Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for November 22, 1999

Backstage, Jeff Jarrett says it is his time and that he is the chosen one, and tonight, he takes matters into his own hands.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart shows up. He says it has been a long two years, and he thought to himself not too long ago if he ever wanted to come back. He says he will be the best World Heavyweight Champion that WCW has ever had. He says the last year has had its ups and down, and he thanks all of the fans for backing him up, and he dedicates his title victory to his Stu Hart, who watched the match from home. He says that now that he is champ, he will do things the right way. A few weeks ago in Phoenix, Arizona, Goldberg was screwed in the first round. He says he has infinite respect for him and says he was screwed, and tells Goldberg that if he wants a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, he will be honored to see him at Starrcade and settle things once and for all. Suddenly, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) show up, and mocks Bret wanting to do things the right way, then says he and Nash don't care. Hall tells Bret that if he wants to get to the top, all he has to do is take a few lessons from the guys who took WCW "from the outhouse to the penthouse." He then says he and Nash do whatever they want whenever they want to whomever they want. Nash says that just because you get an iron-on that says you are the best does not make you the best, and if that was the case, he would be "Joe Boxer" tonight. Hall says that would make him "the Landing Strip." Nash then goes to say he and Hall run the show around here, and challenges Bret to tag team with Goldberg and take them on. Bret says if they want, they've got it. Suddenly, Jeff Jarrett comes out from the crowd and smashes his guitar into Bret's head, and says he is the chosen one and that the World title belongs to him whether he likes it or not.

Mike Tenay interviews Curt Hennig, who has one more thing to do before leaving WCW. He says he will not wrestle for WCW and he is a man of his word, and the powers that be will not stop him from seeing his fans. Suddenly, a man is seen playing a piano with a woman by his side.

Kidman and Konnan says that what is going on with Eddie Guerrero is getting out of hand, and that they need to take care of it.

Oklahoma and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are seen backstage.

Tony Marinara is seen in the locker room talking to two men: Johnny The Bull and Big Vito (formerly Skull of Da Baldies in Extreme Championship Wrestling). Tony says there are no longer playing games with Disco Inferno, and they will take him down New York. The problem is, Johnny is hungry and Big Vito can't remember who we're going after again.

The Total Package is talking with Vince Russo. He wants a match between Miss Elizabeth and Meng, having the power to book the match himself, as Vince Russo cannot make the match due to Elizabeth being under contract to Luger instead of WCW, Luger says he has it under control. He says that Miss Elizabeth is under contract for three years, and that she did not even read the contract before signing it. He says that Liz trusted him like Sting did, and says that Sting is pulling his bat out of his ass because of it. Russo lets Luger make the match. Meanwhile, Liz has seen the whole thing go down on a monitor backstage.

Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) beat The Filthy Animals (Konnan and Kidman) to become the WCW WOrld Tag Team Champions! During the match, black-and-white Kid Cam footage of Torrie Wilson and Eddie Guerro is seen on the video screen, and Kidman runs to the back. After the match, Kidman finds Eddie Guerrero and beats the crap out of him, and WCW security have to stop the fight.

Mike Tenay interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, and Goldberg is also nearby. Bret says he knew it would get tough as soon as he become the world champion, and that it would get busy for him, but he expected that. He and Goldberg will take on The Outsiders first, then he will give Jarrett his first match with the world champion and he will be excellently executed. Goldberg proposes that Bret take care of Jarrett while he takes on The Outsiders himself. Mike Tenay asks if this will be a 2-on-1 handicap match, to which Goldberg replies "Not necessarily."

Sky urges Spice not to go forward with the match tonight, but Spice says there is nothing else she can do.

Buff Bagwell meets with Curt Hennig, who says that there are no hard feelings and says that Buff is the man to carry the company on his shoulders. Buff thanks Curt. As this goes on, piano music can be heard again.

Before the next match, "Screamin'" Norman Smiley says he is the new WCW Hardcore Champion. He says that if you look up "hardcore" in the dictionary, you will see him. He says that he is so hardcore, he drank milk that was two days past the expiration date. He then says that if any "wanna-bes" who want to challenge how hardcore he is, all they have to do is come to the ring. Suddenly, Fit Finley who has not been seen in months - gets in the ring and almost immediately beats up Norman.

Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan advertise the "Nitro For Me" fragrance at the commentary table.

Miss Elizabeth tells The Total Package that what happened last night was an accident, but The Total Package tells her to stop making excuses and that she needs to learn how he felt last night. Meanwhile, piano music is still being heard.

Mike Tenay interviews The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). Hall says he and Nash have something in store for him in the form of a rito squad, but Nash tells him that all their previous plans did not work. Nash then says he and Hall are getting the band back together, whether Goldberg realizes it or not.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. tries to sell 24-karat Italian gold to Johnny The Bull and Big Vito. As this goes on, piano music is playing again and Disco Inferno is seen in the background, immediately recognizing Johnny and Big Vito, and heading into the locker room in disguise.

Mike Tenay interviews Jeff Jarrett, who says what happened at Mayhem was detour on the way to the gold. He is the chosen one, and the World title will soon be around his waist. He was chosen by the powers that be to win the World title tournament, and whatever Bret "The Hit Man" Hart does, the World title will be around his waist.

Perry Saturn beats Evan Karagias with the Rings of Saturn. During the match, a man dressed as a hippie carrying a sign saying "Hell No! I Won't Go!" appears and guests on commentary, and it becomes apparent that this is Brad Armstrong, who wants to go by the name "Buzzkill." After the match, Asya and Madusa have a catfight at ringside, and both Saturn and Karagias have to hold both women back.

Mike Tenay interviews Kidman and Torrie Wilson as piano music plays. Kidman says Eddie Guerrero can talk about "la familia" all he wants, but when he makes a move on Torrie, it hits him in the back and in the heart. Tonight, he wants Eddie to face him one-on-one in the ring.

Vampiro and The Misfits are seen entering the building, while Oklahoma and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are seen backstage again.

Mike Tenay interviews Eddie Guerrero as piano music plays again. Eddie says he is not proud of what happened here tonight, but what's done is done. Unfortunately, things turn out to be what they aren't. He says Kidman surprises him and cannot listen to what he has to say to him, and since he cannot listen, he will have to show him in the ring.

Oklahoma and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams guest on commentary for the next match.

In the final Mayhem Match of the Week, Vampiro beats The Wall by disqualification when Berlyn hits Vampiro with a chair. During the match, The Misfits try to get their hands on The Wall but cannot. After the match, Berlyn keeps him from hitting Vampiro with the chair for a second time, and both men stare down before Berlyn slaps The Wall. The Wall then chases Berlyn to the back. After the match, Jerry Only of The Misfits notices "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and yells at him. Dr. Death gets in the ring and attacks all four of The Misfits, then Vampiro gets in the ring and kicks Dr. Death out of it. Oklahoma has to hold Dr. Death back.

Miss Elizabeth locks herself in a shark cage to get away from Meng.

In the parking lot, a limousine pulls up.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Jeff Jarrett. During the match, Detroit Pistons player Grant Hill is seen in the front row. Later on in the match, Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) distract referee Mickey Jay by approaching Bret, and as this goes on, Dustin Rhodes comes out of the crowd and hits Jeff Jarrett with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Creative Control see this and chase Dustin to the back, and Bret gets back in the ring and pins Jarrett.

Miss Elizabeth, still in the shark cage, talks to The Total Package, wanting to know what he was thinking and admitting the match was a mistake. He asks for the keys so he can unlock the cage and get the match cancelled, then tells her that she will be wrestling Meng no matter what and walks off, telling her that if she doesn't get out of the cage, they will bring the cage into the ring.

We see the limousine outside of the parking lot.

Miss Elizabeth gets Sting's attention, and tells him what is going on between her and The Total Package. Sting tells her she's made her own cage, and now she's going to have to sleep in it.

Eddie Guerrero beats Kidman. During the match, it is announced that Arn Anderson has been fired from WCW by the powers that be following his actions from last night, and that the powers that be not only did not know that he was an agent, but that he even worked in WCW in the first place. Later on in the match, The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn) attack Konnan and smash his arm between the steel steps and the ring post. Torrie tries to tell Kidman what is going on, but Eddie is not interested and is more concerned about getting the win.

Vince Russo asks Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) to bring "Hacksaw' Jim Duggan to him and to see who is in the limousine parked outside. Jeff Jarrett then shows up and chews Creative Control out for their inability to deal with Dustin Rhodes.

The Total Package is seen commanding a forklift to lift up the shark cage containing Miss Elizabeth as Meng heads to the ring.

Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) finds "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and tell him that Vine Russo needs to see him.

Mike Tenay interviews Spice. Spice cannot believe it has come to this, and says that Tygress has decided to hold her responsible for everything that has happened in the last few weeks. She is sad that The Nitro Girls have been reduced to this, and if a wrestling match has to decide everything, so be it. Sky shows up and asks her not to go through with this match, but Spice says that if a wrestling match is what it will take to settle everything, she will get in the ring.

Meng vs. Miss Elizabeth ends in a no-contest. At the beginning of the match, the cage - with Miss Elizabeth still inside - is brought into the ring by a forklift. During the match, Meng tries to bend the bars of the cage. The Total Package offers Meng the keys, but Meng puts The Total Package in the Tongan Death Grip before bending the bars again and grabbing at Miss Elizabeth. The match ends when Sting runs in and attacks Meng with his baseball bat. He then frees MMiss Elizabeth from the cage.

Goldberg is seen talking to somebody backstage, but the identity of the person is a mystery.

We see the limousine parked outside again.

As he heads to the powers that be's office, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan meets the man playing the piano, and helps himself to it while scaring the heck out of the man and the woman at his side.

Lash LeRoux beats Disco Inferno. Shortly after the match begins, Tony Marinari shows up with Johnny The Bull and Big Vito, who toss Lash LeRoux and referee Johnny Boone out of the ring after the match before having their way with Disco Inferno. Lash LeRoux heads back into the ring with a chair as Big Vito wraps a chain around his hand. He nails both Johnny and Vito with it, then Tony Marinari jumps on top of Disco to put him in a sleeper. LeRoux puts Tony in a sleeper of his own, then he and Disco put Tony in the body bag before running from Johnny and Big Vito.

Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) look into the limousine to see who is inside, with one of them knocking on the limousine.

Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) have to explain themselves to security officers .

Vince Russo confronts "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in his office for using his own personal office toilet last week. He says he has eaten nothing prunes morning, noon and night in preparation for this moment, then gives Duggan a toothbrush and tells him to go clean the toilet with it.

Tygress beats Spice via referee stoppage. Sky shows up during the match before Tygress scratches Spice in the eye, and after the bell is sounded, Sky hits Spice in the head with her purse. She and Tygress then draw on Spice's face with make-up.

Mike Tenay interviews Meng as piano music plays again. He says he is not a fool, and that Sting stuck his nose where it did not belong. He says Sting hit him with the bat across the head, and now he wants to challenge him to a no-disqualification match. Sting can use his bat, and he can use his hands.

Curt Hennig shows up. He shakes hands with Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and hugs the latter, then gets in the ring. Curt Hennig cannot even get the words out, and he leaves the ring.

The limousine door opens up...

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan cleans Vince Russo's toilet...with Vince Russo's toothbrush and not the one Vince gave him.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper makes a surprise appearance for the first time in months. He jokes about the powers that be, saying they write sex and "T&A" into the scripts because they don't get any. Suddenly, his microphone dies, and he finds out from Tony Schiavone that the producers were told to kill his microphone by the powers that be. Piper heads back to the back, and grabs a producer who tells him where the powers that be are. He kicks the door open and is confronted by Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald). Vince Russo tells Creative Control to stand down and let him go, and Piper is amazed by Vince Russo as being the powers that be, and accuses Vince Russo of ruining the sport that he has been in for the last 30 years, ever since he was fifteen years old. He calls Russo "a figment of his own imagination," and says he is ruining people's lives and making them squirm like worms. The only reason that Russo cannot take him down is because he has money, and threatens to beat him with a baseball bat if he ever cuts his microphone again. Russo tells Piper he is the one who needs a reality check, as he is down to one hip and is nearing 50. In his world, Piper is done, and he needs to join Flair and Hogan in the retirement home in Boca Raton. Piper says he has a two-year contract with Time Warner that Russo has to fulfill. Russo responds by making Piper a referee, and tells him that if he refuses to do the job or breaches his contract, he will sue him for everything he is worth. Piper reneges and says "Yes, sir," and continues to repeat that statement after he leaves the office.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper heads towards the limousine, repeatedly saying "Yes, sir." He gets in, and the limousine drives off.

Buff Bagwell vs. Booker T ends in a no-contest. During the match, Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) show up and attack both men, then Curt Hennig shows up only only to put Bagwell in the Hennigplex, turning heel and revealing he has sold out to the powers that be. Booker T fights both Creative Control and Hennig, then the lights go out. Midnight is in the ring when they come back on, and she and Booker T fight off Creative Control again.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) get ready in the locker room.

Vince Russo thanks Curt Hennig and welcomes him to the family. Hennig says he sees the big picture, and if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Vince then asks Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) to send Juventud Guerrera to his office.

Mike Tenay interviews Sting. He says he did not come here looking for a fight with Meng, but it just so happens that Meng is out of control and he had to do something about it. Miss Elizabeth shows up and says thanks to Sting, saying that she had no idea whow cruel The Total Package could be, and offers to be his manager or to help him in any way. Sting doesn't think Miss Elizabeth is being sincere with him, and declines the offer. As this goes on, piano music is playing again.

Asya beats Madusa by submission after wrapping her legs around Madusa's head.

Mike Tenay interviews Dean Malenko, who says that after last night, he has had his fill of Canada, and it makes him sick that two Canadians - Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit - are getting paid from an American paycheck for vying for what he considers American gold. Tonight, he will show Benoit what their friendship - and his country - means to him when he takes the Canadian flag, douses it in gasoline, sets it ablaze with a blowtorch and changes the Canadian national anthem from "O Canada" to "Burn, Canada, Burn." Once again, piano music is playing through the interview.

Goldberg is seen getting ready for his match in the locker room.

Dean Malenko beats "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit in a flag match. Despite Tony Schiavone originally saying that the winner had to grab their opponent's flag, then corrects himself during the match to say that the winner grabs their own flag, Malenko wins it by grabbing Benoit's flag. After the match, the rest of The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Perry Saturn, Asya) show up and toss both flags in a steel can before Malenko pours gasoline over both of them. He is about to light them on fire with a blowtorch when Bret "The Hit Man" Hart runs in and fights off The Revolution. Bret then hands the Canadian flag to Benoit, then he waves the American flag.

Vince Russo talks to Juventud Guerrera about his work visa, saying he has heard rumors that his work visa has expired. Juvi gives him a bottle of tequila as a present. Vince takes a shot of it, but spits it out and tells Juvi to get out of his office before asking Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) to get his toothbrush - which "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan used to clean Russo's personal toilet - from the bathroom.

Meng beats Sting in a no-disqualification street fight by pinfall with the Tongan Death Grip. Miss Elizabeth shows up shortly after the match begins, and when she tries to spray mace into Meng's eyes, Sting stop sher from doing it. The Total Package then shows up at ringside, and Sting deal with him before Meng puts Sting in the Tongan Death Grip. After the match, Miss Elizabeth checks on Sting, but Sting does not want her help.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are seen heading towards the ring, while Goldust asks the person in his dressing room if they are ready.

The man at the piano and the woman at his side are at the piano when Favid Flair shouts "Make it stop!" repeatedly before smashing the piano with his crowbar, scaring the pianist and the woman.

Sid Vicious shows up behind Goldberg, but it soon becomes apparent that Sid is Goldberg's tag team partner.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) beat Goldberg and Sid Vicious. Sid Vicious gets Hall in the powerbomb, but Nash hits Sid with an elbow drop as referee Mickey Jay gets Goldberg back in his corner. After Sid falls off of Hall, Hall gets his arm over Sid for the win. After the match, security has to rush into the ring to keep both team from tearing each other apart.
