The nWo street team is seen holding signs in the crowd before the opening match.
Dean Malenko beats Brad Armstong with an inside cradle-like pin. During the match, referee Nick Patrick's neckbrace is brought up on the flagship show, and it is mentioned that he doesn't wear it 100% of the time on WCW Saturday Night and WCW Pro Wrestling, with Nick Patrick that on some days he feels better than others concerning his neck.
Debra McMichael and Steve "Mongo" McMichael advertise the denim blue Nitro shirt, only $39.95 with $7.95 shipping and handling.
The New World Order show up in two limousines.
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beats Michael Wallstreet after Wallstreet takes Duggan's roll of tape away from him only to turn his back, wrap his fist up and run into a tackle from a three-point stance from Duggan as soon as he turns around.
Hugh Morrus beats Jim Powers after referee Nick Patrick's neck hurts while counting to three for Jim Powers twice, yet Patrick has no problem counting to three for Hugh Morrus. Before the match, Tony Schiavone give a special word of thanks to "Mr. Lawler" for helping promote this event and putting people in the seats of Memphis, Tennesee's Mid-South Coliseum before stating "we'll see him at the flea market on Thursday." During the match, it is announced that the injuries that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair received last week are more severe than originally thought after it is announced that Flair has had an MRI. Theodore Long and Nick Patrick argue after the match.
This Rough and Ready (Mike Enos and Dick Slater) vs. The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian)! Lex Luger! Savage! Diamond Dallas Page! Dean Malenko! Chris Jericho! The New World Order!
Lex Luger beats Gret "the Hammer" Valentine with the Torture Rack after Valentine gets caught using the ropes while trying to pin Luger. During the match, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson is seen watching the match from backstage rooting on Valentine. Also, Vincent and Ted DiBiase of The New World Order are seen in the crowd, and it is announced that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is demanding to make a live announcement tonight. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews referee Nick Patrick, and it is announced that the fine on "Macho Man" Randy Savage for attacking Patrick will be $500 and that he will miss the first five matches of 1997. Patrick tells WCW they will have a war with his legal staff as a result of this decision from the WCW Board of Directors. It is also noted that the referee in "nWo Saturday Night" from last week's episode of WCW Saturday Night acts and sounds much like Patrick. Patrick says the accusations of him being in The New World Order are untrue, and says that the referee in that match is really Randy Anderson.
Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour. It is announced at first that Eric Bischoff is not here, but it is then announced that he will speak with "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Bischoff interviews Savage on the way to his match with Mike Enos. Savage says that The New World Order is in the building, which means "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is the building. He wants to take Hogan on in the ring right now. Eric Bischoff then shows Savage a video message from Miss Elizabeth, where Elizabeth says that saying sorry to him will never be enough and that she really is a coward for acting out of anger. She wishes that Savage would find forgiveness for some of the things she did and said to him. She tells Savage that she regrets siding with "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan due to how badly Hogan wants to hurt Savage, and wishes she knew how to reach Savage. She tells Savage she feels the same way about him as she did when they got married. Savage's demeanor turns from determined to sullen, and he has no words. Savage paces back and forth, then heads to the back. Bischoff and the cameraman follow Savage to a white limousine, and he gets in before Bischoff can ask him another question. The white limo departs from the arena.
In pre-recorded footage from earlier today, Eddie Edwards tells Diamond Dallas Page he is a one-move wrestler, and he proved it by beating him. He tells DDP he can break an arm or an leg, but not his heart and spirit, and he promises to kick his butt at Halloween Havoc.
Eddie Guerrero beats The Cheetah Kid.
Lee Marshal calls from Minneapolis, Minnesota for the upcoming show there on October 18th in the Target Center for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report. Tickets are available for the show now at all Ticketmaster outlets.
Before the next match, Eric Bischoff makes a reference to the "Double J scandal" in the WWF, saying that "Jarrett can't sing a lick."
Jeff Jarrett beats Big Bubba after Jeff Jarrett punches Jimmy Hart, Big Bubba punches referee Randy Anderson in the eye and Jimmy Hart - who attacks Jeff Jarrett during the match out of hometown jealousy - tosses his microphone to Bubba for use as a weapon only for it to backfire when he runs into a drop kick from Jarrett. Tony Schiavone interviews Jarrett after the match, and it is announced that after Jarrett has thrown his hat in the ring to face The Giant at Halloween Havoc, Jarrett is now officially substituting for "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair in the match. Jarrett says he feels great tonight, as he been making an impact on World Championship Wrestling as he said he would, and he tells The Giant that he'll find that out the hard way at Halloween Havoc. He says that he is not the strongest or the tallest wrestler, but he considers himself the smartest wrestler today, and when he chops The Giant down to size and puts him in the Figure Four Leg Lock, the nWo will be forced to respect WCW, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and of course, Jeff Jarrett.
The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) ends in a no-contest. At the beginning of the match, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael show up to watch the match from ringside. During the match, The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) show up in the crowd with cans of spray paint, and spit towards both The Faces of Fear and Harlem Heat, who immediately confront The Outsiders. The Outsiders leave soon after.
The New World Order ("Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, "Sting," Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Vincent, The Giant, Syxx, Ted DiBiase) show up with Miss Elizabeth. Hogan mocks "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and talks about how he can push any button on Savage to make him do whatever he wants. Miss Elizabeth tries to slap Hogan as she calls her "the greatest actress in the world" and brags about making Savage break down and cry, and states that Savage isn't even deserving of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) show up wearing nWo shirts and with nWo contracts in their hands. Hogan tells them to call on him if they need anything. Knobbs mentions errors in their contracts, and when Hogan looks them over, we find out that Hogan didn't sign off on them, and tells them they don't wear their colors until he tells them. The nWo then attack The Nasty Boys and tag them with spray paint, revealing their initiation into the nWo to be a set-up. Hogan uses The Nasty Boys as an example of what he will do to Savage at Halloween Havoc, then tells Savage his life has fallen apart because of him and that Miss Elizabeth dreamed about him before her marriage to Savage fell apart. He then says he's flying back to Hollywood and taking Elizabeth with him, then tells Savage he will beat him at Halloween Havoc. Hall, Nash and Syxx force Eric Bischoff and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, then Hall and Nash tell Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) that they will find out the nWo is all about and say that they're really "two country bumpkins from Texas.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 16, 1996
Tony Schiavone apologizes to Sting for thinking he actually joined The New World Order, saying that Sting was in Japan - and not at Nitro - at the time and that commentary should have known this. (The author is not making this statement up and wants to beat his head on the desk.)
Earlier tonight, the nWo street team handed out flyers stating "Bad just arrived. We're here to stay." to people entering the arena.
Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Juventud Guerrera. Just before the end of the match, the nWo street team is seen celebrating their win in War Games last night outside of the arena.
Mike Tenay interviews "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael. Mongo tells Lex Luger to get Sting and tell him to come back, and Debra tells Luger that he and Sting. Benoit says he and Mongo prophesied that Luger and Sting would not deliver at War Games, and tells them to prepare to pay the price.
We see a video package of Glacier, who explains that he trained in the martial arts in Japan, and that he met some of Japan's best wrestlers as he taught the martial arts himself. Now he has put martial arts and wrestling together to create a superior style. He also explains the symbols on his armor, which is reminiscent of gladiators throughout time.
Diamond Dallas Page beats Ice Train after DDP grabbed Theodore Long's towel and threw it into the ring, and referee Nick Patrick takes it as Long throwing in the towel on Ice Train's behalf. During the match, it is mentioned that "Mean" Gene Okerlund has disappeared, with Okerlund having not appeared at Fall Brawl. (In reality, Okerlund's contract with WCW had expired and Okerlund tried to get back into the World Wrestling Federation. The WWF would eventually turn him down and he would eventually return to WCW until it closed in 2001.) Also, the nWo street team block the WCW merchandise table, and the match ends as the camera is focused on them, so the viewers get no chance to see what happened. After the match, Ice Train tries to get his hands on Nick Patrick.
The 1-2-3 Kid is seen sitting in the front row.
Konnan retains the Mexican Heavyweight Championship (which is now represented by the AAA Americas Heavyweight Championship) against Super Calo.
Mike Tenay interviews The 1-2-3 Kid, who says he's trying to keep it incognito as he has a deal in Japan, and says that he tried to make it to last night's show but couldn't catch it in time.
This weekend on WCW Saturday Night: The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet)! Jim Powers! Rey Mysterio Jr!. The Taskmaster and Konnan in tag team action!
Brad Armstrong beats Hugh Morrus after reversing a very lazy pin following No Laughing Matter. Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.
Mike Tenay interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Savage tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan it will get scary at Halloween Havoc as he's down to one marble and he has nothing left to lose taking the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from him. Not long after Savage enters the ring, we see The New World Order (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, "Sting," Ted DiBiase) celebrate in front of the limousine outside of the arena. Kevin Nash says there's nobody left in WCW to beat up.
Scott "Flash" Norton beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage after Savage attacks him with a chair. Referee Nick Patrick tries to stop Savage, but Savage simply tosses him to the floor.
Glacier beats Big Bubba in his Nitro debut.
The real Sting shows up. He explains that last Monday night, he turned on Nitro and saw everyone - fans, wrestlers, commentators - doubt him. It is noticed by commentary that Sting is not looking into the camera like he normally does, and is instead staring right at the fans in the front row. On Saturday night, he saw more of the same as he stayed in seclusion. At Fall Brawl, he told Lex Luger it wasn't him and was again doubted. He says he's been mediator and babysitter for Luger so many times in the last year, and he has carried the WCW banner and given blood, sweat and tears for WCW. He tells those that never doubted him that he will stand by them if they stand by him. For those that did, they can stick it. From now on, he considers himself a free agent, but that doesn't mean he's gone. Instead, he's going to pop up when we least expect it. The commentary team wonders if Sting will still be here tonight. Chris Jericho and Marcus Bagwell come out for the next match - a tag team match - but when "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's music plays, Flair is nowhere to be seen. Backstage, Miss Elizabeth is still shaken after the events of War Games from last week, and is scared that The New World Order may be here. She stays behind as Woman tags along solo with Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Before the match happens, The 1-2-3 Kid stands up on his seat, produces a remote control and presses a button. New World Order flyers fall from the roof of the arena as the nWo street team walk around carrying signs, and The 1-2-3 Kid is confirmed as the sixth man of The New World Order.
After the break, it is revealed that the nWo flyers have varying messages on them, such as "We beat you...now you pay all the bills" and "Now we do TV our way." Eric Bischoff states that he was forced by the New World Order to agree to give the New World Order their own show in order for War Games to happen last night, and now that the nWo has won, he has to do it.
The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson) beat Marcus Bagwell and Chris Jericho by pinfall during the Figure Four Leg Lock after Woman rakes Bagwell's eyes as referee Nick Patrick isn't looking. During the match, it is revealed that The 1-2-3 Kid is officially part of The New World Order as everyone else celebrates. The Giant plays something with a boombox, and it happens to be the the same message about trust that was heard when Sting was suspected to be a member of The New World Order, just before Lex Luger was attacked by the fake Sting. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan declares that Sting has been stung.
Before the main event, it is revealed via director Craig Leathers that Sting is no longer in the building. Lex Luger has to face "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael alone.
Lex Luger vs. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichaels ends when "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson interfere in the match as Luger has Benoit in the Tourture Rack. Luger is able to fight everyone off for a while, but the numbers game quickly catches up with him. We then find out that The 1-2-3 Kid is officially known as "Syxx," and we then see The New World Order in their limousine watching the show from inside. Now that it has been revealed during the match by Eric Bischoff that a lot of WCW Superstars are heading to Japan next week and "Macho Man" Randy Savage is staying behind - much to the displeasure of Mike Tenay and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan - Savage is their next target.
Earlier tonight, the nWo street team handed out flyers stating "Bad just arrived. We're here to stay." to people entering the arena.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for July 15, 1996
The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Fire and Ice (Scott "Flash" Norton and Ice Train) after Ice Train accidentally hits the Ice Splash on Norton while he holds Rick Steiner down. During the match, Theodore Long shows up and watches the match from the entryway. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Big Bubba, Jimmy Hart and The Taskmaster after the match. The Taskmaster says that everyone is watching their own back, and that he and Jimmy lived to see the end of Hulkamania but did not expect Hulk Hogan to do what he did and try to take WCW over. Jimmy Hart says that they will do whatever it takes to get rid of the Four Horsemen once and for all. As Jimmy Hart speaks, Fire and Ice are arguing with one another as they head to the back and The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) show up. Big Bubba tells Sting to worry about him and not Luger or Hogan, as Sting has a concussion and he plans to put him to sleep permanently. The Taskmaster then focus on "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, saying that Benoit has gotten too personal with him now after what happened at Bash at the Beach.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Fire and Ice (Scott "Flash" Norton and Ice Train), and Norton and Ice Train argue until Theodore Long shows up and says that they make a great tag team and he does not want to see them break up. Dean Malenko beats Billy Kidman with the Texas Cloverleaf.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kevin Greene. He finds it outrageous how Hulk Hogan has stabbed everyone in the back, but the real reason he's here is for Steve "Mongo" McMichael, and he tells Mongo he doesn't want to wait any longer and he wants revenge.

Hall and Nash attack Luger - back from a concussion and a nearly detached retina - and Hulk Hogan joins in not longer after, wearing all black in his first appearance since Bash at the Beach. Luger and Big Bubba are laid out by The Outsiders, and while Luger is rolled out of the ring, Hogan shakes Big Bubba's hand before Hall and Nash turn on Bubba before they too toss him out of the ring. "Mean" Gene Okerlund shows up and interviews Hogan and The Outsiders, and Hogan says he wishes he had done this two years ago, as The New World Order is taking over professional wrestling, as he considers himself bigger than the sport itself and The Outsiders will rule it with him. He also doesn't care if the fans are disgusted with him, telling them to stick it again. As for as people like Sting go, Hogan says Sting was a skinny little bodybuilder when he shook his hand ten years ago, and he also says he was sick and tired of "Macho Man" Randy Savage's crying, blaming Hogan for his divorce from Miss Elizabeth. He then says he's done with the kids for not wanting to go down the same path as him anymore. He says he won't deal with Macho Man or Sting anymore, as he's headed to the top of the ladder and he's going to dismantle the Ted Turner organization all in one night, beat The Giant, turn the WCW World Heavyweight Championship into the nWo World Heavyweight Championship and reign supreme from that day forward. He says if Ted Turner has any boys in the back with any guts at all, he can send them in, as they'll beat up everyone in WCW right now. It is announced that Tony Schiavone will be on both hours of the show, due to the beating that Eric Bischoff received last night at the hands of Diesel and Razor Ramon.
Rick Steiner beats Stevie Ray. Immediately after the match, Booker T attacks Rick, and he and Stevie Ray are about to hit the Harlem Hangover on Rick when Scott Steiner shows up and protects Rick.
Before the next match, Disco Inferno says that everyone came to see him dance, and asks everyone if they want to see him dance. He is about to dance, but Joe Gomez' music plays instead.
Joe Gomez beats Disco Inferno in his Nitro debut after reversing a pin attempt from a cocky Disco. During the match, it is mentioned that Hulk Hogan called WCW recently, saying if that there is a war going on, he wants his name in the hat. Also, the encore for The Great American Bash is on June 18th.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Debra McMichael says she turned against Kevin Greene because of the great company and for the money. Flair brags about Kevin Greene lying in a hospital bed, and tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage that Miss Elizabeth won't be coming back to him and that he will find out why he's on the top of the world, and that he will get hurt and get hurt bed.
The Four Horsemen ("The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit) beat The American Males (Marcus Alexander Bagwell and Scotty Riggs) after Anderson grabs onto Riggs' foot during the pinfall. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Anderson and Benoit after the match. Anderson says that everyone is in shock, and that everybody likes when somebody says what they're going to do and then does it. The Horsemen are now at full strength, and while he had a deal with The Taskmaster, one man takes a bath and the other gets rich when a deal goes south, and says it must be tough for The Taskmaster down at the bottom of the wading pool and that there is only room for four Horsemen. Benoit tells Taskmaster that every action has a reaction, and his quest to nullify the Horsemen lead to them becoming stronger than ever.
John Tenta stops Jimmy Hart form interfering - and puts his foot on the ropes - to beat Big Bubba. After the match, Tenta chases after Jimmy Hart, who tosses a loaded sock to Big Bubba. Big Bubba nails Tenta with the loaded sock, which is full of nickels. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jimmy Hart and Big Bubba, and Jimmy Hart says that he will be getting back at those who turn on The Dungeon of Doom as Big Bubba brags about beating John Tenta up.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews the recently reinstated "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Savage says he plans to take his time and be calculated with Flair, who he says is distracted with all the women at ringside. He says he's not all there, but he's staying in WCW forever for there is no man that can put him down. As for the psychiatric help, everything's going well.
As the second hour begins, "Macho Man' Randy Savage heads to commentary and forces Bobby "The Brain" Heenan to back up to the ring briefly before he can join in on commentary.
Before the net match, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage that every man, at some point in life, experience the agony and pain of defeat, and that in Savage's case, he is experiencing agony, defeat and divorce. Savage simply tells Ric Flair he's going to kick his ass. Savage gets some shots in before the bell can ring or before Flair can remove his robe.
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage after Savage knees Flair behind and knocking him into the ref, getting a second top rope elbow drop in despite Debra McMichael, Woman and Elizabeth throwing themselves in front of Flair, and fights off both "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson only to get hit twice with a briefcase by Steve "Mongo" McMichael.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Taskmaster, Jimmy Hart and The Giant. Jimmy Hart tells Taskmaster that he could not trust anybody in the Four Horsemen after getting rid of Flyin' Brian. Taskmaster says that wars has been declared all over WCW, and that he's been in violent fights his whole life. But last night, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson made the deal with "The Crippler" Chris Benoit instead of him, and he tells Anderson he has a strange mentality and a fine line between pain and pleasure in his head. The Giant says the problems started when The Four Horsemen called themselves the elite, yet they're incapable of taking the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from him. He declares himself the best to ever come out of The Dungeon of Doom, and anybody in the Dungeon is better than any Horseman can ever dream to be. He dares The Four Horsemen to step in the ring with him, as they will all fall down in the end.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is about to interview Sting and Lex Luger when The Road Warriors (Animal and Hawk) show up. Animal and Hawk have nothing against Sting, but they know where Lex Luger stands and wants to know where Sting's head is at. Lex Luger says he and Sting will take them on anytime, anywhere for the tag team titles. Animal also says that Lex Luger isn't even from Chicago (where he is now billed from), and that the closest he's been to downtown Chicago is the laundromat as he has no idea of what it's like to scratch and claw for everything. Sting insists Luger is from the white-collar section Chicago at the insistence of Luger, and Luger he and Sting aren't scared of them because they're the tag team champs. Hawk says Luger reminds him of a washing machine, as he agitates him and Animal, and if he and Animal have to go to the Atlanta Zoo and knock out Willie B the gorilla, so be it. If Luger wants to get in a Chicago Street Fight with him and Animal for the tag team titles, that's fine with them. Luger accepts that challenge. Sting isn't exactly happy with Luger after this, as Luger has no idea what he's getting into as he doesn't know what a Chicago Street Fight is.
Lex Luger beats The Renegade with the Torture Rack after interference from Jimmy Hart. Sting confronts Lex Luger over aligning himself with Jimmy Hart after the match, and Lex Luger tires to deny everyrything, but Sting doesn't buy it.
The Road Warriors (Animal and Hawk) beat Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) when the ref is too busy with a downed Stevie Ray and Animal takes advantage of the situation. During the match, it is announced tat as per the WCW Executive Committee, the winner of this match will be #1 contenders for the WCW World Tag Team Championships and take on Sting and Lex Luger for the titles at Uncensored.
Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and The Booty Man beat "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and The Taskmaster. After the match, Miss Elizabeth handcuffs Hulk Hogan so he can't get out of the corner while Flair whips Hogan in the back with a belt.

Ric Flair says "be my guest" and tells him to start putting the party together.

Sting shows up, but Ric Flair goes after Sting before he can do anything. Sting focuses on Flair while Savage fights Luger and tosses him out as Flair retreats. Sting and Savage finally notice each other and brawl, and the referee has to do his best to keep them from fighting one another.

Sting tells Savage he's paranoid, and says he's jealous because he wants to be WCW World Heavyweight Championship. At Halloween Havoc, Luger faces Meng and Savage faces Kamala. If both Luger and Savage win their respective matches, then both of them should go at it. Luger says Sting is trying to put words in his mouth, causing Sting to question Luger's intentions and tell him he's tired of babysitting him. This causes Luger to tell Savage he'll see him in the ring.
A young man with long, brown hair shows up in a limo and heads to the arena. His name: Chris Benoit.
Disco Inferno dances at the entrance ramp despite not being scheduled for tonight. He is interrupted by Big Bubba's entrance, but keeps dancing while carrying a boombox that plays his entrance theme. He is interrupted again by Road Warrior Hawk's entrance, but Disco Inferno decides it's a good idea to keep dancing. Road Warrior Hawk tries to intimidate him, but Disco Inferno steals a hat off of a kid's head and places it over one of the shoulder spikes of one of Hawk's shoulder pads. Hawk doesn't notice it until he makes it to the ring apron, and Hawk looks back at the entrance ramp to see Disco Inferno pointing and yelling at him. Shortly after the match begins, Disco Inferno gets on the ring apron and dances, and Hawk gets his hands on him, ripping his dress shirt off and beating him up outside of the ring. This causes Big Bubba to beat Road Warrior Hawk by count-out, much to Hawk's chagrin.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hulk Hogan in the ring. Hulk Hogan shows up without his trademark mustache, and is now wearing all black - tanktop, pants, neck brace, sunglasses, belt, boots and bandanna. The only thing that happens to be its original color is his hair. Jimmy Hart is also wearing all black, and Hulk says he's in all black because the games are over and that it's time to take care of family business and beat The Giant and The Taskmaster at their own game. He calls out The Giant, saying that if he has the guts to come out here, he'll rip the neck brace off and face him. "Mean" Gene tells Hulk that a restraining order has been issued keeping The Taskmaster and The Giant out of the building, but Hulk says the restraining order won't stop The Giant. Hulk says he's in WCW to make Hulkamania grow, and now that the little Hulkamaniacs are redwoods, The Taskmaster wants to cut down the entire forest. He says if The Giant isn't man enough to face him at Halloween Havoc, then they might as well paint graffiti on the Washington Monument. As Hogan continues to speak, the Dungeon of Doom monster truck shows up outside of the arena with the local police trying to stop The Taskmaster, The Giant and The Zodiac. Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 4, 1995
Steve "Mongo" McMichael makes his commentary and World Championship Wrestling debut tonight.
Flyin' Brian beats Jushin "Thunder" Liger. Brian raises Liger's arm after the match.
Sting tells Ric Flair that there is nobody who can walk down the aisle or lock in the Scorpion Deathlock like him.
Earlier today, Eric Bischoff interviews Hulk Hogan in front of Pastamania. Hulk's eaten so many Hulkaroos and Hulk-U's, and he's putting the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on the line with Pastamania running through his veins. He plans to give Big Bubba Rodgers some of his Hulkaroos before he body slams him again.
Before the next match, Lex Luger makes an unexpected, jarring appearance on WCW programming just eight days after SummerSlam and stares at Sting and Ric Flair from the entrance ramp. Ric Flair and Sting can't believe it.
Sting vs. Ric Flair for the WCW United States Championship ends when Arn Anderson gets in the ring. During the match, Arn Anderson shows up and watches the match from ringside. During Flair's Figure Four Leg Lock, however, Arn Anderson jumps in and beats Ric Flair up, forcing Flair to retreat. Scott "Flash" Norton then shows up, harassing the commentary team and wanting an opponent. "Macho Man" Randy Savage turns him around and challenges him to a match right now. Officials have to keep Flash out of the ring.
We get a look at Sabu, who is coming to WCW soon.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund congratulates Mike Hill of Cullman, Alabama the winner of the WCW Harley-Davidson Sweepstakes. He is the proud owner of a new 1995 Harley-Davidson Softail.
On WCW Saturday Night: Johnny B. Badd takes on "Dirty" Dick Slater! Sting and "Macho Man" Randy Savage takes on The Blue Bloods ("Lord" Steven Regal and "Squire" David Taylor)! Updates about Fall Brawl!
We hear from Michael Wallstreet, who calls the new generation "The Few Generation." He's in WCW for the money and the power. He also makes a reference to the I.R.S. (a reference to his Irwin R. Schyster gimmick from WWF) and says that when you go down the road in WCW, you'll see he's a real player.
It is announced that Scott "Flash" Norton vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage is official for next week.
Hulk Hogan retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Big Bubba. After the match, however, The Dungeon of Doom (The Taskmaster, Kamala, The Zodiac, The Shark, Meng) shows up, but Lex Luger rushes into the ring and helps out Hogan. Hogan and Luger run into each other and almost come to blows, and at this point the Dungeon of Doom is gone. Sting shows up and has to hold Luger back, while Macho Man shows up to hold Hulk back. Both men are still able to argue with each other, however.
Fall Brawl is September 17th, supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interview both Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan. Lex Luger says he's here for one reason and one reason only: the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He's been where Hogan's been and he's beaten the same people that Hogan has beaten, and now he's here to take on the big boys. He'll wait as long as it takes to get a title shot. Hogan tells him that he doesn't have to prove himself to him and accepts his challenge for the title for next week. Both men then get in a shoving match and have to be held back.
Next week: Sabu! Michael Wallstreet!
Steve "Mongo" McMichael is carrying a small dog in a devil costume at the end of the show.
