Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for November 8, 1999

Sid Vicious forces a tape engineer to play a video when he gives the cue, or else he will be back and he will have to deal with him.

Sid Vicious shows up. He makes it clear to The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) that he is not as dumb as he looks. Last week, they tried to screw him, but it didn't work, and if they want a battle of wits, they will lose that battle as he has the brain of a psychopath. He then focuses on Goldberg, as last week, he told the world he would prove that at Halloween Havoc, Goldberg said he quit and that he surrendered. When he calls for the footage to be played, it is played. The videotape is obviously edited, yet Sid insists that Goldberg is a coward and that he is the WCW United States Heavyweight Champion. Suddenly, The Outsiders show up with Scott Hall wearing the United States title around his waist, and Hall asks Sid why the belt is on his waist if Sid is the United States title. Last week, he beat him, but Sid says he screwed him, as he was supposed to lay down. Hall says he doesn't lay down for anybody, as that is not how they operation. Sid says Hall will lay down right now, but Nash stops him, telling him "not to get his panties in a wad." He says Hall's competitive juices got the better of him last week, but they did not hit him with the crutch, and tells him to call out Bret "The Hit Man" Hart as he is the man Sid has a problem with. Bret shows up, and says that since they want to talk about panties, he calls them "three big pussies." The way he sees it, Goldberg is the United States Champion, and when he is done, he will take back the United States title and hand it back to Goldberg personally. Hall tells Bret that if he wants the belt, then "don't sing it...bring it." Bret heads to the ring with Sid, Nash and Hall at the ready, and as Sid attacks Bret while The Outsiders flee, Goldberg gets in the ring and goes at it with Sid, hitting him with a Spear. Goldberg then tells Sid "I don't think so," and that if he remembers correctly, the first chapter ended with him bloodied all over the ring. However, that wasn't enough for Goldberg, who proposes another idea: a match where only he or Sid can decide the fate in an "I Quit" Match. Sid accepts the challenge. As far as The Outsiders are concerned, if they want to play a game, they can play a game of hide-and-seek: they hide and he seeks and destroys.

Mike Tenay interviews Sting. He has seen the game The Total Package wanted to play, and it made him want to puke. He now has a lot of explaining to do, and if he has to beat him with his bat, he'll do it. As far as Goldberg goes, it will go down differently than Halloween Havoc did, and he's got some work to do.

Miss Elizabeth helps The Total Package - in an Indiana Pacers hoodie - get in the building.

We see footage from earlier today where Kimberly tells head of WCW security Doug Dellinger to keep an eye out for David Flair, telling him that David has been calling her all week, and asks for extra security. She gets it.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) consider getting security of their own. Kevin Nash reveals that he has a manager's license.

The Filthy Animals (Konnan, Rey Mysterio, Kidman, Eddie Guerrero) and Torrie Wilson are in the ring before the next match. Eddie says The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya) wants to change the world, but The Filthy Animals are going to rock their world. Torrie Wilson is home, and The Revolution lost the war and started something they could not finish. Rey says the only reason they left Asya is because "there are no mutts allowed in this kennel,"and says that they are the new breed, and if they don't like that, they're going to hump The Revolution like the dogs that they are. Dean Malenko then shows up with Asya, and says Rey has a big mouth for a little bunk. If he wants to call Asya a mutt, then this mutt can have him for lunch. He challenges Rey and Torrie Wilson to a mixed tag match, then asks "if he has a set on [him]" and if he is still "working that knee." Rey tells Malenko to "unleash that freaky beast," and he and Torrie will be more than happy to put a muzzle on her and send her straight to the pound. Norman Smiley, known now as "Screamin'" Norman Smiley, shows up in hockey gear. It is then announced that a Texas Tornado Ladder Match between Goldberg, Sid Vicious, Scott Hall and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart will take place later tonight to determine an undisputed United States Heavyweight Champion. There will also be a special guest referee for the match, but that person is not known as of yet. Jimmy Hart and Brian Knobbs then guest on commentary for the next match.

Kidman beats "Screamin'" Normal Smiley after Jimmy Hart distracts referee Billy Silverman and Brian Knobbs repeatedly smacks Norman Smiley with a hockey stick after Knobbs says that all Smiley needs now is a hockey stick to go with the rest of his hockey gear.

Sting is seen looking for The Total Package, who is in a washroom with Miss Elizabeth. Meanwhile, David Flair is in the parking lot with a crowbar.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are seen getting a manager's outfit for Nash when Hall notices two men in all-black riot gear walking past.

Sting shows up. He gives The Total Package exactly 30 seconds to show up in the ring, saying they can do this either "nice and easy" or "nice and rough." Miss Elizabeth shows up instead, and tells him that The Total Package wants her to apologize in his stead, saying their friendship is too important and that he would not do anything to jeopardize that friendship. She then says that The Total Package apologizes from the bottom of his heart, he is really sorry. Sting complements Miss Elizabeth on her looks, then says he has tried unsuccessfully to get The Total Package out to the ring, and tells her to call him down to the ring. Suddenly, The Total Package shows up, and he says nothing has come between them and that they can work this out. He tells him not to listen to the fans, and that this is between only them. He apologizes to Sting, saying he values their friendship and that they need to mend this fence as they belong together as a team, and begs him to come back, saying he loves him like a brother. The Total Package asks Sting to hug him, and Sting goes for the hug motion only to choke him out in the corner. Sting tells him that if he ever swerves him, he will get him, and he will rip his throat out next time.

Kimberly is in the locker room when the lights suddenly go out. A voice asks Kimberly if she remembers them, and that she won't feel a thing. The voice sounds eerily similar to David Flair's.

Goldberg is on one in a series of collectible cans of Surge available now.

"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Madusa by disqualification to advance in the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tournament. During the match, Evan Karagias shows up and tries to stop the match, and this leads to a brawl between Karagias and referee Johnny Boone. As this is going on and other referees are trying to break up the brouhaha, Jeff Jarrett gets in the ring with Benoit, and they start brawling. Benoit gets the win by disqualification due to outsider interference. After the match, Jarrett tells Madusa that this is not the WWF and that they do not hit women around here, but Madusa tries to fight him anyway before Jarrett says he screwed her out of the tournament.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. stands before Vince Russo (who is once again unseen) while wearing a suit and tie, with "Creative Control" close behind. He asks for an opportunity, and gets one in the form of an Amway briefcase. He tells him to start selling things and to get out of his office.

This week's Mayhem Match of the Week winner is Don Comfort of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Backstage, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan is seen cleaning the powers that be's toilet.

Rick Steiner beats Disco Inferno. During the match, the man who came out during Disco Inferno's last week comes out with a bucket of wet concrete. His name is Tony Marinara, and he is here for the money that Disco owes him. He has been carrying him since he was a kid, and he is not carrying him anymore. He eventually distracts the referee, allowing Rick Steiner to hit Disco with the bucket. After the match, Marinara threatens to dump the cement on Disco.

Sting is seen in the bathroom doing some push-ups on a sink, while Goldberg is seen getting ready in his own locker room.

Scott Hall is talking to the two men in riot gear. Kevin Nash comes out of the bathroom dressed like The Grand Wizard, and has powder, chloroform and a real brass knuckle in his pockets. Scott Hall says he feels bad about last week and says they should make up with Sid Vicious. Kevin Nash has a plan, and asks the two men in riot gear to follow him.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is in the ring with potential Nitro Girls: Zuli from Miami, Florida; Ashley from Raleigh, North Carolina; Keisha from Cincinnati, Ohio; Jamie from Atlanta, Georgia; Nicole from Kansas City, Missouri; Amy from Biloxi, Mississippi; Stacy from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Lauren from Phoenix, Arizona. Viewers can vote on the final winner on WCW.com. We then see all eight women dance. Afterwards, AC Jazz shows up, and wants them all out of the ring, calling them "Nitro Girls wanna-bes" and "skanks" who want to thake her job. Spice shows up and wants to know what is going with her, but AC Jazz says she is here to save the day like Mary Poppins and tells her to fly away like the "witch bitch" that she is. Spice has had enough, and tells her to bring it on if she has a problem.. Both of them go at it on. Storm and the rest of The Nitro Girls have to pull both women apart.

Backstage, Kimberly is armed with a pipe. Upon seeing David Flair, she drops it and runs away. David hears that and walks in her general direction.

Seven shows up. Instead of walking down the aisle, he flies down it and into the ring. As soon as he speaks and the lights come on, it is noticeable that Seven is, in fact, Dustin Rhodes (aka Goldust). He tells the crowd to "take a long look at the crap that [he is] in," and that he left the WWF for gimmicks like this. He then says he used to be Goldust, and Goldust sucks. He syas that Goldust nearly ruined his wrestling career, and he wanted to come back to WCW because this is home for him and he wanted to be himself, but the powers that be came to him and told him "Dustin sucks. Dustin is boring." He then says his name is now "Seven," and that they have dressed him up like Uncle Fester to play trick-or-treat all year long. He takes off his hat and jacket and tells the powers that be to take Goldust and shove it up their ass, take Seven and shove it up their ass, and then they can both kiss his ass. Last week, his father "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes called him, and it seems that he is no longer with the company after 25 years, when the company "kicked him to the curb like a piece of shit." That does not cut the mustard, and now the powers that be have him to deal with. They have embarrassed him and the Rhodes Family name, and they have pissed him off for the last time. From this moment on and until the end of time, he will make everything a living Hell, and he tells the producers that tonight and forevermore, they will never forget the name of Dustin Rhodes.

Kimberly is seen hiding in a dark room. David Flair is seen entering the room, looking for her.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) knock on Sid Vicious' locker room door. The Total Package talks with Miss Elizabeth, saying he has a really good idea to make it up to Sting.

Goldberg beats Sting. During the match, The Total Package and Miss Elizabeth show up, and Goldberg inadvertently backs Sting into referee Mickey Jay as Sting has him in a sleeper. Miss Elizabeth pulls out a can of mace and sprays Sting in the eyes, and Goldberg then hits the Spear followed by the Jackhammer for the win.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) apologize to Sid Vicious, and offers him the men in riot gear in case "Goldberg gets a little bit crazy." Rick Steiner shows up and confronts Sid briefly, then leaves. The Total Package and Miss Elizabeth come across "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan mopping a floor, then The Total Package steals one of his wet floor signs.

Kimberly finds a security guard, but the security guard is David Flair.

Mike Tenay interviews Vampiro, who is accompanied by The Misfits. He says this is no debut, and that being a misfit is a lifestyle when you go against the grain and everyone messes with you. As far as Buff Bagwell is concerned, he will find out just like Berlyn did that evil has a place in WCW and they are knocking on the door.

Vampiro and The Misfits attack Buff Bagwell before the next match.

Buff Bagwell beats Berlyn to advance in the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tournament. During the match, referee Johnny Boone is knocked down, and Berlyn gets on the apron and hits Vampiro with a chain wrapped around his fist. Buff Bagwell hits the Buff Blockbuster for the win. The Misfits then fight with Berlyn's bodyguard, then "Creative Control" show up and slam Berlyn in the guardrail before taking the boots to hiim. Berlyn is then carried to the back by his bodyguard.

The Total Package is lying on a wet floor, clutching at his knee with a wet fllor next to him.

The Total Package is on a stretcher, but the EMTs cannot find anything wrong with his knee.

Shane Douglas guests on commentary for the next match.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Perry Saturn to advance in the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tournament. During the match, Asya distracts referee Mickey Jay, and Shane Douglas attacks Bret. Saturn then hits the Death Valley Driver, but Bret kicks out. Dean Malenko then runs in as Saturn distracts the ref. He attadcks Bret, but "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit then runs in and fights Malenko. Perry Saturn dives towards Malenko and Benoit and hits both of them, and Bret gets back in the ring. When Saturn gets back in with him, he falls victim to the Sharpshooter.

Kimberly meets with "Creative Control," wanting to talk to Vince Russo. They tell her to wait her turn like everyone else.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are in their locker room with the security guards. Not only is Nash still dressed up like The Grand Wizard, he also does his best Carnac the Magnificent impression with an envelope provided to him by one of the riot gear guards, saying the answer to the question in the envelope is "316." He then opens the envelope, with the question being "The number of times The Undertaker has worked a main event with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin."

The Total Package is now in a wheelchair.

Booker T shows up. He says he is not supposed to be here tonight, but he has a few things on his mind in the form of "Creative Control" and Jeff Jarrett. He tells them they know what happened last week, and they can either get in the ring with him right now or he can find them backstage himself and get them in the ring himself before beating their asses in front of the world. He also tells "Creative Control" that if they want to suspend his brother Stevie Ray, he can "suspend their damn lives." He then calls them all out for a Harlem Street Fight. Jeff Jarrett shows up with "Creative Control" and a guitar in his hand, and Jarrett guests on commentary while "Creative Control" deal with Booker T.

"Creative Control" beat Booker T in a Harlem Street Fight. During the match, Jarrett gets in the ring with his guitar, then a muscular woman gets in the ring, punches Jarrett in the mouth, and gets a guitar to the head in response.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are backstage with the riot squad.

Mike Tenay interviews The Total Package, who says that he cannot compete until further notice and that he cannot compete with Sid Vicious. He is then told that according to the powers that be, if he does not compete tonight, he is out of the tournament. The Total Package is livid.

The Revolution (Dean Malenko and Asya) beat The Filthy Animals (Rey Mysterio Jr. and Torrie Wilson) with a Texas Cloverleaf to Rey. During the match, Asya handcuffs Torrie Wilson to the turnbuckle, leaving Rey on his own. After the match, the rest of The Filthy Animals (Konnan, Kidman, Eddie Guerrero) rush into the ring to check on Rey and free Torrie from the handcuffs while Asya and Saturn celebrate with Shane Douglas.

Sid Vicious is seen with the riot squad on his way to the ring.

Kimberly is seen sobbing in a shower when David Flair shows up with a crowbar.

Miss Elizabeth brings The Total Package to the aisle in a wheelchair, and The Total Package tells Sid Vicious that they will have to square off another time as he is injured and has to get an MRI, and if all goes well, he will wrestle next week. Sting suddenly shows up and drags Miss Elizabeth away with a bat, then Sting pushes The Total Package towards the ring and gets him inside it with Sid. Sid stomps on The Total Package until Miss Elizabeth shows back up, but Sid puts Miss Elizabeth to the side and continues to attack The Total Package in the corner. Goldberg then shows up, and the riot squad who is supposed to protect Sid let him in the ring.

Before the next match, it is announced that a Cane Match between Vampiro and Berlyn is signed for Mayhem. "Screamin'" Norman Smiley guests on commentary as he will be facing the winner at Mayhem.

Brian Knobbs beats Bam Bam Bigelow by count-out in a hardcore match, despite the match being a hardcore match, and goes on to face "Screamin'" Norman Smiley at Mayhem. During the match, "Screamin'" Norman Smiley takes a microphone and commentates on the match from backstage for the viewers at home. Later on, a distraught Kimberly shows up, wanting Bigelow to protect her from David Flair. Bigelow leaves with Kimberly, and Brian Knobbs wins by count-out as Norman Smiley contends with Jimmy Hart and Knobbs with a steel pipe. Despite it being a hardcore match, Bigelow is counted out.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are accompanied by several men in riot gear on their way to the ring.

Bam Bam Bigelow and Kimberly look for David Flair backstage.

A riot squad lines the ring for the next match in case Goldberg shows up.

Scott Hall beats Lash LeRoux to advance in the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Before the match, it is announced that Ernest "The Cat" Miller will be out for another three to four weeks due to the injury from his match against Lash LeRoux last week. After the match, Kevin Nash asks the riot squad to get in the ring so that Goldberg does not get in the ring with him and Hall. As all the riot squad members leave, one of them stays in the ring. Kevin Nash gets a handful of powder and is about to toss it at him when the riot guard smacks it back into his face. He then removes his helmet to reveal himself as Goldberg, and Spears Scott Hall before Spearing Kevin Nash.

Jeff Jarrett beats Curt Hennig by count-out to advance in the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tournament. During the match, Jeff Jarrett goes for his signature reverse Russian leg sweep (now known as "The Stroke"), but Hennig pushes him into the referee. This allows "Creative Control" to attack Hennig after he lands a Hennigplex, and they throw him through the commentary table. Hennig grabs the floor mats to keep from being brought back into the ring, and even though he is counted out, he gets to keep his job. After the match, Jarrett hits Hennig with The Stroke.

Kimberly is seen backstage.

Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are seen sitting in front of one monitor on commentary.

Kimberly shows up and calls out David Flair, saying she is done running from him and that this will end right now. If he wants her, she is in the ring, and whatever he wants to do, he will do it in front of all these people. David Flair shows up, crowbar in hand, but Bam Bam Bigelow gets David Flair from behind. David kicks him in the groin with a mule kick, then whacks Bigelow with the crowbar and chases after Kimberly. Kimberly climbs over the guardrail, and David chases her through the crowd.

David Flair is seen looking in the parking lot for Kimberly, who struggles to get in the driver's seat of her car. David Flair gets on top of the car and smashes the windows out with his crobar, and "Creative Control" scare him away. They tell her that the powers that be are ready to see her now.

Kevin Nash is the special guest referee for the next match, and he brings out the ladder which will be used in the match as he is surrounded by members of the riot squad. It is then announced that the powers that be have signed Kimberly into a match with David Flair at Mayhem.

Scott Hall retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Goldberg, Sid Vicious and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart in a Ladder Match with Kevin Nash as the special guest referee. During the match, Rick Steiner shows up and hits Sid Vicious with a Steiner Bulldog from the top rope before brawling with Goldberg. Bret goes up the ladder and grabs the United States title, but Nash hits him with a nightstick and hands the title to Scott Hall to help him retain the title.
