This week, Robert James Marella, better known as Gorilla Monsoon, passed away at the age of 62.
Kane and X-Pac beat Mideon and Viscera after Kane tags himself in. After the match, Kane and X-Pac argue, then they are attacked by The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw).
Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock. He says The British Bulldog is nothing to him, and says his bark is similar to that of a small dog. At No Mercy, he will whip Bulldog's ass and he will do nothing and like it. He then addresses Val Venis, saying he does not impress him by sticking Mr. Rocko in his pants or by making adult movies. Tonight, he will play movie director, let him see first-hand the unedited, un-cut version of him laying the smackdown on his candy ass.
We see a miniature WWF ring full of mud followed by a door with a sign saying "Warning: Poisonous Snakes" backstage. Mankind then thanks The Rock as he heads backstage.
Lilian Garcia interviews Mankind. Mankind thinks that The Rock is fighting his battles for him, and says that is not what friends do. He will challenge The British Bulldog for later tonight.
Hardcore Holly beats "Road Dogg" Jesse James thanks to the constant interference of Crash Holly. After the match, Road Dogg and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn fight the Hollys in the ring, and knock them out of the ring quickly.
We see footage from "Sexual Chocolate' Mark Henry's first sex therapy session. Mark reveals that he had his first sexual encounter was with his sister when he was eight years old, and that the last time he had sex with her was the day before yesterday.
Jeff Jarrett and Miss Kitty show up. Jarrett gets in the mud wrestling ring, and says he has found a place for the women of the WWF: mud wrestling. After what happened on Raw, the mud ring is the only place women should be wrestling. He then announces that Miss Kitty will be wrestling in the mud, and since the women of the WWF are "obsessed with their cleavage," the only way to win is by ripping the opponent's top off. He tells Miss Kitty that she has been apologizing for the last few days, and if she wants to get back on his good side, she cannot back out. He also has words for Chyna: there will be no backing out of the Good Housekeeping Match at No Mercy, because he will show no mercy.
Terry Taylor interviews The British Bulldog, who says he only cares about the WWF Championship. He does not care if The Rock lives or dies, he does not care about WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon, and he does not care about Mankind. If he has to cripple him to get a title shot, he will do it. Bulldog is suddenly attacked my Mankind, and referees and officials have to pull Mankind off The Bulldog.
We see a room backstage with poisonous snakes under glass cases.
Before the next match, Terri Runnels shows up and announces that the third round of the Terri Runnels Invitational will be a Texas Tornado Rules Match.
The New Brood (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat Edge and Christian to win the third round of the Terri Runnels Invitational in a Texas Torando Match. Edge and Christian still have a 2-1 lead.
Val Venis is seen pulling Mr. Rocko out of his crotch.
Jeff Jarrett shows up again. He says there is just one other person who he wants to get a closer look at the mud match, a woman who brings honor and dignity to the women of the WWF: Ivory. Ivory shows up, then Jeff Jarrett brings out Miss Kitty. When then find out Ivory is Miss Kitty's opponent.
Ivory beats Miss Kitty in a mud wrestling match after ripping Miss Kitty's top off. After the match, Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah show up, and Jarrett sends them both into the mud ring before calling them "two old, fat sows wallowing in the mud." Suddenly, Chyna shows up, sits on the steps leading to the mud ring, and kicks Jarrett into the mud ring.
Dok Hendrix interviews WWF co-owner Shane McMahon, who says Stephanie McMahon is getting better but still suffers from amnesia. The wedding between Stephanie and Test is postponed until she recovers. When asked when he has the comments The British Bulldog has made out as of late, Shane simply walks away.
Mankind beats The British Bulldog by disqualification. During the match, Bulldog ducks a Mandible Claw, causing Mankind to accidentally apply the hold to referee Mike Chioda. Bulldog then whips Mankind into Chioda, ending the match. After the match, Bulldog attacks Mankind with the steel steps, then both men brawl in the crowd.
We get another look at the room with the poisonous snakes, then we see "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Jim Ross on a hunting trip in footage from earlier this week. Austin shoots at a pumpkin with a photograph of Triple H taped to it with a hunting rifle with a scope. Austin says he is trying to relax, but he cannot because of Triple H and the payback he wants to give him to him. He says Triple H will feel what he has been feeling for the last two months when he was sitting at home, and that nobody does payback better than him. Triple H really has his attention, and says that No Mercy is not a game and that the WWF Championship will come back to him. He refuses to give Triple H any mercy.
Triple H enters the room full of poisonous snakes, and opens one of the snake tanks.
Michael Cole is the sole man on commentary due to Jerry "The King" Lawler "checking on" Miss Kitty backstage. It is also announced that Droz underwent surgery to stabilize and realign his spine after dislocating two vertebrae in his neck in a match earlier this week. However, a prognosis will not be known for days.
Big Show beats The Big Boss Man by disqualification after Boss Man hits Big Show with his nightstick. After the match, Boss Man tries to handcuff Big Show, but the handcuffs do not fit and Boss Man ends up getting choke slammed.
Triple H is in the poisonous snake room. He apologizes for what he did to Jim Ross, then says that while he is not a hunter like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, he is a good trapper and that he is not afraid of rattlesnakes, especially Austin. He says the best way to kill a rattlesnake is to cut the head off, but that is too good for Austin. He plans to one-up that at No Mercy, and as he places a snake in a bag and ties the bag up, he says that Austin is all show and that all that noise is just a smokescreen, as Austin is scared. After he lays Austin down with the Pedigree, he will finish what he started at No Mercy. He then takes a sledgehammer and smashes the bag with it after he says he will say goodbye to Austin one last time, before stomping on the snake.
Triple H shows up with the bloodied bag containing the dead snake. He says that one week from Sunday, he will hurt "Stone Cold" Steve Austin even worse than he did the snake. He says that Austin will be headed back to Texas in a bodybag after No Mercy.
Terry Taylor tries to interview Triple H, who leaves. He proceeds to interview Val Venis, who says The Rock should be happy he is receiving a little extra exposure due to him and Mr. Rocko, and he plans to take The Rock to "planet Reality," as while The Rock is great, he has not faced the greatest. He says that when The Rock looks into his eyes, he will realize without a shadow of a doubt that he is facing one of the greatest up-and-coming athletes in the WWF today. Suddenly, Mankind attacks Venis, and Mankind is then attacked by The British Bulldog. Referees and officials have to restore order when Venis and Bulldog gang up on Mankind.
We see footage from during the break where The Rock passed by Mankind, who is being checked on by two referees and Sgt. Slaughter. Mankind tells The Rock to win just one time for "the Micker." The Rock then asks Mankind "Who's the Micker?"
The Rock beats Val Venis. During the match, Mankind shows up and tries to hit Venis with a steel chair, but ends up hitting The Rock instead. Mankind gets the Mandible Claw on Venis, but The Rock hits Mankind and Venis with separate Rock Bottoms. After the match, The Rock and Mankind argue.
WWF co-owner - now chairman - Vince McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. He introduces the fans to the man who claims to be the next WWF Champion and the man to win the first-ever Six-Pack Challenge to win the title at Unforgiven this Sunday: Triple H. Triple H and Chyna show up. Now that he is back in control of the WWF, being called an asshole is not good for Triple H. The headache he gave him on Raw is nothing compared to "the full-blown migraine" he will give him tonight. He doesn't want Triple H to think he holds a grudge just because he attempted and threatened bodily harm on every one of his family members, attempted to manhandle his son, soon-to-be son-in-law and wife, and busted him open. Instead of holding a grudge, he will get even, and rather than wait until this Sunday's Six-Pack Challenge, he will have face all those opponents individually. He will face The Rock in a Brahma Bullrope Match, The Undertaker is a Casket Match, Mankind in a Boiler Room Brawl, Kane in an Inferno Match, and Big Show in a Choke Slam Challenge Match. In fairness, he does not have to win all the matches to keep his place at Unforgiven, saying three out of five will do it. An angry Triple H lashes out at Vince, but Vince tells him to save his aggression for his Choke Slam Challenge Match with Big Show, which happens next.
Big Show beats Triple H in a Choke Slam Challenge, being able to choke slam Triple H before he can do the same to Big Show. After the match, Big Show choke slams Triple H again. Harvey Wippleman is the referee for this match. Triple H is 0-1 in his challenge.
We see footage from outside the arena from earlier today where the referees are on strike. The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) attack Teddy Long with garbage cans to send a message to The Acoltyes (Faarooq and Bradshaw), saying they've made it personal.
Stanley Cup champion Brett Hull is in the audience with his son.
Lilian Garcia interviews Chris Jericho, who says he has challenged "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock to a First Blood Match because he has proven week after week that he, not Shamrock, is the world's most dangerous man, and he will not wait until Sunday to see his blood and end his career. When his blood is shed all across the ring, it had better not get on his clothes as he guarantees that everyone will not see his own blood tonight.
D'Lo Brown guests on commentary for the next match.
X-Pac beats "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry by count-out. "Doctor" Tom Prichard is the referee for this match. "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry retains the WWF European Championship. After the match, D'Lo Brown go at it near the commentary table, and Henry sends D'Lo into the ring post.
Lilian Garcia interviews Luna Vachon, who likes to thanks Ivory forgiving a shot at the WWF Women's Championship as she finally gets her opportunity to take the title and put it around her waist where it belongs. He then asks one more favor of Ivory: make it a hardcore match.
Jeff Jarrett and Miss Kitty show up. Debra is conspicuous by her absence. Jarrett introduces himself and says he is a man's man and that this is a man's world. He says men are dominant and women are weak, and when he bitch slaps Chyna at Unforgiven, she will understand reality. Jarrett then says that Debra's "malnourished puppies" are at home, licking their wounds, because she entered his world and got the Figure Four Leg Lock for it. Jarrett then eyes a female stage manager at ringside who is telling him to wrap his promo up, calls her a skank, and asks if she is telling him what to do. He gets out of the ring, tosses her notes into the ring and tells her to get in there and do what women are designed to do: clean crap up. After she gets in, Jarrett attempts to lock in the Figure Four Leg Lock when Chyna runs in and hits Jarrett in the back of the head with a frying pan. He then places a frying pan and soup ladle in his hands before dressing him in the apron before taking Jarrett's wrestling shorts and putting them on. Chyna tells Jarrett that at Unforgiven, he will be seeing who is wearing the pants as well as his Intercontinental title.
Triple H beats Kane in an Inferno match. . The Brooklyn Brawler is the referee in this match. During the match, X-Pac is seen lying on the stage, and Kane notices this as well as The Undertaker, Mideon and Viscera approaching X-Pac, who is bloodied. Kane goes up to the top rope, jumps over the flames and goes after Mideon and Viscera, who set Kane on fire, ending the match. After the match, Kane checks on X-Pac. Triple H is now 1-1 in his challenge.
Kane is distraught after the pain that X-Pac has been put through. Lilian Garcia is then seen interviewing The Undertaker, Big Show, The Undertaker, Mideon and Viscera. The Undertaker asks Big Show if he warned him about what would happen if he betrayed him. He says that Kane is now sitting there like a sniveling little idiot holding X-Pac in his hands. The Undertaker says their job is done, and that it is time to venture off into the night. Lilian Garcia reminds The Undertaker about his Casket Match about Triple H, but The Undertaker says nobody orders him to do something he does not want to do, and that there will be no Casket Match. WWF Chairman Vince McMahon shows up and confronts him about it, and says he will not be in the Six-Pack Challenge at Unforgiven. The Undertaker then says he may not be participating in anything, and tells Vince to deal with that.
Before the next match, The Rock says Triple H runs his mouth about how he is "the game," and tells him to go back to the drawing board because his game plan absolutely sucks. He also has a game of his own: earlier tonight, he was talking to a couple of athletes by the name of Mike Modano and Brett Hull, and he told them that tonight, he will whip Triple H's ass all over the arena in the first-ever Brahma Bull Match, but he wanted to do something a little extra special for Dallas, Texas. He asked if he could borrow the Stanley Cup, and after they agreed, he says that this game is special as he will take the Cup, hold it up to the light, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways and stick it up Triple H's candy ass. Mankind shows up, and tells The Rock that he does not know a lot about Lord Stanley, but when he heard The Rock needed a cup, he got him one. He then pulls out a protective cup, as he speaks for everyone when he says that "The People's Jewels" must be protected so that one day, we can have a "Rocky Jr." running around. He has to disagree with him on one thing: he wants to see the Brahma Bull Match, but he says people want to see his Boiler Room Brawl match more. He says he knows every inch of the boiler room, and what he has there is a special metal pipe. He plans to take that metal pipe, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways and...hit him right over the head with it, due to The Rock starting a hole through him. Suddenly, "Road Dogg" Jesse James is seen for the frist time since Chris Jericho injured his back five weeks ago. He tells The Rock and Mankind are overlooking the fact that they are the WWF Tag Team Champions, and that means a little something to him. He says he's got registry at The Smackdown Hotel, but he is not sleeping single as nobody wants to see a Brahma Bullrope Match or a Boiler Room Brawl, but they do want to see a tag team match. He brings out "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn, and for the first time since earlier this year, Road Dogg and Mr. Ass are back together as The New Age Outlaws. He then tells The Rock to reach down and see if he an find his family jewels. Mankind says he is a big fan of The New Age Outlaws, but if they want to challenge them for the tag titles, The Rock 'n Sock Connection back down from no one.
The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat The Rock and Mankind to win the WWF Tag Team Championships for the fourth time. This is the fourth reign for Road Dogg and the seventh for Billy Gunn. Interestingly, the referee for this match is Jimmy Korderas, even though the regular referees are on strike. After the match, The New Age Outlaws reintroduce themselves.
WWF Chairman Vince McMahon tells Mideon and Viscera that tonight's Casket Match will be a handicap match between them and Triple H. Meanwhile, Chyna tells Triple H to give up the challenge, but Triple H refuses to give up, and he says that he will not let Vince McMahon break him down.
Al Snow is waiting for someone backstage. He also finds out his watch is broken.
Triple H beats Mideon and Viscera in a 2-on-1 Handicap Casket Match after Viscera accidentally splashes Mideon, allowing Chyna to hit a confused Viscera with a low blow and Triple H to hit both Viscera and Mideon with Pedigrees before placing Mideon in the casket. At least, that is what Triple H thinks. After the match, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up and tells Triple H he has not won yet as he has to place Viscera in the casket as well.
Viscera and Mideon beat Triple H in a 2-on-1 Handicap Casket Match. Harvey Wippleman and The Brooklyn Brawler are the referees for this match. Triple H is now 1-2 in the Triple H Challenge.
Lilian Garcia interviews Ivory, who is concerned to get in the ring with Luna Vachon, saying she is crazy and that rules do not apply to her. At the same time, she has something to defend that has honor, dignity and class. She accepts Luna's challenge to a hardcore match at Unforgiven, as she is not willing to let Luna embarrass the title.
Before the next match, Hardcore Holly says that earlier this week on Raw, he did him and Pepper a favor by beating the hell out of The Big Boss Man, leaving him blind and senseless. He wants Al Snow to return the favor by coming down to the ring. Before he can say more, Snow shows up. This starts their match.
Hardcore Holly beats Al Snow. During the match, The Big Boss Man is seen backstage via the TitanTron, having attacked a dog handler while mocking the Rottweilers. After this, Crash Holly distracts Snow by trying to attack him, but even after Snow fights back, Hardcore Holly takes advantage. After the match, Boss Man shows up with a dog chain wrapped around his hand, and punches out both Hardcore Holly and Al Snow. He then pulls out a can of Alpo dog food, and tries to shove it down Snow's throat.
"Doctor" Tom Prichard is the referee for the next match: the Boiler Room Brawl between Triple H and Mankind. As soon as Triple H gets in the boiler room. Prichard immediately locks the door on him and Mankind immediately goes on the attack.
Triple H beats Mankind in a Boiler Room Brawl after Mankind tries to jump from 15 feet into the air only to pushed off and into a nearby table.
The British Bulldog looks for WWF Chairman Vince McMahon backstage.
Before the next match, Chris Jericho shows up dressed in Buffalo Sabres hockey gear, complete with helmet and hockey stick.
Chris Jericho beats "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock in a First Blood Match following multiple blows with a hockey stick and a top rope splash while still wearing hockey equipment, causing Shamrock to bleed internally. Harvey Wippleman is the referee for this match.
The British Bulldog talks with WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, saying tht that he was promised a shot at the WWF Championship Match. Bulldog is placed in the Six-Pack Challenge at Unforgiven, replacing The Undertaker. The Bulldog then says he wants to return the favor by being the special guest referee in the Brahma Bullrope Match between Triple H and The Rock. Vince makes it so.
Triple H beats The Rock in a Brahma Bullrope Match. During the match, Jeff Jarrett shows up from out of the crowd, hits her in the back of the head with a frying pan, places the frying pan in her hand and then applies the Figure Four Leg Lock on her as she is knocked out cold before retreating through the crowd as The British Bulldog, The Rock and Triple H are on the stage. Shortly after this, The British Bulldog clotheslines The Rock before hitting him with the running powerslam, despite having a confrontation with Triple H earlier in the match. Triple H hits the Pedigree to win the Triple H Challenge 3-2 and save his spot in the Six-Pack Challenge at Unforgiven. After the match, Bulldog and Triple H continue to attack The Rock.
Jim Ross is about to introduce Mankind to the ring when Triple H and Chyna show up. Triple H says there will be no celebration tonight, especially not as his expense. He says he has been screwed a million times, and he deserved this. Last night was his night, and again, he got screwed out of his crowning moment. Triple H says that right from the beginning, he earned the chance to be #1 contender for the WWF Championship, only to have it taken away from him and to have every obstacle thrown in his way. Every time, he rose to the occasion, but when he gets to SummerSlam, Jesse "The Body" Ventura would not even count his pinfalls. He asks if everyone was afraid since day one that he would be successful and become the man. He says it then came down to him and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and he felt he had his moment when he hit Austin with the Pedigree, but Mankind stole his thunder. He calls all that happened "a bunch of bullshit," and says that if there was one justification in last night, it is that he crippled Austin and he single-handedly maimed him to the point that he will never be the same man. He saw in Austin's eyes he was not only beaten, but done, and now he is watching the show on his back in a hospital bed with his leg up like a cheap prostitute. Triple H then says that Austin and Mankind are Jim Ross' "boys," and says Jim Ross is enjoying this and that he can see the smirk in his eyes. Triple H then says he is going to enjoy what he is about to do: break Jim Ross' arm. He tells Mankind to give him the WWF Championship, or he will break JR's arm like he did his leg. Mankind shows up, but Triple H tells him not to come any closer or he will break Jim Ross' arm. He says Mankind beat him and screwed him last night, and says paybacks are a bitch. Triple H says he wants a shot, and Mankind tells Triple H that he does not have to break Jim Ross' arm and that all he has to do is get a shot is ask. He tells Triple H that he has his shot at the title if he lets him go. Triple H lets Jim Ross go when Mankind implies that he has his word, then breaks Ross' arm anyway. Mankind checks on Jim Ross afterwards, then tells Triple H that since he broke JR's arm, he's breaking his promise, and Triple H is not getting his title shot. All of a sudden, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up as referees and EMTs check on Jim Ross, and Shane says he knows all about commitments and promises, and says Mankind will keep his. Since WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels is not in the building tonight, he orders Mankind to defend the title as co-owner of the World Wrestling Federation.
We see Jim Ross being placed in an ambulance as Mankind watches. Jim Ross gives the thumbs up, and Mankind leaves as the ambulance drives off.
Michael Cole replaces Jim Ross on commentary for the rest of the night.
Al Snow comes out of the ring and attacks "Road Dogg" Jesse James as he is still on the microphone, getting the next match started early.
"Road Dogg" Jesse James vs. Al Snow in a Hardcore Match ends in a no-contest. During the match, Chris Jericho shows up and brawls with Road Dogg after Road Dogg puts Snow through a tabel, and Road Dogg sends him to the back. After referee Tim White follows Road Dogg and Chris Jericho to the back, The Big Boss Man shows up, hits Al Snow in the head with his nightstick, then steals Pepper, whom Snow has brought to the ring in the pet taxi. Meanwhile, Road Dogg and Jericho are brawling in the back, and Al Snow runs backstage. The Big Boss Man is then seen with the pet taxi, and speeds off, successfully dognapping Pepper as Snow runs after Boss Man's car.
Al Snow is backstage, looking for Pepper. Crew members backstage have no idea where Pepper is, and Al Snow has no idea that The Big Boss Man has kidnapped his canine.
X-Pac and Kane guest on commentary for the next match. It is announced that Jim Ross has indeed suffered a broken arm after the attack from Triple H.
Big Show and The Undertaker retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) after X-Pac and Kane get involved in the match after Faarooq swings at Kane. The Undertaker lays out Kane, while Big Show choke slams X-Pac. (This match is the debut of new ring announcer Lilian Garcia, who is the first female ring announcer in the company since Mike McGuirk.)
Test is seen talking to Stephanie McMahon backstage. Test tells Stephanie that he has a surprise for here, and to wait for him as he gets it.
Three nights ago, two sports entertainers disappeared in the woods near Ames, Iowa while shooting a documentary. Yesterday afternnon, their footage was found. This footage is known as "The Blonde Bytch Project." The footage starts with Stevie Richards recording The Blue Meanie playing WWF Attitude on Sony PlayStation in front of his TV, and Stevie tells him that no matter how much he practices, he is still a loser. The Blue Meanie counters that when they had WWF In Your House and he was played as Ahmed Johnson, Stevie could not touch him. The Blue Meanie then decides to watch some television, and sees a commercial for The Blair Witch Project, saying it's not even a true story or a true legend. He then asks Stevie if he has heard about the legend of The Blonde Bytch, which supposedly took place in the woods of Ames, Iowa. He says they should get their cameras and dig up the dirt on this legend to see if it is real. Stevie Richards says he is up for it without hesitation, and The Blue Meanie accidentally runs him over as he gets up. (Before the next segment, Michael Cole announces that the next video in the series is supposed to air on the premiere episode of SmackDown, but it does not make it to air and the rest of "The Blonde Bytch Project" is pulled without explanation. Not surprisingly, it is never even brought up again.)
Test shows up, and ring announcer Lilian Garcia is introduced on commentary. Test says everybody knows he went through a lot in the last few months and especially last night, and he did it all for one reason only. He also says that if he would do it again, he would. He then says there is a time in every man's life when a man has to ask a few questions, and sometimes a man has to pop them. He asks Stephanie McMahon to come to the ring. Stephanie is smiling as she heads to the ring, After Test helps her to the ring, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up, saying he will not let him ruin her life and that the only way that their relationship will continue is over his dead body. Test says that can be arrange, and both men are about to get physical when Stephanie chews her brother Shane out, saying she loves Andrew (Test's real first name) more than anything else in the world and that he makes her happy, and says Shane does not care about her happiness or how she feels at all. She says that all her life, it was always about Shane and how he wanted her to be and act. She asks Shane why he cannot appreciate her as she really is, and asks why he would want to take this away from her. Test tells her to forget about Shane, and says he has a question for her. He gets down on one knee and produces a jewelry box with an engagement ring, and asks Stephanie "Will you marry me?" Stephanie tells Test she loves him, and says she needs some time, but she loves him. Stephanie and Test then hug and kiss, then Stephanie leaves the ring. Shane is not only smiling, but shaking his head at Test.
Backstage, Chris Jericho chews out ring announcer Howard Finkle for letting "Road Dogg" Jesse James attack him, saying he needs a champion and a warrior on his team who will stand up and fight for what he believes in and fight for Y2J. Jericho walks away, then Howard Finkel gives it some thought.
Jeff Jarrett, Debra and "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry show up. Jarrett says "We did it," and thanks Mark Henry for making the right career choice by presenting him with a gift: the WWF European Championship. Jarrett then thanks Debra, saying the plan was all her from start to finish, and since he is in a giving mood, he has a surprise for her. Being the Executive Director of Jarrett Enterprises, he decided Debra needed help in the form of her own personal assistant. Debra may have the puppies, but tonight, we have Miss Kitty. A blonde woman with a black top and skirt shows up and heads to the ring. Jarrett then says he can stand in the center of the ring and say that he is the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. He then announces that he has signed an open contract on the locker room , and if anybody thinks they have what it takes, all they have to do is sign on the dotted line for their chance at him and the Intercontinental title. After this, Mat's music plays, D'Lo Brown is seen attacking Meat backstage. Mark Henry is still waiting for Meat to come at the center of the ring, but D'Lo Brown shows up instead. This starts a match.
D'Lo Brown beats "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry by disqualification after Jeff Jarrett gets involved in the match. Jarrett, Debra, Miss Kitty and Mark Henry quickly retreat.
"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn finds Jeff Jarrett's open contract for a WWF Intercontinental Championship match, but cannot find a pen. Chyna is passing through, and Billy Gunn asks her for a pen. Billy Gunn tells her to stay by the door so he can find a pen, and leaves. Chyna pulls out a pen and signs the contract under Billy Gunn's nose, then walks away.

Before the next match, The Rock says that in about 30 seconds, Gangrel will get in the ring with his cup of blood, and he will take the cup, pour all the blood out, refill it with monkey piss, turn it sideways and stick it straight up his candy ass.
The Rock beats Gangrel after Edge and Christian chase after the rest of The New Brood (Jeff and Matt Hardy). After the match, The Rock talks about Triple H complaining about how he should be WWF Champion, then talks about how Mankind tries to save Jim Ross like it is supposed to impress somebody. He then goes on to say that all the talk about who is #1 contender for the WWF title is "the biggest bunch of cow shit he's ever seen." The Rock says they are holding their finger on him, and if "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and Gangrel knew their roles, shut their mouths and listened, they would knew that the fans are chanting his name. He says the fans want him, and now he must take matters into his own hands.
Ring announcer Howard Finkel is seen in the training room, telling himself he is a warrior and that he can do it. Whatever "it" is is not fully explained.
Kevin Kelly interviews Tori, who thinks that Ivory likes to humiliate other people. All she wants is the WWF Women's Championship. She proposes combining the two things Thursday night on SmackDown with an Evening Gown Match where she will be more than happy to strip Ivory of the title and that nasty dress she will probably be wearing.
Howard Finkel runs to the ring to The Ultimate Warrior's entrance theme and even shakes the ropes like Warrior. He then grabs the microphone and says Chris Jericho has come to the WWF to benefit everybody and make it a better place. He then says he believes in Jericho and applauds everything he has done thus far; however, there are a few simpletons in this organizations who do not get it, one of whom is "Road Dogg" Jesse James. He tells Road Dogg to do something more constructive than picking his nose and join him, as he wants him to know what Y2J is all about. Road Dogg shows up and tells Finkel his ass had better call somebody, and tells him he's damn wrong. He thinks this is a joke, but Howard Finkel tells Road Dogg he is a joke himself and that he is mad as hell and that he is not going to take it anymore. He shoves Road Dogg, who then asks if he has been "dipping into his fat sack." Finkel then says Road Dogg does not belive him, and tells him to "believe this again" before shoving. Road Dogg grabs Finkel by the collar and tells him that enough is enough, then Jericho shows up inside the ring after the lights go out and come back on for his entrance. Jericho then attacks Road Dogg in the ring - with Finkel nowhere to be seen - and hits him with two powerbombs before putting his foot on his chest, flexing his muscles and saying "Come on, baby!" Finkel is then seen applauding Jericho at ringside, and he and Jericho head to the ring.
Al Snow is seen backstage, distraught and heartbroken at the thought of Pepper having vanished.
"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn is seen looking for Chyna again. He runs into Triple H in the locker room, saying she is not here. Billy Gunn tells Triple H that if he sees her to tell her he is looking for her. After Gunn leaves, Triple H tells him not to look too hard as he just might find her.
Kevin Kelly - who announces that an update on the condition of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be reported on shortly - interviews Hardcore Holly, who says that Crash Holly is not the problem and that Crash Holly thinks he is "the #1 super heavyweight" around here. He says he is the "true super heavyweight" around here. He then issues an open challenge for "true super heavyweights," and tells Kevin Kelly that if he finds Crash to tell him that it's time to either nut up or shut up. By then, Crash Holly has already made it to the ring.
Hardcore Holly and Crash Holly brawl all the way to the outside of the arena.
Kevin Kelly reports that the prognosis is not good for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin after what the attack on him by Triple H after the main event of SummerSlam. He then interviews Mankind, who says that Triple H injuring Jim Ross was a pretty stupid thing to do in his quest to prove how much of a tough guy he is. He says the same thing about Triple H taking a sledgehammer to his knee as well as his attack on Austin, whom he says has single-handedly funded his retirement. He looked forward to having Jim Ross call his matches, and now that cannot be done. He says Triple H can dish it out, but tonight, he will see just how well he takes it.
Al Snow is seen sitting and rocking on the floor, absolutely distraught at the fact that Pepper is nowhere to be found.
Big Show, The Undertaker and Paul Bearer show up. 'Taker and Big Show guest on commentary for the next match.
Mideon and Viscera beat X-Pac and Kane. During the match, The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) show up, and near the end of the match, they attack Kane, unbeknownst to X-Pac.

Backstage, Chris Jericho tells Howard Finkel he needs work, but with some more intense physical training and more studying of his inspirational, motivational manuals, he may be able to save him a job. He already has "Raw is Jericho," and asks Finkel how "Thursday Night Finkdown" sounds.
"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn shows up. He says that Chyna has been ducking him all night, and tells her to "bring [her] sweet little ass out here" so they can have a chat, as it is not like her to run away from anybody. Chyna shows up, and says there is a misunderstanding here as he has an opportunity to become WWF Intercontinental Championship and wants to know what kind of joke she is playing. Chyna says it is no joke and that he must be thinking out of his ass again, and that she has beaten her to the punch. Billy Gunn says that is cute, but he is not playing around, and either she gives or he takes. Chyna says that's fine, and tells Billy Gunn to show what he's got. All of a sudden, Chyna is blasted in the back of the head with a guitar by Jeff Jarrett. Miss Kitty tries to give Jarrett another guitar, but Mr. Ass takes it from her and smashes it into Jarrett's head.
The Rock guests on commentary for the next match, then WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up in a referee's shirt to be the unannouced special guest referee for the match, sending Earl Hebner to the back.
Triple H beats Mankind to become the WWF Champion! Early on in the match, Mankind puts special guest referee Shane McMahon in the Mandible Claw when Shane warns Triple H of the hold, and sends Shane tumbling out of the ring. After Shane goes down, Chyna shows up only to walk into a Mandible Claw and get sent out of the ring as well. Earl Hebner then comes back and referees the match. Later on in the match, Shane McMahon gets back up and smashes a chair into Mankind's back to no effect, and Triple H takes a chair and smashes it into Mankind's head before smashing it into The Rock's. When Earl Hebner confronts Shane as he tosses Mankind back into the ring, Shane knocks him out and makes the pinfall that gives Triple H the WWF Championship.
After the show goes off the air, Triple H and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon head back to the ring. Triple H goes for another Pedigree, but Mankind blocks and slings Triple H into the corner before putting him in the Mandible Claw. As this goes on, The Rock gets in the ring and fights Shane for hitting him with a chair, and hits him with a Rock Bottom. Shane is then placed on top of Triple H, and The Rock hits them both with a People's Elbow. Mankind thanks The Rock as he leaves, then watches from the stage as Mankind hits Shane with a People's Elbow of his own. Mankind then runs down the ramp, and The Rock is saying "Don't you hug The Rock!" as Mankind tries to hug him. Both men then end up shaking hands, and The Rock leaves as Mankind celebrates on the stage one more time, boasting about how he shook hands with The Rock. THe Rock then returns, and Triple H and Shane are seen trying to leave. The Rock and Mankind shake hands, then hug. Triple H then holds the WWF Championship in the air with Shane and Chyna next to him, and says this is his belt.
WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. Shane says that all week long, insiders have been saying that he would apologize for his actions last week on Raw, then says they are right. He says that he owes his father WWF Chairman Vince McMahon an apology, as he does not lack compassion and feelings and asks the fans what they would do if they "met their maker" like he did, then says it felt great when he reached out and grabbed that power, saying it felt fabulous. Shane says he is proud of what he did, and says he is "the only McMahon with balls the size of grapefruits." He says that in business, one must do everything they have to do and that nothing can get in the way, and while Vince and his sister Stephanie McMahon have gone through some emotional trauma, it is not his problem, for his priorities are this business and The Corporation, and The Corporation will be the most streamlined, omnipotent force in the history of the World Wrestling Federation. He then addresses "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, saying he is a blue collar worker who likes to get his hands dirty and dive into things, and for that, he is the special guest referee at Backlash. Shane then tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that he did not drown in the water, but at Backlash, he will gasp his last breath when he makes the three count and The Rock becomes WWF Champion again, as he is "the toughest S.O.B. in the WWF."
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats The Corporation (The Big Boss Man and Test) with an ankle lock to Test after The Big Boss Man refuses to let Test tag him in, telling him "You're gonna have to learn the hard way."
Backstage, Lucas interviews X-Pac, saying that Kane has yet to let him down, and is confident that that Kane will show up to the arena tonight.
Backstage, The Big Boss Man and Test are seen arguing, and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon tells The Big Boss Man that he has a match "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock tomorrow night on Raw, then tells Test to get his stuff together.
Tiger Ali Singh shows up. He says that as he looks over "this sea of wasted humanity," he gets the distinct impression that the fans do not like him and think he should be driving a taxi cab, working in a 7-11 or talking in a stereotypical accent due to the way he is dressed.He tells the fans not to hate him for who he is, but to look in the mirror and hate themselves for something they will never be. He says that money is power and that he has plenty of both, then offers $500 in cash to any American woman who will get in the ring, get on her knees and massage his royal feet. Suddenly, PMS (Terri Runnels and Jacqueline) show up, then get down to massage his feet. When Tiger Ali says he will split the money between them, PMS take offense to this and hold Sing down so that a man can come down from the crowd and attack Singh. PMS hold security back, and it is obvious that this man is with PMS.
Jim Ross interviews The Rock, who says that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin makes a big deal about his personal property, calling it "fifteen pounds of metal" that is really "a piece of trash" to him, and says he could care less about Stone Cold's career. He also says he could care less if Stone Cold could swim or not, and says that he has a psychological advantage against Austin, whom he says has "a few pounds of fear" in him after facing him more than anyone else. The Rock says he does not fear Austin, and that he knows Austin like no other. As for the subject of his detractors saying that he cannot beat Austin without WWF co-owner Shane McMahon as special guest referee, The Rock says he does not need anybody to beat Austin, that Shane made himself the special guest referee, and that he could care less who the referee is. He then says that "the trailer park trash fans" behind Austin are the ones questioning his motives. The Rock then says he would do absolutely anything to beat "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, whom he calls "a nothing, a nobody, a peon...an absolute nothing" while calling himself "a man and a half" when told Austin is a man just like him. The Rock then says he plans on becoming WWF Champion for a fourth time and ending Stone Cold's career, and tells Jim Ross to tell Austin that he will not only beat his candy ass, but he will beat him out of the business. The Rock then leaves.
Backstage, X-Pac starts to impatiently look for Kane.
The Brood (Edge, Christian, Gangrel) vs. Mideon and Viscera ends in a no-contest after The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) show up and attack The Brood and aid Viscera in hitting Gangrel with a body splash.
Backstage, Lucas interviews Triple H and Chyna. Triple H says that if X-Pac wants to be a man and face him and The Rock alone, then he will give him everything he deserves and tear him apart, then leave just enough of him for Backlash so he can finish him off.
Michael Cole interviews Sable in the ring. Sable says she is such demand these days that she barely has enough time for her beauty sleep, and that it is not easy being a diva. She then says that "Sable Inc." is the hottest stock on Wall Street and that everyone wants a share, and therefore, in the interest of her own safety, she has hired her own personal bodyguard: the world's largest female bodybuilder, Nicole Bass - the large, muscular woman from last week on Raw. Sable then says that if anybody is thinking about a hostile takeover on "Sable, Inc.," they will have to go through Nicole Bass first.
The Corporation (The Rock and Triple H) vs. X-Pac and Kane ends in a no-contest. X-Pac and Kane retain the WWF Tag Team Championships. Kane shows up shortly after the beginning of the match, then Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett run in and attack Kane. The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) then show up and fight off Owen and Jarrett to make the save for X-Pac and Kane. Afterwards, X-Pac tries to reach out to Kane, telling Kane that he has to trust him before handing him his half of the WWF Tag Team Championships. Kane then raises it up, and the show ends.
X-Pac and Kane show up to start tonight's show. X-Pac says he and Kane are out here because Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart have been running around for the past week "whining and crying like a bunch of whining little bitches" because they were beaten for the WWF Tag Team Championships. He then says that as Jarrett and Owen are complaining about their loss being a fluke, he does not see it that way, and if Jarrett and Owen want to do it one more time, they can do it again right here tonight. Jarrett, Owen and Debra show up, and Jarrett insists X-Pac and Kane's victory was a fluke and that he and Owen are "a well-oiled machine" and had all the teams beaten and were unprepared for them. Jarrett says that X-Pac and Kane have pissed them off and that they will take the tag team titles back, then The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) show up. Road Dogg tells Debra that she and Owen have been "smokin' some of the Dogg's goods" if they think they are the #1 contenders, as they see things a little differently. Road Dogg then says he is glad that Jarrett and Owens "had it oiled up," because it will feel a lot better when the Outlaws kick it to them Doggy-style. Billy Gunn tells X-Pac that they are friends, but business is business, and now that Kane and X-Pac are tag team champions, they have something the Outlaws want, and demand that he and Road Dogg be put on that list tonight. X-Pac admits he was not anticipating a challenge from the Outlaws, then says that Jarrett, Owen and the Outlaws all have got their tag team title shot and proposes that they have a three-way tag team match for the titles.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock is seen angry and throwing things backstage on the way to the ring.
We hear from Lucas, who states that he will get a word from The Rock about what he will do with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's custom-made WWF Championship belt.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Mideon with the ankle lock. During the match, Shamrock demands the whereabouts of his sister Ryan Shamrock from Mideon. After the match, Shamrock refuses to let go of the hold as he demands Ryan's whereabouts, and as referees show up to break the hold, Shamrock breaks the hold and terrorizes all of the referees in sight once again before throwing things around at ringside. Shamrock then takes the microphone and tells The Undertaker that he knows he can hear him and that tomorrow night on Raw, they will both be there and that while business is business, nobody messes with his family or anybody else's, and that he is willing to die for his sister before asking The Undertaker if he is willing to do the same.
Backstage, X-Pac talks with Kane, saying that the past is the past and that if they do not act like a team, they will lose the tag team titles.
Backstage, Lucas interviews The Rock, who tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that it behooves him why Austin wants his custom-made WWF Championship belt back when The Rock should have a custom-made title of his own. He says that Austin is a nobody and that he made him famous, and that Austin was one People's Elbow away from him beating him in the ring. He then says that at Backlash, nothing will change and he will walk out as WWF Champion.
Backstage, Mankind has a birthday cake for Mr. Socko.
Jim Ross announces that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon has made it so that he is coming back to commentary on Raw thanks to the fans' efforts, then interviews Mankind in the ring. Mankind shows up with the birthday cake for Mr. Socko as well as Yurple the Clown while confetti and balloons drop down from the top of the arena. Mankind says the cake should say "Happy Birthplace" and not "Happy Birthday," as it is in Michigan that Mr. Socko was born. Mankind congratulates Al Snow for landing a lucrative deal with Lay-Z-Boy, then leads the crowd into singing "Happy Birthplace" along with Yurple the Clown while asking the crowd not to riot due to his less-than-impressive singing voice. Mankind says he will lock himself in the boiler room in seclusion for two weeks to prepare for his Boiler Room Brawl with Big Show at Backlash. He then says that when the two weeks are up, only one man will walk out. He then "cuts" the cake with Mr. Socko and tosses the cake into the crowd.
Shane McMahon guests on commentary for the next match.

"Road Dogg" Jesse James is reading Memories of a Geisha when "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn tells him that business is business and that this is just about the WWF Tag Team Championships.
Droz vs. The Big Boss Man ends with a big, bald man with several piercings coming out of the crowd, getting into the ring and slamming The Big Boss Man with the greatest of ease before stomping The Big Boss Man along with Droz until Test runs into the ring and chases them out.
X-Pac and Kane retains the WWF Tag Team Championships against The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) and the team of Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart. During the match, Triple H and Chyna are seen watching the match from the stage. Billy Gunn raises X-Pac's hand in victory as the show ends.
