Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for January 8, 2020

Memphis Wrestling announcer Dave Brown guests on commentary for the next match.

"Hangman" Adam Page and Kenny Omega beat Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) despite some slight miscommunication between Page and Omega. It is then shown on the video screen that backstage, referees are pulling PAC off Michael Nakazawa as he applies the Brutalizer to him. He says that Kenny Ometa is to blame, and demands his rematch or else this will continue to happen. Omega runs to the back.

Brandi Rhodes guests on commentary for the next match.

Riho retains the AEW Women's World Championship against Kris Statlander. During the match, Melanie Cruise and Awesome Kong show up to get a closer look at the match. Suddenly, Melanie attacks Riho, then Statlander hits tope suicidas on both Melanie and Kong after Brandi Rhodes leaves commentary to confront Statlander. When that happens, Statlander dares Brandi to hit her, then a bald man comes out from underneath the ring. This man is Japanese deathmatch wrestler Luther, who is soon after hit with a top rope cross body by Riho. Riho retains the title after Awesome Kong trips Statlander as Statlander has Riho up for a piledriver. After the match, Awesome Kong attacks Statlander, and Riho tries to stop her only to be blindsided by Melanie Cruise. Suddenly, Hikaru Shida, who has been watching the match from the front row, jumps the guardrail to make the save while Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. - who has been sitting next to Shida - declines to do so. Big Swole gets in the ring as Brandi Rhodes' Nightmare Collective heads to the back.

We see a video package for "Superbad" Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.

Zack Myers of Shinedown is seen in the front row.

Sammy Guevara beats Christopher Daniels. During the match, Pentagon Jr. shows up and distracts Daniels, telling him to show him he can do the Arabian Moonsault. This allows Guevara to win the match. After the match, The Dark Order (Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) shows up. Evil Uno says that Daniels is a popular man with his fingerprints all over the industry today, and had he not met him 15 years ago, he would not be in the business today. He then says that the fans do not think very highly of him or believe in him anymore. Evil Uno then tells Daniels that he can help him and make him the man he once was, then offers him a mask. Daniels throws the mask at The Dark Order, who immediately overpower him. Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) run in to make the save for Daniels, and when Stu Grayson gets in the ring, he does not fare any better as The Dark Order is soon overpowered.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes beat The Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix). After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Cody, and Arn Anderson says he does not know how MJF thinks he has the stroke to lay down preposterous stipulations, and if Cody wants the match, he and Cody will get back with him.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Lanny Poffo, who talks how he spent the day with Memphis wrestling legends and the fans. He says he is excited to be here.

MJF and Wardlow show up. MJF says that "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes is a coward who is afraid to face him, then gives him until the count of ten to face him like a man before calling him "a little bitch." Suddenly, Diamond Dallas Page shows up, then says that if someone told him 19 years ago that he would be back live on TNT with the hottest new wrestling promotion on the planet, he would have had to say they were smoking crack. All the while, MJF is own his phone. DDP then address what happened regarding MJF and Wardlow a few weeks ago, saying that everyone has been asking to come back for one more match. MJF tells DDP that he could not lace his boots even in his prime, and today, he could not even hold his jock. DDP takes offense to this, and MJF says that while he does not want to fight him, The Butcher and The Blade might. The Butcher, THe Blade and The Bunny show up and get in the ring, then MJF says that WCW is dead and that "dead" is the average age of DDP's fans. He then DDP is in a bit of a predicament, and he can either kiss his ring and get out of his company or everyone in the ring can send him straight to hospice before he has sex with one of his daughters. DDP finally has enough, and The Butcher and The Blade both get Diamond Cutters. The Bunny gets in the ring, and MJF grabs DDP and tosses him into Wardlow so he can kick him in the groin from behind. MJF then says that what will happen to DDP is on him. Suddenly, QT Marshall, "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and two referees run in before things can get worse.

Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt) beats Best Friends (Chuck Taylor, Trent, Orange Cassidy) after Jungle Boy rolls up Chuck Taylor.

In two weeks: Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt) vs. The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Santana, Ortiz)!

Next week: PAC vs. Darby Allin! Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida vs. The Nightmare Collective (Awesome Kong and Melanie Cruise)! MJF, The Butcher and The Blade vs. Diamond Dallas Page, "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall!

The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager) shows up. After the commercial break, Jon Moxley also arrives. Jericho says that Elvis Presley is a jackass and that he would kick his butt, then says The Beatles are way better, and says that January 8th will be an important day as it is the day that Moxley makes the decision of joining The Inner Circle. Jericho then says it will be a party that nobody else but The Inner Circle is invited to all night long after this, then asks Moxley if he will join The Inner Circle. Moxley says he has had a lot to think about this week, and that there is a lot more that went into the decision than anybody else would think. He says that the fans think they know what makes him tick and what motivates him, but they do not, and neither does Jericho, despite what he has offered him. He says that he wants nothing of what Jericho has offered, and says he cannot be bought. He says he came to AEW to dominate and run roughshod over professional wrestling, and for that, his answer is yes. Moxley then reveals he is wearing an Inner Circle T-shirt, then says there is no more a dominant force in AEW that he wants to stand with than The Inner Circle. He says that if you want to be great, you have to learn from the greats, and he believes in his heart that Jericho is the greatest of all time. Therefore, he will stand with Jericho, surround himself with greatness and dominate AEW for years to come before asking for the bottles of wine to be popped open. Jericho states that 2020 will be the year of The Inner Circle before The Inner Circle and Moxley spray wine everywhere while Moxley's music is played. He then states that this is the beginning of The Inner Circle taking over AEW and that all the fans can do is shut up and watch them do it. Moxley then asks for the keys to the Ford GT, which Jericho then hands over to him. When the fans chant that Moxley sold out, Moxley says he had a 2015 Dodge Ram that he wanted to run to the ground until he got the gift of Jericho, and Jericho talks about how The Inner Circle is money and how they won their recent matches in Japan, then they spray some more wine everywhere. After Guevara and Hager leave the ring, Moxley then tells Jericho that he was kidding and that he would never join The Inner Circle at all, for it is a stupid group and he has nothing he wants except the AEW World Championship. Moxley then hits Jericho with a Paradigm Shift, and when Guevara runs into the ring, he receives one, too. When Hager runs into the ring, Moxley retreats into the crowd with the keys to the Ford GT to end the show.
