Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 8, 1996

WWF President Gorilla Monsoon announces with great reluctance the indefinite suspension of The Ultimate Warrior, a direct result of his failure to appear as advertised last weekend in Indianapolis, Detroit and Pittsburgh. This suspension will be immediately lifted as soon as The Warrior posts an appearance bond to ensure WWF fans that he will appear where advertised. He is here tonight, as promised, and will wrestle Owen Hart. WWF is hopeful he will post the bond and return to action in the WWF. Despite his popularity, no one wrestler is above answering to the WWF fans. (This suspension proves indefinite, however, as in reality The Ultimate Warrior was fired for reportedly no-showing several house shows due to the death of his father. Despite Vince McMahon hoping on the air that this is not the last time we see Warrior, Warrior would not appear in the ring again until the Raw show after WrestleMania 30, almost 18 years later, which just so happened to be the night before he passed away.)

The Ultimate Warrior beats Owen Hart by disqualification after The British Bulldog attempts to interfere and fails. After the match, Vader gets in the ring, and The Ultimate Warrior falls victim to the numbers game. Officials have to stop Camp Cornette from attacking Warrior further, but Owen Hart nails Warrior with his cast and Vader scares all the officials away with Jim Cornette's tennis racket before Cornette takes the racket and whacks Warrior with it prior to a Vader Bomb. During the match, Vince McMahon interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Ahmed Johnson. When asked who their partner will be against Camp Cornette (Vader, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog) at In Your House: International Incident, Shawn says they have secured their third man and that he will be here shortly. Ahmed says their third man has to be able to hold his own, and that we will learn his identity in a few minutes.

After the commercial break, we see officials carrying The Ultimate Warrior to the back. We then segue back to "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Ahmed Johnson. Shawn says he's had his differences with him like he's had his differences with a lot of other people, but he'll be here shortly. Ahmed says he won't be walked over like The Ultimate Warrior.

Before the next match, Brian Pillman, ever the loose cannon, threatens to attack Savio Vega with one of his crutches.

The WWF Attitude Adjustment tour heads to Albany, New York; Worcester, Massachusetts; Portland, Maine; Bangor, Maine; and Vancouver, British Columbia!

Savio Vega beats Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw. During the match, Vince McMahon interviews Mr. Perfect via telephone, but they lose him during the break as he is calling from a cellular phone. After the match, Savio Vega catches Uncle Zebekiah with his branding iron but is attacked from behind by Bradshaw before being hit with a cowbell. Uncle Zebekiah then brands Vega.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels says his and Ahmed Johnson's third man will be here momentarily. Next week, Shawn and Ahmed put their respective titles on the line against Billy Gunn and Bart Gunn, respectively. Shawn says Billy will "get a rompin' and a stompin'," while Ahmed says that "Filly and Fart are very good" while telling Sunny to stay in the hood.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Ahmed Johnson, The Undertaker, Paul Bearer and Sunny welcomed the fans at Continental Airlines Arena at The Meadowlands, New Jersey this past Friday. Hunter Hearst Helmsley and The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) can be seen signing autographs. WWF also welcomed thefans outside of the New Haven Coliseum at New Haven, Connecticut this past Saturday.

Jim Cornette guests on commentary for the next match.

Vader and The British Bulldog beat The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn).

On Option 6 of the WWF Superstar Line: Speculation on the alleged love triangle between Goldust, Marlena and Sable...but where does Mankind fit in?

Jim Cornette isn't concerned about who "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels' and Ahmed Johnson's new partner is, saying nobody would step in to replace The Ultimate Warrior after what his men did to him. Unfortunately for Cornette, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Ahmed Johnson reveal that their partner is none other than Sycho Sid, who hasn't been seen in months. Sid says he can hear Cornette and his men scream for help only to find there is no one there. Cornette is furious upon learning and threatens to call Clarence Mason to get this dealt with.
