Grind City Rumble, Part One - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for January 8, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews Martin, Kross and Jay Smooth at the announce desk. Kross says the three of them will blow the roof off, and that Martin will style and profile like no other man and Smooth will show why he has earned his name. He says that they will be walking away with something big and impressing the fans, and that it will start today. Martin says his name is not Precious.



"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats Martin after catching a top rope cross body and hitting the Swole Slam.



Next week: Zay Washington!

We hear from Country Rock (Carter Matthews and Chris Hayes) and Big Jack. Carter Matthews says they have beaten The Elements of Wrestling ("Casanova" Colton Cage and Ryan Pyles) and Van Viciouss before and that they will do it again. Big Jack says he is always ready.



We hear from The Elements of Wrestling ("Casanova" Colton Cage and Ryan Pyles) and Van Viciouss. Ryan Pyles says the trios title rings would look good, and they did not put miles on their father's Aston Martin to be losers. Viciouss agrees that they would look good on them. Colton Cage tells Country Rock and Big Jack to "lace 'em up."



Country Rock (Carter Matthews and Chris Hayes) and Big Jack beat The Elements of Wrestling ("Casanova" Colton Cage and Ryan Pyles) and Van Viciouss in a six-man tag match.



We hear from "The Mad Esthetician" Amber Rodriguez, who shows off her new manicure and eyelashes and says none of this would have happened if it were not for Skyler. She says that she made Skyler perfect in her image, and tells her "Just wait."



Backstage, Derrick King gets a video message from Tiger Joe, who is in a neck brace and says that while he can sue Championship Wrestling From Memphis and take everything, his revenge is with Derrick King. Tiger Joe says he can find another tiger in Memphis, a grizzly or an exotic animal of his own that Derrick King cannot beat, and tells Derrick King that he is coming for him.




Dustin Starr interviews "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock and The Crowleys at the announce desk. Blaylock asks how the fans are allowed to bring straps and weapons, then says nobody here should be strapped as they are not animals and that the main event is a conspiracy against them. Blaylock also says that the match was not caused by him whipping Walker Hayes with a belt, and that someone will pay for this.





Ivan Warsaw and Walker Hayes beat The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) in a Strap Match in which fans also bring straps. After the match, Walker Hayes chases "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock to the back with a strap.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for December 4, 2021

Mike Anthony shows up to start the show, but Dustin Starr tells Mike Anthony he refuses to be bullied. Anthony takes the microphone when it is handed to him and says that he has said it like it is and that he warned everyone to give him what he wants or else, especially after doing what he said he would do regarding "The GunShow" Brett Michaels. He says that he would find a way in after security refused to let him in, and says that hell would come with him. Mike Anthony then tells "The GunShow" Brett Michaels to man up and face him next week in a street fight.



We hear from The Elements of Wrestling ("Casanova" Colton Cage and Ryan Piles) and Van Viciouss. Ryan Pyles says that last week was a disaster and that he was only trying to find help, but the past is the past, and this week, they will get things done against The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn).

"Casanova" Colton Cage and Van Viciouss beat The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) after "Pretty" Peter Avalon shows up and throws his martini at Uncle Mikey. Mikey ducks it, however, and the martini hits Briar Skimahorn instead. After the match, Van Viciouss and The Elements of Wrestling high-five Peter Avalon.



We hear from Diana Taylor, who says that "The Mad Esthetician" Amber Rodriguez has been in a thorn in her side since day one and that she will settle things with a DDT. We then hear from Amber Rodriguez, who says she cares about her enough to make her perfect in her image. She proposes to offer Diana Taylor her services, and when she is done, the Memphis Women's Championship is hers.

"The Mad Esthetician" Amber Rodriguez beats Diana Taylor.



We hear from The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington). Zay Washington says that no matter who they face, the outcome will always be the same. Aaron Roberts says that if Derrick King, DJ Brown and Danny B. Good want to challenge them, they can go next week.



The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) beat Jay Smooth and Martin after they place a red wreath around Martin's shoulders again, causing Martin to seemingly regain his memory before Lil Chris pushes Jay Smooth into Martin. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews The Posse. Lil Chris says that they can line them up and The Posse will knock them down, and Simon says they are coming for the tag team titles.



K-Toomer vs. Anthony Idol ends with Idol overpowering K-Toomer and sending K-Toomer into a retreat.



Backstage, Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes). "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock says that the fans and their kids are why we need discipline in this world, and says that he will whip his kids and give them discipline when they need it.

We hear from Heather Monroe, who says that while "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane was a champion, she was a distracted champion who was more focused on "boy issues" than the title. She says the people need someone who will bring diginity to the Memphis Women's title, and that is her.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats The Revenant of Walker Hayes after The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) get on the apron to motivate Hayes only for Justin Cole to hit the Swole Slam soon after Hayes turns around. After the match, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock hits The Revenant of Walker Hayes with the belt, and Hayes traps Blaylock in the corner. The Crowleys attack Walker Hayes and proceed to hold him down and unmask him. Suddenly, the lights go out and Ivan Warsaw attacks The Crowleys before choke slamming them both. The now-unmasked Walker Hayes and Ivan Warsaw then have a staredown to end the show.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for October 30, 2021

Gentleman Jervis guests on commentary for the next match.

The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris, dressed as Luigi and Mario, respectively) beats The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn, dressed as poop and toilet paper, respectively) in a Halloween Costume Lumberjack Match after Gentleman Jervis rocks a lumberjack in a Spider-Man costume to sleep, The Skimahorns wake "Spider-Man" up, and The Posse - now dressed up like Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick in capes - hit The Skimahorns in the back with bags full of candy.



We see some backstage footage from the Halloween Spooktacular.



We hear from Van Viciouss, who says that "Big Swole" will not slam him once before he wins his match and goes on a night on the town with the hottest woman in Memphis.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats Van Viciouss, slamming Van Viciouss four times for $100, bringing the grand donation total for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to $400.





Diana Taylor and Austin Lane guest on commentary for the next match.

"Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane and Sarah Wolfe beats Amber Rodriguez and Skyler after Amber leaves Skyler high and dry. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Austin Lane at the announce desk. Austin Lane says the fun and games are over when K-Toomer put his hands on Nikki, saying K-Toomer woke something up in him. He says he will prove why he is the best of the best and tells K-Toomer that he is going to hurt him.



We hear from Mike Anthony, who says that security stopping him from coming to work will not stop him, because he will come back and Hell will be coming with him. We then see Mike Anthony's mugshot. Afterwards, we hear from Brett Michaels, who says that if Mike Anthony wants to beat people up around the arena, then he will be there next week and he will not be hard to find.

We see some footage of the audience from The Halloween Spooktacular.



Country Rock (Carter Matthews and Chris Hayes) beat Colton Cage and Ryan Pyles, who are now calling themselves "The Elements of Wrestling."



Ivan Warsaw beats The Revenant of Walker Hayes in a Halloween Hardcore Match with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb into a pile of thumbtacks.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for August 21, 2021

The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) beat "Big Swole" Justin Cole and Mike Anthony after Mike Anthony inadvertently hits Justin Cole with a running drop kick to the face. After the match, Mike Anthony tells both Dustin Starr and Justin Cole they are not a team, and that he simply made a statement last time. He says that he is sick of this situation and sick of Justin Cole. After Justin Cole says he has always been paired together with Mike Anthony in matches since day one, Dustin Starr annoiunces that both men will face each other in a Memphis Heritage Championship #1 contender's match. When it comes time to shake hands, Justin tells Mike to pack a lunch, then Mike says he accepts the match before telling Justin to be ready to accept "the ass-whippin' of a lifetime."



Austin Lane heads to the announce table, and states that he wants to know what happened to Connor as King Cobra arrives. After King Cobra says that he wants to see what happened to Connor - as well as a commercial break - we see security camera footage. In the footage, we see that Connor has been laid out by K-Toomer backstage. Afterwards, Austin Lane is attacked from behind by K-Toomer. King Cobra gets between K-Toomer and Lane, and K-Toomer backs off. Austin Lane has to be helped to the back.



Dustin Steel interviews Alan Steel and Johnny Dotson at the announce table. Alan Steel says people say he sucks because they think him holding the Memphis Heritage Championship is unfair, then says there is nothing anybody can do about it and that the fans should be grateful to be in their presence. Lil Chris suddenly shows up in the ring, and Johnny Dotson says he will beat Lil Chris "to death." Steel and Dotson get in the ring and corner Lil Chris, but Steel is attacked from behind by Simon, and Lil Chris hits Dotson with his skateboard. Lil Chris tosses Dotson out of the ring, then Steel gets a skateboard to the gut before Dotson pulls Steel out of the ring. After Steel and Dotson say this is not over before heading to the back, Dustin Steel interviews Chris and Simon, and Simon says that it has been seven years since they put their skateboard on the shelf and stopped busting other people's skulls. He says that he and Simon have put smiles on people's faces, and they had done it with everybody one but one. Simon says he does not want to do this, but next week, he will bust Steel's head, break his face and head to Beale Street with the fans, Dustin Starr and the Memphis Heritage Championship.



The Revenant of Walker Hayes quickly beats Carter Matthews (who asked for this rematch) while The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) creep Dustin and Maria Starr out at the announce table.



Backstage, Van Viciouss meets with Miss Beronica and invites her to check him out in his match, which is up next.

"The INKredible" Darius Lee beats Van Viciouss. During the match, Miss Beronica shows up to watch the match. Near the end of the match, Van Viciouss goes up top, but takes too long while talking to Miss Beronica and gets knocked off by Darius Lee, who hits a monster frog splash for the win. After the match, Viciouss attacks Darius Lee, but Miss Beronica gets in the ring and tells him to stop. Aside from one last cheap stomp, Viciouss stops and follows Miss Beronica to the back.



Outside of the arena, The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) are attacked with Kendo stick from behind by The Allied Empire (Meklakov and Ken Dang), and Meklakov states that The Allied Empire will become the next tag team champions.



We hear from Jay Smooth and Kross, who still cannot believe the strength of Lance Archer and reveal that Precious got knocked out so hard by Archer that he forgot his own name. Kross then says he has some ideas on how to take advantage of this as he and Smooth laugh.



Dustin Starr interviews "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane at the announce table. She admits that Diana Taylor is her favorite wrestler and is happy to have her as an opponent as she knows she will fight fair, but says that she will retain the Memphis Women's Championship.



Diana Taylor vs. "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane for the Memphis Women's Championship ends when the women with the black hair from last week - now identified as Emily Syler - attacks both competitors. "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane retains the Memphis Women's Championship. Emily Syler lays out Diana Taylor, then flees after ducking a clothesline from Nikki Lane.



Dustin Starr interviews Joe Exotic - now known as just "Joe" - at the announce table. He says that he has combed the town and admits the people are pretty nice, then says he has not found another king and doesn't know if Derrick King is "worth a damn" and said he could have knocked him out last week if given the chance. After Dustin states that he wants no physicality this week, Derrick King arrives and says nobody puts a hand on him or tells him what to do, especially Joe, and if Joe wants to wrestle somebody, he can wrestle him. Joe says it was "just a slap," then says they can wrestle if they can find "one of those hotel rooms" before saying he had no idea people took wrestling seriously. King says it has been life for the last 25 years and asks Joe what he is thinking making a mockery of wrestling. After King pokes Joe in the chest, Joe shoves him, and King says they can wrestle right now. Joe says his leg hurts at first, then says he "is no Carole Baskin" and will accept Derrick King's challenge.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for August 7, 2021

Jay Smooth vs. Precious ends with Lance Archer suddenly showing up and decimating both men. Afterwards, Lance Archer corners Dustin Starr and says that everybody dies and that he is not done.



Austin Lane heads to the announce desk. It is mentioned that Connor's whereabouts are still unknown, and Austin Lane nobody, including himself, has not heard from him either. He then says there will be another Best Of The Best Challenge right now. The challenge is answered by Uncle Mikey, and The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) guest on commentary for the match.

Austin Lane beats Uncle Mikey in a Best of the Best Challenge Match despite the distractions from Briar Skimahorn.



Alan Steel and Johnny Dotson head to the announce table. Steel says he has slept well all this week after breaking simon's arm, and says that when you mess with "the living legends of Memphis wrestling," you become a memory. Dotson brags about breaking Lil Chris' arm and keeping him from doing things, but when he messes with some fans, he gets hit with a steel chair to the back by Lil' Chris, who then brawls with Steel in the ring despite a broken arm. Steel soon sends Lil' Chris broken arm-first into a ring post, but Lil' Chris fights back with a chair shot to Steel's back.



We hear from Cece Chanel, who says that Heather Monroe has been chasing championship gold for a long time and admits that Heather is good, and says that while Nikki Lane is a rising star, she is a tough opponent. She says that she has been working hard too, and that she will be coming for the Memphis Women's Championship, too.



We hear from Diana Taylor, who says that she cannot wait to hit Paris Kelly with a DDT tonight at Memphis Wrestling Saturday Night.



Before the next match, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock gets angry with "The GunShow" Brett Michael for injuring The Revenant of Walker Hayes' face. He then removes the cover from Walker Hayes' face to reveal that Hayes is wearing a mask before directing him to the ring.

The Revenant of Walker Hayes decimates Carter Matthews after The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) force Matthews into the ring when Matthews tries to get out of the match. Jacksyn is noted to have two different colored eyes.



"Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane retains the Memphis Women's Championship against Heather Monroe. During the match, Lil Bit shows up and hits Nikki Lane with Heather's fan, but Nikki kicks out.



Before the next match, Lance Archer says that he would come back and that he wants to see what Championship Wrestling From Memphis has. Uncle Mikey and The Skimahorns head to the ring and surround it. Lance Archer takes them all down one by one with a couple of clotheslines, and the three of them regroup before going for an all-out assault on Archer, which has virtually no effect. Archer goes for a choke slam on Mikey, and while Brad and Briar hit him with stereo chop blocks, even this has no effect. Mikey goes for a suplex only for Archer to chuck him from one corner to the other. Archer then choke slams Briar onto Brad, then hits Mikey with a nasty chop. He gets him up top, chops him again, then hits Mikey with the Blackout in the middle of the ring. Suddenly, "The GunShow" Brett Michaels gets in the ring with Archer. Archer goes for a choke slam, but Brett escapes it and hits the GunShow Lariat. Security and referees have to stop an angry Archer from getting back in the ring.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for June 12, 2021



The Hollywood Horror Show ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) shows up. Jimmie Blaylock says that their brains are more cracked than the I-40 bridge and that they are here to make a statement. Blaylock says that Walker Hayes did exactly want they wanted him to do, then The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) mess with Blaylock says that "The GunShow" Brett Michaels starred in a Hollywood horror masterpiece as they plan to kick some butt.



The Revenant of Walker Hayes quickly beats Maxx Stone. After the match, "Hollywood" Jimmie Blaylock says that The Hollywood Horror Show will be back and that more trouble will be on the way.



Norman Meklakov is at the announce table for a face-to-face confrontation with "Big Swole" Justin Cole, who soon shows up. Justin Cole says that everyone is tired of Meklakov's pro-Russian propaganda, but Meklakov says nobody cares and that the crowd is full of stupid Americans. Suddenly, Cole is attacked from behind by "The Emperor of Asia" Ken Dang.



We hear from Eric McMahon and Paris Kelly. Kelly says she is looking better, but Eric still has trouble seeing how many fingers he is holding up due to what Diana Taylor has done to her, saying this is professional wrestling and not a street fight. Eric McMahon says that Diana Taylor has one opportunity to make things right, and that if she doesn't, it will be bad news for her and money for him and Paris Kelly.



Diana Taylor beats Lil Bit. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Diana Taylor. She says that Paris Kelly have known each other for a long time, and that she has no idea what is going on with Paris Kelly and that she does not know Eric McMahon, whom she feels has a hand in what is going on.





The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) are at the announce table. Aaron Roberts says that when they are out here, there have to be some tag team titles involved, and asks who better to be the first champions than them. Zay Washington agrees.

The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) vs. The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) ends in a no-contest. During the match, The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) and Uncle Mikey show up and say they will be the tag team champions, then get in the ring and attack both teams. Danny B. Goode runs in to even the odds, and The Skimahorns and Uncle Mikey retreat.



Van Viciouss hands flowers to Maria Starr, then reads a poem where he states that Maria wants him and not Dustin Starr. Dustin says that people are now chanting his name and want to see him punch Viciouss in the face. Dustin Starr says he will go against his better judgement and take the high road, do his job and host the show. Van Viciouss leaves, saying "Good thing you got a good thought process." After this, Alan Steel and Johnny Dotson head to the announce table and rip up a fan's sign on the way there. Steel says that where one of them goes, so does the other, and when you deal with one, you deal with both of them. Steel also says he is a giving champion, and says that he will defend his title against "The GunShow" Brett Michaels today. Dustin Starr says that Brett Michaels is not here today, and Steel calls Brett Michaels a chicken. Steel then says that since Brett Michaels is not here, he might as well take a vacation for a few weeks, then says he is the one with the belt when told that the fans are telling him he sucks. Suddenly, Action Jackson shows up and challenges Alan Steel for the Memphis Heritage Championship since Brett Michaels is not here. Alan Steel asks him who he can beat, and Jackson says "I can beat you" to Dotson. Steel says that if Jackson can beat Dotson, he can get his title shot. Jackson then asks Dotson "What did the five fingers say to the face?" before slapping him and running into the ring. Both Jackson and Dotson briefly brawl before Steel pulls Dotson out of the ring.



Austin Lane heads to the announce table. He says that "The King of Pow" Chris Lexx gave him everything he got last week, and now he wants another challenger this week to prove he is the best of the best. Suddenly, The Hollywood Horror Show "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jacksyn Crowley, Otis Crowley, The Revenant of Walker Hayes) shows up. Suddenly, The Hollywood Horror Show shows up. They surround the ring, then Jacksyn Crowley attacks from behind.

Austin Lane beats Jacksyn Crowley by disqualification after The Revenant of Walker Hayes grabs him out of a tope suicida and slams him into the ring post. After the match, Jackson and Otis plant Austin Lane with a two-man DDT.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for March 13, 2021

In memory of Cindy Darlene Grey, August 10, 1963 - March 3, 2021.

Eric McMahon makes it into the building and guests on commentary for this week's show.



"Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt beats Walker Hayes after Hayes goes for an avalanche German suplex only for Rembrandt to be on top of him for a successful pinfall attempt.



Backstage, Terrance Ward interviews "Big Swole" Justin Cole, who says that he liked his chances in the Cobra Cup until Mike Anthony hit him with a cheap shot, and challenges him to a match.



We see a video package of the Cobra Cup Tournament matches so far.



Cassandra Golden beats Precious with a small package as Precious is showboating.



Backstage, Terrance Ward interviews Derrick King. King says every king needs a queen and that he has the perfect queen: Queen Katelynn, who shows up and declares herself the queen of Memphis. She says she is the top of the women's division, and that she will prove why you always bet on black.



The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) beat The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) with a Sunset Flip from Lil Chris to Briar Skimahorn.



We see footage of Jase Osei training with a punching bag as it is announced that he will be coming soon.



The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) vs. The Crowleys (Jacksyn and Otis Crowley) ends with Humongous showing up and laying out The Yung GOATs.



Backstage, Terrance Ward interviews "The GunShow" Brett Michaels, who says he has been in the gym twice a day every day and that he is ready to bring it home in the Cobra Cup Tournament.



Backstage, Terrance Ward interviews Norman Meklakov, who says it does not matter who faces him in the ring, as it is another puny American to be brought down by the Russian wrecking ball.



Eric McMahon is escorted from the announce table and the building by security, and is replaced by David Marquez on commentary for the main event.

We see Dustin Starr and King Cobra take a tour of the Mid-South Coliseum.



"The GunShow" Brett Michaels beats Norman Meklakov to win the Cobra Cup Tournament, and will be awared the Cobra Cup next week. King Cobra shows up at the end of the show.
