Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 27, 2020

Drew McIntyre shows up to start tonight's show. McIntyre says he needs someone to pinch him, as he is convinced that he has been dreaming for the last 24 hours. Now that he has won the men's Royal Rumble, he is going on to WrestleMania. McIntyre immediately declares that he is challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, saying that he is not terrified like most men in the back. After Claymoring Lesnar over the top rope at the Rumble, he is convinced that he can beat Lesnar for the WWE Championship. He then says he feels like giving out some Claymores tonight, and issues an open challenge to anyone who wants to make a name for themselves. The challenge is answered by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and Anderson accepts the challenge before Gallows stops him and says he will fight McIntyre. McIntyre allows both of them to fight him, and asks for a ref, starting a match.

Drew McIntyre beats The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). After the match, McIntyre tosses Gallows and Anderson over the top rope, but is soon assaulted out of nowhere by Brock Lensar, who hits him with an F-5.

We look back at the TLC Match for the WWE World Tag Team Championships from WrestleMania 17 between Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley).

We see a video package for MVP.

Rey Mysterio beats MVP.

Aleister Black quickly beats Kenneth Johnson. After the match, Aleister Black says that last night, he got eliminated in the men's Royal Rumble, and says the only person to blame for his loss is himself. He then says that waiting for people to pick a fight with him was a mistake, then sits in the middle of the ring and states that as of tonight, he will bring the fight to everyone else.

Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy show up. Rollins says he came so close to winning the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row, but he was eliminated by Drew McIntyre. He tells McIntyre to enjoy his win while he can, for he will be stabbed in the back quickly. He takes solace in the fact that he eliminated Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe from the Royal Rumble, as well as the fact that he won the Raw tag team titles with Buddy Murphy last week. Rollins then addresses Joe and Owens' challenge for a Raw tag team title match, and says that since he is a benevolent leader, he has accepted the challenge. Rollins then calls Joe and Owens out for the match. When Joe and Owens show up, Owens tells Joe that Rollins still talks too much, then says that Rollins is not only delusional, but an absolute jackass. After Owens says he means it from the bottom of his heart that Rollins sucks, Rollins tells him and Joe to get in the ring. Joe then notices that Rollins is not eager to fight, and Owens wants to know where AOP (Akam and Rezar) is. Rollins then says he knew this would happen, then says he told AOP to stay in the back, and shows footage of them backstage to prove it. Joe isn't quite convinced, but Rollins says he is not a liar and is able to prove the footage of AOP is live by having Rezar say something to Owens. Owens then thanks Rollins for making it so he and Joe do not have to look for AOP anymore, then AOP is suddenly attacked by The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik). Referees and officials quickly move into place backstage as Joe and Owens approach the ring.

We look back on Edge's Money in the Bank cash-in at New Year's Revolution 2006.

Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe with a schoolkid pin from Murphy to Owens. During the commercial break, Samoa Joe is forced to leave the match by a medical team after getting hurt, leaving Owens to fight on his own.

We look back on Edge winning the 2010 Royal Rumble.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Becky Lynch. Becky says that her win against Asuka caused her to realize she is in a different league than the rest of the women's division, and now that she has collected her one last debt, she looks forward to future fights. She then says that if Charlotte Flair wants to challenge her, it will be the last time she does so, then points at the back of her jacket, which has a picture of a goat and the words "G.O.A.T." below it, before leaving.

Humberto Carrillo beats Andrade by disqualification after Zelina Vega breaks up a pinfall attempt. Andrade retains the WWE United States Championship. After the match, Humberto attacks Andrade, then pulls out one of the ringside floor mats and hits Andrade with a Hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete.

We look back on Edge's retirement speech from 2011.

Charlotte Flair shows up. She talks about her victory in the women's Royal Rumble match, then states that she is still thinking about which championship to challenge for when The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) show up. Asuka mockingly congratulates Charlotte Flair, and says she could have won if she were in the women's Royal Rumble match last night before The Kabuki Warriors immediately attack her.

Charlotte Flair beats Asuka by disqualification after Kairi Sane breaks up the Figure Eight with the In-Sane Elbow. After the match, Kairi Sane continues to attack Charlotte, but Charlotte fights back.

Backstage, Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) are met by Kelly Kelly as they announce the 24/7 Championship match that is coming up next.

Mojo Rawley shows up with Riddick Moss. Before the match, Rawley is accompanied by Riddick Moss, who is announced as Rawley's "offensive lineman." Mojo Rawley says that the 24/7 Championship is no longer the "Hide and Go Seek Coward's Championship" and that anybody can get it anywhere and any time. Rawley then states that he needs a good offensive lineman to watch his back and introduces Riddick Moss, then says that anybody who wants to take the 24/7 title from him is about to get blocked.

Mojo Rawley quickly retains the WWE 24/7 Championship against No Way Jose. After the match, one of the members of No Way Jose's conga line attacks Rawley and pins him to win the title to reveal themselves as R-Truth. When Riddick Moss gets in R-Truth's way, Rawley attacks R-Truth and wins back the WWE 24/7 Championship.

Liv Morgan beats Lana in a match that sees Rusev and Bobby Lashley banned from ringside.

Erick Rowan beats Brendan Vice.

Edge shows up. Edge thanks the fans for their raucous reaction to his return last night, then talks about how he was medically disqualified almost nine years ago from ever wrestling again. He says that he has made the "what if" of his return disappear, after he starting feeling better a few years ago, he asked himself "What if I came back home?" He got to work, got a second neck surgery, then got in the best shape of his life to return to the ring so he could end his career on his terms. Edge then talks about meeting familiar faces in the Rumble, saying he hopes to see them down the road. He admits that his return may not last long, but he hopes that the fans will join him on this ride, and while he may be older and grayer, he still has grit, and he will get back up if knocked down. Suddenly, Randy Orton shows up and embraces Edge, then says it is no secret that he has a self-destructive personality and that Edge was the guy who would pull him out of the hole when he dug a hole too deep to get out of. He welcomes Edge back, saying he is a brother and family to him, and says that the chemistry from last night that only they have was special. He then asks "What if Rated-RKO got back together one more time?" The crowd is overwhelmingly positive, then Orton attacks Edge, hitting an RKO and then striking him with a steel chair, going so far as to target his neck in the process. Orton then puts Edge's head through a chair, sits on the top turnbuckle, then steps off, removes the chair, and leaves. He then grabs another chair, puts Edge's head on top of it, then takes the first chair and smashes it into the back of Edge's head.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
