Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 9, 1996

Faarooq Asaad beats Savio Vega to advance to the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament, where he will face Sycho Sid. As Sunny brags about what Faarooq will do in the semi-finals, Sycho Sid shows up and stares down with Faarooq, but officials keep both men from going at it with one another.

Carlos Sabrera from the Spanish commentary table interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Jose Lothario in the ring. Michaels says that he has single-handedly dismantled everyone in Camp Cornette (Jim Cornette, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Vader) except for Cornette, and at In Your House: Mind Games, he's sending Jose Lothario to clean his clock as "The Heartbreak Kid don't beat on women." Lothario says it's personal between him and Cornette, and he plans to kick his butt like nobody has before. Shawn tells Mankind that he has run roughshod through the WWF until now, and while he never is the biggest or the strongest, he has more guts than brain and he plans to put a stop to Mankind at In Your House. He also tells Mankind and Paul Bearer that The Undertaker will find them and bury them both, but in the meantime, he tells Mankind not to hunt what he can't kill, as he won't be his mother or his friend, but he will be his daddy. As Shawn and Jose Lothario leave, it is announced that this month's Playgirl with Shawn on the cover is out now.
