Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for November 29, 1999

In memory of Hiro Matsuda, 1937 - 1999.

Goldberg shows up. He knows that The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are in the back hearing what he has to say, and asks if he is the kind of guy to mess around with. He says he is not, but week after week, they show up and try to entertain the people with a little bit of comedy. He says that will not happen tonight. Last time they met, he got hit in the back with a steel chair and admits that he liked it. He is in the ring tonight to put a stop to their childish games, for when he steps into the ring, this is his world and he does not play around. He does not make threats, he is just the bearer of a little bit of reality as to what is going to happen. He then tells Scott Hall that if he gets involved in his match with Kevin Nash, he will show him what a little bit of heavy metal is all about. As for Kevin Nash, he's next. The Outsiders then show up, and Hall tells Goldberg he sounds upset and serious tonight, and they are here to bring that comedy he was referring to. He admits than wrapping a steel chair around Goldberg's head was one of the funniest things he has ever seen. Nash tells Goldberg The Outsiders have five words for him: don't sing it, bring it. Goldberg dares them to get in the ring, but as The Outsiders approach Goldberg, Sid Vicious shows up and says it will not be that simple as there is a new babyface in his town and his name is Sid Vicious. Sid and Goldberg fight The Outsiders side-by-side until security gets in the ring to break it up. Hall gets knocked out of the ring by Sid, while Nash gets out of the ring.

A mud ring is seen near the entrance ramp, and it is announced that a match involving The Nitro Girls is involved.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is seen exiting a limousine as two women get out of a ring nearby. (One of the women is former WWF Women's Champion Bertha Faye; the other is Patty Stonegrinder aka Leilani Kai.)

Johnny The Bull and Big Vito are seen talking to Tony Marinara, saying they will take care of Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux before the night is over.

Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Buff Bagwell and Booker T after a chair shot to Buff Bagwell during the pinfall as Curt Hennig distracts referee Billy Silverman. Creative Control continue to attack Buff and Booker after the match, but the light go off and come back on, signaling the arrival of Midnight, who hits Creative Control with some drop kicks.

Juventud Guerrera shows up in Vince Russo's office. Russo is complaining about having some "Japanese clown" on his show due to prior commitments, and that the person in question is none other than Jushin "Thunder" Liger, who has not been seen in WCW in quite some time. Vince Russo tells Juvi that if he can take the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship off his waist, he will take are of Juvi's visa problems. Vince also tells Juvi he has a plan.

The Total Package, dressed in an expensive suit, hands Miss Elizabeth a piece of paper for breach of contract and threatens to sue her for hanging around with Sting last week. Miss Elizabeth says this has gone too far and that she will do anything to straighten this out. The Total Package says he will think about it.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is seen waiting near Vince Russo's office.

The two women from earlier figure out what to wear for the mud ring match.

Someone is seen delivering flowers to a woman named Symphony, who opens the door. There is a note attached that reads "My dearest Symphony, tonight is a night you will never forget. The next note in this cantata of love is soon to follow. Sincerely, your maestro." She takes the flowers.

Mike Tenay interviews Jeff Jarrett, who insists that he is the chosen one. As far as Dustin Rhodes is concerned, he could care less about him. He says he was hand-picked to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and tonight, he gets one step closer to doing that. Tenay responds with "I hope so, because you've fallen out of favor with the powers that be." Jarrett responds by blasting him in the head with a guitar.

Brian Knobbs shows up. He says that what makes him stick to his stomach is the fat that he lost to "a woman" at Mayhem for the WCW Hardcore Championship. He says it is far from over as he is a hardcore solder of war. He says "Screamin'" Norman Smiley is in the back, and if he has any guts, he will face him in the ring. Smiley is in the back, and he does not have his gear. Fit Finley shows up with a bag around his shoulder, and he scares Norman Smiley to the point that he screams and hides underneath the table. Finely pulls out from the bag two Kendo sticks, tosses one to Knobbs, tosses away the other one, and still manages to make quick work of Knobbs. He then pulls out a piar of scissors and cuts off the back of Knobbs' hair. He then whacks Knobbs in the back with a kendo stick again, then says to the camera "He wants to be a soldier? Now he looks like a soldier!"

Johnny The Bull and Big Vito run into "Mean" Gene Okerlund. Vito invites Okerlund to a night out on the town. Okerlund accepts the invitation.

Curt Hennig and Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) are in Vince Russo's office. Vince humiliates them for being attacked by Midnight, and Curt Hennig he would have cut through her, as nobody has ever embarrassed him like that. Vince Russo then makes a match between Curt Hennig and Midnight with Booker T barred from ringside.

Rob Moore from Mountain Grove, Missouri and Nancy Lastich of West Alice, Wisconsin are the final two Mayhem Match of the Week winners.

The two women from earlier tonight put on their make-up.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is still waiting for Vince Russo.

He smashes it into the back of Liger's head to win the match and the Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. is now the main interviewer for the show now that Mike Tenay is knocked out and "Mean" Gene Okerlund is spending a night out on the town with Big Vito and Johnny The Bull. He also tries to sell his Amway goods - a set of fine china for $39.99 - before interviewing Oklahoma and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Oklahoma says Jerry Only should understand that running his mouth got him in a steel cage, and that none of his buddies can help him. Williams says it will be a slobberknocker.

Symphony is delivered candies. A note is included that reads "Sweets for my sweet, tonight you will be the cherry on top of my cake. Forever yours, The Maestro."

The Outsiders then play basketball with the Television title and a garbage can, and Nash dunks the TV title in the trash.

Before the next match, Shane Douglas announces that "Operation: Roadkill" was a huge success, and The Filthy Animals (Konnan, Rey Mysterio Jr., Kidman, Eddie Guerrero, Torrie Wilson) are no more. Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. are nursing themselves back to health in hospital beds thanks to The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya), while Kidman and Eddie Guerrero will be on a idfferent cable channel sorting out their differences on Love Connection. He says The Revolution worked them from the inside, as The Filthy Animals never knew what hit them, and they nearly set the world on fire. What pissed them off, however, is that they cheered for Bret "The Hit Man" Hart for winning American gold, then booed them. Malenko says he was in the ring with "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit last week, and when he won, the fans booed him despite being American-made and born. Love it or leave it, The Revolution will leave it and declare themselves a sovereign nation upon themselves and do away with America. Tonight, he will be called "The Python." Shane Douglas will be "THe Rattler," Asya "The Boa." Saturn says he will be known as "The Trouser," (which he calls "the most sought after snake in the world") then says that if the fans want a revolution, they've got it. Tonight, they will start making that sad song better. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan then shows up and says he's got their snake right here, then stands up for America by stating he will shove his 2x4 where the sun doesn't shine. He then fights off The Revolution with his 2x4. Asya hits Duggan, but this causes Duggan to drop his 2x4 when the rest of The Revolution take advantage of the situation. They then hit him with his own 2x4, then Benoit shows up and saves Duggan as The Revolution do an "Iwo Jima" pose on top of him with their American flag.

Flynn says there are three rules for something new he has introduced called "The Block": two men enter and one man leaves, bare fists and feet only, and come ready to fight, as no man has truly lived until they have felt the real pain of "The Block." He says the opportunity is there for any mean to meet him in the ring.

Curt Hennig and Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) tell "Rowdy" Roddy Piper that Vince Russo is ready to see him now. Roddy, who is amazed that Curt Hennig is now on the same side as the powers that be, says he is proud to see the powers that be, but he has a stomach cramp and needs to take a "Vince Russo," and that he will see the powers that be whenever he damn well pleases.

Kevin Nash guests on commentary for the next match.

Scott Hall retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Sid Vicious. During the match, Hall inadvertently smacks referee Charles Robinson as Sid gets him up for a choke slam. When Sid goes for the powerbomb, Nash gets in the ring, but Sid sees it coming and dodges the elbow drop, which hits Hall. Sid then grabs Nash, but before he can powerbomb him, Jeff Jarrett runs in and whacks Sid in the head with his guitar. During the match, Oklahoma tries to get in the ring, but Vampiro and the rest of The Misfits catch him and pour his barbecue sauce all over him. Goldberg takes Scott Hall by surprise and beats him up before the next match. We see Sid Vicious' locker room, and Sid is locked in. Kevin Nash is now backstage and attacking Goldberg along with Hall, and Sid kicks his dressing room door down to help Goldberg out. This leads to a tag team brawl, and the match eventually starts when Goldberg and Nash get in the ring. Meanwhile, Hall and Sid continue to brawl at ringside, but it is not long before Hall gets in the ring with a steel chair and takes out referee Johnny Boone before hitting Goldberg in the back with it.
