Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for January 17, 2014

Vickie Guerrero interrupts The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gun) vs The Brotherhood (Goldust and Cody Rhodes) to talk about the Royal Rumble match. The New Age Outlaws beat The Brotherhood thanks to Vickie's distraction.

Renee Young interviews CM Punk, who confirms that he plans to call out The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns).

Paul Heyman shows up and says Brock Lesnar will beat Big Show at Royal Rumble. Big Show comes out, and Heyman tries to escape through the crowd. We see footage of Show tossing Lesnar again, and Big Show says that he's knocking Lesnar out that night.

Rey Mysterio beats Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio then attacks Rey and puts him in the Cross Arm Breaker.

Naomi beats Tamina Snuka.

We take a look at Mae Young's life and career.

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan) shows up. Bray knew Daniel Bryan would turn on him thanks to "Sister Abigail," and says Bryan "will burn with the saints."

Renee Young interviews CM Punk again. He's calling out The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) and The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn).

Big E Langston beats Fandango.

Renee Young interviews The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns). They plan to have one of their own headline WrestleMania 30...and stay united.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The Real Americans (Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro) after a wheelchair-bound Zeb Colter is pushed into Cesaro.

CM Punk shows up. He thinks Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are out to get him, but he shows no fear and knows that when he speaks, people listen, and considers that to be real power. As he speaks, The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) show up...and so do the New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). Kane shows up and stops the potential 5-on-1 brawl, and says "The Authority doesn't want it this way." He still says Punk is paranoid and says Triple H and Stephanie McMahon aren't against him, as they put him in the Royal Rumble match. From this point on, he will be treated justly, according to Kane. Punk doesn't trust Kane, and makes it known by calling Kane a seven-foot-tall sellout. Kane says "Get him, boys" and all five men attacks Punk. Suddenly, Kane rushes into the ring and chokeslams Punk.
