Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 1, 2000

RAW

Edge and Christian guest on commentary for tonight's show, but instead of coming out through the crowd, they walk from backstage down to the ramp. It is also announced that Trish Stratus is okay following being put through a table at Backlash. Edge and Christian proceed to issue an open challenge to any tag team in the back.

T&A (Test and Albert) beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) after Edge distracts the referee so that Christian can hit the Impaler on D-Von Dudley.

WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, WWF owner Shane McMahon, Tori and D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James) are seen heading to the ring backstage.

WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, WWF owner Shane McMahon, Tori and D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James) show up. Triple H says everyone must be jubilant that he is no longer WWF Champion and that The Rock is just ecstatic, and says he should be because he is the WWF Champion and "beat the best there is to do it." However, he has the feeling that The Rock is not as happy as he should be, as The Rock is an honest man and deep down, something is burning a hole in him: the fact that The Rock could not get the job done by himself. He says that although The Rock won, he needed "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Linda McMahon and "that little piece of crap" Earl Hebner to screw him out of being the WWF Champion. Triple H says that while The Rock is not proud of his victory, he will give him some advice: enjoy his reign while he can, revel in the fact that he is champion and enjoy the adulation of his people, for he is on borrowed time, as their adulation will be short-lived. He says that he will kick The Rock's ass and take back the WWF Championship the first chance that he gets, then tells Jim Ross that he listened to his commentary from last night and admits that Jim Ross is the best that what he does, but that he made one big mistake by repeatedly saying "Game over." He tells J.R. that he was wrong, and he wants everyone to understand clearly that "this game is not over...it is just beginning." Stephanie then takes the microphone and says he is so proud of Triple H, and says that he has never been more proud of her husband or her family, for last night, Triple H proved to the world once again that he is The Game, and that he has no equal. She says that any common man would not have continued to fight The Rock with a separated shoulder, and that her husband is no common man, as he continued to gallantly defend the WWF Championship. Stephanie says she would like to state for the record that she loves her husband and her family. Vince then takes the microphone to make reference to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, saying he is not scheduled to be here tonight; however, if Austin shows up tonight, he guarantees that what will happen tonight to Austin will be far worse than what any hit-and-run driver could ever do. As far as his wife Linda is concerned, he says that it was her who surprised everyone and reinstated Earl Hebner. He also says that he is not a violent man, and that Linda has led "a charmed life" being married to him, as he has never hurt a hair on her head. Nevertheless, if Linda shows up tonight, Triple H will supposedly hit her with a Pedigree. Vince then announces that Earl Hebner has reported for referee duty tonight, and that he will tend to him later. Vince then makes one more guarantee for tonight: when The Rock shows up tonight, WWF history will be made tonight in a steel cage that is hanging above the ring, which soon comes down from the ceiling of the arena.

Backstage, Crash Holly parks his car in the arena. All of a sudden, the parking lot attendant tries to fight him for the WWF Hardcore Championship with Teddy Long as the referee. Crash gets the upper hand, throwing him in the trunk and slamming the trunk door shut before running off.

Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) beat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy).

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon asks Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco to bring him Earl Hebner. WHen Brisco asks Vince if he wants Hebner in a box or on a silver platter, Patterson tells Brisco that Vince just wants to talk to him. Vince tells Patterson "You don't know what I wanna do to him...now just bring me Earl Hebner."

Backstage, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco bring Earl Hebner to WWF Chairman Vince McMahon. Vince asks Brisco and Patterson to wait at the other side of the door, and to not let anyone else in. Vince calls Hebner "a sniveling little shit" and asks him who he thinks he is. He says that if it were not for Hebner and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Triple H would still be champion, but WWF owner Linda McMahon had to reinstate him. Vince calls Hebner "a driveling little piece of dreck," and Hebner says he just wants his job. Vince tells Hebner to shut up, and to stay out of his business, as bad things happen to people who get in his business. He tells Hebner to remember that and to get out of his dressing room.

The current edition of Raw Magazine has five collector's covers of Terri Runnels, Tori, Trish Stratus, The Kat and Ivory in swimsuits.

The Kat and Jacqueline beat Terri Runnels and Ivory after Jacqueline hits Terri with an elbow drop and drapes The Kat on top of her while the referee is dealing with Ivory. After the match, Jacqueline and Ivory have another catfight.

Backstage, "Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac demand a rematch against Edge and Christian from WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helsmley after how Edge and Christian "spilled their blood" last night. Vince tells them he gets it, but they will not get their rematch tonight. Tonight, however, is family night, and Vince tells Road Dogg he has a special assignment for him. As for X-Pac, Vince asks him to defend Stephanie's honor against Chris Jericho.

Earl Hebner is re-introduced as a referee before the next match.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho welcomes everyone to "Raw Is Jericho" before telling X-Pac that he feels terrible for him for having to defend the honor of a woman who has absolutely none, for as far as WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley is concerned, the word means "jump on her and stay on her." After misspelling the word "honor" as "honer," he says that Stephanie is half of that as well as a filthy, dirty, disgusting, brutal, skanky, bottom-feeding trash bag ho and no amount of defending will never, ever change that.

Chris Jericho beats X-Pac by disqualification when X-Pac shoves referee Earl Hebner shoves back, which leads to a disqualification for X-Pac for putting his hands on him. During the match, it is announced that Chris Jericho has been fined $5,000 for physical abuse towards referee Tim White after White disqualified him at Backlash. After the match, Jericho gets X-Pac in the Walls of Jericho, then "Road Dogg" Jesse James runs in and hits Jericho in the back of the head before confronting Hebner. Road Dogg shoves him, but just like X-Pac, he also gets shoved back, and the rest of the referees in the back have to restrain both Hebner and Jericho.

The Rock is seen in the parking lot heading to the arena.

WAR ZONE

The Rock shows up. He says he gave his word that he would win the WWF Champion at Backlash, but he was not the only one who gave his word that night as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin did, too. He knows that Austin is listening at home with a beer in each hand, and tells him "Oh, hell yeah." He also knows that Triple H and WWF Chairman Vince McMahon were running their mouths earlier, and he tells WWF owner Shane McMahon to know his role, Triple H to shut his mouth, Vince McMahon to lick a llama's anus and WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley to wear her "dirty panties." He says that whatever they want to do to him and whatever they have in store for him, all they have to do is bring it. Vince shows up along with Shane, Stephanie, Triple H, Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson. Vince tells The Rock that he announced that WWF history would be made tonight, and that it will. He announces that The Rock will have the shortest reign of any WWF Champion in history, for tonight, he will defend the WWF Championship in a steel cage against Shane McMahon. Vince then says that to spare him the humiliation, Shane does not have to pin or submit him; he just has to climb out of the steel cage. As he says this, the crowd chants "Shane's a pussy!" Vince says that if the crowd thinks that, then tonight, Shane will become the WWF Champion. He says the first man who climbs out of the cage will be the winner, and that winner will be Shane McMahon. The Rock responds by saying that instead of being the shortest reign in WWF history, it will be the longest night in Shane's night.

Backstage, Triple H talks with WWF owner Shane McMahon, telling him that the WWF Championship belongs to him. Shane says it doesn't matter who wins it as long as it is kept in the family, but Triple H tells him it matters to him.

Before the next match, Edge and Christian come down the ramp the backstage. Edge says that the fans may be disappointed that he and Christian did not do the "mysterious running through the crowd thing," but ever since they won the tag team titles, it has become a bit much. However, he wants the fans to know that they have not turned their backs on them, and for the next five seconds, they will generously pose for all the fans for the benefit of flash photography. (This becomes the start of an Edge and Christian trademark.) Christian then tells the fans that in case they did not hear them earlier, we issued an open challenge to any young up-and-coming tag teams in the WWF. The challenge is answered by Rikishi and Big Show, who is dressed much like Rikishi and goes by the name of "Showkishi."

Big Show and Rikishi beat Edge and Christian after Edge hits Big Show in the back of the head with the ring bell. Edge and Christian retain the WWF Tag Team Championships. Afterwards, Edge and Christian roll out of the ring to avoid a double Banzai Dro, then get attacked by D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James). Referees have to keep them out of the ring, where Big Show and Rikishi get their revenge on Edge and Christian with a double Stinkface. Big Show and Rikishi then dance.

Backstage, Triple H vents his frustration about the possibility of the WWF Championship being around WWF owner Shane McMahon's waist to his wife, WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, saying the title is his. Stephanie tells Triple H that she does not get what is going is either, and says that Vince probably wants to see who the better man is.

Members of the Baltimore Ravens football team are seen in the front row.

Lita is seen wearing Chyna's prom dress as she heads to the ring with Essa Rios before the next match.

Eddie Guerrero retains the WWF European Championship against Essa Rios. After the match, Chyna drop kicks Essa Rios into Lita, then rips her prom dress back off of Lita's body to the point that it becomes a big red rag, stripping Lita to her bra and panties.

Backstage, Tori knocks a cup of hot coffee onto Earl Hebner's referee shirt and tries to play it off as an accident.

Before the next match, Tazz says Chris Benoit shows up week in and week out with "that same puss" on his face, as if the world owes him something. He tells Benoit that he plans to turn that frown upside down, and to keep his mood for the mood is about to change. It is then announced that Mick Foley will appear on Now And Again this Friday night. (Ironically, this Friday night's episode is the series' last.)

Chris Benoit retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Tazz. During the match, Perry Saturn shows up, and the distraction is enough to allow Benoit to hit the Fisherman's Suplex bridge pin to retain. After the match, Tazz attacks Perry Saturn, then Hardcore HOlly shows up and attacks Benoit in the ring before hitting a leaping clothesline on both Tazz and Saturn from the ring apron.

Earl Hebner is talking with the rest of the referees at a stairwell when Triple H shows up. Triple H corners Hebner near the wall in an act of intimidation, and Hebner runs away.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Crash Holly, who is constantly looking over his shoulder. Nevertheless, he sasy there is no pressure, then thinks Michael Cole is looking at him funny before admitting that the pressure is getting to him and that he is getting crazy looks everywhere he goes, causing him to think everyone in the world wants to take the WWF Hardcore Championship from him. Suddenly, he is attacked from behind with a trash can by "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman, who grabs a referee and makes him count the pinfall. This leads to an impromptu match for the WWF Hardcore Championship. Crash manages to escape, but not before two members of the Baltimore Ravens football team attack him and try to pin Crash to win the title.

Before the next match, Triple H, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up before WWF owner Shane McMahon, who is flanked by Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, who are wearing referee shirts.

Despite interference by WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, Triple H and Pat Patterson, The Rock retains the WWF Championship in a steel cage match against Shane McMahon after Earl Hebner shows up, pushes Patterson into the steel cage wall and slams the cage door on Triple H's head. (When Triple H is about to get in the cage to punch The Rock multiple times, he is heard saying "I'm going in, right?")

Raw Deal - Raw recap for March 27, 2000

WWF co-owner Linda McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. On behalf of the McMahon family, she apologize for the spectacle that took place in the ring last week on SmackDown, and says that she cannot describe how embarrassing and degrading it was for her. For weeks and months, she sat in the corporate headquarters running the company on a daily basis until she felt that she could not stay there any longer, as she was seeing how ugly things were becoming with her family. She eventually took a stand, and made the Fatal 4-Way for WrestleMania for the WWF Championship, which she believes was the right decision. Linda also goes on to say that Mick Foley deserves a chance to be part of the main event at WrestleMania and fulfill a lifelong dream. By giving Mick Foley a chance to live his dream, she has had to live a nightmare, and she cannot being to explain what it was like to stand in the ring and stare into "the hateful, cold blue eyes" of her only daughter saying what she said, and she was horrified. She then calls being slapped to the mat "humiliating and hurtful." She tells WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley that she has not always been a perfect mother, but she has always tried to give her the best direction and guidance she knew how to give, and gave her nothing but love and devotion for all of her 23 years. Linda then tells her that she did not deserve to be treated the way she was treated last Thursday, and she demands that Stephanie come to the ring and apologize right now to the fans and to the family. Suddenly, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up, and he takes the time to stand next to Linda to hear Stephanie's apology. He also says it is no secret that he has been surprised of Linda's actions of going from the boardroom to the ring due to his concerns for her personal welfare, as he was fearful that something like what happened with Stephanie would happened. He also shows concern with Linda standing in Mick Foley's corner, but Linda says Vince has known her a long time and that she can take care of herself. Vince says he does not doubt that, as it was one of the reasons he fell in love with her a long, long time ago; however, is it because of this that he hopes no harm comes to her when he raises The Rock's hand in victory when he wins the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 2000. Vince then tells Stephanie that if she has the same guts as the rest of her family, then she will come to the ring to apologize to both fans and family without her "degenerate husband" Triple H at her side. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley shows up without Triple H, and after having reflected on her actions, she says it wrong to slap Linda and that it was a disrespectful and cowardly act on her part. Stephanie says she slapped Linda out of rage, and apologizes to Linda, saying she really wanted to slap Vince, and if she could do it all over again, she would slap him in the face as hard as she could. Vince threatens to go up the aisle and "blister [her] little fanny 'til it turns blue." As Vince gets out of the ring, Triple H shows up and asks what kind of family he married into, and that Vince and Linda have to be the heads of the most dysfunctional family on the planet. Vince dares Triple H to get in the ring and see just how dysfunctional he can be, but Triple H says Vince is a violent man who needs counseling and lashes out in anger, while he is here to be the voice of reason and the calm, cool and collected one who can smooth everything over. Vince tells Triple H he has 20,000 people calling him an asshole, but Triple H says he does not give a crap about any of the fans. Triple H says it dawns on him that Vince should have packed his bags and left town a long time ago, as he has worn out his welcome in the business and it is time to go out with the old and in with the new. He then says that it is time for an ancient era to resign and a new era to run the show. Suddenly, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up, and says he agrees with Triple H in that a voice of reason as he claims that he and Lina are the only two level-headed McMahons in the arena. He then says that Stephanie slapping Linda was a cowardly act and that it proved her gutless. He calls Stephanie a pretentious, spoiled brat and he hopes that the image of her slapping Linda stays in her mind forever and rots and festers her guts until the day that she dies. He asks Stephanie how she could possibly do that and he hugs Linda, and apologizes to everyone on behalf of the McMahon family before announcing he will stand against Triple H and Stephanie as well as their marriage, which he says makes him sick. As for Triple H's proposal of a new era, he agrees with Triple H, then attacks Vince from behind with his microphone. Triple H and Stephanie get in the ring and and Triple H and Shane attack Vince. Linda grabs Shane by the hair, but Stephanie holds Linda back. Shane is about to punch Linda when Mick Foley runs into the ring and confronts Triple H and Shane, then Big Show gets in the ring and Mick Foley brawls with him. Triple H and Big Show make quick work of Foley, then Triple H punches Vince. Triple H is about to hit Vince with the Pedigree when The Rock runs into the ring and fights off both Triple H and Big Show, but once again the numbers game takes over and The Rock gets choke slammed after a clothesline from Triple H. Mick Foley gets back into the ring only to eat a pedigree from Triple H, who hits Vince in the head with the WWF Championship. Triple H, Stephanie, Shane and Big Show stand tall in the ring, and Triple H and Stephanie celebrate.

Chyna makes her first WWF television appearance since taking part in an episode of 3rd Rock From The Sun. Chris Jericho then shows up and says that ever since Chris Benoit came to the WWF, he has not smiled once because he is in denial. He says that Benoit is not "The Canadian Crippler;" instead, Jericho says he is "the robotic crappler" due to how the way walks and talks is completely mechanical and that everyone Benoit absolutely stinks. When Benoit shows up, he comes out to his own music and TitanTron video despite approaching the ring together with Eddie Guerrero.

The Radicalz (Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero) beat Chyna and Chris Jericho after Eddie Guerrero trips Jericho on the Asai moonsault attempt. After the match, Benoit and Guerrero continue to attack Chyna, and Jericho makes the save, brawling with Benoit in the front row while Chyna chases Guerrero into the ring. Suddenly, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko get in the ring and attack Chyna from behind before triple-teaming her with Guerrero. Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) run into the ring and chase Saturn, Malenko and Guerrero out of the ring.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, who says that he is concerned about the welfare of his wife, WWF co-owner Linda McMahon, before saying that everyone in the family should be worried about the welfare of another family member: WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, whom he is calling out later tonight. Linda shows up and tells him not to do this tonight, but Vince insists on doing this, saying this is his arena and not Linda's.

Hardcore Holly vs. Crash Holly for the WWF Hardcore Championship quickly turns into a brawl when Tazz and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) - both parties with their own referees - get involved in the match. Viscera also shows up with his own referee and tries to get involved, then Crash Holly tries to flee through the crowd. He is quickly ambushed by The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) - who also have their own referee - who quickly fight each other over who wants to be Hardcore Champion. He tries to ask Kaientai (Taka Michinoku and Funaki) if they know a way out of the arena, but Taka attacks Crash from behind and Funaki rips the striped shirt off of a referee to put it on himself and count a pinfall for Taka. Everyone else quickly catches up to Crash, who hides behind a trash can to great effect. When everyone is outside, Crash leaves through the door and locks everyone out of the arena, keeping the WWF Hardcore Championship in his hands for now.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. Shane says he would love to tear WWF Chairman Vince McMahon up after all he has done to him. Nevertheless, he turns down Vince's challenge.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly asks Rikishi Phatu for his thoughts on his match tonight with "Road Dogg" Jesse James. Rikishi simply replies "My ass in his face."

Backstage, Michael Cole waits in front of The Rock's dressing room door.

Rikishi Phatu beats "Road Dogg" Jesse James by count-out after Road Dogg walks back up the aisle following a Stinkface from Rikishi that almost makes him vomit.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews The Rock. He does not care about the "ongoing soap opera" within the McMahon family, He also says that because he is The People's Champion, he is not done tonight, and whether it be Triple H, Big Show, or any of the McMahon family members, his opponent will have no choice but to smell what he is cooking.

Edge and Christian guest on commentary for the next match.

The Radicalz (Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko) beat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) after Edge hits a Spear on Jeff Hardy behind the referee's back.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews Big Show and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. Shane says The Rock does not want any of him, and that he and Big Show would like to take The Rock up on his offer, and tonight, The Rock will find out how much of a prick he can be. Big Show says that the more he sees it, it is up to them to unplug the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.

WAR ZONE

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says that there are certain things that make sense, such as why the grass is green, the sky is blue and the Oilers wanting to leave Houston, Texas and never come back. He then says there are things that do not make sense at all, such as himself putting both the WWF Intercontinental and European Championships on the line in a two-fall Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania and his match tonight against "The Big Red Retard" as "[he has] nothing against retarded people and [has] a lot of retarded fans out there that admire and respect [him], and [he wishes] them well." He then says this is a conspiracy and he does not like it one bit.

Kane beats Kurt Angle by disqualification after Angle uses the WWE Intercontinental Championship as a weapon. During the match, Bob Backlund is seen watching the match backstage. After the match, Kane gets up and goes after ANgle, then brings him back into the ring to choke slam him and hit him with the Tombstone Piledriver.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, who is unaware of the handicap match between the team of Shane McMahon and Big Show against The Rock, thinking there is a tag team match between the team of Shane and Big Show and the team of him and The Rock. He then says that tag team match is what everyone will see and that there is nothing anybody can do about it, as The Rock has got a partner.

We see footage from earlier today, where Al Snow shows up and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman predicts that a Hawaiian pygmy will "come out and play 'Let's Go, Head Cheese' with his asscheeks." Snow says they did the impossible last week and got an audience reaction out of Blackman until T&A (Test and Prince Albert) screwed up, and now T&A are going to find out what happens when "Head Cheese" goes bad. Snow also says that does not mean he does not like "the pygmy and the asscheeks thing," which he keeps in mind for later.

Test beats Al Snow after Snow fails to catch Head when "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman tries to throw Head into the ring.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley tells Triple H that there is no need to accept The Rock's challenge and get into the ring before WrestleMania, as he has beaten everyone in the match before. Triple H says the point is that it is The Rock making the challenge. Stephanie then says that if Triple H wants to really mess with The Rock, he's got a present for him: a referee's shirt. Stephanie says Triple H can be the special guest referee in tonight's main event and mess with The Rock as much as he wants.

Backstage, Triple H cuts the sleeves out of the referee's shirt.

The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan vs. The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) ends in a no-contest. During the match, D'Lo Brown and The Godfather show up, and The Godfather's hos give The Acolytes some money so they can take their place. The Acolytes leave, and The Godfather and D'Lo Brown get a measure of revenge against Boss Man and Buchanan before the hos get in the ring and dance.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews WWF co-owner Linda McMahon. Linda says she did not have much control over how tonight started, but she will have some control over how tonight ends. If WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley wants to make Triple H the special guest referee for tonight's main event, that is fine, but there will now be two special guest referees in the match, with the second special guest referee being Mick Foley.

In the locker room, Mick Foley is seen putting on a referee's shirt.

We see some GTV footage where The Fabulous Moolah and Terri Runnels are in the dressing room when The Kat shows up. Terri compliments The Kat of her outfit, and The Kat responds by saying she has a better outfit for later after the massage. The Kat then hands Terri a bill for the shirt she ripped off of her, and Terri responds by ripping the bill in half. The Fabulous Moolah has to keep Terri and The Kat from putting their hands on each other, syaing she will take care of it. After Moolah tears the shirt off The Kat, Mae Young suddenly shows up and tears at Moolah's shirt. Terri then helps Moolah out of the dressing room, and The Kat and Me Young decide to go after them.

Backstage, The Rock tells WWF Chairman Vince McMahon that he does not want him as a partner, but Vince tells him there is not much he can do about it. The Rock then simply tells Vince to get out of his way.

We see part of the music video for "Know Your Role" by Method Man, based on The Rock's entrance theme and included on WWF Aggression, now available in stores.

WAR ZONE

Despite interference from Buh Buh Ray Dudley, X-Pac beats D-Von Dudley with help from "Road Dogg" Jesse James. After the match, Buh Buh Ray attacks X-Pac, then Road Dogg and Buh Buh Ray go at it until Kane arrives. Kane fights both of The Dudley Boys (Buh Buh Ray, D-Von) and Road Dogg, and when he goes for a choke slam on X-Pac, The Dudley Boyz hit Kane with a Dudley Death Drop before Tori stands over him and crotch chops Kane. Kane rises up and is about to hit Tori with a choke slam when X-Pac and Road Dogg stop him before tossing him over the top rope and into a table set up earlier in the match by Buh Buh Ray.

Before the next match, Big Show comes out to Big by Mack 10, K Mac and Boo Kapone featuring MC Eiht from WWF Aggression, in stores now.

Despite constant infighting and involvement in the match between special guest referees Triple H and Mick Foley that causes everyone involved in the match to fight each other, The Rock and Vince McMahon Big Show and Shane McMahon. When Vince and Shane finally go at it in the ring, WWF co-owner Linda McMahon is seen watching the match from backstage.

After the show goes off the air, The Rock, Mick Foley, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon and WWF Chairman Vince McMahon are still in the ring. Mick Foley checks on Shane, then hits him with a double-arm DDT before The Rock hits Shane with The People's Elbow. Before The Rock can do it, Foley stops him and asks Vince to hit The People's Elbow (or The Corporate Elbow, depending on how one looks at it), which Vince does. Afterwards, Foley goes for his own version of The People's Elbow on Shane. Vince then heads to the back, but The Rock and Mick Foley stop him so that The Rock can hit a People's Elbow of his own on Shane. The Rock then grabs a microphone and says he wouldn't even think of leaving without saying "Finally, The Rock has come back to Houston[, Texas]." He then says that he, Foley and Vince served up Triple H, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon, Shane and Big Show a nice big piece of poontang pie and that he took that pie, put it in a microwave for 13.5 seconds, turned it sideways and stuck it straight up their candy asses. He then says his new book, The Rock Says... went #1 in record time, and he thanks the fans for making that possible before delivering his signature "If you smell what The Rock is cooking" line. Suddenly, Shane tries to get up, and The Rock tells him Shane everything is fine and the show is over, and that he does not have to entertain the fans too much. Shane says something, and The Rock asks him to say it to the millions of his fans. Shane then speaks into the microphone "I'm sorry," and that his shoulder is broken. The Rock says he is a passionate man, and since Shane has apologized to him man-to-man and looked him in the eyes, he accepts his apology. The Rock and Shane appear to shake hands, but The Rock them hits Shane with a Rock Bottom before delivering his signature "If you smell what The Rock is cooking" line again to send everyone home happy. Afterwards, WWF head of security Jim Dotson then helps Shane to the back.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for March 16, 2000

Big Show and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon show up to start tonight's show. Shane says that the fans think he got what was coming to him on Raw and that it was perfectly acceptable for WWF chairman Vince McMahon to get in his business, knock him down to the mat and strike him with a steel chair. He then says it is not acceptable, as it goes against the moral code of society for any father to take that kind of action as parental abuse is against the law. He also says it is unnatural for Big Show not to go to WrestleMania to compete for the WWF Championship; therefore, he will. We see footage of The Rock's stipulations for Big Show and The Rock's match from Raw, and there is no stipulation stating that if Big Show lost, he would not go on to the WWF Championship match at WrestleMania. Shane then says it is his duty to inform the fans that the match for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania will be a Triple Threat Match between The Rock, Big Show and Triple H. Big Show then assures that with Shane McMahon in his corner, he is very confident that he will emerge from WrestleMania victorious. Suddenly, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up, and Big Show tells Triple H that at WrestleMania, he will once again become WWF Champion. Triple H asks Shane who he thinks he is walking out to the ring and talking about crimes against nature, and says there is no crime, saying that if Big Show is involved, it is a freak of nature. Triple H says that if he loses the WWF Championship to Big Show or The Rock, that would be a natural disaster, but he can see what Shane is doing a mile away and he is not pulling a fast one as Shane knows that Big Show and The Rock cannot beat him; however, in a Triple Threat Match, nobody has to pin him to become champion. Triple H then tells Shane that if he wants a Triple Threat Match, he's got it, as Big Show and The Rock are not going to win and that he will win because he is that damn good. Stephanie then tells Shane that if he will be in Big Show, then she will be in Triple H's corner and that there is nothing Shane can do about it as she has just enough power as he does. Shane then says he hasn't forgotten that she acts and looks like a cheap slut, but does not say "slut" until Stephanie tells Shane "You wouldn't dare say that again." When he does, Stephanie tries to slap him again, but Shane blocks it. Triple H shoves Shane, then Big Show gets in Triple H's face. Suddenly, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up and says Shane and Stephanie make him proud as a father, and says watching them jockey for power every week is like watching a bad soap opera. He then tells them to book themselves on The Jerry Springer Show and get it over with, and to think about their collective accomplishments in the last few months, as they have driven one of the greatest WWF Superstars in history in Mick Foley out of the World Wrestling Federation. He then says that is not good for business, as they also almost drove The Rock out of the World Wrestling Federation, which he says is "damn sure not good for business." Vince then says their public display of "bickering, bitching, moaning, kvetching, moaning, groaning" is not good for business, either, and that is why he has elected to come back and take control of the reins of power in the WWF again before they screw it up for good. Therefore, since Shane insists on being in Big Show's corner at WrestleMania and Stephanie insists on doing the same for Triple H, then he might as well make this a family affair. He then announces he will be in The Rock's corner at WrestleMania, then says "Now that's good for business!" Shane then makes a match between The Rock and Kane for tonight, then Stephanie makes a match between Big Show and Rikishi. Vince then decides to put Triple H in a non-title match against "someone Stephanie McMahon is very comfortable with" and someone Stephanie has something in common with: The Godfather. Vince then says that Stephanie might even get lucky tonight, as she might take a ride on the Ho Train.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against Edge and Christian. During the match, D-Von pushes Christian into referee Tim White, then Christian dodges out of the way of a forearm meant for him, and D-Von inadvertently knocks Tim White out. Christian plants D-Von with the Implaler, then Terri Runnels places a steel chair into the ring. Buh Buh Ray grabs it, but Christian drop kicks Buh Buh Ray in the back, knocking the chair out of his hands. The Dudleys still manage to hit the Dudley Death Drop to retain the tag team titles. After the match, The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) grab Terri Runnels and toss her into the ring with Edge and Christian, who immediately confront her. Edge and Christian leave, but before Edge leaves, he turns around and hits Terri with a Spear after seeing her do her "devil horns" taunt at them.

Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley glances a dirty look at The Godfather's hos.

Before the next match, The Godfather tells WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley there just might be a spot for her in the Ho Train, but it will be in the caboose. Triple H then beats him up for that remark, starting their match.

The Godfather beats Triple H. During the match, Big Show and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon show up, and Shane confronts WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley on the apron. Big Show gets on the apron on another side of the ring, and Triple H fights him off until Shane hits Triple H and Big Show attacks Triple H while Stephanie is still on the apron. The Godfather then pins Triple H to get an upset win.

Backstage, an enraged Triple H trashes his and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley's dressing room.

Backstage, Al Snow pitches "The Lethal Blackman" Steve Blackman the idea of the two of them in a sci-fi series with ninjas from outer space. He also brings out a little man dressed like a martian, and Blackman says it is a brilliant idea. When Snow leaves, Blackman smacks the little man in a martian suit in the gut with one of his sticks.

The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) beat Al Snow and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman after Mideon grabs Head and AL Snow takes it from him, leading Mideon to get back on the apron. When Al Snow hits Mideo with Head, Faarooq hits him with the Clothesline From Hell for the win.

Rikishi Phatu beats Triple H. During the match, Triple H shows up with WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and beats up WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, then hits Big Show with the Pedigree as Stephanie gets on the apron to distract referee Teddy Long. Rikishi then hits the Banzai Drop for the win. Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) show up and dance with Rikishi after the match.

Backstage, Bob Backlund talks to a guy working in the building about the Crossface Chicken Wing before putting him in it at the behest of Kurt Angle.

Backstage, Big Show throws things around in response to losing to Rikishi Phatu thanks to Triple H.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle says that Long Island, New York is going through some very hard times. He says the economy has plummeted, that Amy Fischer has been set free from jail, and their hockey team is in shambles. He then says that tonight, the fans not only have one hero to look up to and cheer for, but two, as Bob Backlund is with him. Backlund then says he stopped wrestling because of the "voluminous cavity" that the fans have fallen into, and says that "Mr. Ingles" will bring them out of that cavity and put morality back into their lives. Suddenly, Chris Jericho and Chyna show up, and Jericho tells all the Jerichoholics here tonight that tonight is a very special occasion, as the two biggest nerds in all of America are standing in the ring. Jericho admits that he wants to ram his fist up Backland's backside and use him as a ventriloquist dummy. After making fun of Backlund, Jericho tells Backlund he will procure a rapacious incursion courtesy of Y2J. Tazz then shows up and tells Angle and Backlund that someone is going to get choked out, and there are only two things they can do: nothing and like it.

Chris Jericho and Tazz beat Kurt Angle and Bob Backlund by disqualification. During the match, Tazz chases Backlund through the crowd and gets him in the Tazzmission, then Jericho gets Angle in the Walls of Jericho only to be attacked from behind by Chris Benoit. After the match, Chyna gets in the match and beats Benoit up, but she is attacked from behind by Eddie Guerrero. Benoit then hits Angle with a top rope diving headbutt.

Jonathan Coachman is grabbed by Kane, who asks where X-Pac is.

We see footage from earlier today where Crash Holly is forced to defend his WWF Hardcore Championship at the local Fun Time USA. The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) - sans makeup - bring referee Earl Hebner to the building, and Mosh finds Crash upstairs at the arcade, where he beats him up. Crash takes the fight downstairs by taking the slide, where Thrasher is waiting for him with a trash can in his hands. Despite The Headbangers' attempts to work together, Crash escapes through the front door and manages to hold on to the WWF Hardcore Championship.

We see a video package narrated by Kevin Kelly chronicling the recent bad blood between The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. It is announced that Mae Young is still convalescing in a medical facility, and that "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry - who is still distraught following recent events - was unavailable for comment.

Backstage, Kane attacks Triple H and X-Pac in full view of Tori and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Triple H and X-Pac manage to trap Kane inside the back of a truck.

Lilian Garcia interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, who states that if X-Pac is that hellbent on detaining Kane and Kane cannot make it to the match against The Rock, then X-Pac should take Kane's place in the match tonight.

Dean Malenko retains the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Grandmaster Sexay. During the match, it is announced that a #1 contender's match between The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and The Radicalz (Perry Saturn, Chris Benoit) will take place next. Later on the match, Eddie Guerrero gets on the apron, distracting referee Jack Doan, and Dean Malenko mocks Scotty 2 Hotty's Worm, allowing Eddie Guerrero to attack Grandmaster Sexay only to be sent into the ring post. Grandmaster Sexay goes up top, but Eddie Guerrero topples him off as Scotty 2 Hotty is still on the apron and referee Jack Doan is distracted, allowing Malenko to retain. After the match, Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) attacks Guerrero and Malenko, who are then forced to retreat. Chyna then runs out and attacks Guerrero from behind before hitting him with a DDT.

Tony Garea and Sgt. Slaughter try to free Kane from the inside of the tractor trailer.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) vs. The Radicalz (Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn) ends with both teams brawling outside, with neither team becoming #1 contender to the WWF Tag Team Championships.

Backstage, Triple H tells X-Pac that there is nothing he can do about replacing Kane in his match against The Rock, and tells X-Pac that he and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley will get him out of this.

X-Pac beats The Rock by disqualification. Big Show and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon show up just before the match begins, then Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up shortly afterwards. Later on in the match, following distractions and interference from Tori, Big Show and Triple H, Kane shows up, gets in the ring and attacks X-Pac before chasing him into the crowd. The Rock then fights Big Show and Triple H, throwing Triple H into Big Show in the corner and getting away when Triple H and Big Show beat each other up. WWF Chairman Vince McMahon is seen enjoying what is happening from backstage as the show ends.

Backstage, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are met by Kane and Tori. Triple H asks Kane to help him out, then says that they are proud of firing Mankind and that they do not want to throw their weight around. He also says that he and Stephanie did Kane a huge favor, saying that if Test did to Stephanie what he did to Tori, he would have done a whole lot worse to Test. He then asks Kane to do him a favor and get in the ring for a no-holds-barred match against The Rock. He says he is not trying to stir things up, but he says that The Rock has been looking at Tori as of late, and Kane might as well nip it in the bud right now. Kane grabs the bottom of one of his gloves.

Before the next match, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley admits to Triple H backstage that it gives her some pleasure to see Test get the crap beaten out of him week after week, and Triple H asks what else Test can do besides get fired.

The Big Boss Man and Prince Albert beat Test in a 2-on-1 handicap match after Big Boss Man hits Test's unprotected face with his nightstick before Albert hits Test with a bicycle kick.

Backstage, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are met by Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah, who say that Mankind is a dear friend of theirs. Stephanie calls them a disgrace to the World Wrestling Federation after how they attacked a man at a restaurant on Raw, then says that since they like fighting so much, they should have a match. Triple H whispers in Stephanie's ear, and Stephanie puts them in a match against The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly), which they begrudingly take after Triple H tells them they can be fired if they don't want it.

Al Snow meets with Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, and expresses his happiness with Mankind being fired. He then says that he wants Mankind's spot. Triple H says that if Mankind was here, he and Stephanie would have him wrestle Matt Hardy, but Matt is on the shelf, so he gets a match against Jeff Hardy and eliminate The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) altogether. Stephanie tells Al Snow that he will get a bonus if he is successful.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle asks the Richmond, Virginia crowd to allow him to be their honorary hometown hero. "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman then shows up, and is handcuffed to the ringpost. Backstage, WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley expresses displeasure with this, but Triple H says this is to make sure he does not get involved in this match. Shortly after the match begins, Blackman manages to get himself out of the handcuffs, then throws something into the ring to distract the referee. Blackman then clocks Rikishi in the back of the head with nunchaku, then re-cuffs himself before the referee turns back around. Kurt Angle beats Rikishi. After the match, Triple H is ticked off about what happened, but Stephanie reminds him that Kurt Angle is still undefeated.

Jeff Hardy beats Al Snow when referee Jimmy Korderas tries to remove Jeff's leg from a steel chair as Al Snow is on the top turnbuckle. As Al Snow is up top, Matt Hardy runs in and hits Al Snow with a steel chair of his own, giving Jeff the win.

Michael Hayes says The Rock has refused to answer any questions. Tori shows up, convinced that The Rock wants to sexually harass her, and when The Rock comes out of his locker room, Tori is scared half to death and tells him to leave her alone.

The Rock beats Kane. During the match, Tori tries to keep The Rock from bringing a steel chair to the ring, but The Rock manages to kick Tori out of the way and takes it from her. Kane tries to clothesline The Rock, but The Rock ducks and Kane hits Tori instead. The Rock hits Kane in the head with a steel chair before hitting him with a Rock Bottom onto it for the win.

We look back on Mankind aka Mick Foley's visit to WWF Chairman Vince McMahon's hospital room, which also marks the debut of Mr. Socko.

Jim Ross interviews Mankind in the latter's home. Mankind says he has prepared his family for the day when he would leave professional wrestling, and says he has saved his money as his daughter Noelle knows that he has to wrestle for a living. Nevertheless, his children are sad, as he is their hero. He hopes to do that, but as their father rather than Mankind. He has had his eyes on retirement since last year, and has wanted to retire in the main event at WrestleMania and go out as WWF Champion. He is not bitter about the Pink Slip on a Pole Match, noting that if he won, he would probably be the most hated person in the World Wrestling Federation right now. He is realistic about his role in wrestling and considers himself a very valuable part of the WWF, but right now, The Rock is the man and the future of the WWF. He says that he has his best days behind him while The Rock's best days are ahead. Mankind then says he wants to be remembered for bringing Cactus Jack back to the WWF as well as winning his first WWF Championship. He is happy to be home with his wife and kids, but his wife knows this is not the way he wanted to go out as it was far from beautiful. He says it is pretentious of Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley to finish a career due to getting off on playing with people's lives, dreams and families. He considers their attempt to fire him "woefully inept," and says only he will decide how he goes out and that he will not take this sitting down.

X-Pac, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley are backstage, having watched Jim Ross' interview with mankind. Triple H is livid that Mankind is still getting attention, and wants X-Pac to take his frustrations out for him by putting him in a match against Big Show, and if he loses, he is fired. X-Pac does not take kindly to this as he leaves.

Before the next match, Chyna says there has been a lot of speculation and rumors as to why she has been saving Chris Jericho for the last few weeks. She says it is not because of admiration or mutual respect, but but because she has been biding his time and waiting ofr her thumb to heal so she can face him for the Intercontinental Championship again. She calls out Jericho, so they can see who the true champion is. Jericho shows up, and asks how Chyna dares to lie to the Jerichoholics, saying that she came to the ring only to get close to him as she has a crush on "Y2J." Unfortunately, he does not feel the same way about her.

Chyna vs. Chris Jericho for the WWF Intercontinental Championship ends in a double pinfall. During the match, Jericho hits Chyna with a spinning heel kick, inadvertently sending her into referee Jimmy Korderas. Jericho then grabs a steel chair, but Chyna ducks when he swings it and she hits the Pedigree. Another referee runs into the ring to make the count. Jericho hits Chyna with a suplex and hits his back on the chair, and both referees make the count. Jericho and Chyna both have their shoulders down. Korderas says Jericho is the winner, but the other referee says it is Chyna. As the rest of the referees show up, Chyna and Jericho continue to go at it.

Michael Hayes interviews The Rock. When asked about what happened concerning the end of the Pink Slip on a Pole Match, he turns around and says that Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley fired him, not The Rock, and that he went out there and did what he did best. Tonight, he had to face Kane because of Tori, whom he would not even waste an ounce of muscle to look at. As for Mankind, he is not happy that he is fired. He tells Michael Hayes not to ask him such a question again, or else he will knock his teeth so far down his throat that he will need to stick a toothbrush up his ass to brush them.

Before the next match, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley show up to watch the match from a recliner on the stage.

X-Pac beats Big Show. During the match, Triple H makes the match a handicap match, and makes "Road Dogg" Jesse James X-Pac's tag team partner. Shortly afterwards, Triple H adds "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn to the match, making it a 3-on-1 handicap match. He then adds himself to the match, saiyng they can't have all the fun. The four of them then gang up on Big Show after Triple H busts him open with a steel chair shot to the head, and Billy Gunn ends it with a Fameasser to the steel chair followed by a Bronco Buster by X-Pac. Triple H then hits Big Show with a Pedigree, and X-Pac pins Big Show. After the match, Triple H says if you mess with D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, you either get your ass kicked or you get your ass fired.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) shows up to start tonight's show. Triple H re-introduces the fans to DX, and says they do what they want when they want to do it, and that they make the rules and then break them. He announces that the WWF, as of this moment, is on notice as they are back. Triple H decrees they will leave no stone unturned, and no rock unpulverized. Triple H tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock that if they are lucky enough to make it to Survivor Series, they will get in the ring with the top dog and the CEO of DX: himself. He is the WWF Champion, and he will walk out of Survivor Series as WWF Champion, like it or not. Triple H then says DX is here for one reason and one reason only: to run this show. X-Pac then takes the microphone, and announces that D-Generation X is back on top. He says that DX is the strongest force in the World Wrestling Federation today, but they can always get bigger, and tonight, he has the feeling that the fans will see a new member. Billy Gunn then mentions that last Monday, he got a taste of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and liked it, and says that DX will be at ringside when he beats Austin in the ring tonight. Road Dogg then talks about how he left The Rock in a puddle of "his own talentless puke," and challenges him to bring "The People's Balls" down The People's Ramp and enter the dog house, and admits he has one fear that The Rock will like it when he lays him flat on his back. Triple H then says he has told the world, but there is one more person he would like to tell to their face: WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, whom he calls to the ring and commands to "bow to the masters." Vince McMahon shows up, and Triple H to look into his eyes and he knows who DX is and what they are capable of. He tells Vince that this is game, set and match and that they pulled his punk card, and that DX is putting him on notice. Triple H then tells Vince his services are no longer needed, as DX is officially taking over and that they will make the rules and the laws, as he has the boys and the cards to do it. He then tells Vince to take a hike, because he is finished. Vince then takes a microphone and announces of the fans in Springfield, Massachusetts and across the world, he tells DX to suck it. Triple H says he expected a comeback, and says he is one step ahead of him, as they have three words for him: "We're taking over."

A camera is positioned in the parking garage in case The Rock or "Stone Cold" Steve Austin make their way to the arena.

Test and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon meet Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco backstage.

The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly) guest on commentary for the next match.

Too Much ("Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and Scott "Too Hot" Taylor), who now go by the team name of "Too Cool," beat Edge and Christian after Crash Holly hits Edge in the face with the scale. After the match, The Hollys and Too Cool continue to beat up Edge and Christian until referees restore order.

In footage from earlier today, Jim Ross interviews Big Show. Big Show says he has to leave because he knows that when he sees The Big Boss Man, he knows he is going to do something that he is .

"Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry comes out of the dressing room with only a towel wrapped around him. Two women leave as Henry pours water on himself, then two more women come in.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says that he has heard that Stevie Richards challenged him to a match, and says that he had the chance of a lifetime when he allowed him to be his tag team partner on Monday night. Jericho says he would have won the match against D'Lo Brown and Chyna (the latter of whom he calls a "girl") if Stevie had not tagged himself in and ruined everything, and says that Stevie is trying to make a name for himself by mimicking everyone, and says that Stevie will never, ever have the talent or charisma that he has. He then calls him out, and says he will beat the hell out of him. Chyna's entrance plauys, but it becomes obvious that this Stevie Richards dressed like Chyna. Jericho attacks Stevie from behind before the match begins.

Stevie Richards beats Chyna. During the match, Chyna and Miss Kitty show up, and Chyna pushes Jericho away as he uses the ropes for leverage. After the match, Stevie hugs Chyna, and Chyna punches him out, then Jericho rips the stuffing out of Stevie's outfit.

The Rock is seen coming into the building when he runs into "Road Dogg" Jesse James, who proceeds to fight him. Suddenly, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn, X-Pac and Triple H show up and mug The Rock before stuffing him into the trunk of his own car. Road Dogg gets in The Rock's car and drives off in it.

Kevin Kelly interviews D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). Triple H says DX is taking over, and that is exactly what they are going to do. Billy Gunn says that what they did to The Rock is nothing compared to what they will do to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. X-Pac says D-Generation X is taking over, and that is all there is to it.

The British Bulldog shows up with The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) before the next match.

The British Bulldog beats D'Lo Brown to become the WWF European Champion for a second time. During the match, D'Lo hits The Bulldog with the European Championship, but The Bulldog hits D'Lo with it in return only to get a near-fall. When D'Lo goes for the Lo Down, Pete Gas knocks D'Lo Brown off the top rope, allowing The Bulldog to win the title.

Backstage, X-Pac tells Kane that he is doing D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) on the side, and apologizes for trying to save Kane on Monday, saying it was either him or Tori. He tells Kane that tonight is about revenge against The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley).

"Road Dogg" Jesse James is seen looking for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and tells the garage attendant that The Rock is "on the the other side of the tracks, right where he belongs."

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) beat Kane and X-Pac after X-Pac hits Kane with a low blow followed by an X-Factor. Kane gets up and takes the Dudleys out, and is about to choke slam X-Pac when he is attacked from behind by the rest of D-Generation X. After Triple H hits Kane with a Pedigree, X-Pac tells Kane that "his job of carrying [his] big ass is over," says The Undertaker was right to say that he was weak, and says he is not DX material. He says there will be no new member of D-Generation X, as Kane is a piece of crap and he is sick and tired of carrying him.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry and Viscera - who are accompanied by a few women, two of whom are plus-sized - following the distraction from Terri Runnels. After the match, Viscera commands the women out of the ring, then turns on Mark Henry for costing them the match.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Bill Gunn) find out that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has arrived.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Bill Gunn) formulate a plan of attack against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, saying that they have to attack him before he attacks them.

The Big Boss Man beats Al Snow after rince Albert distracts Snow by striking the steel steps with Boss Man's nightstick and Boss Man attacks Al Snow from behind with the WWF Hardcore Championship behind referee Tim White's back. After the match, Al Snow sarcastically calls Prince Albert and The Big Boss Man beating him "a surprise." He doesn't know if it is the strike to the head or the doctors upping the doses on his medications, but he, being the grizzled veteran that he is, feels he has let the youth of the sport down as Prince Albert as he wasn't even physically involved in the match and he feels bad. Snow then proposes that since The Big Boss Man has the WWF Hardcore Championship and he is the crown prince of hardcore, that Prince Albert and Boss Man meet him in the parking lot for a hardcore match before leaving through the crowd.

"Road Dogg" Jesse James is seen with his left leg caught in a bear trap. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin pours beer on the trapped leg as Road Dogg screams in pain.

EMTs are seen prying the bear trap off "Road Dogg" Jesse James' leg.

Prince Albert and The Big Boss Man are seen in the parking lot, and they wait in their car. All of a sudden, a forklift hits the driver's side of their car, and we find out that the forklift is being commandeered by Big Show, who proceeds to destroy the car using his own fists and feet with Boss Man and Prince Albert trapped inside. Big Show then climbs up and topples a garbage dumpster on top of the car, crushing Boss Man and Albert inside.

Mankind is seen backstage.

"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn is seen hanging upside-down after being caught in a snare. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up and proceeds to splash beer on him.

Before the next match, Val Venis tells Mankind that as he stands in the middle of the ring, he knows exactly what he is thinking, and that Mankind is thinking that he wants respect for his in-ring ability, his out-of-ring ability and his literary arts. As Have A Nice Day! is set to be in the Top 10 of The New York Times' best-seller list and Mankind demands respect, and he will strut his stroll and gyrate his way down to the ring, look into his eye, and reinforce the idea that he is exactly what he is: the single-fastest up-and-coming athlete in the history of the World Wrestling Federation.

Mankind beats Val Venis by pinfall with the Mandible Claw. During the match, it is announced that "The Jaws of Life" are being used to free The Big Boss Man and Prince Albert from inside the car that they are trapped in, and that they are being placed in an ambulance. Later on in the match, Mankind cannot find Mr. Socko, and after Mankind avoids the Money Shot, Al Snow runs in with Mr. Socko, hands it to Mankind, and Mankind pins Val Venis' shoulders to the mat with the Mandible Claw.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) try to regroup in the locker room. All of a sudden, X-Pac gets a call on his cellular phone, and it is from "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Austin asks X-Pac if he listens to the roadio and if he listens to Casey Kasem, and says he has a message from him: "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars, As soon as X-Pac looks up at the ceiling, a ceiling tile falls on him, knocking him out. The rest of DX is livid.

D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) show up. Triple H tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin this is it, and if they want to play games and spring traps on them, he shoud know he is "the game." Triple H says DX stands in the ring united, and that they have sent The Rock packing to destination unknown and that Kane is off licking his wounds somewhere, and now Austin is next. Triple H says he knows the kind of man that Austin is, and calls him a coward who does not have the courage to face DX like a man and always has to hit them with a cheap shot. As soon as Triple H says Austin could be under the ring, DX looks under the ring. Triple H then says Austin is somewhere in the ring, and decides to give him a fighting chance to be a man and walk into the ring with D-Gneeration X so they can end this once and for all. He gives Austin the count of ten, and if he does not show up, they will head backstage, beat his ass, drag him to the ring, and show what kind of coward he is. Triple H then counts to ten, then calls Austin a "puss." As soon as DX are about to leave, Austin's music hits and Austin shows up. He says he has been sitting in the back listening to triple H, and he does not care at all about D-Generation X. He says that DX will not be taking over the WWF, and says he laid a bear trap thinking he would catch a bear only to catch a jackass. He also says that "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn should be named "Dumbass" Billy Gunn for falling for the snare trap, and tells X-Pac that the only thing that he likes about him is his name, since it sounds like a six-pack, but he is so stupid that when when he gave him the Casey Kasem line, he looked up at the ceiling and it fell on him. As for Triple H, he does not impress him one bit, and he asks the crowd to give him a "hell yeah" if they want him to come into the ring and whup his ass. Austin heads to the ring, then asks the crowd to give him a "hell yeah" if they think DX sucks. Suddenly, a net falls on DX. It takes them a while to get out, with Triple H getting out first, and as soon as DX gets out of the next, Kane shows up and fights DX with Austin. Suddenly, The Rock shows up and also fights DX. The show ends with Austin, Kane and The Rock cleaning house.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 18, 1999

RAW

The Rock shows up to start tonight's show. He says the stage is now set for Survivor Series 1999, and that he will face Triple H for the WWF Championship. He will not let Triple H get away for a second with taking a sledgehammer to his ribs. Last night, when he swung the sledgehammer, it was not meant for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but for Triple H's roody poo candy ass. At Survivor Series, when he is kicking Triple H's monkey ass all over the arena, his fans will be on their feet chanting his name, and he will take a sledgehammer, shine it up nicely, turn it sideways and stick it straight up his candy ass. Before The Rock can get finished speaking, Austin shows up. He tells The Rock that he is not the #1 contender to the WWF Championship like he thinks he is, and if he wasn't so stupid as to hit him with a sledgehammer, he would be talking to him instead of Triple H. He also tells The Rock that if he has a question as to what he is saying, then he can take off his silk shirt and they can fight about it right now. Austin drops his microphone, then The Rock does the same. The Rock takes his silk shirt off as Austin unbuttons his baseball jersey when WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up and says he has heard both men's points of view; however, he has yet to hear Triple H's point of view. He knows that Triple H is watching backstage, and calls him out so he can hear what he has to say on this matter. Triple H shows up, and says that everybody showed up thinking they would see the triumphant return of Austin as WWF Champion, but they are all wrong. He says it might piss the fans off, but it pisses The Rock, Austin and Vince off even more. He asks Vince if he has figured out that he cannot get the job done no matter what he does, as he will always come out on top. Last night, Vince stuck his nose in his business and got his lights knocked out for it, and The Rock also did that and got broken ribs and internal bleeding. As for Austin, he crossed paths with him last night and got beat for it. Vince tells Triple H he wanted his opinion, and asks him if he wants to face The Rock or Austin at Survivor Series. Triple H tries to answer, but The Rock says "It doesn't matter what your opinion is!" Vince says Triple H is "the game" and the best to ever play the game, and says he wants to face both men on the same night at the same time at Survivor Series. Therefore, Triple H will be defending the WWF Championship against Austin and The Rock at Survivor Series in a Triple Threat Match.

Before the next match, Buh Buh Ray Dudley complains about people making fun of how he talks, then stares at Kane and says that he can at least talk, unlike Kane. He asks Kane if he has heard himself talk, and proceeds to mock him. Kane does not take to this very well and grabs him by the throat. D-Von punches Kane, and Kane strikes back at D-Von. This starts the next match.

X-Pac and Kane beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley). During the match, The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) show up and watch from ringside, siding with Kane and X-Pac. They distract Buh Buh Ray behind referee Mike Chioda's back, and that is enough to allow X-Pac and Kane to win with a choke slam. After the match, The Headbangers mock The Dudley Boyz, and this starts a post-match brawl between the two teams. Referees quickly mobilize to pull both teams apart.

Curtis Hughes and Howard Finkel are seen playing poker with The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw)...and losing.

The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly) demand a shot at the tag team titles from WWF Chairman Vince McMahon. McMahon says they do not exactly deserve them, but he gives it to them anyway.

The Big Boss Man shows up. He calls out Big Show, saying he knows he is in the back and that he has his personal problems with his father, but business is business and life is life. He does not feel sorry for his father, except for having a loser for a son. He tells Big Show to grow some balls and take his challenge for the WWF Hardcore Championship to see how hardcore he can be, as he kicked his ass one time and he looks forward to doing it again.

Michael Cole interviews The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. Moolah says this title victory has been a dream come true. This leads to Mae Young saying that Moolah is seventy years old, which in turns leads to an argument between Moolah and Mae Young. Moolah hands the Women's title to Cole, then knocks Mae Young to the floor when she dares Moolah to make her leave and also wanting a title shot. Officials have to pull both women apart.

Kevin Kelly interviews Big Show. He accepts The Big Boss Man's challenge for the WWF Hardcore Championship, saying he needs to put his personal issues aside and have something to focus on. He plans to put his hands around Boss Man's throat when he gets in the ring and snap him in half.

Test is seen entering the building.

We see footage of "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry's fourth sex therapy session with yet another sex therapist. He talks about his failures in previous sessions, then the sex therapist - an older woman - asks if he has ever had a non-sexual friendly enoucter and offers him a non-sexual hug. It backfires, as she takes a liking to Mark Henry.

Viscera beats The Godfather thanks to the distraction from Mideon. Before the match, it is announced that The Fabulous Moolah will defend the WWF Women's Championship against Mae Young this week on SmackDown.

Curtis Hughes and Howard Finkel are still losing to The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) at poker backstage.

Mankind is seen looking for The Rock backstage.

Mankind finds The Rock backstage. Later tonight, they will be defending the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly). The Rock is only concerned about the WWF Championship. Mankind says it is his turn to give back, and gives him a free copy of Have A Nice Day, and also tells him he won Mr. Rocko back from Val Venis. The Rock tells him to keep Mr. Rocko.

Chyna shows up, but she is not alone: Miss Kitty is dress much like Chyna and even has her hair died black. Chyna says she proved to the world that she can beat any man at any time last night, and that she is the only female Intercontinental Champion in the history of the WWF. She says that feels "pretty damn good," and that a lot of guys have a problem with that. She says she is a worthy champion, then issues an open challenge to any of the guys in the back, and if they can't handle the heat, they should get out of her kitchen. Suddenly, Chris Jericho shows up, and says he loves being in the business and being the absolute best in the business. He says he has never been ashamed to be a part of it until now, because Chyna is the biggest embarrassment the business have ever seen and is proof the business is in a downward spiral as it makes him absolutely sick. He says what used to be the second second most-important championship in wrestling is now in the hands of "an incompetent woman." He then goes on to say that the last shreds of dignity the title had were thrown away when the powers that be decided Chyna was championship material, and says the thought of her as a credible and believable champion is an idea even more ridiculously enhanced than Chyna's breasts are. He says he may not be Jeff Jarrett, and that she won't get any Good Housekeeping matches out of him, he would never hit a woman. He makes an exception for her, as he says that Chyna is not a woman is "a hideous, grotesque freak of nature" and he will beat the hell out of her to restore honor to the Intercontinental Championship. When he does, everyone will be chanting his name. As he says this, he turns his back towards Chyna, who blasts him with the Intercontinental Championship into the commentary table. An angry Jericho throws a temper tantrum, swinging a chair into the steel steps afterwards.

WAR ZONE

Test shows up with a trash can before the next match. Referee Jimmy Korderas tries to take it away from him, but Test shoves him before he is attacked by The British Bulldog.

Test beats The British Bulldog by disqualification after The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) run in and attack Test. After the match, The British Bulldog slams the trash can from earlier into Test before hitting him with a running powerslam.

Curtis Hughes loses his clothes as well as Howard Finkel to The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw).

Al Snow finds Mankind's autobiography in the trash.

Al Snow tells Mankind about finding his autobiography in the trash. Mankind thinks it is a joke, but Snow tells him that this is not the case.

Before the next match, Val Venis says the relationship between Al Snow and Mankind is the single most pathetic thing he has ever seen. Last night, Mankind found out first hand why he is the single fastst up-and-coming athlete in the history of the World Wrestling Federation, and if he wants to send Snow to derail "The Big Valbowski Express," then Snow might as well tie himself up and lie in the middle of the tracks so he can run him down.

Mankind is seen looking for The Rock.

Mankind confronts The Rock for throwing his book in the trash. The Rock says he doesn't know what Mankind is talking about, but Mankind says The Rock does nothing but take while all he does is give, then accuses him of pissing on everything he believes in before calling him a "self-centered, egotistical, self-righteous son-of-a-bitch" while saying "Piss on you." Mankind then says he does not want to know he exists, then says he will walk down the aisle one list time. After that, The Rock 'n Sock Connection is over.

Big Show finds out from a police officer that his father has passed away before the next match. Big Show retains the WWF Hardcore Championship against Big Show by forfeit when the tells the referee to give him the victory.

Howard Finkel is forced to accompany The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) to the ring before the next match.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw). During the match, the top rope - which is loose - comes down. Faarooq hits Billy Gunn with the loose turnbuckle at one point, but it only nets him a near-fall. Later on, Howard Finkel leaves a steel chair on the apron, but Billy Gunn uses it against Bradshaw to get the win. After the match, The Acoltyes berate Howard Finkel and give him a wedgie as they take him to the back.

In the locker room bathroom, The Acoltyes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) continue to give Howard Finkel a hard time.

Michael Cole interviews The New Brood (Jeff and Matt Hardy). Matt says they are not The New Brood anymore and that they are The Hardy Boyz again. Suddenly, Edge and Christian show up, this time from the aisle and Christian tells The Hardys to take it easy as they are not here to fight. Edge says the Terri Runnels Invitational could have gone either way, but last night, the fans gave them a standing ovation. The fans give them one now, since all four of them worked their asses off. They have come here tonight out of respect, and say it was an honor. Both teams shake hands, then Terri Runnels shows up with Gangrel. Gangrel says the four of them deserve a big congratulations, but says he deserves some congratulations too, as while they were sleeping off the beatings that they gave each other at the hotel, he was up all night and he was the only one who scored. Edge, Christian and The Hardys all attack Gangrel. Terri Runnels is smiling as referees restore order., then Terri leaves with The Hardy Boyz.

We see GTV footage of The Big Boss Man, telling somebody "That was an Oscar-winning performance" and that Big Show "fell for it, hook, line and sinker." Turns out the person he is talking to is the police officer who told Big Show that his father passed away, and he mocks Big Show while laughing with Boss Man. Boss Man hands him some money, then they both leave the room.

Mankind shows up without his half of the WWF Tag Team Championships or his mask before the next match.

The Hollys (Hardcore and Crash Holly) beat The Rock and Mankind for the WWF Tag Team Championships after Mankind refuses to help The Rock and Triple H hits The Rock with a Pedigree after Hardcore Holly grabs at referee Earl Hebner. The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) are seen watching the match from the back as Billy Gunn has a cut on his forehead addressed by a doctor. After the match, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin chases Triple H into the ring, and The Rock hits Triple H with a Rock Bottom. The Rock goes for The People's Elbow, but Austin stops him and hits Triple H with a Stone Cold Stunner.

After the show goes off the air, The Rock leaves the ring and walks up the aisle with the WWF Championship while "Stone Cold" Steve Austin flips The Rock off and drinks a beer. Austin gets Triple H back into the ring , but Triple H proceeds to hammer Austin and push referee Earl Hebner away. Austin fights back and delivers another Stone Cold Stunner to Triple H before daring The Rock to get in the ring with him. Austin then forces Hebner into the corner after leaving a beer for Triple H, then Triple H gets up and picks up the beer. Triple H gets on the middle rope, drinks the beer, flips everyone off and hits Triple H with another Stunner. Austin and Hebner enjoy a beer together, then Triple H gets up again and confronts Earl Hebner before knocking the beer out of his hands. Triple H then pushes Hebner, but Hebner pushes back, slings the beer at him and yells "Fuck you!" at Triple H. Austin hits Triple H with a Stunner, then raises Hebner's hand into the air. As Austin and Hebner head to the back, Austin turns around and sees Triple H flipping him off with both hands. Austin runs back into the ring and hits him with two Stunners when the first one fails to knock him out. Triple H gets up yet again, and Austin hands him another beer. Triple H thinks Austin is going to stun him again, and the crowd chants "Drink the beer!" Triple H takes the beer and drinks it, then shakes Austin's hand before eating another Stunner which sends him tumbling out of the ring.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for October 7, 1999

This week, Robert James Marella, better known as Gorilla Monsoon, passed away at the age of 62.

Kane and X-Pac beat Mideon and Viscera after Kane tags himself in. After the match, Kane and X-Pac argue, then they are attacked by The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw).

Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock. He says The British Bulldog is nothing to him, and says his bark is similar to that of a small dog. At No Mercy, he will whip Bulldog's ass and he will do nothing and like it. He then addresses Val Venis, saying he does not impress him by sticking Mr. Rocko in his pants or by making adult movies. Tonight, he will play movie director, let him see first-hand the unedited, un-cut version of him laying the smackdown on his candy ass.

We see a miniature WWF ring full of mud followed by a door with a sign saying "Warning: Poisonous Snakes" backstage. Mankind then thanks The Rock as he heads backstage.

Lilian Garcia interviews Mankind. Mankind thinks that The Rock is fighting his battles for him, and says that is not what friends do. He will challenge The British Bulldog for later tonight.

Hardcore Holly beats "Road Dogg" Jesse James thanks to the constant interference of Crash Holly. After the match, Road Dogg and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn fight the Hollys in the ring, and knock them out of the ring quickly.

We see footage from "Sexual Chocolate' Mark Henry's first sex therapy session. Mark reveals that he had his first sexual encounter was with his sister when he was eight years old, and that the last time he had sex with her was the day before yesterday.

Jeff Jarrett and Miss Kitty show up. Jarrett gets in the mud wrestling ring, and says he has found a place for the women of the WWF: mud wrestling. After what happened on Raw, the mud ring is the only place women should be wrestling. He then announces that Miss Kitty will be wrestling in the mud, and since the women of the WWF are "obsessed with their cleavage," the only way to win is by ripping the opponent's top off. He tells Miss Kitty that she has been apologizing for the last few days, and if she wants to get back on his good side, she cannot back out. He also has words for Chyna: there will be no backing out of the Good Housekeeping Match at No Mercy, because he will show no mercy.

Terry Taylor interviews The British Bulldog, who says he only cares about the WWF Championship. He does not care if The Rock lives or dies, he does not care about WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon, and he does not care about Mankind. If he has to cripple him to get a title shot, he will do it. Bulldog is suddenly attacked my Mankind, and referees and officials have to pull Mankind off The Bulldog.

We see a room backstage with poisonous snakes under glass cases.

Before the next match, Terri Runnels shows up and announces that the third round of the Terri Runnels Invitational will be a Texas Tornado Rules Match.

The New Brood (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat Edge and Christian to win the third round of the Terri Runnels Invitational in a Texas Torando Match. Edge and Christian still have a 2-1 lead.

Val Venis is seen pulling Mr. Rocko out of his crotch.

Jeff Jarrett shows up again. He says there is just one other person who he wants to get a closer look at the mud match, a woman who brings honor and dignity to the women of the WWF: Ivory. Ivory shows up, then Jeff Jarrett brings out Miss Kitty. When then find out Ivory is Miss Kitty's opponent.

Ivory beats Miss Kitty in a mud wrestling match after ripping Miss Kitty's top off. After the match, Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah show up, and Jarrett sends them both into the mud ring before calling them "two old, fat sows wallowing in the mud." Suddenly, Chyna shows up, sits on the steps leading to the mud ring, and kicks Jarrett into the mud ring.

Dok Hendrix interviews WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, who says Stephanie McMahon is getting better but still suffers from amnesia. The wedding between Stephanie and Test is postponed until she recovers. When asked when he has the comments The British Bulldog has made out as of late, Shane simply walks away.

Mankind beats The British Bulldog by disqualification. During the match, Bulldog ducks a Mandible Claw, causing Mankind to accidentally apply the hold to referee Mike Chioda. Bulldog then whips Mankind into Chioda, ending the match. After the match, Bulldog attacks Mankind with the steel steps, then both men brawl in the crowd.

We get another look at the room with the poisonous snakes, then we see "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Jim Ross on a hunting trip in footage from earlier this week. Austin shoots at a pumpkin with a photograph of Triple H taped to it with a hunting rifle with a scope. Austin says he is trying to relax, but he cannot because of Triple H and the payback he wants to give him to him. He says Triple H will feel what he has been feeling for the last two months when he was sitting at home, and that nobody does payback better than him. Triple H really has his attention, and says that No Mercy is not a game and that the WWF Championship will come back to him. He refuses to give Triple H any mercy.

Triple H enters the room full of poisonous snakes, and opens one of the snake tanks.

Michael Cole is the sole man on commentary due to Jerry "The King" Lawler "checking on" Miss Kitty backstage. It is also announced that Droz underwent surgery to stabilize and realign his spine after dislocating two vertebrae in his neck in a match earlier this week. However, a prognosis will not be known for days.

Big Show beats The Big Boss Man by disqualification after Boss Man hits Big Show with his nightstick. After the match, Boss Man tries to handcuff Big Show, but the handcuffs do not fit and Boss Man ends up getting choke slammed.

Triple H is in the poisonous snake room. He apologizes for what he did to Jim Ross, then says that while he is not a hunter like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, he is a good trapper and that he is not afraid of rattlesnakes, especially Austin. He says the best way to kill a rattlesnake is to cut the head off, but that is too good for Austin. He plans to one-up that at No Mercy, and as he places a snake in a bag and ties the bag up, he says that Austin is all show and that all that noise is just a smokescreen, as Austin is scared. After he lays Austin down with the Pedigree, he will finish what he started at No Mercy. He then takes a sledgehammer and smashes the bag with it after he says he will say goodbye to Austin one last time, before stomping on the snake.

Triple H shows up with the bloodied bag containing the dead snake. He says that one week from Sunday, he will hurt "Stone Cold" Steve Austin even worse than he did the snake. He says that Austin will be headed back to Texas in a bodybag after No Mercy.

Terry Taylor tries to interview Triple H, who leaves. He proceeds to interview Val Venis, who says The Rock should be happy he is receiving a little extra exposure due to him and Mr. Rocko, and he plans to take The Rock to "planet Reality," as while The Rock is great, he has not faced the greatest. He says that when The Rock looks into his eyes, he will realize without a shadow of a doubt that he is facing one of the greatest up-and-coming athletes in the WWF today. Suddenly, Mankind attacks Venis, and Mankind is then attacked by The British Bulldog. Referees and officials have to restore order when Venis and Bulldog gang up on Mankind.

We see footage from during the break where The Rock passed by Mankind, who is being checked on by two referees and Sgt. Slaughter. Mankind tells The Rock to win just one time for "the Micker." The Rock then asks Mankind "Who's the Micker?"

The Rock beats Val Venis. During the match, Mankind shows up and tries to hit Venis with a steel chair, but ends up hitting The Rock instead. Mankind gets the Mandible Claw on Venis, but The Rock hits Mankind and Venis with separate Rock Bottoms. After the match, The Rock and Mankind argue.

Chris Jericho beats "Road Dogg" Jesse James by disqualification after Road Dogg tosses referee Earl Hebner out of the ring. Right after the match begins, Hardcore and Crash Holly show up and guest on commentary. After the match, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn pulls out a table and sends it to Road Dogg, who tries to powerbomb Jericho through it as he sets it up. Hardcore and Crash get in the ring and powerbomb Road Dogg through it instead, then proceed to beat up Billy Gunn. Curtis Hughes helps Chris Jericho to the back.

Lilian Garcia interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon. Due to The British Bulldog's recent actions of screwing The Rock out of the WWF Championship again, he makes a WWF Championship match where The British Bulldog will face Triple H for the title. Chyna will not be allowed in Triple H's corner, and Triple H has been fined $25,000 for putting his hands on the referee earlier this week on Raw. He also makes The Rock the special guest referee for the match.

Mankind shows up wearing his "Rock 'n Sock Connection" jacket. Last night, he shared one of the greatest celebrations of unity and camaraderie last Monday on Raw, and he was damn proud to be a part of it. The crowd chants "Rock 'n sock." Mankind gives a special thanks to the dozens - and dozens - of his fans for making it all happen, but says there was one man who tried to poop on their party by taking something that did not belong to him: Val Venis. Val Venis shows up, and tells Mankind he has two beautiful women in the back and he is a busy man, and that it is not his birthday. Mankind says he knows what Val Venis has in his pants, and he both wants and needs it. He then says he will turn his back, and tells him to whip it out and give it to him. Val Venis says he does not swing that way. Mankind says that what he is looking for is a few inches long, is white and has a big, beautiful head on it, and tells him to whip it out and place it in his hands, or else he will reach into his pants, whip it out and put it in his mouth. Val Venis says he had no idea Mankind was like that, and says he only putts from one side of the green. Mankind has to show him the GTV footage from Monday which shows Val Venis finding Mr. Rocko and stuffing it in his pants. Val Venis says that was a joke for all the guys in the back, but Mankind says he and The Rock does not appreciate his sense of humor, and says The Rock wants Mr. Rocko back. Venis gets out of the ring as Mankind grabs at his crotch and apologizes, saying he did not know that Mr. Rocko meant that much to him, and says he will head back to the back and find Mr. Rocko. Mankind then says that if Venis does not deliver Mr. Rocko, he will deliver Mr. Socko.

Triple H and Chyna are looking for WWF Chairman Vince McMahon backstage.

Triple H and Chyna confront WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, and says Vince will not beat him. If Vince keeps finding new ways to screw him, he will find new ways to get out of them. He also tells him that "Stone Cold' Steve Austin will not beat him, either.

Lilian Garcia interviews The Rock, who says that if WWF Chairman Vince McMahon wants to give him the consolation prize by making him special guest referee for a WWF Championship match like it's Let's Make A Deal, then he will open door number 2 and shove Vince's roody poo candy ass right through it. In due time, he will become WWF Champion, but until then, he will call the match down the middle. He says that Triple H and The British Bulldog can beat the crap out of each other, and The British Bulldog can also bend down while Triple H sticks his three-inch nose straight up Bulldog's candy ass.

Edge and Christian beat The New Brood (Jeff and Matt Hardy) in the first march of a best-of-five series known as the "Terri Runnels Invitational," where whoever wins best three out of five will earn $100,000 and the managerial services of Terri Runnels herself. Terri Runnels guests on commentary as referee Jimmy Korderas ejects Gangrel from ringside before the beginning of the match, and explains the Terri Runnels Invitational series.

Heather Kozar, who guest stars on Shasta McNasty tonight after SmackDown goes off the air, is seen in the audience.

Terry Taylor interviews The British Bulldog, who thanks WWF Chairman Vince McMahon for sticking to his word and giving him a WWF Championship match against Triple H. He tells The Rock to stay out of his way.

Mankind tells The Rock about the situation with Val Venis and Mr. Rocko. The Rock offers to high-five Mankind, but when Mankind goes for it, The Rock threatens to slap him.

During the break, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen having a conversation with WWF co-owner Shane McMahon backstage.

Droz and Prince Albert guest on commentary for the next match.

Big Show beats D'Lo Brown by disqualification. During the match, Prince Albert leaves commentary, and waits until Big Show tosses D'Lo Brown out of the ring to go after Big Show. Big Show catches Albert as he comes down from the top rope, but Big Show grabs him by the neck. Albert kicks Big Show in the groin, but Big Show fights back and choke slams him after all. Droz then leaves the commentary table and attacks D'Lo Brown. Suddenly, "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry runs in and attacks Droz to save D'Lo, but when D'Lo gets up, he wants nothing to do with Mark Henry. Mark Henry grabs the microphone and tells D'Lo Brown he has something to get off his chest, and admits that he is a sex addict and that he has lost his fiancee, thousands of dollars from flying people to his house, and lost his best friend in D'Lo Brown. He says that even his mom is seeing him admit to this, as well as all the people in his hometown and where he lives. He starts crying, as he thinks everybody is laughing at his pain. He says that he wakes up in the morning and thinks about sex and things that he has never thought about before. He even says that at lunch, he thinks about sex. He says that he gets on base more times than Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa combined. He knows he has a long way to go, and that he needs help. He then leaves the ring. D'Lo Brown retains the WWF European Championship.

In footage from yesterday, Test and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon look at potential bridal gowns...or rather, Stephanie is looking thorough the catalog while Test is watching a game, and tells Stephanie that he isn't marrying a gown, he's marrying a girl, and that she will look beautiful regardless of what she wears.

Before the next match, Buh Buh Ray is seen wearing The Rock's "Rock 'n Sock Connection" jacket. When the match begins, Stevie Richards tells Mankind about this backstage.

X-Pac and Kane beat The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) and The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) in a Triple Threat Tag Team Elimination Match. The Acolytes are disqualified after Faarooq shoves referee Mike Chioda as he has X-Pac in the corner. After the match, The Acoltyes return and whip Kane into the steel steps before hitting X-Pac with a two-man powerbomb. Heather Kozar is seen in the front row again along with Cindy Margolis.

Mankind confronts Buh Buh Ray over wearing the other "Rock 'n Sock Connection" jacket. Buh Buh Ray tells him that if he wants it so badly, he'll have to come and get it.

Jeff Jarrett shows up with a shopping cart full of household objects such as pans, a mop, a vaccum cleaner and an ironing board (among other things) before telling Chyna she will get her rematch for the WWF Intercontinental Championship, but it will be the "Good Housekeeping" way. He tells Chyna she will understand the role of a woman, because he will beat her with every household appliance known to woman. As a little demonstration, he calls out any women who wants to "get their carpet cleaned" so he can give them "the old oatmeal demonstration." All of a sudden, he notices Cindy Margolis again, and asks if she learned a few weeks ago that a woman's place is in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant. He also notices Heather Kozar, and dares them to come to the ring for a 2-on-1 handicap match. All of a sudden, as Cindy and Heather climb over the guardrail, Debra shows up. The Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young, Jacqueline, Lilian Garcia and Janet - all the women that Jarrett have put in the Figure Four Leg Lock - also show up and surround the ring. As Jarrett fights them off, Chyna gets in the ring and clotheslines Jarrett out of the ring, where all the other women hit Jarrett with brooms, pans and rolling pins before chasing him to the back. Moolah and Mae Young then grab Jerry "The King" Lawler.

Mankind tells The Rock what happened with the Rock 'n Sock Connection jacket. The Rock says it's okay, but Mankind tells him to stay put as he has work to do.

Terry Taylor interviews head of WWF security Jim Dotson, who says he did not deserve any abuse from "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman, as he has protected all the Superstars for years, including Blackman. Suddenly, Blackman crushes Dotson with the chain link fence in the background and stomps him in the back.

Mankind calls out Buh Buh Ray, telling him to either return the jacket or have it taken from him by force, as he will not be responsible for what The Rock does to him if he does not get it back. The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) show up from the side of the ramp, and as Buh Buh Ray and Mankind wrestle, Val Venis shows up with Mr. Rocko on his right hand. Mankind pulls out Mr. Socko, then D-Von grabs at Mankind's leg. Stevie Richards gets in the ring and hits Buh Buh Ray with a Stevie Kick behind the referee's back as Val Venis guests on commentary for a few seconds and Mankind gets The Rock's jacket back from Buh Buh Ray. Mankind then calls out Val Venis, who gets in the ring and makes it clear that he respects him, as nobody has done more for the business than him. He says that if it were not for him coming 20 feet down from the cell and destroying his body - among other things - his paycheck would not be what it is today. He gives Mr. Rocko back, but tells Mankind to close his eyes. He says he knew Mankind was a little crazy, but now he just wants to feel his nuts.Val Venis then grabs at Mankind's crotch with a testicular claw with Mr. Rocko, and Stevie Richard tries to pull him off. The Dudley Boyz come back, attack Stevie Richards, then attack Mankind before tearing up The Rock's jacket. Val Venis then walks away with Mr. Rocko.

Before the next match, The Rock mentions that The British Bulldog's home country of the United Kingdom has an anthem called "God Save The Queen." The Rock then says that on his show, they have an anthem called "God Save My Roody Poo Candy Ass." When The British Bulldog shows up, he confronts The Rock and pokes him in the chest, which leads to The Rock beating him up and punching him out of the ring.

The British Bulldog vs. Triple H for the WWF Championship ends in a no-contest. During the match, The Rock does not seem to care about either participant in the match - or the match itself, as he guests on commentary briefly - and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen watching the match from the locker room. Eventually, Triple H gets fed up with The Rock when he claps at him during a pinfall, and fights him only to get a Rock Bottom. The British Bulldog then goes for a pinfall as The Rock guests on commentary again, then The Rock counts the pinfall and speaks on a microphone at the same time, saying "One...two...it doesn't matter if The Rock counts to three!" The British Bulldog then grabs the WWF Championship and tries to hi The Rock with it, but The Rock sees it coming, punches him, grabs the WWF Championship and hits both Bulldog and Triple H in the head with it. After stomping Triple H a few times, he hits The Bulldog with The People's Elbow (with an impressive slide right before the elbow) before posing with the WWF Championship on the top rope and running off with it. When Triple H asks for the WWF Championship, timekeeper Mark Yeaton tells him that The Rock ran off with it. Triple H beats the crap out of Mark Yeaton, then heads to the back. Backstage, Triple H looks for The Rock, and punches people out as he does. He eventually finds The Rock, but in this case, The Rock finds him and hits him from the side with the WWF Championship. The British Bulldog then runs in and brawls with The Rock, and they both take it outside. Triple H gets the WWF Championship back after The Rock drops it, then heads to his locker room. He knocks on the door and asks Chyna to open the door when he finds out is is locked, and instead of Chyna, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin comes out and stomps a mudhole in Triple H. Triple H retains the WWF Championship.
