and - as of late - its corrupt city council and being the home of referee Earl Hebner. Vince then shows his anger with Hebner and says it is only right that Hebner returns to the ring in his hometown, not as a referee, but in his very first wrestling match. If Hebner disobeys his order, then it will be a breach of contract and he will be fired again and remain fired. He then says it would not be fair for Hebner to face single competition in his very first match, as he will have The Rock as a tag team partner in a match against D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James) where the WWF Championship is on the line. He announces that The Rock will lose the WWF Championship if he or Hebner get pinned, and that a new WWF Champion will be crowned and history will be made.

We see a vignette where three girls play "Patty Cake" in front of a furnace before the words "Judgment Day is coming" show up on the screen.

In footage from earlier today, Edge and Christian are getting facials to remove the stench of Rikishi Fatu's rear end from the Stinkfaces they received on Raw. Christian says that Rikishi will pay for inventing the Stinkface, and Edge says they lost the cover of Tiger Beat because of it.

Eddie Guerrero and Chyna beat Essa Rios and Lita.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says he has a problem with his opponent tonight, Hardcore Holly. Angle states that when he thinks of "hardcore," he thinks of hardcore pornography. He says that there are children here tonight, but then realizes the state motto is "Virginia is for lovers," and while he is not a critic, he says that motto should be extended to "Virginia is for lovers, provided those lovers are not from the same family." Hardcore Holly shows up and tells Angle that he doesn't give a rat's ass about his philosophy, and neither does the people. He also says that while Virginia is for lovers, it is not a place for a 30-year-old virgin who is about to get his kicked ass.

Kurt Angle beats Hardcore Holly. During the match, Angle feigns a knee injury, and Hardcore Holly continues to stomp on Angle's right knee despite instructions from the referee to stay back. Holly and the referee have a shoving match, and the referee shoves Holly into Angle, who is on his feet and ready to hit a German Suplex with a bridge pin for the win. After the match, Holly dropkicks Angle before grabbing a steel chair and slamming Angle onto it in the middle of the ring.

The Rock: The People's Champ is now available on VHS and DVD!

Before the next match, Christian tells the fans that there is nothing to be alarmed about, as his and Edge's faces are "100% ass-free." Edge tells Rikishi that he will rue the day he decided to wear a thong in the ring and disgrace the faces that the people.

Rikishi beats Edge and Christian in a 2-on-1 handicap match by count-out. After the match, Edge and Christian continue to attack Rikishi, but Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) run in to make the save for Rikishi. Afterwards, Too Cool and Rikishi dance.

Backstage, Tori and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are met by The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von), and Stephanie chews them out for picking on women and putting them through tables, with both women saying they are poor, pathetic excuses for me. They walk away, and D-Von has to stop Buh Buh Ray from grabbing Stephanie, reminding him that there are consequences for putting Stephanie through a table. Buh Buh Ray simply smiles.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat T&A (Test and Albert) after Albert argues with the referee. After the match, T&A knock Jeff Hardy out of the ring before ganging up on Matt.

Backstage, Johnathan Coachman interviews referee Earl Hebner. Hebner asks Coachman how he would feel if he was asked to go into the ring that he does not do. He says that he is a referee, not a wrestler, and that they are forcing him to get his ass kicked or lose his job. He says he will feel awful if he costs The Rock the WWF Championship, and asks how he will make a living for his family afterwards.

Big Show comes out to the next match as "Shonan the Barbarian." He then says he will crush his opponents beneath his feet and show no mercy as he does his best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression. When Bull Buchanan shows up, he pulls out a baton and attacks Big Show with it before the bell rings. Big Show quickly recovers and manhandles Buchanan.

Backstage, WWF chairman Vince McMahon talks with referee Earl Hebner, hoping that there are no hard feelings between them and that he hopes Hebner gets hurt or costs the WWF Championship, saying that Hebner will have tried his best regardless.

Backstage, Crash Holly finds a bounce house complete with a basketball game. Suddenly, he is pushed inside by Dean Malenko, but Crash fights him off and runs away. The chases makes its way to the crowd, where an impromptu Hardcore title match takes place. During the match, Perry Saturn gets involved, and Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn argue. Crash retains the WWF Hardcore Championship against Dean Malenko after knocking a trash can into Malenko, knocking him into Saturn and allowing Crash to get a schoolkid pin for the win. After the match, Saturn and Malenko brawl, and referees have to keep them apart.

Backstage, Big Show meets with WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, who has no idea what to think about his latest costumes. After the break, Shane McMahon tells Big Show he let him down at WrestleMania, and that he wanted to make him someone. Instead, Big Show was the first man eliminated, and since then, he has made a fool of himself and that he has become "pathetic," "pea-brained," and a "waste of perfectly good oxygen" and "an unmotivated slob," and that nobody will care about he does because he doesn't deserve it.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock and Earl Hebner. The Rock syas the deck is stacked against him once again, and if either he or Hebner lose, he loses the WWF title. He says that WWF chairman Vince McMahon fails to realize that he will not lose the title, and tells him to stick D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James) up his candy ass.

The Rock and Earl Hebner beat D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James). During the match, Chris Jericho shows up and attacks WWF chairman Vince McMahon, allowing Hebner to hit X-Pac with a low blow to stop a chair shot and allowing The Rock to hit X-Pac with the Rock Bottom for the win. After the match, D-Generation X attacks The Rock, and Vince McMahon forces Earl Hebner to watch as Triple H hits The Rock with a shot to the head with the WWF Championship followed by a Pedigree. After that, Vince and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon throw Hebner to DX. Triple H punches Hebner out with one punch, with subsequent punches busting Hebner open in the mouth. Triple H then hits Hebner with a Pedigree on a steel chair after DX gang up on Hebner even further. Rikishi runs in and fights off DX to make the save for The Rock, then Big Show runs in and fights DX as well before hitting Shane with a headbutt. The numbers game catches up to Big Show , but The Rock is able to recover until Triple H hits him with a low blow. Big Show is also hit with a low blow, then The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) show up with a table and fend off DX. Jericho rejoins the good guys just in time for Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco to be headbutted and thrown into the ring by Rikishi. Patterson gets a Stinkface, while Brisco gets powerbomber through a table. Two EMTs then show up with a stretcher for Earl Hebner, and The Rock accompanies Hebner up the ramp to end the show.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 24, 2000

RAW

Before the next match, Kurt Angle shows up and says everyone wants to know why he is putting his quest for championship gold aside to focus on Big Show. He says that Big Show is "a big ass," and he does not like or appreciate big asses. He also announces that his opponent tonight is Rikishi, and says that if Rikishi's parents practice abstinence, everyone would not be exposed to the repulsive rectum that he carries today. Afterwards, it is announced on commentary that X-Pac will not be here tonight due to a loss in the family.

Rikishi Phatu beats Kurt Angle by disqualification after Angle shoves the referee into Rikishi. After the match, Big Show rusn in and hit Angle with a sidewalk slam, then Angle gets the Stinkface from Rikishi in the corner. Big Show then chases Kurt Angle to the back, then stares down with Rikishi before handing Rikishi his dancing glasses, giving him a high-five and heading to the back while Rikishi dances.

The DX Express is seen stopping outside in the parking lot, with Triple H and WWF co-owners Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley heading towards the arena.

Backstage, Trish Stratus has a message for Buh Buh Ray Dudley, saying there is just something about tables that drives her crazy. There are long ones, round ones, larger ones and smaller ones depending on what kind of company you have. However, the one thing they all have in common is that have to be hard.

Triple H and WWF co-owners Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up. Shane says that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon will be here shortly to grace all of the fans with his presence. In the meantime, he has something to say. He says that sometimes, he can be a bit of a hot-head, and he apologizes to Triple H for his actions from last week's Raw. Shane says that he now knows that Triple H loves the McMahon family as much as he does, and that he would never, ever Pedigree their mother - Triple H's mother-in-law - ever again. He says that Triple H is the best brother-in-law one could ever have and that he never had a big brother, then says "I love you, man!" and hugs Triple H, who hugs back. Stephanie says Triple H and Shane warm her heart, and says that she would like to apologize to all the fans if she has in any way hurt their feeling with her actions, because she can empathize and knows how it is like to have her feelings hurt. She says the fans only see one side of her and that she is a deeply caring soul, and she is extraordinarily sensitive. She says that when the fans call her a slut, she almost cries, and says it it extremely unfair for the fans to pass judgment without knowing the real her. After the three of them hug each other, Triple H says he could not agree with her more, and says the fans owe her a big apology as they know absolutely nothing about her. Triple H then apologizes to the fans, as it has been brought to his attention as of late that the fans have though he has been unfair in some of the business decisions that have been made in the WWF as of late, and asks if it was unfair of him to take Chris Jericho's big win and strike it from the record books so that it never took place. He also asks if it unfair for him to humiliate and fire ex-referee Earl Hebner on national television, as well as whether or not it was unfair to make The Rock compete in a Lumberjack Match so close to Backlash knowing that he will get his ass kicked before he gets his ass kicked again by him at Backlash. Triple H says he is not an unfair guy, and that if there is anything he is, it is fair. Before he can make a big announcement, however, Chris Jericho shows up. He says the only thing Triple H needs to apologize for is boring the Jerichoholics half to death, as week after week, he does these whiny, tedious interviews that nobody cares about, and pleads with Triple H to shut the hell up. As for being fair, he says that if Triple H wants to be fair, he should agree to give him a rematch for the WWF Championship tonight. Triple H doubts if he should reward Jericho for sticking his nose is business he does not belong in as well as for saying derogatory comments to his wife Stephaie, saying Stephanie is very sensitive and delicate. Jericho says Stephanie "lost her flower a long time ago," because there is no other way she could be a filthy, dirty disgusting, skanky, brutal, bottom-feeding trash bag ho in the first place. Shane says he is tired of him and The Rock disparaging Stephanie, and tonight, he and Triple H want to take him and The Rock on in a tag team match. Triple H says this is a good idea, and tells Jericho his request for a WWF Championship rematch tonight is denied, but he is in luck if he wants to get his ass kicked. As Triple H speaks, Stephanie is dangling the WWF Championship back and forth near the edge of the ring, and Jericho yanks it from her before heading to the back. This upsets Triple H, who goes after Jericho only to be smacked in the face by the title. Jericho drops the title and heads back up the ramp as Shane checks on Triple H while yelling at Jericho.

Backstage, Eddie Guerrero and Chyna try on outfits for a prom. Chyna is in a black dress, but Eddie is in a dark green jacket and a T-shirt with a tuxedo design printed on it, which Chyna says makes Eddie look like "a Gumby reject."

We see footage from during the commercial break where Chris Jericho is attacked by Chris Benoit from behind with the WWF Intercontinental Championship, telling him that the Intercontinental title is another championship that he is not going to get.

Edge and Christian guest on commentary for the next match.

Chris Benoit beats "Road Dogg" Jesse James. During the match, Tori shows up and briefly confronts Edge and Christian at the commentary table. Later on, Edge and Christian try to run in on the match, and while Tori stops Christian, distracting referee Jimmy Korderas in the process, Edge is able to get in the ring and hit Road Dogg with a Spear, almost getting caught in the process. Benoit then hits the top rope diving headbutt for the win. After the match, Edge and Christian double-team Road Dogg, and when Tori tries to grab Edge by the hair, Christian lays her out.

Backstage, Kurt Angle offers The Acolyte Protection Agency (Faarooq and Bradshaw) money to beat up Big Show, but Bradhsaw reminds him that they protect people for money, not beat each other money. Nevertheless, they are open to his offer. Angle says he has a lot of money in the locker room, and says he will be right back, but not before telling them to cut down on the swearing and the smoking as well as to add a nicer aesthetic to the office. This only raises the ire of the Acolytes, who throw beer cans at Angle and tell him to go away.

Backstage, Kurt Angle walks in on a conversation between The Big Boss Man, Bull Buchanan and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, and asks them for help with Big Show. This leads to Big Boss Man talking about how he gave Big Show a hard time when his father died last year and also gives Stephanie a good idea, and has Boss Man and Bull Buchanan in a two-on-one handicap match, which they accept.

The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly) beat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) after Crash Holly hits Jeff Hardy in the back in an Seanton Bomb attempt while the referee is telling Matt Hardy to get back in his corner. After the match, the Hardys attack Crash from behind and get him back in the ring, and while Crash is fighting back, Perry Saturn runs into the ring as this match becomes an imromptu match for the WWF Hardcore Championship. As Hardcore Holly slowly heads down the ramp not believing what he is seeing, Tazz hits him from behind and also gets involved. However, after a Swanton Bomb from Matt Hardy onto Crash, Matt Hardy wins the WWF Hardcore Championship. Matt Hardy runs away with the Hardcore Championship while Perry Saturn, Tazz and Hardcore Holly continue to fight one another at ringside.

Backstage, Eddie comes out in a red vest, tan boots and everything else in black. Meanwhile, Chyna is wearing a different black dress, and tells Eddie to try on the tuxedo she got him. Eddie tells Chyna that the dress she is currently wearing is the best, then Chyna decides to try on the red one.

Backstage, Trish Stratus - now wearing less than she was last time - tells Buh Buh Ray Dudley that upkeep is very important. She sprays wood polish on a table, as the look and feel of the table depends solely on the way one decides to rub it down after it has been used. The more you rub it, the better the wood starts to look.

Big Show beats The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan by disqualification after Kurt Angle runs in and hits Big Show with a low blow. After the match, Angle, Boss Man and Buchanan continue to attack Big Show, then The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) go after Boss Man and Buchana and chase them to the back. Big Show gets back up in the ring, and he is not in a good mood.

A black limousine pulls up, and WWF Chairman Vince McMahon comes out of it and heads towards the arena.

Backstage, Trish Stratus - who now appears to be wearing even less - tells Buh Buh Ray Dudley that the most important part of any table is its legs, and that table legs come in all different shapes and sizes. She then says the most important one is a center leg, for without it, you can't keep it up.

WAR ZONE

WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up. Vince says last week, while he is in Europe, his family's actions in the ring were deplorable and reprehensible, and shows irritation at "Stone Cold" Steve Austin being in The Rock's corner at Backlash. He says that this announcement enraged the rest of the family, who then proceeded to become physically violent with each other. He asks if he is the only sane member of the McMahon family of it is all just in his imagination. Vince says Triple H may have convinced the rest of the family that he was only trying to scare WWF co-owner Linda McMahon, but he is not entirely convinced and tells him not to touch his wife ever again. As far as Triple H's tag team match goes, Triple H will have to find another partner as WWF co-owner Shane McMahon has been assigned new duties. If he cannot, it will be a two-on-one handicap match. Vince then focuses on Backlash and Steve Austin, and says nobody knows Austin better than he does, and says that if The Rock things Austin will lead him to the promised land of the WWF Championship, he should think again, as about a year ago, something happened between The Rock and Austin. We see footage from April 1999 where Austin fdestroyed The Rock's new Lincoln Continental, and says The Rock was not happy that night, as The Rock vowed that he would never drive his personal car to an arena again and he would get even with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and he eventually would seven months later. Vince then mentions that The Rock's car hit "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, putting Austin out of action for months. While The Rock was not driving the vehicle, The Rock was the one person that would benefit most by putting Austin on the shelf. With Austin gone, The Rock got on the highway to success that Vince and Austin paved, and Vince tells The Rock that when he thinks about Austin, he should be thinking thinking of three initials: "DTA," or "don't trust anybody." Vince then asks The Rock if he can trust Austin, or if Austin will be strike The Rock and drive the venom into The Rock's flesh. He then says that when Austin turns on The Rock, then and only then will it dawn on The Rock that Backlash is an appropriate name for this Sunday's pay-per-view.

Backstage, Chyna - in a red dress - and Eddie Guerrero - in a tuxedo - are dressed up for the prom. They then realize that Eddie has a match in ten minute, then they fool around behind the changing area.

D'Lo Brown and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beat Al Snow and The Godfather, the former dressed like The Godfather, as is Head. After the match, Al Snow wants the hos to dance with him, but The Godfather beats him up and tosses him out of the ring.

We lock back at September 1998, when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin rides a Coors Light zamboni to the ring and beats up WWF Chairman Vince McMahon only to get arrested by police.

Dusty Anderson, proprietor of Vinnie's Steakhouse in Raleigh, North Caorlina, is seen in the audience.

We hear from Trish Stratus yet again, as she lays seductively on top of a table as she says that lying on a table gets her excited. However, it is not the same without Buh Buh Ray Dudley, and if he plays his cards right at Backlash, there will be a table set for two from her to him.

Val Venis beats Eddie Guerrero. During the match, Essa Rios and Lita show up, and both of them brawl with Chyna on the outside while Val Venis goes for the Money Shot for the win. After the match, Essa Rios and Lita stomp away at Eddie until Chynag ets in the ring, and Lita narrowly escapes along with Essa Rios.

Edge and Christian beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley). During the match, T&A (Test and Albert) bring out Trish Stratus on a table, and when Buh Buh Ray sees Trish sitting seductively on the table, he is distracted, but not enough to cost The Dudley Boyz the match. Later on, however, Trish Stratus stands up and takes off her jacket, then starts dancing. Buh Buh Ray is mesmerized as D-Von Dudley is pinned for the three count. When he finds out that he and D-Von have lost, he is flabbergasted.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews The Rock, who says that he is looking forward for tonight's match and that the countdown is on for Backlash. He tells WWF Chairman Vince McMahon that he may be right about "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and that Austin should not fully trust him, either. However, Vince can count on him and Austin being unified when it comes to not trusting him, and that if Austin had a problem with him, he would say it to his face. He also says that Vince implied that he had it easy, then says that WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley is "easy" and that he has never had it easy since he lost the WWF Championship. Since then, he has kicked, scratched and clawed his way back to where he is now and call himself "The People's Champion." The Rock then makes it clear he will beat Triple H and walk out of Backlash as WWF Champion.

As Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley leave the DX Express outside of the arena, Triple H demands that somebody had better have his back if tonight's main event is a two-on-one handicap match.

Before the next match, Triple H introduces his new tag team partner for this match: Chris Benoit. He then announces that WWF co-owner Shane McMahon will be the special guest referee for this match, replacing the original referee for this match. Triple H also introduces WWF Chairman Vince McMahon as the man who will be in his corner right now in addition to at Backlash.

Triple H and Chris Benoit beat Chris Jericho and The Rock. During the match, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon "distracts" special guest referee Shane McMahon, and The Rock attacks him. WWF Chairman Vince McMahon goes after him and chases him out of the ring, then continues on with the match. When he goes for The People's Elbow, however, Vince kicks him in the groin from behind, allowing Triple H to hit The Rock with a Pedigree to get the win.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for April 20, 2000

"Road Dogg" Jesse James beats Edge after reversing a roll-up by grabbing Edge's tights while going for a roll-up himself. Before the match begins, it is announced that Edge and Christian will defend the WWF Tag Team Championships against D-Generation X (Road Dogg and X-Pac) at Backlash.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon tells Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley that he will start "rounding everybody up" for something later.

We look back on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's Stone Cold Stunner to "Iron" Mike Tyson in January 1998.

Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up. Triple H says that over the last couple of days, he has heard people talk about how he had a bad day on Raw, which he says he does not have very many of, but the record books will show that he never lost the WWF Championship to Chris Jericho, that there never was a fast count from now ex-WWF referee Earl Hebner and that he, Stephanie and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon never fired Hebner for said fast count. He then says the one thing from Monday that could be considered bad was WWF co-owner Linda McMahon's announcement of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin coming back at Backlash in The Rock's corner. Triple H admits he would not feel comfortable leaving he and Stephanie's future kids with Linda, as Linda is "a psycho" for slapping Stephanie and needs help. He then says that he snapped and that he would never really hurt Linda, and that he is a "nice guy," but Shane punched him for putting her in the position for a Pedigree. He says Shane is a "mama's boy," but says there is nothing with loving your mom like Shane does before saying that a woman who would slap her daughter would the same woman would take a fair contest between two great athletes for the WWF Championship and stack the odds against him by putting "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in The Rock's corner. He then says that if The Rock wants someone in that corner, then he will give him an opportunity to get used to it by putting someone not only in his corner, but also in every corner and around the ring, as he will take on "The Ayatollah of Buttholah" in a Lumberjack Match. Triple H says that the lumberjacks for the match are being carefully selected by Shane McMahon, then says that the McMahon-Helmsley regime is in control, taking care of business and making sure there are no more bad days. Suddenly, Tazz shows up, and says it is good to see Triple H in a pleasant mood. However, the mood is about to change. He says Triple H walks around like he has everything under control and has all the bases controlled, but all he has to do is open his mouth a little wider and bite into something he just can't swallow. He then says Triple H doesn't have to put the WWF Champion; all he has to do is lace his boots up tight, get in the ring and find out why people call him "The Human Wrecking Machine." Triple H says that if he wants a piece of him tonight, he's got it. He tells him to bring the ECW World Heavyweight Champion with him and tells him that if he steps into the ring, he will find out this is the World Wrestling Federation and Triple H will prove to everyone that ECW "sucks." Tazz tells Triple H from one champion to another to get ready to get choked out, and that he doesn't play games.

Backstage, Chyna tells Lita that she should be lucky that Eddie Guerrero is in a good mood as he gives her and Essa Rios a chance to team up with them again against The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley), and that Eddie is only in a good mood because he passed his GED test. She also tells Lita not to screw up again.

Backstage, Kurt Angle is met by WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, who tells him that his most admirable quality is his credibility and that he is the only Olympic gold medalist in the World Wrestling Federation. She also wonders if he could bring credibility to tonight's Lumberjack Match and invites him to become a lumberjack. Angle accepts the invitation, saying it would be his honor, but Stephanie says the honor is all hers.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) beat Eddie Guerrero and Essa Rios after Lita inadvertently takes out Eddie Guerrero with a top rope cross body meant for Buh Buh Ray, who ducks. After the match, CHyna grabs Lita by the hair, then The Dudley Boyz pull out a table. When Chyna runs backwards into the table, she looks at the Dudleys briefly before tossing Lita to them and leaving the ring, allowing Buh Buh Ray to powerbomb Lita through the table.

Backstage, The Radicalz (Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn) make fun of Tazz "looking like Donkey Kong" as he throws out challenges before WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up and asks the three of them to take part in tonight's Lumberjack Match. All three of them accept.

Before the next match, Big Show says Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is his town and instead of calling him Big Show, they call him "Big Funky." He proposes that he and Rikishi have a dance-off to see who the better dancer is. Big Show goes first, followed by Rikishi, but when Rikishi turns his back on Big Show, Big Show immediately attacks Rikishi to get the next match started.

Big Show and Rikishi wrestle to a double count-out. After the match, Rikishi tells Big Show that he and the fans want him back in the ring so they can finish what they started. Both men have a stare-down, then Rikishi places his trademark sunglasses on Big Show. Big Show retuns the favor by pullng out a pair for Rikishi. Both men then dance. Backstage, Kurt Angle watches them dance, embarrased that he is even seeing such a spectacle. Suddenly, Rikishi superkicks Big Show before taking the sunglasses off of Big Show.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews Kurt Angle, who says that as a modern-day gladiator, Gladiator is a phenomenal movie and Dreamworks Pictures went all-out on it. He then says that he has been personally invited by Steven Spielberg to attend the world premiere, but he was upset that he will not be starring in the film. However, if they have a sequel, he might be in it, and his fans just might see their Olympic her on the big screen. He says that Rikishi does his dance and that he does not know any better, and that Big Show used to be the WWF Champion and used to mean something; now Big Show stands for nothing. Angle says he himself stands for intensity, integrity and intelligence, and when he wins the Intercontinental Championship tonight, everyone will see that the stock market will rise, the world will become a better place and he will see Kevin Kelly at the movies.

Triple H beats Tazz in a match that sees the WWF Champion against the ECW Champion in a non-title match. During the match, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley distracts referee Mike Chioda so that Triple H can hit Tazz with a low blow to stop the Tazzmission. Afterwards, a man gets on the apron and distracts Chioda. Triple H knocks down Chioda and the man at the same time, and the man is none other than "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer gets back in the ring but inadvertently takes out Triple H, and Triple H hits Dreamer with the Pedigree for the win.

Backstage, Trish Stratus tells T&A (Test and Albert) to focus on their match with The Godfather, not on the cleavage. T&A's responses show that they are clearly transfixed on Trish's cleavage.

T&A (Test and Albert) beat The Godfather and D'Lo Brown after D'Lo inadvertently strikes The Godfather with a right hand meant for Albert, who ducks. During the match, Buh Buh Ray stares as Trish Stratus from the stage, and D-Von Dudley has to stop him as he walks down the ramp and take him to the back. After the match, The Godfather tries to forgive D'Lo Brown, but D'Lo Brown hits him with the Sky High and tells him "Screw you!"

X-Pac beats Christian. During the match, Tori distracts referee Jimmy Korederas while "Road Dogg" Jesse James gets in the ring. Edge follows him down there and yanks Road Dogg off the ring apron, but X-Pac hits a distracted Christian with the X Factor. After the match, Edge and Christian fight Road Dogg and X_Pac, and Edge and Christian come out on top.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon compliments The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) on the powerbomb to Lita through the table as it is the intensity he is looking for, and invites them to become lumberjacks in tonight's Lumberjack Match. They accept after D-Von isis told tables may be involved and Buh Buh Ray is assured that people can be hit with the Dudley Death Drop.

Triple H invites The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan to be lumberjacks for tonight's Lumberjack Match. They accept the invitation.

Backstage, D-Generation X (Triple H, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, X-Pac), Tori, and WWF co-owners Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley brag about their in-ring success tonight before focusing on the Lumberjack Match, saying they have Chris Jericho and The Rock right where they want them.

We see footage from earlier today where Crash Holly comes back from the Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey circus event to be met by a clown and a man in a trench coat with a glasses and fake nose disguise. It is pretty obvious that the man in the trenchcoat is referee Teddy Long, but it is not so obvious that the clown is one of the members of The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) until Crash beats him up only to be swarmed by two more clowns as he escapes. The two clowns then fight each other, allowing Crash to escape, and it becomes obvious who the clowns are when they argue over the WWF Hardcore Championship.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock. He says he has no problem with Chris Jericho or having a match with him, but he has a problem with the match being a means for Triple H to delay the inevitable, as he is taking the WWF Championship from him at Backlash. He tells Triple H to live it up, have a picnic, fly a kite and "go down to the Philadelphia[, Pennsylvania] zoo and suck some monkey's nipple" with the WWF title until then. The Rock then says that if WWF Chairman Vince McMahon wants to get involved in the WWF Championship match at Backlash, then "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be in his corner, ready to strike. He then says it does not matter what Triple H does or how many lumberjacks throws at him, as he is looking at the next WWF Champion.

Chris Jericho beats The Rock in a Lumberjack Match after constant interference by Triple H and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, who also fight with The Rock during the match, which ends with Shane distracting the referee so that Triple H can hit The Rock with the WWF Champion and placed a downed Chris Jericho over The Rock to give Jericho the win.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 17, 2000

RAW

Before the next match, Triple H tells WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley that he remembers what Chris Jericho called him last week, and says that what X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James did to Jericho will be nothing compared to what he does to him. He tells her that he will show her how a real husband avenges the honor of his wife. Meanwhile, in the ring, Jericho says it seems that he is in hot water yet again, as he was punished last week for calling Stephanie a "bargain basement slut" and "the filthiest, dirtiest, most disgustingly skankiest, brutal bottom-feeding trash bag ho" he has ever seen in his life. He has now come to the ring to apologize to all the bargain basement sluts and the filthy, disgusting, dirty, skanky brutal bottom-feeding trash bag hos for even comparing them to "the slimeball pig" that is Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and for offending anybody with the exception of Stephanie. When Triple H shows up, he chases Jericho out of the ring. Jericho says it valiant and touching that Triple H has come down for Stephanie's honor, but tells him that if he thinks she is special and if he really wants to impress her, then he would put the WWF Championship on the line. Triple H accepts the challenge, and Jericho says that since this is officially a WWF Championship match, he hopes that Triple H doesn't mind if he invests in an insurance policy in the form of The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw), who show up.

Chris Jericho beats Triple H to become the WWF Champion! During the match, Jericho inadvertently catapults Triple H into referee Mike Chioda, but as he goes up top, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon trips Jericho off. The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) chase Shane to the back, then WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley tosses the WWF Championship into the ring. Triple H goes for it, but Jericho kicks Triple H in the face and grabs it first. Senior referee Earl Hebner runs into the ring to referee the rest of the match, and when Triple H notices him, he gets into an argument that quickly gets physical. Triple H shoves Hebner to the mat, then Jericho hits a spinning heel kick followed by an Asai moonsault. Jericho wins the WWF Championship after a fast count from Hebner, and Triple H tries to chase after Hebner after the match only to be stopped by The Acolytes, who tell Triple H that he just lost the title. Stephanie and Triple H are absolutely livid.

In the locker room, Triple H confronts senior referee Earl Hebner, saying he screwed him, and yanks him out of the locker room before bringing him back into the ring. WWF co-owner Shane McMahon also brings referee Mike Chioda into the ring while WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley follows. Triple H grabs the microphone and tells Hebner that he has screwed him and "jobbed him out." He then asks Mike Chioda to put the footage of Chris Jericho's victory on the TitanTron to see the fast count, then asks for his unbiased opinion. Chioda rules Hebner's pinfall count a fast count, and tells Hebner that he screwed Triple H. Triple H allows Chioda to leave, then confronts Hebner again. Shane holds Hebner back while Triple H demands that Hebner reverse the decision, therefore handing the WWF Championship back to him and striking the match between Triple H and Jericho from the record books. Hebner screams "No!" Triple H and Shane threaten to attack Hebner, but Hebner tells Triple H he will reverse the decision on one term: nobody touches him again as long as he is a WWF referee, especially Shane, Stephanie or Triple H. Triple H says he has a deal, and when Triple H asks him if he will reverse the decision, he says that he will Triple H then tells Hebner to go to the back and get the WWF Championship back from around the waist of "that sawed-off midget" Chris Jericho and hand it back to him in the middle of the ring right now. Triple H then tells the fans that they did not see a thing, and that everybody knows that Chris Jericho is not even in his league. CHris Jericho shows up with a microphone in his hand and tells Triple H to shut up, then says that if nobody can believe the match never happened, then nobody can believe that Stephanie has slept with half of the guys in the locker room. He then relinquishes the WWF Championship back to Hebner, who then hands the title back to Triple H. Triple H demands that Hebner put the title back around his waist where it belongs. Hebner places the WWF Championship around his waist, then Triple H tells Hebner that he is a man of his word and that he, Stephanie, Shane or even WWF Chairman Vince McMahon for as long as he is a WWF referee. He then tells Hebner he is fired, and strikes him in the face with the microphone before hitting him with the Pedigree. THe rest of the referees and a few officials then show up before things get worse.

Backstage, Eddie Guerrero is studying for his GED when Chyna shows up and tells him he has a match right now.

WWF co-owner Linda McMahon shows up and is welcomed by Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson.

The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy) beat Essa Rios and Eddie Guerrero after Lita inadvertently flattens Eddie Guerrero with a top rope moonsault. After the match, Chyna hits Essa Rios with a powerbomb and Eddie takes the boots to him.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Linda McMahon is met by WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. Linda tells Shane that she is here tonight to make a very special announcement concerning The Rock, which she is keeping under wraps until she gets in the ring.

Backstage, Triple H refuses to calm down as he wants to know what the announcement concerning The Rock is as well as why WWF co-owner Linda McMahon is here. Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley demand that Shane find out more, considering that he has a way with Linda.

Crash Holly retains the WWF Hardcore Championship against Tazz (who is seen wearing the ECW World Heavyweight Championship on the way to the ring) and Perry Saturn despite Hardcore Holly showing up with his own referee to fight Crash Holly for the title at ringside. Crash ends up retaining when Crash breaks a Tazzmission with a basking sheet and Hardcore Holly hits Saturn with a Michinoku Driver before getting drop kicked by Crash.

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon asks WWF co-owner Linda McMahon to reveal more about the special announcement concerning The Rock. Linda says that it involves Backlash, and that she should head to the ring to make the announcement right now.

In footage from earlier today, Kurt Angle is seen at Penn State University encouraging students to seek the joys of celibacy and to join him in "Olympic Heroes For Abstinence," as the best sex is no sex.

WWF co-owner Linda McMahon is in the ring. She says she is here tonight to address a situation that she deems to be very unfair. She believed it before, and after seeing some footage from Backlash, she believes it even more now. She says that at Backlash, The Rock is scheduled to and will compete against Triple H for the WWF Championship. As she makes her announcement, Triple H and WWF co-owners Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are watching from backstage on a television monitor. Linda says that from what she can see, the deck is already stacked against The Rock, as it has been announced that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon will be in Triple H"s corner, and that Stephanie will position herself somewhere at ringside to "aid and abet" Triple H like she has many times before. She says that The Rock is outnumbered, and while The Rock has not asked for her help or anyone else's, but after watching tonight and watching what happened at WrestleMania, he has decided to put someone in his corner to even the odds. She confirms that it is not Mick Foley, as he was a one time and one night only and is very happily retired at home. However, there will be a very special individual in The Rock's corner who will have The Rock's back in two weeks at Backlash, and that person is none other than "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Backstage, Triple H and Stephanie are livid. Linda and ring announcer Lillian Garcia are talking in the ring when Stephanie, Shane and Triple H show up. Stephanie tells Linda that "unfair: is Linda hopping on a plane thinking she can come into the ring and making decisions she knows nothing about. She says that the last time they were in the ring together, the McMahon-Helmsley had no problem slapping people around. She then says the McMahon-Helmsley regime is all about opportunity, and she gives Linda the opportunity to change her mind. Linda says "No." Stephanie then says she has no plans to change her mind about what she is about to do, and says this will hurt her more than it hurts Linda. Stephanie goes to slap Linda, but Linda deflects it and slaps her back. An enraged Stephanie then sics Triple H on a shocked Linda, but Shane clotheslines Triple H to stop her from hitting Linda with a Pedigree. Linda high-tails it out of the ring as Stephanie slaps both Triple H and Shane to keep them from going at each other's throats. Suddenly, The Rock shows up and says that before Triple H and Shane go at it like Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier and have to be refereed by "that prostitute-in-training" Stephanie, he says he was feeling great as he was facing Triple H for the WWF Championship at Backlash, and that it was a great situation. He then says that after Linda's announcement, a great situation just got better with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in his corner to even the odds. The Rock admits he and Austin have not always seen eye-to-eye, but they have always agreed that Triple H is "the biggest asshole walking God's green earth." He then says that at two weeks in Backlash, he will walk in, whip Triple H's monkey ass, and walk out WWF Champion, and there is no other way.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Triple H, who insists he did not lose the WWF Championship tonight and that nobody beats him. As far as Chris Jericho goes, he is not done with him, as he can bring The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) to the ring so he, X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James can take care of business D-Generation X style in a six-man tag team match.

WAR ZONE

Al Snow and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) after Trish Stratus distracts the referee, allowing Test to hit D-Von Dudley with a top rope elbow drop and put Al Snow on top of D-Von for the win while Albert holds Buh Buh Ray back ringside, even though he puts Snow on top of D-Von in full view of the referee (revealing that Trish Stratus and the referee botched on the distraction). After the match, Test and Albert brawl with The Dudleys, but D-Von back body drops Albert out of the ring and grabs Trish Stratus by the hair. He calls for D-Von to get a table, but Trish buys himself some time by kissing Buh Buh Ray on the lips. Buh Buh Ray goes into a trance, and Trish escapes.

In footage from Penn State University from earlier today, Kurt Angle walks in on two kissing university students, saying he knows where this is going and if they are going to suck on anything, they should suck on a lollipop, which Angle supplies.

Scotty 2 Hotty beats Dean Malenko to become the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion after countering a superplex into an inside cradle.

In footage from earlier today at Penn State University, Kurt Angle tells a group of students about the joys of celibacy. All of a sudden, Big Show shows up passing out condoms, which gets everyone's attention. Kurt Angle asks a student what is wrong with America's youth, to which the student replies "It's true! It's true!"

Big Show beats Chris Benoit by disqualification after Benoit kicks him in the groin, and Chris Benoit retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship. After the match, Kurt Angle runs into the ring and attacks Big Show, attacking his groin in revenge for what he did at Penn State University.

Edge and Christian retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan after Boss Man shoves referee Teddy Long as he and Buchanan take the boots to Edge. After the match, Kane and Paul Bearer show up, and Kane quickly gets the upper hand against Boss Man and Buchanan.

In the locker room, Michael Cole interviews Chris Jericho and The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw). Bradshaw, upon hearing Michael Cole question whether The Acolytes were mentioned under the premise that Triple H could have sneaked them a few dollars, says that while they will take money from anybody, they are standing with Jericho tonight. Faarooq says that if Triple H did pay them off, they would be man enough to tell Cole that. Bradshaw tells Cole "You're about to get your ass whupped for free, you little bitch!" The Acolytes leave, then Jericho tells Cole "I guess you got your answer there, eh, Mitchell?"

Backstage, Edge and Christian run into X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James, who tell them to keep the WWF Tag Team Champ[ionships shined up for them. After Edge and Christian pass by following a short war of words, X-Pac and Road Dogg attack tehm from behind.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James) beat Chris Jericho and The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw). During the match, The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) brawl their way up the ramp with X-Pac and Road Dogg, who are attacked by Edge and Christian on the way to the back. The Acolytes then come back without X-Pac and Road Dogg, distracting Triple H, but The Acolytes are soon attacked by The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan. Triple H then hits the Pedigree for the win.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 10, 2000

RAW

The Rock shows up to start tonight's show. He shows footage from last Thursday's SmackDown main event, where The Rock got his hands on WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and hitting him in the head with a steel chair, and says there is still one more shot that he wants Vince to see and remember forever: Vince laid out on the entrance ramp with The Rock's boot on his chest. He says that after all the humiliation he has put Vince and his children through, he still wants more. Tonight, he wants his shot at the WWF Championship in the place that he calls home. Suddenly, Vince shows up with a steel chair, and The Rock says one of three things will happen: Vince putting the chair down, Vince will attempt to hit him with the chair, and The Rock will turn the chair sideways and stick it straight up his candy ass. Vince says he will put the chair down, but if he makes one move towards him, he will hit him in the head so hard his brains will be crushed papaya. As for The Rock's shot at the WWF Championship tonight, The Rock will be given an opportunity, and should be be victorious against opposition to be named later tonight, he will get his shot at the title. He then points at the ceiling, and a steel cage comes down. The Rock must win a steel cage match in order to get his shot at the WWF Championship, but Vince makes it clear that he is not giving any more gifts and that The Rock must earn everything he gets. Vince then says that somewhere deep down, The Rock is wondering who he is and why he is who he is, and reminds The Rock that he made him who he is over a year ago. He reminds The Rock of his time as the "corporate champion," and admits that while The Rock would have been a star without him, he would never have been a superstar, and he would have been relegated to playing Doink the Clown, the Gobbledygooker or a Bastion Booger. Instead, thanks to him, The Rock became a superstar, became a guest host for Saturday Night Live, became a guest on The Tonight Show, got offers for television shows and movie and even had a best-selling book. Vince then says he was looking for one thing from The Rock and never got it, and that one thing was The Rock looking him in the eye and giving him a "thank you." Vince then places his hand on The Rock's shoulder, then removes it, and says that he chose WrestleMania to humiliate him and remind him of who he is. When The Rock asks Vince if that is what he thinks, and Vince calls The Rock "a complete ingrate." The Rock then tells Vince he "wipes a monkey's ass" with what he thinks, and Vince wants to know what is up with "wiping a monkey's ass" and "licking a llama's anus," and says it is strange thinking and a fixation for the rectal cavity that is not normal, as well as a fixation for feces. He then says that if The Rock took all the feces from the people in a 24-hour period and put it in one giant pizza oven, then everyone would be able to smell what The Rock is cooking. Triple H and WWF co-owners Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Shane McMahon then show up, and as The Rock is distracted, Vince tries to hit The Rock from behind with a steel chair. The Rock takes it from him and hits Vince with it, and keeps everyone else out of the ring.

D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James) beat Edge and Christian to become the WWF Tag Team Champions after Road Dogg uses the belt as a weapon against Christian behind referee Mike Chioda's back...almost. Referee Earl Hebner runs in and tells Chioda what has happened, and Chioda restarts the match, declaring that the match will continue. Edge and Christian quickly retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against D-Generation X shortly after the match is restarted.

Backstage, The Godfather is seen with a few of his hos.

In footage from earlier today, The Kat is reading Raw Magazine when Terri Runnels shows up. Terri asks The Kat if her phone has yet to stop ringing off the hook, then apologizes for her past actions and treats her to a day of beauty in a local spa. The Kat accepts her apology and says she will be right there.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says he is glad that everyone in the crowd is happy and in such a great mood tonight, as he would like to talk about something that gives him great joy: the joy of celibacy. He says the "three I's" are great, but he has had so much success because of the "big A" known as abstinence. He then says that unlike many people in the crowd, he is voluntarily abstinent. Angle then talks about how The Godfather parades out his "filth and debauchery" before giving him a little surprise: a prophylactic. He pulls out a condom, and says that it is time that The Godfather starts to use them. He then tells the children that they can prance and they can dance, but when it comes to relations, keep it in your pants. The Godfather then attacks Angle, starting the next match.

Kurt Angle beats The Godfather despite being slapped by one of The Godfather's hos for using her as a human shield.

We see footage from earlier today where The Kat and Terri Runnels enter a limousine, which speeds off. A red low rider then arrives, and inside is Chyna and Eddie Guerrero, who are entering the arena.

Backstage, Big Show talks with WWF owner Shane McMahon, saying he is going to let it all hang out and he is going to cut loose. He then walks away from the camera and takes his shirt off before throwing it to Shane.

The Radicalz (Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko) beat Tazz and Too Cool (Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi Phatu).

In footage from earlier today, Francois works on The Kat's hair at the spa while Teri Runnels puts something in The Kat's cup of soda. The Kat then drinks the drugged soda.

The Acolytes Protection Agency (Faarooq and Bradshaw) accompany Kaientai (Taka Michinoku and Funaki) to the ring for the next match, and they chase WWF co-owner Shane McMahon to the back.

Triple H retains the WWF Championship against Taka Michinoku. During the match, Funaki baseball slides Triple H into The Acolytes Protection Agency (Faarooq and Bradshaw), who take the inadvertent attack from behind as one that was done on purpose and proceed to attack Triple H before throwing him back in the ring. As referee Earl Hebner is distracted, Funaki and Taka both hit Triple H from the top rope, but Triple H kicks out at two. After words WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon show up, and The Acolytes Protection Agency are about to beat them up when they are attacked from behind by The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan. Triple H then hits Taka with the Pedigree to retain. After the match, Funaki also receives a Pedigree, then puts the boots to The Acolytes Protection Agency along with Vince and Shane.

WAR ZONE

T&A (Test and Albert) attack The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) backstage at the command of Trish Stratus, who says that if The Dudleys want to put their hands on her, then it is time T&A put their hands on them.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat T&A (Test and Albert). After the match, The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) run into the ring and hit Test with a Dudley Death Drop before setting up a tbale in the middle of the ring. Trish Stratus gets on the apron, distracting the Dudleys and allowing Albert to attack the Dudleys from behind and put Buh Buh Ray through a table.

Before the next match, Big Show shows up wearing a towel and a brown wig of long hair in an attempt to mock Val Venis. He then says it is not the motion of the ocean, but the size of the boat that turns women on. He then tells them to pay no attention to the "S.S. Minnow" in the ring and to buy a ticket for the Big Show Titanic if they want to see the real thing. Venis then takes the microphone and tells Big Show that if his brain was as big as his mouth, he would have realized a long time ago that the Titanic sank. He then says that it was not an iceberg that sank the Titanic; instead, it was Big Show's "dimply, fat ass."

Val Venis beats Big Show by disqualification when he uses his long brown wig as a weapon and proceeds to choke Venis out with it.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho tells Eddie Guerrero and Chyna that, regardless of what they believe, he is ecstatic that they are together. He then asks which one of them is the man in the relationship and which one of them has the bigger package before saying the Taco Bell chihuahua has more Latino Heat than Eddie, then says that at least "the Taco Bell chihuahua's bitch is housebroken."

Eddie Guerrero retains the WWF European Championship against Chris Jericho. During the match, Chyna hands the WWF European Championship to Eddie Guerrero, and Jericho and Eddie fight over the belt. Jericho sends Eddie into the back of referee Tim White, knocking him out, and Chyna hits Jericho with a low blow and a DDT before placing Eddie on top of Jericho. Tim White gets up and counts the pinfall, and Eddie retains.

In footage from earlier today, The Kat wkaes up to find out that her hair and make-up and messed up and that the word "Trash" is written on her forehead. Terri also hands The Kat's Pomeranian to her, and the dog is revealed to have its hair cut off so that it looks like it has the mane of a lion.

Before the next match, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, Triple H and WWF co-owners Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up to watch from ringside. It is then revealed that The Rock's opponents are The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan.

The Rock beats The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan in a 2-on-1 handicap Steel Cage Match. After the match, Triple H gets in the ring and attacks The Rock, then puts on a brass knuckle and punches The Rock in the face before WWF co-owner Shane McMahon punches out referee Earl Hebner. Triple H then bust The Rock open with the brass knuckle before putting him in the Pedigree. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley then hands WWF Chairman Vince McMahon a steel chair, then Triple H tells The Rock that if he wants to be in a game with him, then he is in it now and that he is done playing games with him. He then tells The Rock that he is his worst nightmare and that this is just step one. Vince and Shane then pick The Rock up, and Triple H is about to hit The Rock with another Pedigree when The Acolytes Protection Agency (Faarooq and Bradshaw) show up, attack Boss Man and Buchanana from behind, and chase everyone out of the ring.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for April 6, 2000

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon is seen on the phone outside of the arena, waiting for someone.

Chris Benoit retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Rikishi Phatu. After the match, Rikishi hits Benoit with a Samoan drop followed by the Stinkface, a belly-to-belly suplex and the Banzai Drop.

' WWF Chairman Vince McMahon quickly pulls up to the arena.

WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon show up. Vince assures that as soon as D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) are finished with their autograph session, they will be here tonight. As for Raw, Vince says The Rock was so frustrated that he could not beat Shane one-on-one that he took those frustrations on Triple H, whom Vince says The Rock could not also beat one-on-one. He also makes it clear that while The Rock won, he is not the WWF Champion. As he tries to say this, the crowd starts a "Shane's a pussy!" chant, which leads to Vince calling the crowd "downright now." Vince then brings out the referee for that night's match, Earl Hebner. Vince then asks why Earl Hebner would want to count a pinfall in a non-sanctioned match, Earl Hebner says it is because The Rock told him to. Vince says Earl Hebner has impugned the integrity of WWF referees with his bias, and he tells Earl that if he ever does that again, he will knock him on his ass. He then tells Earl to leave, which he does. Vince then brings out ring announcer Lillian Garcia, calls her a "misinformed ring announcer," then says she is not a bad singer. He then tells Vince to assume that it is just the two of them in the ring and to sing him a little song like Do You Know The Way To San Jose by Dionne Warwick while toying with her hair. Dionne Warwick sings the first two lines, then Vince says that "pretty women with a little bit of talent" are a dime-a-dozen and that she can be replaced in an instant. He then says she will be singing the blues the next time she makes a mistake, and tells her to leave. Vince goes on to say that it is not easy being the boss as he is always surrounded by incompetence, then says The Rock is not WWF Champion and that is not likely that he ever will be again. Vince then calls out Jim Ross for saying that he and Shane would not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to The Rock. Vince insists that his testicles are the size of grapefruits while Shane's are the size of pomegranates. He then says that this is because tonight, he and Shane will team up in a 2-on-1 handicap match against The Rock.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) beat T&A (Test and Albert). After the match, Buh Buh Ray Dudley stalks Trish Stratus and grabs her by the hair, but Albert stops D-Von from getting the table, allowing T&A to escape with Trish. Afgterwards, The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) attack The Dudleys, and referees and officials have to pull both teams apart.

Backstage, Kurt Angle asks Scotty 2 Hotty to join him in his quest for tag team gold, but Scotty 2 Hotty tells Kurt Angle that he is not going to turn his back on Grandmaster Sexay as they will win the tag team titles together. He tells Angle to look for someone else, then leaves. All the while, Kurt Angle has no idea what Scotty 2 Hotty is saying.

Tazz vs. Perry Saturn ends before it begins when Saturn attacks Tazz from behind, causing both men to brawl their way backstage.

Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock. The Rock says WWF co-owner Shane McMahon can suck on a monkey's nipple and WWF Chairman Vince McMahon can lick a llama's anus. He says that he is not scared of them or the challenges that they throw out, and while Vince is the owner of a very successful company, and even without anybody's approval, he still stands on the top of his company reigning supreme. He accepts Vince's challenge, and tonight, Shane gets the front of The People's Hand and Vince gets the back, and when all is said and done, they will smell what The Rock is cookin'.

The DX Express pulls up at the arena, and D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James), Tori and WWF co-woner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley arrive to the arena.

The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan beat Al Snow and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. After the match, Blackman attacks Boss Man and Buchanan.

Eddie Guerrero and Chyna arrive to the arena in Eddie Guerrero's low rider.

Eddie Guerrero and Chyna show up. Eddie asks Chyna why she turned on Chris Jericho for him, and Chyna says that she couldn't resist his "Latino heat." Eddie crawls up to Chyna and kisses one of her boots before hugging her leg, then Chyna calls Jericho "poor, little, insecure" and "intimidated," and implies that Chris Jericho has a small penis before saying that Jericho was intimdated that she would show up and steal his glory, which she did. She then says she tried to remember all the times Jericho tried to "get in her pants," and says he couldn't do it because she "wears the pants around here." Eddie says Chyna really is the ninth wonder of the world, and says all the non-European fans cannot understand how proud his Spanish ancestors are of him before putting him on the same level as Spanish historial figures. Suddenly, Jericho runs into the ring and brawls with both Eddie and Chyna, coming out on top before referees try to stop him.

Backstage, Kurt Angle asks Essa Rios to be his tag team partner, with Lita helping as a translator. Essa Rios is not interested.

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon are met by Triple H, who is irritated that D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James) were booked for an autograph session that was booked to run past the beginning of the show so Vince and Shane could book themselves in a handicap match against The Rock. He also says The Rock screwed him Monday, and that he wants The Rock tonight, even if he has to put the WWF Championship on the line. Vince tells Triple H that The Rock is not deserving of a WWF Championship title shot and that the answer is no, and X-Pac and Road Dogg want a shot at The Rock. Vince tells DX to let him and Shane have their night, and that there was no coincidence regarding the autograph session. Afterwards, everyone else leaves the room except for Vince and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, who talks to Vince.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley talks with WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, saying that Triple H is a hothead and says things he does not mean, but agrees that Triple H should not defend the WWF Championship tonight. Vince says The Rock does not deserve that title shot. Stephanie then says that X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James have paid their dues and deserve a shot to kick The Rock's butt, as Vince owns the WWF and he can annihilate The Rock any time he wants to. Vince relents and puts X-Pac and Road Dogg in the handicap match against The Rock.

Dean Malenko retains the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Taka Michinoku with the Texas Cloverleaf.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon is seen watching the footage from last week of Big Show dancing as well as Big Show beating up Grandmaster Sexay, approving of what he is seeing. Big Show (who is unseen) and Shane McMahon then leave the dressing room, with Big Show sporting a new look that has yet to be seen.

Backstage, Mae Young wants to be Kurt Angle's tag team partner. Suddenly, Hardcore Holly shows up, and Angle asks him to be his partner in a match against Edge and Christian for the WWF Tag Team Championships. Hardcore Holly admits he does not like Edge and Christian, and accepts. Mae Young says "What a chump!" as Angle leaves with Hardcore Holly.

Before the next match, Big Show shows up in sunglasses, a black trilby hat, a cane, a black elbow bad, a gold medallion, a black boat and black leather pants, proclaiming himself to be "The Big Pimp." He then says that ahh the women in the crowd will get a big show wrapped in leather if everything goes right tonight.

Big Show beats The Godfather after one of The Godfather's hos distracts referee Tim White so that Big Show can hit The Godfatehr over the back with his cane. After the match, the ho that provided the distraction shares a kiss with Big Show before Big Show carries her to the back.

Edge and Christian retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against Kurt Angle and Hardcore Holly following a double-team superplex to Hardcore Holly. After the match, Kurt Angle blames the loss on Hardcore Holly and says he should have picked Mae Young instead of him. Hardcore Holly responds by beating Angle up.

Before the next match, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up, and ring announcer Tomy Chimel announces that Shane is the special guest ring announcer for the next match. Shane then announces that Earl Hebner will not be the referee for this match and that Hebner is replaced for the match is Triple H. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley then guests on commentary for the next match.

D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James) vs. The Rock ends in a no-contest. During the match, The Rock pushes Road Dogg into special guest referee Triple H before hitting the Rock Bottom. Earl Hebner runs bakc in to count the pinfall, but is punched out by WWF Chairman Vince McMahon. THe Rock then chases Vince to the stage and grabs him before punching him. The Rock then heads to the back, then comes back with a steel chair and hits Vince in the head with it before keeping everyone else at bay.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 3, 2000

RAW

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. Shane publicly apologizes to his father, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, as he always revered and admired in the past. He says that what happened last night was Vince's greatest accomplishment, and he was so proud to be his son. He wants Vince to know that he will always love him very, very much, and it is because of that love that he wants to continue what Vince started last night at WrestleMania. Tonight, he would like to go one-on-one with The Rock, and asks The Rock if he is up for the challenge. Instead of The Rock, he gets Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley instead. Stephanie says she will never forget or forgive what The Rock did to her last night, as she is nowhere near the size of The Rock and The Rock deserved the slap she gave him, even though she did not deserve the Rock Bottom or The People's Elbow, as her neck, back and chest are so sore that she feels like she has been in a skiing accident. Stephanie says any normal woman would not be out here right now, and she appreciates Shane's anger towards The Rock. Triple H takes the microphone and tells Shane that he wants The Rock tonight. He also says the WWF Championship is not on the line as he has proven that The Rock is not in his league and cannot beat him, then says it is a personal issue and that he will hurt him for hurting his wife. After Triple H asks The Rock if he is man enough to accept his challenge, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up and hugs Stephanie before shaking hands with Triple H. Shane then extends his hand, then he and Vince embrace. Vince addresses both Triple H and Shane wanting a piece of The Rock tonight, and says that neither scenario is not the match he had in mind; instead, he wants a piece of The Rock. Vince also says he is not inclined to explain why he "scrambled The Rock's brains" at WrestleMania, as The Rock has a lot in common with the Los Angeles, California fans, as the vast majority of the fans are "vain, egocentric and narcissistic" and have "fake hair, fake teeth and fake boobs" and have undergone liposuction, face lifts and tummy tucks, and says they are not real human beings; instead, they are a bunch of phonies. When the fans start an "asshole" chants, Vince says he hopes the producers have the bleep button ready because he has never been called an asshole by so many people in his life. He then says that the fans are worse than those in the entertainment business, because they are bottom-feeders who want to be part of it. Vince then says the people's dreams of being a star are destined to be shattered over and over again just like The Rock's dream of being WWF Champion, as The Rock has no chance in Hell of winning it again just like the fans have of becoming stars. He then says that regardless of who faces The Rock, they will try not just to beat The Rock but to drive him out of the WWF and into a more suitable profession: waiting tables.

The Rock is seen making his way into the arena.

Before the next match, Eddie Guerrero says Chyna is here for some "Latino heat," because she was coming out of her pants at the sight of him. He then says he has to set her aside tonight to focus on the WWF EUropean Championship and make all his ancestors in Spain proud. He then dedicates his European Championship match to Chyna.

Eddie Guerrero beats Chris Jericho to become the WWF European Champion! During the match, Eddie Guerrero inadvertently knocks referee Tim White out of the ring following a drop toe hold by Chris Jericho, and Chyna has to revive Tim White before making the count herself. After Chyan declares Jericho the winner, she hits Jericho with a kick to the gut followed by a DDT and gets referee Tim White back into the ring to make the pinfall. After the match, Chyan personally hands the European title to Eddie, then heads to the back with him.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley asks WWF Chairman Vince McMahon to allow Triple H take on The Rock tonight, saying it only seems right for Triple H to avenge what The Rock did to her, and tells Vince he does not have to protect her anymore. Vince says he will think about it

D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James) beat T&A (Test and Albert) after Road Dogg hits a low blow behind referee Jimmy Korderas' back so that X-Pac can hit Albert with the X-Factor.

Backstage, Kurt Angle complains to ring announcer Howard Finkel about losing both the WWF European and Intercontinental Championship, but Finkel tells him rules are rules. Angle apologizes to Finkel and leaves, then turns around and chokes Finkel out with a crossface chicken wing.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon knows that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon has talked to WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley concerning who will face The Rock tonight. Vince tells Shane he will work something out, but Shane takes that as Vince letting him have a shot at The Rock tonight.

Chris Benoit retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Tazz. During the match< Perry Saturn tries to get involved, but Tazz pushes Benoit into the ropes, knocking Perry Saturn down from the top turnbuckle. Tazz fights off Saturn, but it ends up becoming a distraction that Benoit takes advantage of to win with a German suplex bridge pin. After the match, Tazz gets Saturn in the Tazzmission, but Benoit attacks Tazz to break the hold. Tazz catches up with Saturn and attacks him again, and this time their brawl goes to the back.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon talks with Big Show, who says that it is time to go Hollywood and become a superstar.

Michael Cole introduces Edge and Christian. Instead of coming out of the crowd, however, Edge and Christian come out from the back and down the aisle. Edge tells Michael Cole they can take it from here, and boot Michael Cole out of the ring. Edge says that last night, they became tag team champions in what is probably the most spectacular match of all time. Edge says they were great, but Christian says they were "really great." As Edge admits that as great as they are, they needed great opponents, and he brings out The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy), who show up. Christian asks the crowd to give The Hardy Boyz another round of applause, and Edge says The Hardys did a good job as Christian says there is no shame in being second best before mocking The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) while saying "or third best, for that matter." The Dudley Boyz show up, and as The Hardys look towards the back from the apron, Edge and Christian knock them off. The Dudleys then fight Edge and Christian, sending Edge out of the ring before hitting Christian with a Dudley Death Drop. The Hardys then get back in the ring and brawl with The Dudleys, and Edge and Christian run away while referees and officials have to break the brawl between The Hardys and The Dudleys up.

Backstage, Chyna and Eddie Guerrero are speaking Spanish to each other when they come across an orange low rider. Eddie helps Chyna in first, then he gets in the driver's seat and drives off after showing off the hydraulics.

WAR ZONE

Big Show beats Rikishi Phatu by disqualification after Grandmaster Sexay gets involved in the match. After the match, Scotty 2 Hotty does The Worm to make up for Big Show mocking it earlier in the match only to miss the elbow drop when Rikishi rolled out of the way. Afterwards, Big Show is seen taking a look at Rikishi and Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) dance.

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon meets with Triple H and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. He dictates taht whoever draws the short straw will get The Rock tonight. Shane ends up drawing the short straw. Afterwards, Vince says he wanted to face The Rock. Triple H says he wanted to, too, then says that you never let the guy holding the straws go second.

Big Show is in the ring again. He says that all of his life, people have told him about what an athlete he is, and that people have told him he is the biggest, baddest meanest competitor in the business today as well as a completely unstoppable monster, and they are right. He then says there is more to him than that, as he proved that he can be a talented, funny guy on Saturday Night Live. He then says there is much more to him than just headbutts and choke slams, as he sometimes feels like either fighting, relaxing or dancing. He then tries to dance to Too Cool's (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) theme. This leads to a "Go Big Show!" chant, but the music is suddenly stopped.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews The Rock. The Rock says it is truly amazing with all the decisions WWF Chairman Vince McMahon has made in his lifetime mean nothing after what he did to him last night when Vince smacked him in the head with a steel chair at WrestleMania, and says that Vince made the biggest mistake of a lifetime. As sure as he is going to whip WWF co-owner Shane McMahon's ass, how he beat up WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, he will become WWF Champion again.

Backstage, Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) make fun of Big Show as well as his dancing.

Crash Holly beats Hardcore Holly to become the WWF Hardcore Champion! During the match, The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) show up and beat up Hardcore Holly, then allow Crash Holly to pin Hardcore Holly to win the title, revealing that he has paid The Acolytes off. After the match, The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) go after Crash Holly, but once again, they all fight each other over who will beat Crash to become Hardcore Champion.

Backstage, Triple H congratulates WWF co-owner Shane McMahon on getting the match with The Rock tonight. He tries to help him out, but he realizes that no advice he has can help Shane, so he just tells Shane to be careful.

In the locker room, Big Show talks to Grandmaster Sexay, and asks if his dancing was really that bad. Grandmaster Sexay says it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good, either. Big Show then punches him before splashing him through a table. Big Show then puts on Grandmaster Sexay's hat and goggles and says he is going to meet with his agent.

Before the next match, Val Venis is interrupted by Kurt Angle before he can talk about "The Big Valbowski." Angle then says that this is one of the darkest days in WWF history, if not United States history, as he has lost both the WWF Intercontinental and European Championship at WrestleMania. He says that he has received calls from parents saying that their children were too depressed to go to school today, and he odes not blame the children. He also says he does not know if the WWF will survive without him as "Eurocontinental Champion." ANgle says that in less than 24 hours, he has gone from holding to titles to being forced to wrestle a film star, which he calls "the lowest form of life there is." Since he cares about his body and does not want to taint himself, he is wearing rubber sanitary gloves. Val Venis then attacks Angle before he can get the gloves off, giving an early start to the next match.

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon tells WWF co-owner Shane McMahon "I've got your back."

Kane beats Bull Buchanan after knocking The Big Boss Man off the apron. After the match, The Big Boss Man attacks Kane with his nightstick, then he and Bull Buchanan handcuff Kane to the turnbuckle. Paul Beare attacks Bull Buchanan with a steel chair to the abck, but it has no effect and Bull Buchanan takes the steel chair to smack it against the ring post, potentially injuring Kane's hand.

Before the next match, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up to stand along WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. When The Rock runs in, he goes after Vince and pulls his jacket off as Vince and Shane run out of the ring. Shane tries to get back in the ring, but The Rock sees Vince telling Shane to get in the ring and chases him towards the back. Triple H then comes out from backstage and starts beating The Rock up while WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley makes her way towards the ring. All the while, Vince gets in referee Earl Hebner's way, keeping him from seeing a thing.

The Rock beats Shane McMahon and Triple H in an impromptu Triple Threat Match. During the match, The Rock inadvertently hits referee Earl Hebner in the back of the head while knocking Vince McMahon off the apron, and Triple H takes the opportunity to hit The Rock with a Pedigree before laying Shane's arm on top of The Rock. Triple H then tries to revive Hebner, but Shane only get a two-count. Triple H then grabs Hebner so that Vince can hit The Rock with the WWF Championship, but The Rock kicks Vince and knocks Shane out of the ring. Triple H then hits The Rock from behind and proceeds to gang up on him in the corner, and when Hebner tries to get Triple H out of the corner, Triple H saves Hebner all the way to the other side of the ring.The Rock manages to fight back and hit Triple H with a Rock Bottom, and The Rock pins Triple H to get the win even though Triple H is not officially part of the match.

Kane and Rikishi Phatu beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley).

The DX Express pulls up, with Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley catch up with Tori, X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James.

Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up. Triple H says that there are three days left until WrestleMania, when four of the biggest stars in the WWF ever step into the ring for a Fatal 4-Way Match to determine who the true WWF Champion. He then says you would have to be crazy not to say that the intensity has picked up, then talks about how he calls himself "The Game" every week because he eats, sleeps, breathe and thinks nothing else but the business, and because he has bled, sweated and paid the ultimate price to be the best in the business. He then says there is not a man in the back who can tell him that he is not the very best at what he does, as he has no equal in the ring and he will leave WrestleMania as the WWF Championship as he is just that damn good. Suddenly, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up and says everyone is about to find out just how good Triple H is before stating that Triple H is unusually confident and may have found a way to weasel out of the match and stay WWF Champion on a disqualification or a count-out. Vince then announces that the match for the WWF Championship will have no disqualifications, no count-outs and a definite winner. Vince then wishes Triple H luck, then leaves. Triple H then says that as unfair and ridiculous as that is, he is not shaken, and he tells Vince to remember who he is talking to as he is the man that retired Mick Foley and no disqualifications mean nothing to him. Suddenly, Mick Foley shows up, and while he admits Triple H retired him and put him out of the business, he is back in the business for one night at WrestleMania. Now that the match is no disqualifications, he then says it would not hurt to bring a 2x4 with barbed wire wrapped around it. He then admits that he said he would not hurt him with a barbed wire bat, he did promise to take what was most dear to him; however, he sees no reason not to do that and hurt him at the same time, and says the main difference between them is that after WrestleMania, Triple H will have to go back to work while he doesn't, and he is not afraid to let it all hang out this Sunday and it does not matter to him if he is in a hospital bed after he takes the WWF Championship from Triple H. He then says it will be a long time before wrestling fans ever see him again, and says it is an honor to be in everyone's living rooms every Monday and Thursday night and that WrestleMania will be "one hell of a match." He then tells Triple H to get his lip marks off the WWF Championship, as he is coming home with the gold.

Backstage, Kurt Angle is seen talking to an old man named Phil who works in the arena about his match tonight. Big Show finds Kurt Angle and tells him they need to have a conversation.

Tazz vs. Crash Holly for the WWF Hardcore Championship ends in a no-contest. During the match, Viscera shows up as Crash and Tazz fight their way to the back to beat up both men, and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) also get in volved. The five-man brawl ends up backstage near some company 18-wheelers, where everyone fights over the Hardcore Championship.

We see GTV footage from Val Venis' hotel room, where The Kat shows up and says she will let him decide "who comes out on top" at her match at WrestleMania as a special guest referee. The Kat then gets on the bed, and Val Venis tells her that the less she does, the better her match will be.

We see footage from during the commercial break where Crash Holly gets away from Viscera, Tazz and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) only to be attacked by The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs), who fight each other over the WWF Hardcore Championship yet again. This alerts everyone else, who chases after Crash again.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) guest on commentary for the next match.

D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James) beat Edge and Christian after Edge pushes Road Dogg into referee Tim White to avoid a pump handle slam and The Hardy Boyz attack Edge and Christian while Tim White is down.

Backstage, Mick Foley tells The Rock to keep his eyes open and ears alert backstage before WrestleMania, and offers to watch his back. The Rock declines his help.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle tells his young fans they have his permission to stay up Sunday night to watch him retain the WWF European and Intercontinental Championship, and he is sure that he will repeat as "Euro-continental Champion" as he is sure that the San Antonio Spurs will not repeat an NBA Championship win this year.

The Rock beats Kurt Angle. When the match begins, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up to watch the match from ringside, distracting The Rock at the start of the match. Shortly afterwards, Big Show and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon also show up to watch from ringside. Later in the match, Triple H gets in the ring, distracting referee Earl Hebner so that Big Show can hit The Rock with a choke slam. The Rock kicks out, then hits Angle with a Rock Bottom for the win. After the match, The Rock fights off Big Show and Triple H, but Big Show headbutts The Rock to the mat. Triple H and Big Show then gang up on The Rock, then WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up with a steel chair. Vince hits Triple H and Big Show with the chair, but Shane hits Vince and The Rock in the face with the WWF Championship before holding it up alongside Big Show. When Triple H gets back in the ring, Shane also hits Triple H in the face with it.

It is announced before the next match that Chris Jericho will host Countdown To WrestleMania this Saturday at 7:30 PM Eastern/6:30 PM Central, which features a preview of the main event, behind-the-scenes footage and Joe C. going one-on-one with WWF superstars.

Before the next match, Eddie Guerrero tells Chris Jericho that he would like to get some things straight with Chyna before he spanks Jericho tonight. He tells Chyna that when he found out he was going to have the opportunity to wrestle her at WrestleMania, he admits that he got excited, and says that she is oozing with excitement judging by the twinkle in her eye and that she wants to dance with him at WrestleMania. He then says that if Chyna thinks he is sexy, all she has to do is let him know.

Chris Jericho beats Eddie Guerrero by disqualification after Chris Benoit interferes. After the match, Benoit and Guerrero attack Jericho in the corner, then Chyna confronts Guerrero and chases him to the back while Benoit attacks Jericho. Kurt Angle then runs into the ring and hits both men with his signature slam.

WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley shows up with a letter in her hand. She says that is a fan letter, and she shares the contents of it with the crowd as she says it echoes their feelings. The letter comes from an 18-year-old fan named Donna McCleary, who calls Stephanie a role model to her and her friends. She talks about how she first saw Stephanie when she started watching, and how she fooled everybody in her family and friends after taking all the abuse that she did. She then says that this is why she admires her so much, and says that everyone is just jealous of a woman with so much power. Donna then says in her letter that she identifies with Stephanie and wants to be just like her before wishing her and Triple H luck at WrestleMania. Suddenly, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up, and he says he has a headache for all the right reasons and that listening to Stephanie would be a headache enough. Vince says he cannot tell if Stephanie wrote a letter to herself or if the youth of America is "going to Hell in a hand basket," then WWF co-owner Linda McMahon shows up and tells Vince that the constant bickering has to stop, as she cannot imagine how much further this can go and that the family is in the situation it is in because of Vince's actions. She then demands that Vince exercise his role as patriarch of the family and fix the situation, then heads back to the back. Vince says he has been asked to fix the situation, and guarantees that this is exactly what he will do at WrestleMania. He then says he will not wait until WrestleMania and that he will start fixing the situation tonight in San Antonio, Texas. He says that since Stephanie likes to slap people around so much, she will be in her very first official wrestling match, and it will be in the ring tonight against Jacqueline.

We see GTV footage where Terri Runnels is in bed with Val Venis at the hotel. Terri tells Venis that she doesn't wanting in their past to cloud his judgment as special guest referee at WrestleMania. Venis tells Terri not to worry, as "fair play" is his middle name.

Backstage, Crash Holly is attacked by Hardcore Holly. He flees into the office of The Acolytes Protection Agency (Faarooq and Bradshaw), and Faarooq, Bradshaw, Kaientai (Taka Michinoku and Sho Funaki), The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs), The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh), Tazz and Viscera all go after him. Crash runs into the ring and says this is getting out of control and that he has to call off the 24/7 rule off. He then says that everyone coming after him deserves a shot, and proposes a 15-minute hardcore battle royal where the last person to get a pinfall becomes the WWF Hardcore Champion. After Crash asks everyone surrounding the ring to give him time to rest for WrestleMania, Hardcore Holly gets in the ring and tells Crash to quit with the whining and belly-aching as he got himself in this mess. He then accepts the challenge on behalf of everyone else, but tells Crash that the issue between them is personal. Hardcore Holly punches Crash, who then flees into the crowd.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley tries to figure out what to do concerning her match against Jacqueline with Triple H.

Dean Malenko retains the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Scotty 2 Hotty. During the match, Perry Saturn pulls Scotty 2 Hotty out of a pinfall and beats him up only for Grandmaster Sexay to come to Scotty's rescue. As referee Tim White is distracted, Scotty 2 Hotty gets Malenko in an inside cradle, but Eddie Guerrero rolls it around so that Malenko is on top of Scotty, giving Malenko the win.

The music video for Know Your Role by Method Man from WWF Aggression is replayed.

GTV footage is played where Val Venis is in the hotel room when Mae Young runs in. Venis tells Mae Young that if she even thinks of taking her clothes off, she will run every chance The Kat has of winning at WrestleMania and that he will have to be on Viagra for the rest of his life if he even sees one spider vein. He then kicks Mae Young out of the hotel room.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat T&A (Test and Prince Albert), then Albert hits Matt Hardy with a powerbomb before Test hits Matt with an elbow drop off Albert's shoulders. As T&A and Trish Stratus leave, Edge and Christian run into the ring, and Chrristian hits Matt with the Impaler before Edge pulls a ladder out from underneath the ring. Edge and Christian then climb up the ladder only The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) to run into the ring and push the ladder down before hitting The Hardy Boyz with the ladder. The Dudleys then put the ladder back up in the center of the ring, climb up and pose.

Backstage, Trish Stratus talks with T&A (Test and Prince Albert) backstage when Al Snow and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman attack T&A from behind with Kendo sticks. Blackman then takes a second to admire Trish Stratus' body.

Before the next match, D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, Tori) wish WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley well before the match begins.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley beats Jacqueline to become the WWF Women's Champion after Triple H distracts referee Earl Hebner so that X-Pac can trip Jacqueline and Tori can hit Jacqueline with a DDT. After the match, all of DX (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, Tori, Stephanie) celebrate, then Kane and Rikishi show up and beat up X-Pac and Road Dogg. Suddenly, everyone participating in WrestleMania runs into the ring and start fighting each other until The Rock and Mick Foley are the only two people left in the ring. Triple H and Stephanie then show back up and hold up their championships on the stage to end the show.
