Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 26, 1999

RAW

The Undertaker is seen assaulting X-Pac backstage before the show starts. (This backstage brawl is also the first promotional appearance of Hansen's Energy Drink, which would later be name-changed to Monster Energy in 2012.) "Road Dogg' Jesse James tries to come to X-Pac's aid, but The Undertaker puts him through a table before taking his brawl with X-Pac to the stage and into the ring. The Undertaker punches X-Pac a few times and is trying to choke the life out of him when Kane runs in and fights The Undertaker. Big Show runs to the ring and grabs Kane from behind. Big Show and The Undertaker end up fighting Kane together, and Kane is eventually pinned to the corner by The Undertaker as Big Show puts the boots to Kane. Once they are done, 'Taker extends his hand, and Big Show shakes it, making their alliance official.

A black limousine is seen pulling up to the arena. WWF co-owner Vince McMahon walks out of the back of the limousine, walking very slowly without the aid of crutches.

We see footage from during the break where Kane helps X-Pac to the back. Before he picks him up, however, Kane lets out a cry of anguish.

X-Pac is seen being placed in the back of an ambulance as Kane watches.

Hardcore Holly is the special guest ring announcer for the next match. He shoves Tony Chimel out of the ring, then says he is doing this because he can. Hardcore Holly then mocks both teams in the next match, one of which is Edge and Christian, who come out through the crowd together for the first time.

The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) beat Edge and Christian. Shortly after the match starts, it is announced on commentary that "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock has been struck by an automobile somewhere behind the arena, and that an ambulance is en route to the scene. Also during the match, Gangrel shows up and takes Christian to the back. After the match, special guest ring announcer Hardcore Holly declares himself the winner, then gets in the ring to fight The Acolytes only to get torn apart. Kane shows up, gets in the ring and choke slams all three men and Edge. He then asks for a microphone, then places his autolarynx to his neck and says "You hurt Sean [Waltman], you hurt me. Undertaker...Big Show...tonight, I'm gonna hurt you."

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock is seen going off on EMTs as he refuses medical help. We see the ambulance that left with X-Pac earlier, which passes by Shamrock. As this happens, he is struck by an automobile by "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman.

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon is seen heading to the ring, while "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen entering the arena.

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up. Ben Stiller of the upcoming movie Mystery Men is seen in the front row, giving Vince the thumbs down. Vince says he has come here tonight not to break a promise or breach a contract, but to honor them, as he has never lied to anyone and has always kept his promises and fulfilled his obligations, and only once has he not made good on his guarantees. Last night, for the first time in his life, he has failed when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin defeated The Undertaker. He says that for those who watched Fully Loaded in its final moments, he was on his knees among the sweat, the beer, the blood and the grim, agonizing in pain after suffering not one but two devastating Stone Cold Stunners. He feels that final moment is not how he wants to be remembered, and he has taken the liberty to come before the fans and make a more formal farewell. He wants the fans to remember him for who he is: a handsome, affluent entrepreneur who left his indelible mark on each and every fan As Vince is about to leave the ring, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up. Vince says he is glad Austin is here, as he has something to get off his chest. He says they both know that on the surface, it would appear as though they are worlds apart, but down deep, they are just alike. The only difference between himself and Austin is that Vince will always consider himself "the better man." To prove it, he extends his hand and says "Put 'er there." After some hesitation, Austin takes the microphone out of Vince's other hand and says he has a problem with shaking his hand after two years, then asks the crowd to give him a "hell yeah" if they want to see him break his arm and shove it up his ass. He says that he can dump Vince on his neck in an instant. Austin then tells Vince that if he thinks he is the better man because he money and power, then he can take those things along with his arm and shove them all straight up his own ass. He says that as much as Vince tried to make his life a living hell, he says the harder he made it, the more he had, and that he is living proof that a sorry son-of-a-bitch like Vince will never beat a son-of-a-bitch like him. He then asks Jim Ross to come to the ring before Vince leaves, and Jim Ross gets in the ring. He says that Vince fired Jim Ross, and asks him to sing "Na Na Hey Hey (The Goodbye Song)" by Steam because he refuses to sing it. "Oh hey hey" is replaced by "Oh hell yeah." Vince angrily leaves the ring, then turns around only for Austin to flip him off - with both hands - one last time. Vince then turns around and flips Austin off right back with both hands before heading to the back. Austin then celebrates int he ring with a couple of cold ones, as does Jim Ross.

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon is seen heading to the limo when ring announcer Howard Finkel catches up with him. He says that after 24 years, he never thought he would say goodbye, thank him for everyone, and that he loves him. Vince angrily tells Finkel to get the hell away from him, then gets in the limo and leaves.

Before the next match, Val Venis says later on tonight will be the time for lovin', but right now, he wants Droz to bring Prince Albert to the ring and bring their stinking carcasses to the ring so that he and The Godfather can light their punk asses up. Ben Stiller is seen on camera again as The Godfather shows up with his hos. It is also announced that WWF will be on the Home Shopping Network immediately after Raw.

Val Venis and The Godfather beat Droz and Prince Albert in a Tag Team Street Fight. During the match, a portly man in all white - including white dreadlocks in a ponytail - shows up and takes the boots to The Godfather briefly before being hauled off by WWF security.

Michael Cole interviews The Rock, who calls Cole an idiot before placing his brand new merchandise on Cole and telling him not to move before he takes the microphone. He says Triple H beat him, but not on his own, and says he is a one-trick pony and a cheap trick circus. His one trick is Chyna and his circus is his ability. As for "Bad Ass" BIlly Gunn, he will take the lips off of his trunk, peel them off, turn them sideways and stick them straight up his candy ass. He then says he sees the way Chyna licks and puckers his lips when she sees him, and says she has a thing for him and is suffering from "Rock fever." He says that the next time they go one-on-one, he wants her to get on his knees and pucker her lips only for him to kick her teeth so far down her throat she will have to stick a toothbrush straight up her ass to brush them. He wants them to know that he has millions of fans who chant his name, then messes with Michael Cole by asking him what is on his hand only to shove said hand up his face when he raises it up.

Ben Stiller is seen in the front row again, and this time his presence is announced by ring announcer Tony Chimel as "the man who loves Debra's puppies."

WAR ZONE

Triple H and Chyna show up. It is announced that Minnesota state governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura will be the special guest referee for Triple H vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for the WWF Championship at SummerSlam. Triple H calls out Austin for getting Jim Ross to sing WWF co-owner Vince McMahon out of the building, and says he does not give a crap because as of last night, it is no longer about Austin or Vince; it is about him. He says that he can beat Austin man-to-man as Austin watches from the locker room. Triple H says he has watched Austin like a hawk for the last six months and has seen every move. He says he has not taken a breathe or batted an eye without him seeing it, and says he knows him like the back of his hand, knowing his strengths and every one of his weaknesses. At SummerSlam, no matter what the hype says, it will not be an out-of-body experience. He then says to Hell with Jesse "The Body" Ventura, because he will not be a factor, and neither will Chyna. He says it will all come down to him and Austin, one-on-one, face-to-face, man-to-man. He says just like him, Austin eats, breathes and sleeps this business. While Austin may be a student of the game, at SummerSlam, he will show him and the whole world that he is the game. Chyna then takes the microphone, and says The Rock talks really tough from the back. She says he has something to say to her, but that it is just too bad he does not have the balls to say it to her face. Triple H and Chyna are about to leave the ring when The Rock shows up. He is about to approach the ring when he is attacked from behind by "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn with the same club that Gunn used at Fully Loaded. Gunn and Chyna take the boots to The Rock, Gunn and Triple H hold The Rock up so Chyna can hit The Rock with a low blow. Gunn then says to The Rock "Rock...now you know your role...bitch!" Triple H, Gunn and Chyna then leave. The Rock then gets back up and tells Billy Gunn that if he has a set of balls - before saying that he knows Chyna has some, too - then their candy asses meet him tonight in a handicap match so he can take both of his boots, turn them sideways, and stick them straight up their candy asses.

Kane beats The Undertaker and Big Show in a handicap match by disqualification after The Undertaker hits Kane in the head with a steel chair. The Undertaker continues to attack Kane after the match, and "Road Dogg" Jesse James rushes in to fight both The Undertaker and Big Show off only to fall victim to a choke slam by Big Show. Kane gets up in the meantime, but The Undertaker and Big Show continue to attack him.

Jeff Jarrett is seen dragging Debra out of a photo shoot backstage on his way to the ring.

Only 335 hours and 39 minutes until the new millennium!

Jeff Jarrett and Debra show up. He says there will be no puppies in anybody's future tonight, as tonight is about the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. He then calls out Ben Stiller, saying he knows he is here, and tells him to get in the ring as his personal guest. He knows that he is a big fan of Debra's puppies, but makes it clear he can't touch the merchandise. When asked why he is here, he says he is here to see some world classic wrestling while on the road promoting Mystery Men opening next week on August 6th. Jarrett asks why he wasn't cast in the movie, and Stiller mentions the characters in the movie before saying there wasn't a guy powerful enough for Jarrett to portray. He then asks Stiller who his favorite WWF Superstar is. Stiller says it's the puppies. He then gets attacked from behind by Jarrett. Stiller tries to crawl out of the ring, but Jeff Jarrett puts him in the Figure Four Leg Lock as Debra yells at Jarrett to stop. As Stiller is tapping out, D'Lo Brown gets in the ring, and Jarrett lets go to fend off D'Lo only to fall victim to the Sky High followed by the Lo Down. D'Lo then checks on Ben Stiller while Debra leaves with Jarrett.

It is revealed after the break that while D'Lo Brown had Jeff Jarrett in the Sky Hugh, Ben Stiller had his nose in Debra's puppies.

Triple H is seen entering "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's locker room.

Before the next match, Ivory says Nicole Bass is a pain in her and isn't good enough to stand by her. (In reality, she is no longer in the company after leaving and filing a sexual harassment lawsuit against Steve Lombardi aka The Brooklyn Brawler after he allegedly sexually assaulted her backstage. The case will ultimately be dismissed.) She then issues another open challenge for the WWF Women's Championship to anybody in the crowd, and a woman in the crowd with red hair and a skirt is picked out. Ivory then hits her with the Women's title before going to town on her. Suddenly, Tori shows up and gets the better of Ivory as the woman picked out of the crowd is helped out of ringside by WWF security. Referees and officials then show up to separate both women.

Triple H is seen leaving "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's locker room.

Al Snow is seen sitting on the floor backstage and wanting the voices in his head to stop when a chihuahua approaches Snow, smells him and leaves. Snow wants the chihuahua to come back.

Before the next match, Triple H thought he would come out and kick "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock's ass, but he guesses that will not happen. He tells Shamrock to go ahead and nurse his wounds in the back if he wants to, but it only makes him "a puss." Shamrock shows up after his music plays a second time, this time with his ribs and left elbow taped up.

Triple H beats "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock after Shamrock is deemed by referee Jimmy Korderas to be too badly hurt to continue. Triple H continues to attack Shamrock after the match.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Paul Bearer, Big Show and The Undertaker. 'Taker says X-Pac is in the hospital, while Kane is nothing more than "a big red pussy." He says the days of scary music and scary entrances are over. He says Big Show knows what evil is, and that soon all the people will know what evil is, as the days of Armageddon are upon us. We then see Test attacking Pete Gas backstage before Rodney and Joey Abs can get his hands on him.

Triple H guests on commentary for the next match.

"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and Chyna vs. The Rock ends in a no-contest. During the match, Triple H attacks The Rock from behind at ringside behind referee Earl Hebner's back as he becomes hostile to Jim Ross on commentary. Triple H eventually punches Jim Ross out, and "Stone Cold" Steve AUstin - who has been seen watching the match from backstage and hearing what Triple H has to say about him - rushes out and brwal brawls with Triple H at ringside as The Rock lays Chyna and Billy Gunn out.

After the show goes off the air, Triple H continues to brawl with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at ringside as The Rock chases "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn to the back. Austin and Triple H's brawl is taken over the barricade and into the front row, then heads back to ringside. The two of them eventually fight each other in the ring until Austin hits Triple H with a Stone Cold Stunner. Austin the celebrates with a couple of cold beers to send the fans home happy, but Chyna yanks Austin off the second rope and Triple H stomps Austin again before drinking a beer, smacking the beer can into his face and holding Austin up so that Chyna can slap him. Austin fights back, however, and hits both Triple H and Chyna with Stone Cold Stunners. He then celebrates with more beer.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 12, 1999

RAW

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up to start tonight's show. He knows that WWF co-owner Vince McMahon can hear him from backstage, and says he has had his attorneys draw up the contract and make sure that it is iron-clad that when he wins, Vince will be gone. As far as The Undertaker busting him wide open goes, that does not even need to be brought up. He then tells Vince to come down to the ring so they can sign the contract. Vince shows up in a wheelchair, and wheels down to the ring. Austin asks the crowd to give him a "hell yeah" if they think Vince looks completely pathetic, then leaves the ring and places it on a table in front of the ring. He tells Vince to sign the contract. Before Vince signs, he lets everyone know for the record that he was recently involved in a motorcycle accident and sustained multiple injuries, but nothing would keep him from coming here and signing the contract. Vince pulls out his own pen and reading glasses, but says he will not sign it unless Austin signs it first, as he does not trust him. Austin says he will sign it, but only if Vince gives him his property first: his custom-made "smoking skull" WWF Championship. He says they can do this the hard way, which is handing the property over, or they can do it the hard way, which involves shoving the contract so far up Vince's ass he'll have to open his mouth to sign it. After Austin tells Vince to get one of his flunkies to send him the title, Kane suddenly shows up, and Vince asks Austin to wheel him up the ramp. All of a sudden, The Undertaker shows up from behind and attacks Austin from behind with the "smoking skull" belt. The Undertaker attacks Austin until Austin's head is busted open, and Vince is heard telling The Undertaker to "bust him open." Vince then hands 'Taker a fountain pen, and The Undertaker collects some of Austin's blood with it. He hands the pen to Vince, who then signs the contract in Austin's own blood and leaves with The Undertaker.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin has to receive stitches backstage, and Austin yells at the EMTs to get the doctor as he has some business to take care of.

Edge vs. Gangrel ends on the stage, where Gangrel pushes Edge into the recess where his entrance elevator is at, which is surrounded by fire.

A doctor checks on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's head wound backstage. Austin finds out he has a complex laceration that will require ten to twelve stitches to close. Austin does not care.

This Wednesday at 11 AM Eastern, 10 AM central, a SummerSlam press conference will be held in the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is announced that Jesse "The Body" Ventura will be returning to the ring at SummerSlam.

X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James tar and feather ring announcer Howard Finkel backstage for ratting out where they were to the police last week before heading to the ring. X-Pac then calls out Triple H, Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn, saying that if their "corporate kiss-asses" want to take the D-Generation X, they will have to take their last breaths to get it, for at Fully Loaded, their asses are grass, and he's going to smoke them. Road Dogg says that they bleed neon green, and that's it what's in their hearts, not what's in their wallets, and they will continue represent D-Generation X. Kane suddenly shows up and gets in the ring, and X-Pac wants to know what's going on with him. X-Pac tells Kane he knows Kane is confused, but he cannot let The Undertaker manipulate him like he has in the past. If he wants anything to do with The Undertaker, he wants nothing to do with Kane, and tells Kane he has to make a choice. Suddenly, Triple H, Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn show up and attack all of them, then The Undertaker shows up and cleans house until he and Kane stare down in the middle of the ring. The Undertaker tells Kane that he is his brother, and he will not make him choice and that he would never ask him to. As The Undertaker leaves, Kane leaves the ring, but stops short of walk ing up the ramp.

Michael Cole reports that he will interview Triple H, Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn after the next match.

Before the next match, Val Venis says "The Big Valbowski" is a lot like Mick Foley, as he is hard to beat and he never, ever seems to want to stay down.

Val Venis and The Godfather beat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) by disqualification after Michael Hayes hits Val Venis in the back with a tag team title belt to break up a pinfall. The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships. After the match, The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) attack The Hardys from behind, and this starts a brief brawl between all three teams that referees quickly break up.

Triple H, Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn says they are the real D-Generation X and are getting ripped off, as they own everything. Triple H says that if X-Pac and "Road Dogg" want to lay claim to everything DX, they'll have to take it at Fully Loaded. Tonight, they're going to kick their asses just for the fun of it, and Triple H tells X-Pac and Road Dogg to bring "the big red retard" Kane with them if they can get Kane's nose out of The Undertaker's ass.

Jeff Jarrett and Debra are seen backstage, while "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen leaving the medical room with his head stitched up and bandaged.

We see a vignette for Tori.

Jeff Jarrett and Debra show up. Jarrett says he has a load of news for everyone, and until everyone starts showing him the proper respect, then Debra's puppies are going to stay in his doghouse and only he will dictate when they come out to play. Suddenly, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - the bandage still on his head - runs in and hits Jarrett with a Stone Cold Stunner after Debra gets out of the ring. Austin says that if The Undertaker wants his blood, then he wants a piece of The Undertaker's ass tonight in this ring, with no rules, no referee and anything goes. As Austin leaves the ring, Big Show comes out. He tells Austin to think about this, and tells him that it's going to be him, The Undertaker and Kane as 'Taker has recruited Kane and it will more or less be a handicap match. Austin may not want his help, but he wants to kick The Undertaker and Kane's asses just as much as Austin does, and he proposes teaming together to send them to Hell. Austin tells Big Show that if he can get his ass in the ring, then somebody's going to get their ass whipped, and that's the bottom line because he said so. Jarrett gets back in the ring, and as soon as he tells the guys in the back to cut Austin's music, Austin runs abck into the ring and hits Jarrett with another Stunner.

WAR ZONE

Before the next match, Triple H, Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn come out to D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James)'s theme despite not being part of DX, and Kane fails to show up for the match. Triple H says that if the big goof isn't going to make it, he cuts them a little deal where if X-Pac and Road Dogg give him, Chyna and Gunn the rights to D-Generation X, they won't kick their asses. X-Pac tells them to suck it. Suddenly, The Rock shows up and runs into the ring, replacing Kane as he tries to get a piece of Triple H.

D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James) and The Rock beat Triple H, Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn.

Terry Taylor interviews Droz and Prince Albert backstage. Droz says life is about experiment, growing and doing something a little different as he wears a dress. He plans to have an Evening Gown Match where the first man stripped to his bra and panties is the loser. He then heads to the locker room to wax his bikini line.

The Undertaker is seen talking to Kane backstage.

Droz heads to the ring and asks who is man enough to accept his challenge for an Evening Gown match. Suddenly, Al Snow shows - in a dress - with Head. He says they have heard a challenge, and since they need a challenge and faced some little people last night, they can't look any more ridiculous now and will take the match if it is hardcore rules. Droz accepts.

Al Snow beats Droz in a hardcore rules Evening Gown Match after clamping onto Droz's privates with a pair of salad tongs. After the match, Snow clamps Droz in the privates with a salad tongs. After the match, Snow hits Droz with a steel chair before elbow dropping him through a table, and Prince Albert hammers a railroad spike into the top of Head's head.

We see footage from earlier tonight where "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry is back only to find out his blood pressure is 190/120. Henry cannot compete tonight.

The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) show up. Faarooq says "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry and D'Lo Brown left the arena because they knew he and Bradshaw would kick their asses. Faarooq then demands an opponent, saying that they came here tonight to kick somebody's ass. Bradshaw says they came here for a fight, and if nobody wants to approach the ring, then somebody had better get ready as they are coming to the back. As they head backstage, Hardcore Holly shows up and fights both of them on his own. Not surprisingly, The Acolytes wallop him until Big Show shows up and carries Holly to the stage. Holly is dazed, saying that he had the match under control.

Joey Abs is seen talking to WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon on GTV, saying he was a jerk before but is a changed man now, asking her for one more chance. Stephanie slaps Joey Ryan, saying she only went out with him only for his brother, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. She tells Joey to stay away from her.

The Gauntlet Match between Test and The Mean Street Posse (Rodney, Pete Gas, Joey Abs) ends after WWF co-owner Shane McMahon runs into the ring and attacks before "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman gets a piece of Test. Suddenly, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock - now back following suffering internal injuries - fights Blackman and takes their brawl to the back before Shane and the Posse attempt to break Test's ankle with a steel chair clamped onto the foot, with Shane elbowing a few referees who try to get to him from behind. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon rushes in and grabs Shane from behind, but Shane elbows her from behind and turns around only to find out it is Stephanie. Shane and the Posse immediately help Stephanie to the back.

We see some footage from during the commercial break where "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock brawl backstage.

Michael Cole interviews The Undertaker and Kane. The Undertaker says he and Kane are together as one once again. He says blood is thicker than water, and at Fully Loaded, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's blood will flow, as he will make him suffer. He plans to bust Austin's head open, and he also might drink some blood from the cut. He says that tonight, Austin will get a sample of what is to come at Fully Loaded, and he will not only see it...but he will feel it.

Only 671 hours and ten minutes to the millennium...which is in less than a month. Huh?

Kane shows up with a turnbuckle bolt - the same weapon Big Show struck him with last night on Sunday Night Heat - in his hand as heads to the ring before the next match. When Big Show shows up, The Undertaker and Kane go after him, and Kane tries to make use of that turnbuckle bolt only to fail to do so.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Big Show beat The Undertaker and Kane. During the match, Kane knocks Big Show out with a blow to the back of the head with a turnbuckle bolt. Austin tries to fight Kane and The Undertaker off, but he ends up getting choke slammed by Kane, knocking off the bandage around his head. Big Show gets back up and fights back against Kane as The Undertaker chokes Austin with his own shirt before trying to bust Austin open again with a steel chair. Austin dodges the chair shots and fights back, then gets back in the ring and fights Kane. Kane gets the upper hand, and The Undertaker busts Austin open again. This does not stop Austin, who hits Kane with a Stone Cold Stunner for the pinfall as The Undertaker and Big Show brawl outside of the ring.

After the show goes the air, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Big Show give each other a high five, then celebrate with some cold beer. After this, Big Show heads to the back, but Austin runs back into the ring with him for one more round and to clean some of the blood off his head and face with aforementioned beer. He then lays on the ramp on the way to the back and tries to drink three beers at one time.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 7, 1999

RAW

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. He says there seems to be a great deal of interesting in who "the higher power" is. He admits his personal interest has been tweaked ago, and he remembers three months ago when The Undertaker first made reference to it. Since then, this "higher power" has weaved its wicked web of evil, and if it is true that this "higher power" is more demonic than The Undertaker, he would like to meet it, although he believes he has already has. He says there are some rumors could be WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, a member of the McMahon family, Jake "The Snake" Roberts or even the bartender at the end of the block. Vince says whoever it is, he intends to go no holds barred with "the higher power" tonight. He believes "the higher power" is a member of the McMahon family. He knows WWF co-owner Shane McMahon can hear his voice, and challenges him to a no-holds-barred match tonight where his 50% controlling interest in the WWF is put on the line...but only if Shane puts his 50% controlling interest in the company on the line at all. Vince says that this match will not only be no holds barred, it will be winner take all. Shane shows up and accepts Vince's challenge; however, he is not "the higher power." Neverthless, he will have The Undertaker come out in a few moments and reveal "the higher power."

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seem talking to someone who is inside a white limousine as he makes his way into the building.

The Corporate Ministry shows up. The Undertaker says he has prophesied of a power even greater than he for months on end, and assembled an army to prepare for his eventual arrival. The Corporation and The Ministry laid the groundwork. He tells all the non-believers to prepare for the day of reckoning, for it is at hand. The Undertaker announces that "the higher power" has arrived, and presents "the higher power" for all to see. A figure in a burgundy robe shows up and walks down the aisle. The Undertaker stands among the rest of The Corporate Ministry, who all bow to "the higher power." "The higher power" takes the microphone, and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon's voice can be heard saying that he was not "the higher power," and that nobody wanted to believe him. All the while, the robed figure moves its head up and down as if it were speaking. Shane then shows up from backstage, and says that maybe we should, as "the higher power" is omniscient, cold and calculated, and a master at screwing with people's minds. "The higher power" is a master planner, methodical in his methods, and a master of human psychology. "The higher power" knows what makes all of us ticks, and exploits it all for the betterment of The Corporate Ministry and for personal amusement. Shane asks WWF co-owner Vince McMahon to come down to the ring to reveal "the higher power" to the world, as he needs a witness and he wants to see the look on his face. Vince is seen on the TitanTron, saying he is close enough where he stands right here and now. He says the games are over and asks "the higher power" show his face to the world now. "The higher power' reveals his face...and it is Vince himself. Vince says "It's me, Austin! It's me, Austin! It was me all along, Austin!" Jim Ross responds on commentary with "Aw, son of a bitch!" and "I can't believe he's..." Vince brags about how everyone bought what was going on hook, line and sinker, as well as how his immediate family bought it. He says everyone was made fools of, and says he didn't really want to have to do it, but "Stone Cold" Steve Austin made him fool everyone, as he had to teach him a lesson that he would never, ever forget. He says that Austin knows there is no price he will not pay, no depth that he will stoop to make Austin's life a total, complete living hell. He thanks Shane, The Undertaker, and the rest of The Corporate Ministry. All of a sudden, Linda and Stephanie McMahon - Vince's wife and daughter, respectively - show up. Stephanie wants to know why Vince and Shane could be so cruel to her. Vince says that they were not trying to hurt her and that it was just business, and that love had nothing to do with it and that they still love her. Linda takes the microphone, and says they might as well talk business. Vince tells Linda he loves her. Linda tells Vince she loves him, but to quote him, love has nothing to do with business. Vince tells Linda she does not want to go there, but Linda says she does, and corrects the lie that Vince and Shane each own 50% of this company, and says that she and Stephanie also own shares, meaning all four family members own equal controlling interests. She also says that Vince and Shane did not grow WWF on his own, and that she and a lot of others have equally worked as hard behind the scenes to make the World Wrestling Federation successful. She also reveals that she had called an emergency meeting with the board of directors, of which Vince says he was not notified. Linda says that is too bad, and reveals that there will be sweeping changes, starting with the dress code. She says it will look a little more casual, and that cut-off jeans may be the dress of the day at the office. A sprinkling of profanity at the office for when the situation calls for it will be just fine. Also, an ice-cold alcoholic beverage at the end of the work day will be encouraged. She then announces that she has stepped down as CEO of WWF before hand-picking her own successor, who will have full power and privileges as he sees fit. Linda and Stephanie then introduce the new CEO: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who shows up with a tie around his neck along with what he usually wears along with a clipboard in his hand. Austin takes off the power tie, since he has the power finger which he proceeds to flip Vince off. He says that paperwork and clipboards are not his style, and that it takes some time to get the adjustments just right when thrown in a corporate setting, then tells Vince he will do everything in his power to make this new transition of power as soon as possible. He then drinks a beer, and says he is getting used to "this corporate crap" already. He says that the board has agreed earlier today that he will have a title shot at a later date and take back the WWF Championship. Also, for the immediate focus, his focus is on Vince and Shane, and at King of the Ring (of which he says that nobody knows how important that event is like he does), he will be in a handicap match against both Vince and Shane. Finally, he gets to kick both of their asses at the same time. Vince says he is on, and says he and Shane can take him any day of the week. He may have to have a few stipulations here and there, but it is on. Austin says he doesn't give a rat's ass what Vince thinks. He then puts Shane in a handicap match against X-Pac and Kane as a result of screwing them out of the tag team titles. He then says he is a good sport, and wishes Shane good luck. He then lets the rest of The Union (Big Show, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock) get a free pass tonight, and lets them have a match against anyone they choose, while telling Mankind to get well soon. "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley will be in a Cast Match where one of Triple H's legs is put in a full cast before he faces The Rock. He says that if anybody has any problems, he will be in his dressing room, and if he's not busy drinking too much beer, he might open the door and talk to you.

WWF co-owners Linda and Stephanie McMahon congratulate "Stone Cold" Steve Austin on becoming the new CEO with a briefcase full of cans of beer.

The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Brood (Gangrel and Edge). During the match, The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Michael Hayes show up and attack Christian after the match is over.

Two men dressed suspiciously like The Mean Street Posse (Rodney and Pete Gas) in Kane and Mankind masks are seen in the front row.

The Union (Big Show, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock) is interviewed in the ring by Michael Cole. Big Show sends a special thanks to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, whom he calls "the toughest S.O.B. he's ever met" and "the toughest CEO he's ever worked for." He then says that he will take on The Undertaker tonight, and that if The Undertaker wants to play hardball, he will get his wish. He threatens to choke slam The Undertaker all the way through the ring. He also wants the WWF Championship on the line, as well. Shamrock gives a shout-out to Mick Foley, who is recovering from a knee injury back home. He says that The Union will take care of business, and speaking of business, Jeff Jarrett will have to wait for some abuse, as he has someone else that he wants to abuse. Since The Union has an open season ticket on whoever they want thanks to Austin, he has someone he really, really wants: WWF co-owner Vince McMahon. He wants to take him on a little stroll back in time, back when he rescued WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon from the clutches of The Ministry when nobody else wanted to. He says that Vince embarrassed and humiliated him, and wants him in the Lion's Den match, saying that Vince used him and that tonight, he will abuse him. Test says that there is only one person he wants in the ring, and asks Stephanie McMahon to come to the ring. Stephanie shows up. All the while, WWF co-owners Vince and Shane McMahon are watching all this from the back, and they are not happy about anything that is going on, especially Stephanie coming to the ring. Test says it has been a rough couple of months, and says Vince and Shane may not like Stephanie dating a wrestler. He then asks her for a date. Stephanie says she would love to. Shane and Vince are absolutely mortified.

"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley gets physical with the doctor who is putting his leg in a cast for his Cast Match later tonight.

After the match, Road Dogg chases Billy Gunn to the back.

Michael Cole interviews WWF co-owner Vince McMahon, who simply asks "Do you think...I'm afraid...of ["The World's Most Dangerous Man"] Ken Shamrock?"

Vince McMahon beats "The World's Most Dangerous Man" with the ankle lock. Before the match, Vince locks himself inside the cage by wrapping a chain around the cage door, and as Vince uses the chain to keep Shamrock out, he eventually pulls it all the way away from around the door and allows Shamrock in. When that happens, however, Jeff Jarrett nails Shamrock with a steel chair, and Vince McMahon applies Shamrock's trademark ankle lock to Shamrock himself.

WWF co-owners Vince and Shane McMahon are seen running into a limo, which speeds out of the arena.

Backstage, Lucas interviews "Road Dogg" Jesse James. Road Dogg says he may not be 100%, but Triple H could not beat half of him if the other half was helping him, as it will take more than being dropped on his head to stop him from solving some family problems with Triple H.

Soon after this, Chyna grabs Road Dogg's legg, distracting Road Dogg and allowing Triple H to hit the Pedigree for the win. D'Lo then says that's not his problem, and tells Venis to replace Sable or else he will have "one hell of a handicap match." He then asks X-Pac who told him to think, which he says is not X-Pac's forte, and says that he will be leader, for it is about the pecking order and he will both make and break him.

Shane promises that he will call the match down the middle, then tells "Stone Cold" that if he even so much as lays a hand on him, he will disqualify him on the spot and award the WWF Championship to The Rock. He then asks the fans if they can feel, as his power is in full effect after having seized the power and realized it felt good, then tells his father WWF Chairman Vince McMahon that he is creating a new dynasty for the World Wrestling Federation and a new era and new standard of excellence, and that he is "damn proud of it." Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for April 11, 1999

X-Pac and Kane show up to start tonight's show. X-Pac says he and Kane are out here because Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart have been running around for the past week "whining and crying like a bunch of whining little bitches" because they were beaten for the WWF Tag Team Championships. He then says that as Jarrett and Owen are complaining about their loss being a fluke, he does not see it that way, and if Jarrett and Owen want to do it one more time, they can do it again right here tonight. Jarrett, Owen and Debra show up, and Jarrett insists X-Pac and Kane's victory was a fluke and that he and Owen are "a well-oiled machine" and had all the teams beaten and were unprepared for them. Jarrett says that X-Pac and Kane have pissed them off and that they will take the tag team titles back, then The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) show up. Road Dogg tells Debra that she and Owen have been "smokin' some of the Dogg's goods" if they think they are the #1 contenders, as they see things a little differently. Road Dogg then says he is glad that Jarrett and Owens "had it oiled up," because it will feel a lot better when the Outlaws kick it to them Doggy-style. Billy Gunn tells X-Pac that they are friends, but business is business, and now that Kane and X-Pac are tag team champions, they have something the Outlaws want, and demand that he and Road Dogg be put on that list tonight. X-Pac admits he was not anticipating a challenge from the Outlaws, then says that Jarrett, Owen and the Outlaws all have got their tag team title shot and proposes that they have a three-way tag team match for the titles.

After the match, Shamrock refuses to let go of the hold as he demands Ryan's whereabouts, and as referees show up to break the hold, Shamrock breaks the hold and terrorizes all of the referees in sight once again before throwing things around at ringside. Shamrock then takes the microphone and tells The Undertaker that he knows he can hear him and that tomorrow night on Raw, they will both be there and that while business is business, nobody messes with his family or anybody else's, and that he is willing to die for his sister before asking The Undertaker if he is willing to do the same.

Backstage, X-Pac talks with Kane, saying that the past is the past and that if they do not act like a team, they will lose the tag team titles.

Backstage, Lucas interviews The Rock, who tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that it behooves him why Austin wants his custom-made WWF Championship belt back when The Rock should have a custom-made title of his own. He says that Austin is a nobody and that he made him famous, and that Austin was one People's Elbow away from him beating him in the ring. He then says that at Backlash, nothing will change and he will walk out as WWF Champion.

Backstage, Mankind has a birthday cake for Mr. Socko.

Jim Ross announces that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon has made it so that he is coming back to commentary on Raw thanks to the fans' efforts, then interviews Mankind in the ring. Mankind shows up with the birthday cake for Mr. Socko as well as Yurple the Clown while confetti and balloons drop down from the top of the arena. Mankind says the cake should say "Happy Birthplace" and not "Happy Birthday," as it is in Michigan that Mr. Socko was born. Mankind congratulates Al Snow for landing a lucrative deal with Lay-Z-Boy, then leads the crowd into singing "Happy Birthplace" along with Yurple the Clown while asking the crowd not to riot due to his less-than-impressive singing voice. Mankind says he will lock himself in the boiler room in seclusion for two weeks to prepare for his Boiler Room Brawl with Big Show at Backlash. He then says that when the two weeks are up, only one man will walk out. He then "cuts" the cake with Mr. Socko and tosses the cake into the crowd.

Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for April 4, 1999

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up with Triple H, Chyna and The Rock. Shane says that as a competitor in the World Wrestling Federation, he has nothing else to prove along with an unblemished and undefeated record, and announces that the is retiring the WWF European Championship. As for D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn), the name of the group belongs to Triple H. Triple H calls the boos "music to [his] ears," and says that the DX name, logo, music, crotch chop, two words and attitude are all his, and when he got done carrying "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, he and Chyna picked the rest of the group up - which he refers to as "The 1-2-3 Kid", "The Real Jesse James" and "Rockabilly" - and carried them for twelve months. He says that the rest of the group wanted to be "cool," "big time" and "over," and while he made them "cool" and "big time" and got them "over," they made the DX Army, because without them, it's "Just three little boys running around playing G.I. Joe in their back yard." He then tells DX that if they want a war, then they have come to the right place, because they've got one, and that he will break X-Pac down at Backlash. Shane says that since his father has other things on his mind, it is time for him to take on some newfound responsibility, starting with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. He says that Austin was looking for something last week on Raw, and that it is around The Rock's shoulder right now, and when he tried to get it back, it did not happen. Shane then rules that if Austin wants it back, he will have to beat The Rock in a rematch for the WWF Championship at Backlash. He then says a match of that magnitude needs a special guest referee, and the referee for that match will be none other than himself. The Rock tells Austin that he wants and wants, but he wants something, too: the WWF Championship. The Rock then says some people say he is an icon, that some say that he is immortal and that some say that he is already legendary, but he will say that he is without a shadow of a doubt "the best damn WWF champ there ever was." He says that he will take his right hand and commence to kick his roody-poo candy ass at Backlash and guarantees that he will prove to Austin and the millions of his fans exactly why he is "The Great One", and says that the one things Austin will hear is the sickening sound of him shoving his foot in and out of his candy-ass. Shane then announces that he has a special present for "The Big Show" Paul Wight" tomorrow night, and he will stick his newfound authority down his throat.

WWF CHairman Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are seen talking to Jerry "The King" Lawler via satellite from Grennwich, Connecticut.

Tori beats Jacqueline by disqualification after Terri Runnels grabs Tori by the hair. After the match, Jacqueline continues to attack Tori, and hits her with a op rope splash. Ivory shows up and confronts Terri, but Jacqueline attacks her from behind. Regeree Jimmy Korderas keeps Terri from burning Ivory with her cigar again.

Backstage, Lucas interviews Val Venis, who says he wants to make one thing clear before Ryan Shamock shows up. Ryan says she was hoping that you would come home, but Val Venis tells her it was real and it was good, but it was never real good.

We see a black-and-white shot of the Cleavage house.

Owen Hart, Jeff Jarrett and Debra show up. Owen asks for some competition, and Jarrett says they are standing in the ring tonight as WWF Tag Team Championship with virtually no competition. He issues an open challenge to anyone who has the guts to face them in the ring. The open challenge is answered by Kane, who suddenly shows up in the middle of the ring. Jarrett and Owen retreat, and Jarrett tells Kane they will see him later for the WWF Tag Team Championships.

The Big Boss Man beats Droz. During the match, The Big Boss Man rips Droz's nose ring out and hands it to the announce table.

Backstage, a doctor tends to Droz's nose.

Jerry "The King' Lawler interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon in Greenwich, Connecticut. Stephanie says she does not really remember all that much about what happened to her last Monday, and Vince says this has started some time ago and that Stephanie has endured this pain for some time. He says it started with the envelope containing candid shots of Stephanie McMahon in public as well as at home, all of which invaded her privacy. Vince then brings up the teddy bear that was given to Stephanie as a present as a very young child. Stephanie says that when she came back home the other night, she found strange things written on her mirror and that somet personal things were messed with, and says it is very uncomfortable that someone has been watching her. Vince says he thought he knew The Undertaker, but The Undertaker has changed and is becoming this creature with other people following him. He does not know what The Undertaker wants, as he has known him for a long time, and says he has no idea where his transformation is going. Vince says this is personal now, and that he is a business man. Stephanie says she has known The Undertaker, too, and says she never really known him due to the sudden transformation. Stephanie says she only feels safe when she is with her father Vince, and Vince says that if this does not stop, somebody is going to get hurt, and he will be damned if it is his daughter.

Kane beats Jeff Jarrett and Owen by disqualification after Jarrett hits Kane in the back of the head with a guitar to no effect. After the match, Owen and Jarrett continue to attack Kane, but X-Pac makes the save and fights alongside Kane. Kane grabs X-Pac for a choke slam, but lets go.
