Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 10, 2026

Tatum Paxley heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Tatum says that for the longest time, she felt like she was getting noticed wrong and kept feeling alone, and wondered if everything was everything and if she should be "less Tatum." After Saturday, she realized she became a champion not because of The Culling (Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, Izzi Dame) or because somebody carried her there, but because the fans willed her to keep going, and now she has the confidence that she belongs that she has looked for for a long time. She states that she won the NXT Women's Championship for The Culling, but she won the Women's North American Championship for the fans. All of a sudden, Izzi Dame shows up.Izzi congratulates Tatum before reminding the fans of what Patum used to be like, and we see a short video package of Tatum at the start of her career. Izzi says that Tatum is fake and has not changed, and has just continued to prove that she is not a weirdo. Izzi then attacks Tatum after demanding the title back and Tatum runs into Shawn Spears and Niko Vance.

Tony D'Angelo heads to the ring. D'Angelo says that he came back for two reasons. The first is to destroy DarkState, which he did at Vengeance Day, and D'Angelo commends Dion Lennox for dying on his shield. The second reason is something "the man in the mirror" was incapable of achieving. He says that he buried his past self six feet under so he could prove he is the baddest in NXT and win the NXT Championship. He says that Joe Hendry is a sensation, and while his past self would want to break bread with him, he is now willing to break his face, then says this is not business, but personal. D'Angelo gives Hendry one warning to prepare himself for his actions, for he will not be denied and he will be NXT Champion.

Backstage, Blake Howard interviews Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid). We then hear from Vic Joseph, who says that he and Booker T were supposed to be at the announce table for three months and it has now been three years, and that next week will be "Booker T Appreciation Night."

"All Ego" Ethan Page and Ricky Saints beat Joe Hendry and Myles Borne. During the match, Saints tries to use the NXT Championship as a weapon, but the referee stops him. Saints soon hits Hendry with a Spear, but Ethan wants Saints to let him get the win. Myles Borne gets in the ring, but is stopped by the referee, and Ethan Page hits Twisted Grin on Hendry on the NXT Championship for the pin and the win.

On the way there, he encounters a fan with a "I Hate Logan Paul" T-shirt (played by independent wrestler Mike Datello) and tears the front of his shirt apart. Logan Paul is booed out of the building as he states that "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles was supposed to be out here to call him out, but he has beaten him to the punch, as he does not associate with "guys like AJ Styles." He considers his name comparable to the greats in WWE's history and says that just like them, he will do anything to get to the top, which is why he is so shocked that "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes rejected The Rock's offer. Logan says it took John Cena twenty years to realize that nice guys finish last, but he has realized this since day one and tells The Rock that his soul is for sale before mocking the fans. He then notices comedian Andrew Schulz in the front row and has a microphone passed to him and Schulz says he is here to see tonight's steel cage match between Seth "Freakin'" Rollins and CM Punk, and that nobody is here to see Logan. Schulz says this is New York City and not Cleveland, Ohio, and says New York City is a real city that likes real wrestlers, then says he wants to see AJ Styles tonight. Logan then pulls Schulz over the barricade and throws him into the ring, but AJ Styles shows up and fights Logan, eventually hitting him with a Phenomenal Forearm. Logan is left crawling out of the ring, and Styles tells Logan to get back in the ring as he is not done with him. Logan refuses to head back to the ring as Styles and Schulz celebrate.

Peter Rosenberg, two-time Grammy-nominated rapper Fabolous and Macaulay Culkin are seen in the crowd.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. Cody says he is in Madison Square Garden because it is a cathedral for WWE, yet John Cena is not here tonight, even though he will be in Brussels, Belgium for the European tour next week. He mentions that Cena has created some memorable moments in Madison Square Garden, but could not be here tonight, and Cody says it was a smart decision for Cena about as much as it was a smart decision to kick him in the nuts with back-up. The crowd chants "Let's go, Cena! Cena sucks!" Cody also begrudges Cena for stating that one must have the discipline for what needs to be done, even if you do not want to do it, and he wants to tell Cena to shut up. He says nobody defined "best for business" more than John Cena and that the fans know better, for the business has changed, and while stat counting is tacky, "17" will not happen when he beats Cena out of his last chance to become World Champion, for he is the captain now.

Ali Ahn, the cast of Selling The City," rapper Rich the Kid, and Amanda Serrano are seen in the crowd.

Raquel Rodriguez beats Bayley with help from "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio distracting the referee and Liv Morgan grabbing at Bayley to become #1 contender to the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship.

Gable says security here is pathetic and that they should have gotten him out of the building earlier. Just as Cathy Kelley thinks Gable is lying, we find out that the man in the mask is a different person altogether. Gable calls New York City security "pathetic" again, then leaves.

Actor William Jackson Harper, Broadway writer Kris Diaz, actor Josh Segarra and rapper Nardo Wick are seen in the crowd.

Michael Cole interviews Iyo Sky in the ring. Iyo says it is a dream to be here in Madison Square Garden as champion, and that she proved that the impossible is possible, just as she said. Iyo says she is now over the moon to be champion going into WrestleMania, then Bianca Belair is introduced into the ring by Michael Cole. Bianca congratulates Iyo on becoming Women's World Champion, and while they have not always seen eye to eye, she is happy for the both of them heading into WrestleMania. On the subject of Rhea Ripley losing her title, Bianca says she was not planning on anything, as she has enough drama going on as it was and that she was not taking anything from Rhea. As Bianca says she is focusing on WrestleMania, Rhea shows up. Bianca says she wanted to see when Rhea asks Bianca wanted when she watched her and Iyo's match at ringside, and says there was no reason for her to be there last week as she handled her business just like Bianca should have handled hers with Jade Cargill and Naomi. Bianca says Rhea is mad because she clapped for Iyo and not for her, and that this is a defense mechanism because she cannot beat Iyo herself and has to blame her. Rhea shoves Iyo, as does Bianca, when she approaches them as Rhea and Bianca accuse the other of hiding behind other people. Iyo finally has enough and slaps both of them, then leaves.

NXT Women's North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer and NXT Women's Champion Giulia are seen in the crowd.

Seth "Freakin'" Rollins beats CM Punk in a steel cage match after he is suddenly yanked out of the cage by Roman Reigns, who proceeds to attack Rollins on the outside after the match. He then hits Rollins with The Stomp before threating to end it all for Rollins, which causes officials led by General Manager Adam Pearce to show up and stop Roman. Roman then sees Paul Heyman in the ring with CM Punk, and Roman gets in the steel cage and attacks Punk, shoving him into two of the cage walls before hitting him with a Spear to end the show.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus beat LA Knight, Xavier Woods and Karrion Kross in a Fatal 5-Way to apparently become #1 contenders for the WWE Intercontinental Championship after Woods gets a pump kick and Knight gets a Claymore Kick before being pinned by Sheamus and McIntyre, respectively. Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vinci) watch from the stage in the latter half of the match. A second referee shows up to count one of the two pins at the same time as the other. After the match, Sheamus and McIntyre have a staredown while the crowd chants "Triple Threat."

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Paul Heyman. Heyman looks off to the side before admitting he was not paying attention, as he is more preoccupied with "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes getting involved in Bloodline business, considering it a sort of counter-attack. He says that The Bloodline goes to him to figure out how to take down opponents, and says that together, The Bloodline cannot be stopped. He then admits Cody is - stylistically - a nightmare to them. Heyman says that Roman Reigns has stated that the most "gangster" thing that The Bloodline can hit Cody with is the truth, and the truth already makes Cody a defeated opponent who will acknowledge Roman Reigns.

Backstage, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre argue until Ridge Holland and Butch have to run in and get Sheamus away from McIntyre.

Rey Mysterio is the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Afterwards, Rey Mysterio heads to the ring. Before Rey can say anything, Dominik Mysterio shows up with the rest of The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley). Dominik calls the induction of "a washed up old man" into the WWE Hall of Fame "pathetic" and asks how holidays, birthdays and soccer games Rey missed to make his Hall of Fame career. He then says Rhea Ripley was right and that he is ashamed to be Rey's son. All of a sudden, Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Zelina Vega) shows up. Santos Escobar says Rey may have gotten over what Dominik did last week, but he has not. He says that their teams should be having a match later tonight, then proposes having it right now. A referee then shows up to make it happen.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio) beat Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro) after Dominik hits Rey Mysterio with a baseball slide as Rey argues with Rhea Ripley at ringside, allowing for some cheap tacts that give The Judgment Day the win. After the match, Dominik Mysterio tells Rey that he wants a "man-to-man" with him and asks the rest of The Judgment Day to leave. Rey gets in the ring, and Dominik wants to know why Rey is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and not "The Deadbeat Dad Hall of Fame." He then says that at the end of the day, he should have been "Eddie's son." Rey and Dominik have a war of words, then Dominik shoves Rey. As Rey heads out of the ring, Dominik rushes in for a cheap shot, but Rey ducks and Dominik tumbles out of the ring. Rey says he will still not fight Dominik.

Backstage, WWE official Adam Pearce suddenly meets Charlotte Flair, who says that it is WrestleMania season and that she wants any sort of match she can get tonight. Adam Pearce says he will find her a suitable opponent.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat Braun Strowman and Ricochet after Valhalla helps Erik avoid being run down by Strowman at ringside before creeping out Ricochet for long enough to allow Ivar to recover in the ring.

Backstage, WWE official Adam Pearce meets with Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vinci). Gunther says Pearce had one job to get him a challenger for the Intercontinental Championship and calls this a dereliction of his duties. Pearce says Sheamus and McIntyre will wrestle next week to decide a true #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

Charlotte Flair beats Shotzi with the Spear followed by the Figure Eight. During the match, Rhea Ripley shows up to watch the match from ringside. After the match, Rhea Ripley gets in the ring and says watching Charlotte Flair tonight reminded her of why she chose her after winning the women's Royal Rumble, then tells her to wipe the smirk off her face, as she sees not only acceptance but insecurity in her eyes. She then proclaims that she will take away the one thing that makes her feel important when she beats her at WrestleMania for the SmackDown Women's Champion. Charlotte says Rhea may have improved, but so has she, and regardless of what people think of that, she will outwork anyone, as she takes this business seriously. She says Rhea may rip apart anyone in her way, but she will not do that to her.

WrestleMania 39 is 22 days away!

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) head to the ring. Jey Uso asks the fans what they would do if they had to make a huge choice for their family, then says he turned on Sami because he had to. He says he did not want to do it, but he had no choice because Jimmy is his blood. He says that the fans do not know what he is going through, and that the only person he blames is Sami Zayn. Jey then calls Sami Zayn "selfish" and says all Sami had to do was fall in line, and that he knows nothing about that because he is not blood and never will be. Jimmy Uso then says that "the Sami Zayn problem" is rid of and that the only problem is "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes, who soon shows up. Eddie says that the fans will turn on Alexander like they did on him. Alexander says Eddie is making excuses for his shortcomings and reminds him that he came up short-handed when he had his shot at Turning Point, and that he is part of Honor No More because he lost his edge and got complacent. Taven tells Alexander not to talk to Eddie like that before listing off Eddie's accolades as well as introducing himself and listing off his own and saying the difference between them is that their reigns don't end prematurely. Alexander says that when Taven is world champion, he puts companies out of business, then says that six more obstacles are nothing to him at this point. He says that Jay White did what he had to do to become the best wrester in the world and that he respects that, then says there was a part of him that was exempt from his disrespect and that as much as his sternum hurts, the disrespect hurt worse. Jay White tells Shelley that is his fault after he made it a personal issue, then says it was just business for him and that Shelley made the mistake of thinking he knew him following the history made and records broken since he last saw him. He then says he is "King Switch" and "the catalyst" and that everything in pro wrestling happens because of him, but Shelley says he is the king of a generation and that if it weren't for him, there would be no Jay White.
