Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 22, 2018

Roman Reigns shows up to start tonight's show. Roman feels like he owes everyone an apology, as for months - maybe even a year - he said we would be a consistent workhorse and fighting champion, but is has all been lies. He says the reality is that is real name is Joe and he has been living with leukemia for 11 years. Unfortunately, it has come back, and because it is back, he cannot be the fighting champion he is promising to be and he must relinquish the WWE Universal Championship. While he will accept the fans' prayers, he is not looking for sympathy, as he has had this since he was 22 years old and was quickly able to put it in remission. But during that time, he had no money or job, football was done with him, and he had a kid on the way. He calls WWE "the team that gave [him] the chance," and when he made it on the main roster, he was put in front of the fans, and the fans have made his dreams come true. He thanks the wrestling fans, both fans and haters, for reacting to him, and thanks them all. The crowd chants "Thank you, Roman!", then Roman says life is not always fair and it throws a curveball at times. He says he needs to head home and focus on his health, but he makes it clear this is not a retirement speech. He also says that when is done "whipping leukemia's ass," it won't be about winning matches and titles, it will be about showing the world that when life throws curveball at him, he stands in the batter's box and swings for the fences every single time. He says he will be back "very, very soon," then thanks the fans one more time before leaving. He then lays the WWE Universal Championship in the middle of the ring as the crowd chants "Thank you, Roman!" one more time. As Roman leaves, he is joined by Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, and all three men share a hug on the stage. (This promo explains why Roman Reigns has missed this weekend's house shows.)

Finn Balor beats Bobby Lashley with a surprise schoolboy pin.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre talk backstage. Dolph thanks Drew for having his back, and Drew says he saw the writing on the wall when it came to Braun Strowman. Dolph says they have a tag team title match, and that he has a chance to prove he is the best in the world at Crown Jewel. Drew says Strowman needed them more than they needed him, and after tonight, they won't have to worry about him. Drew leaves, then Dolph asks him where he is going. Drew comes back and tells him "Monster hunting."

Ruby Riott beats Sasha Banks after Sasha Banks beats up Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan for trying to interfere in the match.

We hear from Nia Jax, who says that Evolution will prove that women can do anything. She plans to get another opportunity at the Raw Women's Championship at the battle royal on Sunday, and she refuses to squander it.

D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) show up. Triple H says there have been a lot of big words being thrown around, such as "fear" of Triple H taking off the corporate suit and Shawn stepping out of retirement, but says it will take a lot more than stepping into a boiler room and making idle threats to instill fear. Shawn says neither of them are running, and says another word being thrown around is "nostalgia," which he calls "a real blind way of saying 'old.'" Triple H says that nostalgia-wise, Halloween is the #1 movie again after 40 years, and that they were able to pack an arena in Melbourne, Australia. He says that "old" is probably "a polite way of saying 'we're better.'" Triple H then says that he and Shawn have been "running the X" for 22 years, and that the X proved they were better than everybody else. He says that X may be in the past, but there is another X that speaks to the future, and Shawn says they're running that, too. That leads to an "NXT" chant from the crowd. Triple H tells Kane and The Undertaker that when they bring the X to Crown Jewel, they are coming to kick their ass. Before he and Shawn can finish speaking, however, the lights flicker in and out before The Undertaker shows up. The TitanTron shows a cemetery, then Kane and The Undertaker are seen. They says that pride goes before arrogance, and arrogance before a fall. The Undertaker says DX's arrogance will be the vessel of their downfall. They tell DX to bring everything they've got, as they will do the same. Kane tells Triple H and Shawn that they should have stayed away, and The Undertaker says they cannot outrun the reaper of survive them. We then see tombstones made for Triple H and Shawn, and The Undertaker tells them that their first match against them will be their last match against anybody once they own their black and blistered souls for all eternity. After Kane says that Triple H and Shawn will be plunged into Hell, The Undertaker says they will never rest in peace. We then see The Undertaker and Kane shovel dirt into an open grave.

It is announced that as per Acting General Manager Baron Corbin and Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar will clash for the vacant WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel.

We hear from Dana Brooke, who says that she has been overlooked for too long, and after Evolution, everyone will see who she is and what she can do.

Paul Heyman is in the ring. Heyman says his thoughts and prayers are with Roman Reigns, and that it is humbling among the locker room tonight and to have been in the presence of such courage and greatness. He says that when he goes home tonight to explain this to his kids, he wants them to know what was witnessed was not only courage, but sacrifice, as Roman sacrificed his career ambitions because the title deserves the best it has to offer. He says that the fans have the right to point and say someone is the best that the business has to offer, and until five minutes after the show started, we had the right to do just that. He then says that Roman would want the show to go on, and at Crown Jewel, Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar will battle to say they are the one worthy of being the champion before saying it is not Strowman. He says only one person is worthy of being champion, and that person is Brock Lesnar. Heyman says Strowman can say whatever he wants and bill himself as a monster, but Lesnar is a beast and Strowman is not in Lesnar's league, category or stratosphere. Strowman shows up, and says the only words that should be coming out of Heyman's mouth is about him beating Lesnar's ass at Crown Jewel, taking back the Universal title and bringing it every week. He also says that when he wins, Roman Reigns - whom he has had differences with for years - will be first in line for a title opportunity. After he says that Lesnar will get these hands, he is suddenly Claymored out of nowhere by Drew McIntyre.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler gives kudos to Drew McIntyre on his attack on Braun Strowman, then Charly Caruso interviews them. Drew says half the people aren't willing to do what it takes to get the job done. He says that he is willing to do that, and says that Braun Strowman received a swift kick of reality and will soon realize that he needed them. He says they can now focus on what matters: defending the Raw tag team championships.

Elias is in the ring. He plays on his guitar, introduces himself, tells the fans they are blessed, and asks who wants to walk with him. He says the fans are almost there, but they are not ready yet. He then almost proceeds to play and sing a song about Apollo Crews interrupting him when Apollo suddenly interrupts him to start the next match.

Elias beats Apollo Crews.

We hear from Kurt Angle, who says that he has beaten the best in his career, which he admits has been in the rear view mirror as of late. Now, he has the chance that never though he had to prove he is the best in the world in the WWE World Cup. He says that with the opponents he may be facing, this may be his toughest challenge yet. Angle admits he may not be the same man he once was, but he the opportunity to be the best he possibly can be.

John Cena's new children book, Elbow Book, is the #1 children's book on the New York Times' best-seller list.

Elias is in the ring again. He is interrupted by Acting General Manager Baron Corbin, who says that he needs to keep the show rolling and that Elias' performance cannot be accommodated. Baron Corbin tells Elias that what he has to say is more important than his performance, and that if Commissioner Stephanie McMahon didn't like Elias, she would have fired him. He then tells Elias to get off the stage. Elias stays put, then says that he was in his own world while Corbin was sucking the air out of the room. He tells Corbin to shut up, then proceeds to make fun of him. Corbin demands Elias' mic be cut, and tells Elias that he works for him and to get off the stage. Elias gets off his stool, then proceeds to leave. As Corbin is about to speak, Elias shows back up and smashes his guitar into Corbin's back.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Nikki Bella vs. "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey for the WWE Raw Women's Championship at Evolution.

Michael Cole is in the ring to moderate the contract signing for Nikki Bella vs. "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey for the WWE Raw Women's Championship at Evolution. Nikki Bella is introduced first, followed by "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. Nikki is accompanied by her sister Brie Bella as she enters the ring, then Brie pretends to be sparring coach for Nikki. When Ronda shows up alone, Brie and Nikki clear the ring. Nikki says Ronda is here to fight while she and Brie are here for a contract signing, and Ronda says she is here to ensure that Nikki signs the contract so that she can beat her up on Sunday. She promises not to lay a finger on her until Sunday and that her word is her bond. She also says that her mother would be ashamed if Brie and Nikki would actually hurt her right now. Brie and Nikki cautiously enter the ring, then makes references to things that Ronda promised her mom before saying her mom is already ashamed of her. Nikki then says that Ronda's mom will be ashamed of her after a diva beats her for the title. Nikki signs the contract, then slaps Ronda. Ronda laughs it off, signs the contract, then gives Nikki her word that she will end her Sunday.

Charly Caruso interviews Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins backstage. Ambrose says there are no words to describe the ride they and Roman Reigns have been for the past six years as well as the highs, lows and in-betweens. He says that when you don't know what to do or say, you just do what you always do, and that is why he and Seth plan to do: win. Seth says there are no words; only emotions. They are planning to win the Raw tag team titles for Roman tonight.

Ember Moon beats Tamina, Nia Jax and Dana Brooke in a Fatal 4-Way with an Eclipse on Tamina.

Titus O'Neil is on the stage with breast cancer survivors. He talks about WWE Evolution, and says that as exciting as Sunday will be, WWE is moving towards beating something unacceptable: breast cancer. Titus also talks about how his grandmother lost her battle against breast cancer in 1995 before mentioning the breast cancer survivors he is sharing the stage with. On stage with Titus are Claire DiCenzo, Lindsay McGloughlin, Susan Lane, Monique Costa, Patrice Shelton and Cheryl Cuddy, who are holding up honorary pink Women's Championships. (During this segment, it is mentioned on commentary that Titus Worldwide (Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews) that has officially split and that both men have gone their separate ways.)

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Trish Stratus and Lita. Trish Stratus says that cowardice did not get Alexa Bliss and Mickie James where they are now and that it is not what Evolution is about. As Trish and Lita talk about how they have made each other better competitors, Alicia Fox shows up and says Alexa and Mickie will pack them up and send them home. As Trish and Lita respond to Alicia, Mickie James attacks Trish and Lita from behind. Referees quickly move into place as Alicia and Mickie attack Trish and Lita. Mickie speaks into the microphone, Trish and Lita return to get the upper hand and tell them that was how it was done in the Attitude Era.

We look back on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's career, courtesy of Just For Men Control GX.

Road To WWE Evolution will be on USA Network immediately following Raw.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins) beat Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to become the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions! During the match, Braun Strowman shows up and brawls with Drew McIntyre into the crowd as Dolph Ziggler sends Seth Rollins into the ref, knocking him out. Seth manages to hit The Stomp, and Dean revives the referee to earn The Shield the win and the titles. After the match, however, Dean Ambrose hits Seth Rollins with Dirty Deeds from out of nowhere, and continues to assault Rollins on the outside until ripping the floors mats off and hitting Dirty Deeds again, this time on the exposed concrete. Afterwards, Dean leaves through the crowd.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 15, 2018

Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up to start tonight's show. Ziggler says the fans are looking at the greatest three-man group in WWE history, and the fans immediately boo all three of them. McIntyre says they did not need a catchy team name or tactical vests to do it, either. Strowman says they proved it last week, and they will prove it again against anyone, anywhere, anytime. We see footage from last week's main event, followed by a Dean Ambrose interview where Ambrose says he probably does not fit in with the rest of The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) anymore. McIntyre tells everyone "I told you so," and says his team did not just beat The Shield, they broke them. He then says that Dean is trying to figure out where he fits in, as only Rollins and Reigns have benefited from being in the group. He goes on to say that Dean has opened his eyes and that The Shield has been shattered, and Strowman says The Shield will not be around to watch Roman's back when he demolishes Roman to become WWE Universal Champion at Crown Jewel. Drew says he will beat Seth in the WWE World Cup qualifying match for the WWE World Cup and go on to prove that he is the absolute best in the world, but Ziggler reminds him of his qualifying match against Ambrose and that they may meet in the finals. McIntyre says that would be a shame, as even though Ziggler is great, he is no Drew McIntyre. Ziggler says they will cross that bridge when they get to it, then Strowman says that at Crown Jewel, Roman and Brock Lesnar will get these hands. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns show up, and Rollins tells them that The Shield are alive and well. He says he and Roman have heard what they have to say, and when he beats Ziggler tonight, he will prove he is the best in the world. Ziggler makes fun of Ambrose not being with Rollins and Roman, and says that the two of them do not care if Ambrose is here. Rollins says Ambrose runs on his own time and does what he wants when he wants, and that he always shows up. Roman tells Ziggler that he is worried about Ambrose when they should be worried about championship gold, then tells Strowman he is going to the back of the line after Crown Jewel. Rollins then says he has always liked Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, not just because of the cheesesteaks, but also because Philly is a fighting town, and says that he and McIntyre might as well have their qualifying match right now.

Seth Rollins beats Drew McIntyre by count-out to qualify for the WWE World Cup after Dean Ambrose suddenly shows up out of the crowd to ambush Dolph Ziggler - who has shown up in the middle of the match to try to interfere - from behind, allowing Rollins to hit The Stomp on McIntyre and get back in the ring in time.

Backstage, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns celebrate Rollins' win, but Dean Ambrose takes offense to their reaction to Ambrose saving them as well as being called "Lunatic." He then leaves, saying he has himself to take care of right now. Rollins and Roman are confused.

We see footage of what looks like a boiler room, then The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker and Kane) are seen. The Undertaker says Triple H and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels want to lecture them about respect, and Kane says respect died with their dishonesty and that D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) is built out of a bed of lies. The Undertaker says Shawn stayed out of the ring out of respect, but he and Kane said it was really out of fear that they would humiliate Shawn and make him helpless again, this time to the point of no return. The Undertaker then says that at Crown Jewel, all of Shawn's fears will come true, and Kane says that while Triple H may have won the battle at Super Show-Down, he started a war that will end at Crown Jewel. The Undertaker says that after that, Triple H will retreat back to the boardroom and Shawn back to retirement, then he and Kane say that Triple H and Shawn will rest in peace.

It is announced that there will be a battle royal at Evolution with the winner earning a future opportunity at their brand's Women's title. Asuka, Mandy Rose, Carmella, Lana, Sonya Deville, Naomi, and WWE alumnus Torrie Wilson are confirmed as participants in the match.

Ember Moon and Nia Jax beat Tamina (who has not been seen on WWE television in some time) and Dana Brooke. After the match, Tamina shoves Nia Jax, and Nia Jax tries to fight her only to get superkicked. Ember Moon and Tamina then toss Nia Jax over the top rope in a preview of the women's battle royal at Evolution, then Ember Moon almost tosses Tamina over the top rope. Dana Brooke tosses both women over the top rope at the same time.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey shows up. Ronda talks about The Bella Twins' (Brie and Nikki Bella) attack on her from last week, and wants an explanation, saying she is at least owed that. The Bella Twins then show up. Nikki says everyone paid to see them, not Ronda, and that they don't owe her an explanation. Brie tells her this is show business, now "show friends," and that Ronda was the first to disrespect them and disregard what they did for the business. She says they refused to sit on the sidelines for her, and Nikki says that when they returned, it made them cringe to see her at the forefront and Ronda did not deserve everything that she has gotten so far. Nikki says that she, Brie and other women made "diva" mean something that was strong and powerful, and that they put more girls and women in the crowd and the world want more women's wrestling. Nikki says she has done more in the ring than Ronda ever will, and that Ronda just walked into a movement that she and Brie started, saying that the title Ronda carries would not exist without them. Ronda says she tried her best to be respectful, and knew that she was in the Bellas' territory, even though the "Divas era" made her sick to her stomach and that the Bellas did what they could with what they had. She thought that the Bellas were accepting of her and that they could work towards a unified goal, but that was her mistake and she knows that they are "the embodiment of a stereotype": Do Nothing Bellas. She says that The Bella Twins do what they do for attention, and that the only thing that has impressed her is how far they have gotten with so little talent, as they have leeched off the names of their men and diluted their movesets. She says that instead of pioneers, they are historical relics ready to be eviscerated like smallpox. She wants to rip their arms off and beat them with them, and the referees won't be able to stop her from doing it at Evolution. Brie chalks Ronda's feelings and words up to jealousy, and says the word "Bella" has done more last week than Ronda has done her entire WWE career, as she and Nikki are the groundbreakers and have broken more barriers and knocked down more doors than Ronda ever has. Ronda says she has done the same in multiple companies prior to coming to WWE, and says the only door Nikki broke down was "the one to John Cena's bedroom, and he threw you out of that exact same door." Ronda then asks if they are going to come to the ring for the ass-whupping they deserve, or if she has to come down to the stage and give it to them. Brie and Nikki tease running to the ring, but stop and allow security to get in front of them before they do. Ronda meets with security, but she wipes out every single member of security while Brie and Nikki run away.

Backstage, Chad Gable and Bobby Roode chat with Kurt Angle, who is dressed like he has just showed up from vacation. Angle then meets with No Way Jose and dances with him before meeting Acting General Manager Baron Corbin. Corbin tells Angle he has prepared a handicap match for him against AOP (Akam and Rezar).

Dolph Ziggler beats Dean Ambrose with a superkick after Ambrose aggressively shrugs off Seth Rollins - who has shown up to stop an interference attempt by Drew McIntyre - following a top rope elbow drop to McIntyre to qualify for the WWE World Cup. After the match, Seth Rollins gets in the ring, wanting to know what is going on with Dean Ambrose. Ambrose pushes Rollins out of the way and heads to the back. Rollins follows him up the ramp, but the confrontation almost gets physical and Roman Reigns has to show up and keep both men separated. Suddenly, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up. Corbin says the last thing he wants is The Shield (Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns) dissolving on his watch, and gives them a chance to fix their problems and redeem themselves in a rematch against Ziggler, McIntyre and Braun Strowman from last week tonight.

Before the next match, it is announced that NXT UK will premiere on Wednesday at 3 PM Eastern Time (8 PM British Standard Time) on the WWE Network.

In the locker room, Dolph Ziggler tells Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman that they have The Shield where we want them. Drew asks Braun to destroy Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins and make Roman Reigns watch, but Braun says that if McIntyre or Ziggler screw up tonight, they will get these hands.

Finn Balor beats Jinder Mahal. Samir Singh returns to ringside for this match for the first time since being injured last year. After the match, Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley show up. Rush tells Finn Balor to take a good look, as he only wishes he could look like Lashley. He puts Lashley on a pedestal as Finn Balor and Bayley leave.

Bobby Lashley beats Tyler Breeze.

It is announced that Titus O'Neil is an MVP in this year's Ebony Power 100.

Trish Stratus and Lita show up. Lita says it is good to be back home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She talks about Evolution, but before she can say more, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James show up. Alexa says she feels like she and Lita are on the same wavelength, then proceeds to mock Lita. Mickie James then proceeds to make fun of Trish, Mickie then proceeds to point out that Trish and Lita have not been in a WWE ring in a long time, and that while they have been kicking back, she and Alexa has been kicking butt. Alexa says nostalgia is fleeting, and if Trish and Lita think they than compete with them, then Evolution will be a cakewalk. Mickie says that if they stand a chance unprepared, they are mistaken. Trish and Lita mock Alexa and Mickie for talking about practice, then Trish and Lita says they might be right in saying that they could use some practice, and dare Alexa and Mickie to come in the ring for some practice. Alexa says she and Mickie practice how they play, then tease coming down to the ring only to turn back halfway down the ramp.

Backstage, Bayley is met by The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan), who proceed to make fun of her.

AOP (Akam and Rezar) beat Kurt Angle (as El Conquistador)...almost. When AOP unmask El Conquistador, however, a random person is underneath the mask. Suddenly, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin - who has been watching this match from the stage - is attacked from behind by Kurt Angle, who hits him with an Angle Slam on the stage.

The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan) trash the door to Natalya's dressing room with ketchup and mustard before tearing the sign down.

Before the next match, Natalya tells Ruby Riott that she is not going to walk blindly into a three-on-one attack, and that she is bringing back-up in the form of Bayley and Sasha Banks, the latter of whom has not been seen in a month.

Natalya beats Ruby Riott by disqualification when Sarah Logan gets involved in the match. After the match, both sides brawl, and Bayley and Sasha make quick work of The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan) after they seemingly get the upper hand.

Elias gives a backstage worker a hard time for not finding his green guitar pick.

Elias is in the ring. He says his eyes are like a crystal ball, and that the future shows a universal truth that WWE stands for "Walk With Elias." He talks about how he went to lunch earlier today with Carson Wentz, who said that his injuries were hard, but that true pain is psychological, especially when it comes to caring about Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once again, the fans boo Elias in droves as he says that "Gritty is not a mascot; he is a spitting image of everyone in this city. He is a fat, ugly, googly-eyed slob." Elias proceeds to play guitar only to be interrupted by Apollo Crews. Apollo says he has come out to interrupt Elias, and Elias tells Apollo to pray he is on his good side, because his career is in his hands when he gets in the ring and he does not want to make a star out of him. Apollo admits he does not have Elias' musical talent and that he may not be funny, but none of that matters when he steps in the ring. Elias says he has heard Apollo has talented, but he has never seen it, much like how he has never seen the Flyers win the Stanley Cup. Apollo says that is like being taken seriously as a musician, then says he has stayed silent for too long after so many people have passed him by. He says he is sick of it, and Elias asks Apollo what he has ever done before attacking him. Apollo gets the upper hand on Elias, however, and lifts him over his head with a delayed military press slam. Elias is forced to retreat.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) beat Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre with a three-man powerbomb on Dolph Ziggler despite another argument between Ambrose and Rollins. After the match, Braun Strowman grabs Dolph Ziggler by the hair and hits him with a running powerslam. Drew McIntyre hits Braun Strowman with a Claymore again, this time on purpose, then leaves.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 8, 2018

WWE COO Triple H, dressed in a leather jacket and all black compared to his usual three-piece suit, shows up to start tonight's show, and is followed close behind by "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Triple H says that 25 years is a long time to climb a mountain, but the mountain is climbed because it is the most difficult of all. He says he and Shawn should be standing at the summit, but the avalanche that fell on them after Saturday night made them both question if that mountain was a lie. We then see footage from Triple H vs. The Undertaker at Super Show-Down as well as the aftermath. Afterwards, Triple H says that "respect" is a word that has lost its significance as of late, and that it takes a lot to earn his and Shawn's respect. Triple H says that respect, to him, is sticking to your word when everyone else tells you not to, fighting side by side with someone like a brother, and being taken under the wing of one you idolize and making the most of it. Shawn says respect is sometimes given to something someone used to represent, and that the flight back home was "a long time to think" about the last eight-and-a-half years that he had sat there and honored his word out of respect that never existed at all. Shawn then says he heard the three words he never thought he'd hear again, which Triple H states: "Are you ready?" Triple H then asks the same of The Undertaker and Kane come Crown Jewel, and Shawn says "D-Generation X is ready!" Shawn then announces that he says this with no respect at all: "If you ain't down with that, we got two words for you...suck it!"

Bobby Lashley beats Kevin Owens. During the match, Lio Rush coaches Lashley through a live microphone, and Rush eventually distracts Owens so that Lashley can trip Owens off the top rope before hitting a cutter for the win. After the match, Lio Rush sends Lashley back into the ring to attack Owens and smash both of his legs into the ring post multiple times, despite pleas from two referees not to.

It is announced that there will be an eight-man WWE World Cup with four men from Raw and four men from SmackDown Live. John Cena is confirmed as one of the eight participants. It is announced that Baron Corbin is setting up a global battle royal tonight, where the winner becomes the second man to enter the WWE World Cup.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Finn Balor and Bayley. Finn says Jinder Mahal and Alicia aren't even on the same planet, and Bayley says they're more worried about who wears the captain's hat. Suddenly, Lio Rush interrupts to brag about what Bobby Lashley, who is with him, did to Kevin Owens. Lashley also adds to the interruption with some bragging of his own. Rush says his words and Lashley's power together is "too sweet," then he and Lashley leave.

Elias is in the ring. Elias says that when the legends speak of WWE, they speak about him whether they want to admit it or not. He says that one man who knows this is John Cena, as Cena knows that WWE stands for "Walk With Elias." He says that the circumstances that led to how things ended at Super Show-Down were not his fault, then proceeds to perform a song about it. Elias sings about how he was distracted by Cena's hair and Australian accents, and how he was sent to Chicago, Illinois, which he makes fun of along with Australia as well as the Chicago Cubs losing the MLB playoffs. All of a sudden, "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey shows up for the next match.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) beat The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan) in a Super Show-Down rematch with an arm bar to Ruby Riott from Ronda Rousey after The Bella Twins keep Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan from breaking the hold. After the match, The Bella Twins suddenly blindside Ronda Rousey and proceed to attack her, and referees have to break up a brawl that ends in the Bella laying Ronda Rousey out. They then lay Ronda in the middle on the ring and place the WWE Raw Women's Championship on top of her.

Team B'N'B (Finn Balor and Bayley) beat Mahalicia (Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox).

In the locker room, Dolph Ziggler says that tonight, he, Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre will take down The Shield tonight. Drew says everyone knows what they need to do, but they are tired of Dolph calling the shot after getting pinned Saturday. Drew tells Dolph he should be more worried about pulling his own weight, and Strowman tells them to shut up and remember that they got together so he can win the Universal Championship. He tells them to put The Shield down for good and to stop making excuses.

Backstage, Heath Slater asks Acting General Manager Baron Corbin for a chance to take part in the Global Battle Royal, but Corbin tells him "You're not any good."

D-Generation X (Triple H and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels) vs. The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker and Kane) is made official for Crown Jewel.

Before the next match, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin goes on about Crown Jewel and the WWE World Cup, then says he wants to prove he belongs in the World Cup by winning the Global Battle Royal, which consists of random wrestlers dressed like foreigners. Corbin claims that he has created the best battle royal ever assembled, and asks if the crowd has seen so much international talent in one place. Corbin goes on to introduce everyone else in the match, including El Hombre Sin Nombre ("The Man With No Name"), The Chilean Seabass, and The Conquistador, who is wearing a golden full-body suit including a mask, before introducing himself. The match then starts.

The Conquistador wins the Global Battle Royal after taking a nap outside of the ring without eliminating himself, making him an instant part of the final two in the match. He manages to hit a few German suplexes followed by the Angle Slam, then clotheslines Corbin out of the ring to win the match and become the second man to enter the WWE World Cup. He then unmasks to reveal that he is Kurt Angle.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Kurt Angle, who reminds Caruso that he is still on his vacation as he leaves.

Ember Moon barely beats Nia Jax by count-out after sending Nia Jax into the LED board on the side of the ring. Nia raises Ember Moon's hand after the match.

Trish Stratus shows up. Trish Stratus talks about Evolution as well ash er opponent at the event, Alexa Bliss. She calls her "Moment of Bliss" a "Moment of B.S." and says she is here to enlighten her with a moment of Stratusfaction. Alexa Bliss and Mickie James both show up. Alexa says only "the dullards" care what Trish has to say, but Trish says Alexa came up short in the math department before making fun of her height. Alexa says she gets that Trish is a legend, then tells her that she sucked in WWE. Alexa tells Trish that she would have been an afterthought if Alexa got in the ring with her at the time and that Trish would have been in her shadow. Trish challenges Alexa to get in the ring with her right now. Alexa and Mickie get in the ring, but Mickie says this is not happening here as the fans do not deserve it. She then says nothing good ever happens in Chicago, Illinois. Trish tells Mickie to protect her "bestie," and that at Evolution, she and Alexa will find out what a Hall of Fame beatdown feels like. Mickie then proposes Trish vs. Alexa be a tag team match. Trish likes the idea, then ponders who to team up with before Lita shows up. Both teams brawl, and Trish and Lita quickly come out on top. He says this is just how things are done in WWE to put smiles on the fans' faces, then says that Brock Lesnar is not here and not even watching the show tonight, as he is resting to train at home for Crown Jewel. Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 1, 2018

Dean Ambrose shows up to start tonight's show. Charly Caruso interviews Ambrose in the ring, and Ambrose says there is a lot of truth in what Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre said last week, and also brings up Seth Rollins replacing him with Jason Jordan. He admits he has thought about leaving The Shield (Ambrose, Rollins, Roman Reigns), but he has thought about a lot of things, and says there are a lot of possibilities. As for why he has been in The Shield for so long and why he hasn't finally snapped yet, it's because he is waiting for the perfect time to slip the knife right in their back. As far as sticking with Rollins and Roman Reigns at the end of last week's show goes, he says he has done nothing but clean up his brothers' messes. Nevertheless, he still stands by them. He says The Shield is a brotherhood, not a business or a brand, and that they will always ride in to battle together. As Ambrose leaves, however, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up. Corbin pretends to be moved by Ambrose's words before saying it is all a bunch of whining. Ambrose asks if Corbin is a therapist on top of being the world's largest substitute teacher before asking if he is salty about last week. Corbin says his team fell short last week, but since the cops weren't hear to stop The Shield from tearing things up, he counts it as a win. He gives Dean three options: facing Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, facing Reigns for the Universal Championship, or going one-on-one with Braun Strowman. Ambrose thinks about it for a moment, and Corbin asks if it will be his brothers or his career. Ambrose tells Corbin none of that is happening and demands a match against him. Corbin says this isn't happening, and he goes ahead and makes the choice for Ambrose: Ambrose vs. Strowman, right now.

Braun Strowman beats Dean Ambrose by disqualification. During the match, Roman Reigns shows up and brawls with Strowman, then Seth Rollins shows up and he and Roman sends Strowman out of the ring. Strowman makes his way to the ramp, but he is joined by Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Acting General Manager Baron Corbin. Corbin says this is his show, not The Shield's (Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns), and puts Rollins up against McIntyre for later and Roman up against Dolph Ziggler for the next match.

In the trainer's room, Dean Ambrose is met by Seth Rollins. Dean gets angry, and Rollins reminds him it's about the war, not the battle. Ambrose says it's funny as he could be Intercontinental Champion right now.

The next match is almost for the WWE Universal Championship, but Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up and announces that Rollins and Reigns' matches tonight are both non-title and that Roman will not be defending the Universal title again until Crown Jewel.

Roman Reigns beats Dolph Ziggler.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey beats Ruby Riott with a cross arm breaker.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at Super Show-Down.

Konnor beats Bobby Roode after Viktor pushes Chad Gable off the steel steps, distracting Roode and allowing Konnor to get the win.

We hear from Alexa Bliss in "A Moment Of Bliss," where she talks about heroes as well as how heroes have heroes. Alexa says her hero is Trish Stratus and that she will be facing her at Evolution. She talks about how how she first met Trish Stratus when she was seven years old and asked her for her autograph only for Trish to burp in her face and charge her $50. She then says Trish then tore up her autograph book and stepped on her foot. Alexa then says she cried the entire night, and that when it comes to heroes, Stratusfaction is not guaranteed.

The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) beat The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) after Bo Dallas gets the knees up to counter The Revival's rocket launcher double-team to get a surprise pin on Dash Wilder. After the match, AOP (Akam and Rezar) blindside The B-Team and hit the Super Collider in the ring.

Backstage, an aching Dean Ambrose is met by Roman Reigns, who wants to know if Dean is all right. Ambrose says he's fine, and says he had Braun Strowman beaten. Roman says he could have also gotten hurt. Ambrose says if he wasn't such a nice guy, he would be WWE Universal Champion right now.

Charly Caruso then introduces WWE ambassador Dana Warrior, research Dr. Candice Grzelak, fundraiser Patty Bulger and ten-year breast cancer survivor Jennifer Teeler, who are all in the front row.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler tells Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman that this is the last night The Shield will be together and that this is their moment. Braun says Dean is "a tough bastard" and that when Dean isn't up against him, he is a winner. He says that he needs winners tonight and tells Drew to win tonight before saying they do not need any weak links and starting at Dolph.

Drew McIntyre beats Seth Rollins after Dolph Ziggler runs into the ring, distracting Rollins and allowing McIntyre to hit the Claymore. After the match, McIntyre and Ziggler take the boots to Rollins. Roman Reigns runs in to even the odds, then Braun Strowman shows up. The distraction allows McIntyre and Ziggler to blindside Reigns, then Dean Ambrose runs in with an ax handle and goes to town. This lasts until Braun Strowman gets his hands on Dean Ambrose and gets him back in the ring. After this, Ziggler, McIntyre and Strowman make easy work of The Shield (Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns).

We see another commercial for WWE 2K19.

Elias and Kevin Owens are in the ring. Elias plays guitar, then Kevin Owens commends Elias on his guitar playing before Elias asks who wants to walk with him. He says there is only one man who is going to walk with him tonight, and that man is Kevin Owens. Owens talks about their match at Super Show-Down against Bobby Lashley and John Cena and says them teaming up makes sense. After saying they have so much in common, Owens says he and Elias are great guys. He then says John Cena teaming with Bobby Lashley doesn't make any sense, and Elias agrees with him, saying it's like having a basketball team in Seattle, Washington. The boos and jeers by the crowd becomes deafening. He says he can get Oklahoma City, Oklahoma having a basketball team, but Seattle makes no sense to him. Owens has to scream over the crowd, and even he has a tough time doing that. Owens says John Cena has been living up to his "you can't see me" catchphrase, and Elias says the last time he saw Cena was at WrestleMania, when he ruined his WrestleMania moment. He says that Cena will not ruin Super Show-Down for them. Elias demands that the light be toned done so that the spotlight stays solely on him. Owens says that every opportunity the people have to see Cena is special, as Cena has a big ego and only performs on a big stage. Elias says that Cena needs to wrestle men like them to stay relevant, as there is nobody in the world like him and Cena needs to be in there to feel like he is the best. Owens say to be the best, you have to beat the best, and he and Elias are the best right now. Owens says that John Cena and Bobby Lashley have no chance at Super Show-Down, then says Elias has to give encore performances all the time as his music is so popular. Owens says he will perform one in the form of a pop-up powerbomb on Cena. Suddenly, Lio Rush shows up and gives Owens and Elias props for taking their Super Show-Down match seriously, then tells Owens not to overlook tonight's match or he will look as foolish as he has made him for the past two weeks. Lio Rush then introduces Bobby Lashley for the next match.

Kevin Owens beats Bobby Lashley after Elias gets Lio Rush in a full nelson, distracting Lashley. After the match, Elias and Owens take the boots to Lashley, and when Lio Rush goes up top to make the save, Elias swats him away like a fly. Elias then helps Owens hit Lashley with a pop-up powerbomb.

Shawn talks about the match between The Undertaker and Triple H at Super Show-Down, saying he has felt a gambit of emotions about the match for the last few weeks and that Sunday will be the last match between them ever. He says that when it all started, he had to book himself a flight to Melbourne, Australia, as he knew this would be a historic moment and that he wanted to witness it as a fan. That was the plan until a couple of weeks ago. Then, it got personal. He says that when The Undertaker put him in a position where he had to make a choice about who he stood behind and believed he would win, everything changed, but he still stands behind Triple H. He says this upset The Undertaker, then says The Undertaker made it personal. He says that if 'Taker has Kane in his corner, then he will be in Triple H's. Shawn warns Kane or anyone else who tries to crowd the ring that he will brush them back courtesy of some Sweet Chin Music. Suddenly, Kane shows up. Instead of being on the stage, however, Kane is behind Shawn, who turned around to a big right hand. The lights then go out and a gong is heard, and when they come back on, 'Taker is standing by Kane. Shawn looks up to see 'Taker perform his throat slit taunt, and he is about to fall victim to a Tombstone Piledriver when Triple H runs to the ring. This leads to a big brawl between Triple H and The Undertaker, and Kane also gets some right hands when he gets involved. Shawn looks up to see 'Taker perform his throat slit taunt, and he is about to fall victim to a Tomstone Piledriver when Triple H runs to the ring. Stephanie tells Corbin to get two tag team partners and take care of business with The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) or else Kurt Angle will be back from vacation sooner rather than later.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) show up to start tonight's show. Ambrose says everyone is looking at "the three workhorses" of the WWE, and while they have lost a few battles here and there, they have not lost the war and they are still here. Reigns says the fans could read their resumes, but it could probably take all day, and says that all they have to do is raise their titles high as they are the keys to the kingdom and everyone should want them, saying they can change a person's life. However, he feels the only people deserving of them are The Shield. Rollins says that is because this is and always will be about being the best, and that is what they are. He says that Braun Strowman recruited "a pack of jackasses" to take them down at Super Show-Down, but that will not happen. He also says that General Manager Baron Corbin is having a problem with them, and calls him out so they can show how much of a problem they can be. Baron Corbin shows up that Stephanie is here and that it is her birthday. He also says he will not let Raw erupt into madness like it has the last couple of weeks, and that he and his partners will throw The Shield around like a bunch of rag dolls so he can impress Stephanie. He plans to expose The Shield as a bunch of egos, and he plans to prove that with Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Braun Strowman, who all show up. Strowman tells Roman Reigns to shine the Universal title up real nice, as he will not be wearing it for very long. He tells Ambrose to look into his eyes, and that he deserves more and that Reigns and Rollins do not approve of him. Ziggler also mentions that Ambrose was the one Rollins called up to defeat him and McIntyre. He also says Ambrose has gotten nothing out of reforming The Shield, and says that Rollins and Reigns won't even let him speak before questioning Ambrose and Rollins' friendship outside of the ring. Ziggler then finishes by saying that Strowman will beat Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, and says that if Ambrose joins their side, everything will come to him. Reigns tells Ziggler to shut up. He says that the fans paid money for them to whip their asses, and calls them out for a fight. Baron Corbin runs ahead and stops a brawl before it can begin, saying this is not happening right now. Corbin says he and his partners will deal with The Shield and spoil their reunion before it even begins as Ziggler and McIntyre defend the Raw tag team titles later tonight.

Finn Balor beats a distracted Jinder Mahal with a schoolboy pin after Bayley slaps Alicia Fox and hits a Bayley-To-Belly on Sunil Singh after tripping Jinder from the outside behind the referee's back in response to Sunil grabbing at Finn Balor's ankle. This does not end well, as Brie Bella kicks Liv Morgan in the face twice afterwards, potentially concussing Liv.)

He says that he is a forgiving and generous man, and introduces Lio Rush to the show. Lio Rush shows up, and Owens asks Lio Rush to simply walk into the ring as part of the show. Lio Rush says that he and Lashley made him and Elias look like fools, and that Owens and Elias are here to make up for those failures. He says that he may be young, but he is not naive, and he is staying on the stage. Elias says they have special seating for Lio Rush, and Owens pulls out a high chair booster seat. Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 5, 2018

The show begins with Bray Wyatt. He says Elimination Chamber is coming, and last year, he won the WWE Championship. He plans to repeat his destiny, but his nemesis, Roman Reigns, stands in the way. He says Roman has fallen so far down the spiral that nobody recognizes him, as Roman lost at Royal Rumble and lost the Intercontinental Championship, and he still displays a bravado he can see through. Bray sees him as a failure waiting to be put out of his misery, and he is happy to oblige, for at the end of the spiral is something far worse than failure: him. We then hear from Roman Reigns, who says that failure is someone who cannot deal with adversity, and stays down after going down. He has had up and downs, but that is the mark of a great journey, not failure. His journey is going to continue into WrestleMania, and Bray Wyatt cannot stop him from becoming the next WWE Universal Champion.

Roman Reigns beats Bray Wyatt to qualify for the Elimination Chamber Match. Matt Hardy is seen watching the match from backstage. After the match, Matt Hardy gets in the ring from out of the crowd, and hits Bray Wyatt with a Twist of Fate.

In the locker room, Jason Jordan is met by Seth Rollins. Rollins wants to know if Jordan is 100%, as this is the last time they will face The Bar and a repeat of Royal Rumble cannot happen. Jordan says he is 100%. Seth tells Jordan this is not about either of them, but what they can do together, and that they need to take the Raw tag team titles back.

Sasha says it was every woman for herself, and says she will head to the Women's Elimination Chamber Match and win the Raw Women's title. Bayley, Mandy Rose, Mickie James, Sonya Deville and Sasha Banks will take on Alexa Banks for the WWE Raw Women's Championship in the Women's Elimination Chamber Match. Nia Jax may be absent from the match, but she will be taking on Asuka. If Nia Jax beats Asuka, she will be in the match for the Raw Women's title at WrestleMania, making it a Triple Threat Match. Suddenly, Alexa Bliss shows up, and she is not happy. Alexa tells Angle that what he is doing is not only wrong but completely unjust, and that it needs to stop. She does not consider this part of "evolution," and asks why the title is on the line in the women's match while it is not the case in the men's match. Alexa then asks if this is the case because she is a woman. Angle says that Brock Lesnar defended at Royal Rumble, while she has not defended since TLC in October. Alexa says she does not make the matches, and blames this on Angle before asking if he values Lesnar over her. She then says that this is not only hypocritical, but also sexist. Angle thinks that Alexa is trying to weasel her way out of the match, then asks the audience if they want to see Alexa Bliss defend the title in the Women's Elimination Chamber Match. The crowd chants "yes." Alexa tells the crowd to chant "yes" like sheep all they want, but she is the Raw Women's Champion and that she demands respect. She then leaves the ring, then Angle asks the crowd if they want to see the match again. Again, the crowd chants "yes."

When he beats John Cena and Braun Strowman, he will solidify himself as the final entrant in the Elimination Chamber Match. After that, he will grace WrestleMania. He then says it is a crazy reality that everything WWE will be his, as WWE stands for "Walk With Elias." Elias then says he turned down the Super Bowl halftime show to perform here, and says that was a mistake. He sings a song hoping that he can escape Des Moines. After the match, Braun Strowman lays out Elias with a running powerslam. He teases leaving, but then goes back into the ring and hits Cena with another running powerslam. Braun then picks up Elias and hits him with another running powerslam. Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 8, 2018

Roman Reigns shows up to start tonight's show. After all the talk, attacks and hype, he says that Samoa Joe would have been ready for him last week, but he wasn't, and he got silenced as a result. He says he is still Intercontinental Champion not because he was better, but because he was fighting for a purpose: his brother, Dean Ambrose. He then says if anybody messes with one member of The Shield (Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Reigns), they mess with all of them. After Roman says that that was last week and this is this week, Jason Jordan shows up. Jordan says that when he watched Roman's match with Joe, he got goosebumps and felt like he was part of something meaningful. He tells Roman that he proved that this is his yard, then thanks him. He then proposes a fist bump, then Seth Rollins shows up. Rollins says he appreciates what Jordan is trying to do, but he still has a lot to learn. Last week, he taught him about teamwork, which went pretty well, but this week, he has to work on his timing, as he tells Jordan that he is walking on Roman's moment. Jordan says they all have legitimate issues with Samoa Joe and Roman took care of them like he and Seth took care of Sheamus and Cesaro, and now they are all champions. Jordan then starts saying they can take on multiple guys and that they are the best three-man group in WWE. Suddenly, Finn Balor and Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) show up. Balor says Jordan may be excited to be part of something is, but questions if Jordan really is part of the best three-man group in WWE. Balor then tells him he has ran with Gallows & Anderson long before Jordan knew his father. Anderson says he and Gallows have ran with Balor for a long time, and Gallows says that when they came to WWE, they had to stand alone. By doing that, they became champions in their own right. They went and did their own thing, but they knew one day they would have to join forces and take WWE over. That day was last week, and they are excited, as 2018 is the year of Balor Club. Jordan is not impressed, saying he glad to be part of the champions' club. Anderson asks if that is "some cute new version of The Shield," and Balor says he doesn't see Ambrose anywhere. Balor, Gallows and Anderson proceed to call Jordan a nerd. Jordan slaps Gallows in the face, and Rollins and Reigns have to hold Jordan back. Suddenly, General Manager Kurt Angle shows up, and says he has just found his main event for tonight. He doesn't know who would win between the two teams, but he would love to find out, and makes a six-man tag match between the two teams official.

Sasha Banks and Bayley beat Absolution (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville) with a Banks Statement to Mandy Rose. Before the match, it is announced that Mickie James is entering the Women's Royal Rumble.

We look back on Mankind's hospital visit to Vince McMahon on October 25, 1998...as well as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's attack on Vince afterwards.

In the locker room, Cedric Alexander has a meeting with Goldust, who does his best impression of Rocky Balboa's boxing coach Mickey Goldmill. Cedric says he is close to becoming a champion, but Goldust says there is one thing standing in his way: himself. He tells Cedric that he is control, not them. Cedric says he'll be okay, but Goldust says Enzo Amore won't be.

It is reported that Goldust will be teaming with Alicia Fox for WWE Mixed Match Challenge on Facebook Watch one week from tomorrow.

Matt Hardy - now with new entrance music to reflect being "woken" - beats Curt Hawkins. After the match, Bray Wyatt is in the ring behind Matt Hardy. Hardy turns around, and both men have a staredown where they laugh at each other.

Elias is in the ring. He plays guitar, then asks the fans to admit it was good before asking who wants to walk with him. Elias says he has been everywhere, and that he has met a million people and heard a million people, and that only one truth remains: WWE stands for "Walk With Elias." He says that today is a very special day, and that there is no better place to celebrate the occasion than in Memphis, Tennessee. He then plays a song written for tonight. Elias proceeds to sing about Elvis Presley and Graceland, then proceeds to ask why he should even care about any of it. He then says there is a star on the way of taking over the entertainment biz...then says it is The Miz. The Miz shows up with The Miztourage (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel), who all enter the ring. Miz asks the fans if they miss him, which results in an ovation from the crowd. It is now time for Miz TV, and The Miz says that The Marine 6 filming has wrapped and he is back. The Miz may have been go for a while, but he has not been forgotten as Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have kept his name alive as he is the glue that keeps Raw together and must-see. He then makes Bo and Axel tonight's guests as he says they have turned themselves around in 2018. Bo and Curtis show their appreciation for The Miz for helping them make 2017 their best year yet, then start a "Thank You Miz!" chant before Bo gives Miz a framed photo of himself. Curtis then gives Miz the sportscoat off his back. Bo gives Miz his watch, and Curtis tries to give Miz his shoes. Bo and Curtis argue until Miz tells them to shut up and sit down. Miz goes on to say 2017 was a great year for him, but he has a lot more planned. He held the Intercontinental title for 200 days while elevating Bo, Curtis and Raw, but he has not forgotten getting beaten up by The Shield two months ago. Miz calls this "an indignity not befitting someone who has done as much for WWE as he have." He says that he has merely let Roman Reigns borrow the Intercontinental title so it could be represented week after week and become bigger than him. In 2018, he will witness the birth of his daughter and he will become the greatest WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time, with children of this generation picturing only him carrying the title. He hopes Roman Reigns has enjoyed the spotlight, for it is coming to an end and he is taking the Intercontinental Championship back.

In the locker room, Finn Balor tells Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) are focused on their six-man tag team match. The situation may be different, but the tactics are the same: eyes open, feet moving. Tonight, they have a real opportunity to show everyone that 2018 is the year of Balor Club.

Before the next match, Enzo Amore says the doctors could not let him compete last week after he was in the hospital. He then mentions Goldust in last week's cruiserweight division match, and says Cedric is teaming him Goldust because it's the closest he'll get to gold in 2018. Enzo plans to end this year like he ended last year: with gold around his waist.

Cedric Alexander beats Enzo Amore by count-out. Enzo Amore retains the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Nia Jax is seen watching the match from backstage.

In the trainer's room, Enzo Amore is met by Nia Jax.

General Manager Kurt Angle is talking to someone who hasn't been in the ring in years who may be in the Women's Royal Rumble. He is then met by Sheamus and Cesaro, who are demanding their tag team title rematch. Sheamus accuses Angle of putting Jason Jordan in a six-man tag team match and accuses him of favoritism. Angle tells Sheamus and Cesaro they will get their rematch at Royal Rumble. As for tonight, they want competition. Angle tells them to head to the ring so he can find them some competition. He is then met by The Miz, who says that he will be starring in his own unscripted series along with Maryse. He then demands a rematch for the Intercontinental title on Raw's 25th Anniversary. Angle tells Miz he will have his rematch for the title in two weeks.

In the locker room, Alexa Bliss meets up with Asuka. She tells Asuka to enjoy her luck while it last, for it will run out when she faces Nia Jax.

Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews get a surprise win on Sheamus and Cesaro when Apollo Crews distracts Sheamus with a moonsault on Cesaro, allowing Titus to win the match with a schoolboy pin.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman show up. Heyman says there is a credo in the business called "old school," which he and Lesnar have a lot of respect for, but they never let it blind them to the fact that wrestling is always a progressive industry that is ever-changing in terms of presentation. He asks the crowd to forgive him for being a hypocrite, as he has gotten away from the old school that is not for the betterment of the product and detracting towards the Universal Championship reign on Brock Lesnar. They are always looking for that one person who can step up and beat Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion, but they have gotten away from that, as the Universal title is now marketed as "How can Brock Lesnar survive this predicament?" Heyman doesn't like it, and he admits Lesnar does not like the concept. Last week, Lesnar took Kane's best shot and laughed in his face, just like he will at Royal Rumble when he faces both Kane and Braun Strowman with the title on the line. This time, however, Brock Lesnar will walk into Royal Rumble with only one cliffhanger in mind: "Will he pin Kane, Braun or both?" Heyman then says that Brock Lesnar is the most dominant champion in WWE, and says he has yet to see anyone who can outmatch Lesnar and put him down. As Lesnar and Heyman leave, Lesnar is attacked from behind by Kane, and both men brawl next to the stage. The brawl spills to the backstage area, and Braun Strowman quickly joins in, tossing Lesnar around and attacking Kane with a large storage case. Braun finds a grappling hook, then tosses it into a nearby set structure and pulls it down with the grappling hook in an attempt to crush both Kane and Lesnar as everyone nearby begs him not to do it. (One of the members of security is played by independent wrestler Precious.)

We see footage from during the break where doctors help Brock Lesnar onto a stretcher and into an ambulance while Kane tries to get back up under his own power.

Samoa Joe beats Rhyno with the Coaquina Clutch. Charly Caruso interviews Samoa Joe after the match. He says Roman Reigns' win last week was a Pyrrhic victory, and he has beaten years off his career every time they have squared off, and the cracks in the foundation are coming. When it all comes tumbling down, he will be there to finish the job. He is looking to greater things, and he is going to enter the Men's Royal Rumble. As for future challengers, when it comes to his career, John Cena will be a name he will never forget, and he will be the first man he eliminates in the Rumble.

Backstage, Nia Jax is met by Alexa Bliss, who asks about Enzo Amore. Alexa tells Nia Jax she cares, but she is worried that Enzo is holding her back. Nia Jax says Enzo has inspired her to become a champion, and she is entering the Women's Royal Rumble. Alexa tells Nia that if she can take out Asuka before the Women's Rumble Match, they can go on to WrestleMania. Alexa also tells Nia that Asuka has been saying things about, and whispers something into Nia's ear. Nia is shocked, then asks Alexa if she can speak Japanese, because Asuka can't speak English.

The Rawls Family is the winner of the Little Caesars Seat Upgrade this week.

Nia Jax assaults Asuka from behind before Asuka's match can even happen.

You can vote for Bayley's partner in WWE Mixed Match Challenge on the Mixed Match Challenge Facebook page. The winner will be announced at noon Eastern.

Next week: Asuka vs. Nia Jax!

Finn Balor and Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) beat Jason Jordan and The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) after Jason Jordan gets in the ring illegally, distracting the referee and keeping him from seeing Rollins tag Reigns in. This leads to an argument between Jordan and Reigns. Gallows & Anderson hit Rollins with Magic Killer, and while Jordan checks on Rollins, Balor hits Rollins with the drop kick before connecting with Coup De Grace for the win. After the match, The Miztourage (The Miz, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel) attack Reigns, Rollins and Jordan, and The Miz hits Reigns with the Skull Crushing Finale. The Miztourage teases leaving the ring, then they go back into the ring so they can hit Roman Reigns with The Shield's signature three-man powerbomb.
