Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for March 31, 2021

Christian Cage beats Frankie Kazarian in his AEW debut.

We hear from Darby Allin and Sting. Darby Allin tells Matt Hardy that his body is breaking down and that he does not have what it takes anymore. He calls "Big Money Matt" a reflection of all of Matt Hardy's insecurities and says that Matt used to earn people's respect as he inspired generations, but now, he tries to buy respect instead. He says all the money in the world cannot buy real trust, real friends and real respect, and that Matt will have to earn his respect, for his money "doesn't mean shit" to him.

We hear from Jade Cargill, who says that before Red Velvet first met her, she looked and smelled like money, and after Tony Khan booked her, she made that money. She says that Red Velvet cannot accept she is not better than her, and tells her that she cannot beat her because she is "that bitch."

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall in an unsanctioned exhibition match with members of the Nightmare Family around the ring ends with Marshall decking special guest referee "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson with a right hand. After this, Aaron Solow hits Cody in the back with a chair, causing a brawl between members of the Nightmare Family. Aaron Solow, Anthony Ogogo and Nick Comoroto break ranks with the rest of the Nightmare Family and lay out everyone else, and Comoroto powerbombs Lee Johnson over the top rope at the command of QT Marshall, who attacks Anderson one more time by slamming his arm into the barricade. Comoroto then grabs the ring steps and places them on the stage, where a busted-open "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes is piledrived on the top of the steps by Marshall. They then rbing Cody to the stops, and Red Velvet has to run in to stop Marshall from bashing Cody's head into the steps with a chair. Marshall, Comoroto, Solow and Ogogo head to the back.

We hear from "All Ego" Ethan Page, who states that AEW has not lived up to their end of the deal. He says he gives them star power only to end up being overlooked. As he says this, the scene switches to Scorpio Sky, who is saying the same thing. They say they are forced to share the spotlight with people who are not on their level, and now they will take anything and everything they want, starting on Monday on AEW Dark Elevation against Matt and Mike Sydal.

Backstage, Dasha Gonzalez interviews Red Velvet, who says that she will have "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes' back before she is attacked by Jade Cargill, who says that she is "that bitch."

In footage from earlier today, we hear from Jon Moxley, who says he cannot get the sound of the crunch from when The Good Brothers took out Eddie Kingston's ankle, that he is attacked by goons every two seconds, that The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) would rather appeal to someone's sensibilities rather than swing chairs, that he still has scares from the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match, that he has a match with Cezar Bononi, and that it all pisses him off. He says that Bononi has the look and the talent, but it will not better if he's dead, and tonight, he gets to drop somebody on their head and knock somebody unconscious.

Jon Moxley beats Cezar Bononi with a rear naked sleeper despite JD Drake distracting the referee and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth getting in the ring only to get the Paradigm Shift from Moxley.

We hear from Team Taz (Taz, "The Machine" Brian Cage, "Absolute" Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs, Hook). Taz says everything is fine and dandy in Team Taz, and Starks says that he had a fun time last night on Dark and is willing to forgive the past. Cage says that if Starks tagged him in sooner, they would have gotten the win sooner. Taz insists that everything is fine and that nobody can stop the path of rage.

We hear from MJF, who gifts The Pinnacle with their own personal stylist as well as their own interior decorator. When he opens the restroom door, The Inner Circle is inside, and when MJF tries to leave, Jake Hager is waiting at the door. This leads to a brawl between The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle. Shawn Spears' head gets slammed between a door and a door frame by Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager slams Wardlow through a table in the trainer's room, Santana and Ortiz attack Tully Blanchard as they throw Cash Wheeler into an ice bath and bust open Dax Harwood, and Chris Jericho gives MJF a swirly before putting him through the door of a Pepsi cooler and pouring a bottle of the bubbly on him. The Inner Circle then toss MJF out.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). Suddenly, Don Callis shows up and tells Marvez and Nick Jackson to go away before telling matt that he loves Kenny Omega like family and thought Matt felt the same until he broke his heart last week. Callis says that Omega chose The Young Bucks because they were family, but last week, he and Nick left him in the ring bleeding like an animal that he could have helped just like his father. Callis asks him if he is so dead inside that he does not care about the people who loves him, then eventually slaps him. Matt grabs him by the collar for a few seconds, then lets go, and Callis asks Matt if there is anything inside of him at all before calling him "pathetic."

Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) beat The Lucha Bros. (Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix) and Laredo Kid in a six-man tag match. After the match, Jon Moxley shows up with The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and chases Omega, The Good Brothers and Callis out of the ring.

We hear from Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. and Reba. The two of them advertise AEW Dark Elevation and Britt says it is a good platform for Thunder Rosa to get her wins up, and says it is a shame that the biggest win of her career was unsanctioned. Britt also says taht she will continue to be on Dynamite continuing to put AEW on the map.

"The Native Beast" Nyla Rose and The Bunny beat Hikaru Shida and Tay Conti after Vickie Guerrero distracts referee Aubrey Edwards on the ring apron while The Bunny hits Tay Conti with a Kendo stick.

We hear from Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt). Jungle Boy says that Bear Country (Bear Boulder and Bear Bronson) have thrown Marko Stunt around twice and tell them to pick on someone their own side, and next week, they propose a match to prove that they are on top of the food chain.

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy) beats "Superbad" Kip Sabian and Miro in an Arcade Anarchy Match. (No arcade machines were harmed during this match.) During the match, Kris Statlander appears for the first time in months following a knee injury, popping out of a prize machine and putting Penelope Ford through an air hockey table. Also, Trent returns to action for the first time in months after being dropped by his mom Sue in her minivan. Sue's minivan also gets the attention of Miro near the end of the match.

Orton says that he did what he set out to do last night and embarrassed Edge and wrote the last chapter in his redemption story, and that he should have let him save him from himself like Edge did for him. While he was not the last man standing at WrestleMania, he is standing after last night, he is the greatest wrestler ever and he does not need a title to prove it. Orton says the story is about Edge, not Christian, and that Christian is here because he wants one more match. Christian says he is here to defend Edge, but Orton says he and Edge are the same and that he cannot accept his career was taken from him. He says that while Christian is not medically cleared, they can get around it by having an unsanctioned match. Orton then gives him until the end of the night to answer, and says that if he does not answer, then it proves Christian is a coward.

Rollins says this leaves him few options, and if Dominick is part of the problem, he must be sacrificed.
