Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for July 15, 1996

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Fire and Ice (Scott "Flash" Norton and Ice Train) after Ice Train accidentally hits the Ice Splash on Norton while he holds Rick Steiner down. During the match, Theodore Long shows up and watches the match from the entryway. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Big Bubba, Jimmy Hart and The Taskmaster after the match. The Taskmaster says that everyone is watching their own back, and that he and Jimmy lived to see the end of Hulkamania but did not expect Hulk Hogan to do what he did and try to take WCW over. Jimmy Hart says that they will do whatever it takes to get rid of the Four Horsemen once and for all. As Jimmy Hart speaks, Fire and Ice are arguing with one another as they head to the back and The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) show up. Big Bubba tells Sting to worry about him and not Luger or Hogan, as Sting has a concussion and he plans to put him to sleep permanently. The Taskmaster then focus on "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, saying that Benoit has gotten too personal with him now after what happened at Bash at the Beach.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Fire and Ice (Scott "Flash" Norton and Ice Train), and Norton and Ice Train argue until Theodore Long shows up and says that they make a great tag team and he does not want to see them break up. Norton pushes Theodore Long to the ground, telling him to stay out of their business as it started with them and it will end with them. Ice Train tells Norton it will end a lot sooner than he thinks.

Jimmy Hart talks to Dean Malenko as Malenko arrives for the next match. We then hear Malenko say "It's a good day for Dean Malenko and a bad day for the Four Horsemen. Chris Benoit...pay attention."

Dean Malenko beats Billy Kidman with the Texas Cloverleaf.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kevin Greene. He finds it outrageous how Hulk Hogan has stabbed everyone in the back, but the real reason he's here is for Steve "Mongo" McMichael, and he tells Mongo he doesn't want to wait any longer and he wants revenge.

In the August issue of WCW Magazine: The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) tell all! Revealing secrets about The Giant! Collectible photos from Slamboree and The Great American Bash!

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Rough and Ready (Mike Enos and Dick Slater) after Col. Robert Parker gets on the apron to distract the ref and Sister Sherri kisses Dick Slater. Col. Robert Parker leaves with Sherri and Harlem Heat after the match.

We see a video package of Rey Mysterio Jr.

Kevin Greene wants Steve "Mongo" McMichael and he wants him now before NFL training camp starts, but at the rate this is going, he may not get Mongo until February.

Madusa beats Malia Osaka.

Pyro signifies the beginning of the second hour.

The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) cover the metal WCW letters atop Disney-MGM Studios with white sheets, each one with "n," "W," and "o" spray painted on each one.

Meng beats "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson after Jimmy Hart distracts teh ref and The Barbarian - who shows up during the match - hits Anderson from behind from the apron.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Steve "Mongo" McMichael (who shows up with Pepe the chihuahua) and Debra McMichael. Mongo, upon finding out that Kevin Greene has left the arena, implies that Kevin Greene is a coward and tells him to come to the arena and fight. Debra McMichael calls the Carolina Panthers "a farm team for B-players" and says that Mongo lasted 15 years in the NFL because he didn't let "small guys" like Kevin Greene push him around. After going on about Mongo's NFL records and asking where Greene's records are, she tells Kevin Greene to head back to the Panthers "where all the small farm boys are."

Eddie Guerrero beats "The Crippler" Chris Benoit after Dean Malenko rushes in and slams Benoit head first into the corner post.

The sheets with "nWo" on them are removed from the metal WCW letters atop Disney-MGM Studios after the break.

Haing disappeared before "The Crippler" Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero, The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) return to Disney-MGM Studios in a limousine.

The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) show up when the ref is distracted with Jimmy Hart trying to toss a foreign object to Lex Luger in his match against Big Bubba. Hall and Nash attack Luger - back from a concussion and a nearly detached retina - and Hulk Hogan joins in not longer after, wearing all black in his first appearance since Bash at the Beach. Luger and Big Bubba are laid out by The Outsiders, and while Luger is rolled out of the ring, Hogan shakes Big Bubba's hand before Hall and Nash turn on Bubba before they too toss him out of the ring. "Mean" Gene Okerlund shows up and interviews Hogan and The Outsiders, and Hogan says he wishes he had done this two years ago, as The New World Order is taking over professional wrestling, as he considers himself bigger than the sport itself and The Outsiders will rule it with him. He also doesn't care if the fans are disgusted with him, telling them to stick it again. As for as people like Sting go, Hogan says Sting was a skinny little bodybuilder when he shook his hand ten years ago, and he also says he was sick and tired of "Macho Man" Randy Savage's crying, blaming Hogan for his divorce from Miss Elizabeth. People toss trash into the ring as Hogan says he made professional wrestling and that he will always be bigger than the sport, and Hogan says the New World Order will rule the wrestling world. He says Hall and Nash who will set the trend for the 1990s and send professional wrestling to its destiny, but says that Hall and Nash are just the foundation, and Hogan lays down the question of whether or not other potential members will be other outsiders or people who have been loyal to WCW and to Hogan himself, as wherever he goes, professional wrestling goes. He then says he's done with the kids for not wanting to go down the same path as him anymore. He says he won't deal with Macho Man or Sting anymore, as he's headed to the top of the ladder and he's going to dismantle the Ted Turner organization all in one night, beat The Giant, turn the WCW World Heavyweight Championship into the nWo World Heavyweight Championship and reign supreme from that day forward. He says if Ted Turner has any boys in the back with any guts at all, he can send them in, as they'll beat up everyone in WCW right now. The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner), The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson show up and surround the ring.
