Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for March 1, 2018

Tyrus beats Ethan Carter III.

Joseph Park is on the phone with Grandma Jenny, promising that he will never bring Abyss back and that he will face Kongo Kong himself, even though they both agree that Joseph doesn't have a chance.

We hear from oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan), who tell Eddie Edwards that if he thinks he can stick his nose in the business, then they will take it personally and they will have people everywhere watching him. He says oVe is a religion, and they will hurt him to prove a point as they take control of everything.

El Hijo del Fantasma beats Braxton Sutter. After the match, he asks if this is it for him and says Allie isn't out here because she ruins lives. He says he has been kicked, spit on and disrespected too many times, and no matter how many times he goes to management, he is the biggest star everyone has ever seen and he did not even get an entrance tonight. Suddenly, "The Machine" Brian Cage shows up and drives Braxton Sutter into the mat.

The Pluto TV Rewind of the Week is Scott Steiner's debut on March 12, 2006.

We see a video package where "Reborn" Matt Sydal talks about his time as Impact Grand Champion, and says he wants to share his spirit guide with everyone.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews "Reborn" Matt Sydal backstage. Sydal says with him, there is no hope or try; his third eye is open and the X Division Championship is his destiny. Suddenly, Taiji Ishimori shows up and hands Sydal a scroll in which Ishimori demands that Sydal defend the Grand Championship in their match as well so he can take two titles back to Japan and tell everyone how Sydal is a choke artist. He also goes on to call Sydal a douchebag.

Kongo Kong beats Joseph Park. After the match, Jimmy Jacobs asks Joseph Park is Abyss is going to "come out and play." Kongo Kong then chokes Joseph Park out with a scarf, and Jimmy says they do not have to come out this way before he asks him again two more times. Joseph Park cannot answer due to being choked out, and Jimmy Jacobs tells him that they are just getting started.

The Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley) are having a celebration, saying that they have The Latin-American Xchange shook and that they are going to take the tag team titles. Trevor Lee then tells Caleb Konley that the tropical party that Caleb is throwing is not what he had in mind, and The Mumbai Cats show up. Trevor Lee apologizes to the Cats, saying he and Caleb thought they were LAX. Suddenly, Konnan shows up and tells The Cult of Lee that they will not be taking the tag team titles and he is surprised they're not "doing cartwheels in their Wonder Woman bikinis." They then find out Konnan is not alone, as The Mumbai Cats unmask to reveal they are Santana and Ortiz. They try to shove The Cult of Lee's faces into the pool before throwing them in, and tell them they will be coming back for the bandannas they stole.

Alberto El Patron tells Johnny Impact and Austin Aries they have taken the spot that belongs to him, and that it should be him competing to be the Impact World Championship. He says it doesn't matter, and they can pretend to do something amazing and be real men. At the end of the day, they will have to face him, for if you are not with him, you are against him. He says that Johnny and Aries are just faces for him, and that the main goal is destruction and becoming Impact World Champion.

Rosemary beats Hania the Huntress. After the match, Rosemary says Hania thought she wanted to play, but she is nothing more than a puppy dog and she is still the alpha bitch. She asks the fans if they should prove that once and for all and take back the Impact Knockouts Championship, and says she will stop at nothing to reclaim it. Suddenly, Taya Valkyrie shows up for the first time since January, and asks Rosemary if she missed her, saying her fans did. She has been listening to what Rosemary has had to say, and she finds it hilarious as the "bitch part" is the only truth in it. She says that Rosemary should be called her bitch from now on, then they stare down before Taya leaves. Both women get on the apron on opposite sides, but Taya attacks as soon as Rosemary turns her back before hitting Road To Valhalla on the ramp.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week is Eddie Edwards vs. Lashley for the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship from 2016.

We see a video package of the events of the last several months that have Laurel Van Ness into who she currently is, which has led to her commitment ceremony with the Impact Knockouts Championship tonight.

The commitment ceremony between Laurel Van Ness and the Impact Knockouts Championship takes place. KM brings the Impact Knockouts Championship out to the ring and asks as the minister for the ceremony. KM reveals that he is an ordained minister and that he has married both straight and gay couples, but tonight, he will be marrying a woman with an inanimate object. When he asks if anybody has any objections as to why Laurel Van Ness should not marry the Knockouts Championship, someone shows up. That person is Braxton Sutter, who is now in a neck brace after being plowed into the mat by Brian Cage, and that your life does not flash before your eyes before you die. He says the only thing he saw that was important to him was Laurel Van Ness, and that one year ago, he made the biggest mistake of his life when he left her at the altar, and says that Allie ruins people's lives. He says that Van Ness is doing great, and while he is not here to stop the marriage, he loves her, and proposes that the two of them - and the Impact Knockouts Championship - live in holy matrimony. Laurel Van Ness says no, and tells him to get out. KM asks for any more objections on Van Ness' behalf, Van Ness wants to make sure. All of a sudden, someone sneaks into the ring dressed in all black, and this time, it is Allie, who goes after Laurel Van Ness and beats her up.

We see another message from oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan). Callihan simply says "Thumbs up...thumbs down."

It is announced that Allie will challenge Laurel Van Ness for the Impact Knockouts Championship next week at Crossroads, and that Taiji Ishimori vs. "Reborn" Matt Sydal will be for both the Impact X Division and Grand Championships in a Title vs. Title Match. It is also announced that The Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley) will face The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) for the Impact Tag Team Championships next week, and that Lashley and Eddie Edwards will take on oVe (Jake and Dave Crist) at the event.

We see a video package for Johnny Impact vs. Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship next week at Crossroads.

Eddie Edwards beats Sami Callihan with a roll-up. The rest of oVe (Jake and Dave Crist) get ejected from ringside after attempted interference during the match. After the match, Sami Callihan attacks Eddie Edwards and attacks him with a nailbat before hitting him with a shoulder breaker. Backstage, Lashley is on his way to the ring when he is attacked by the rest of oVe (Jake and Dave Crist). Sami Callihan then places an opened steel chair on top of Eddie Edwards and smacks the bat into the chair as oVe keep Lashley pinned down backstage. (The bat swing by Callihan is botched, however, and the bat ends up meeting his face, causing Edwards to bleed profusely and also suffer a black eye in the process.)

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for June 17, 2015

The show begins with a tribute to Dusty Rhodes.

Mike Tenay hosts the contract signing for Ethan Carter III vs. Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. After both men get in the ring, they get a chance to have their say prior to the bout. Ethan Carter III lays some sweet poetry about whom Kurt Angle has beaten in his career before telling him that unlike all those legends, he hasn't been beaten and that he will be Angle's endgame. Angle says the best matches are made for him, and that this one will be no different, especially when he plans to make this match a nightmare for EC3. According to the contract, both men will have "tune-up matches" prior to the match that will happen in 14 days' time, and EC3 finds out straight from Angle that he's facing Lashley.

Before The Wolves (Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards) and The Dirty Heels (Bobby Roode and Austin Aries) face off in Match 4 of their Best of Five Series, The Wolves say that the tag team titles are what counts as they signify who is the best tag team in the world, and that they have proven that before with every tag team that's been thrown in their path. After they call The Wolves call The Dity Heels out, Bobby Roode shows up and says Austin Aries isn't medically cleared due to his match with Kurt Angle last week, and that he and Aries call the shots. The Wolves then challenge Roode to a singles match, and Roode almost doesn't want to do it until he comes up with a grand idea in order to see how badly The Wolves want him in the ring: whoever wins the match gets to pick the stipulation for the fourth match in their Best of Five Series. They like the idea, and Eddie Edwards challenges Roode to a match, right here, right now. Roode accepts the challenge.

Eddie Edwards beats Bobby Roode when Austin Aries suddenly shows up and tosses a steel chair to Roode only for Davey Richards to take it from him, leading to Edwards stacking Roode up off the distraction. Richards and Edwards immediately pick Full Metal Mayhem as the stipulation for Match 4 of their Best of Five Series.

Jeremy Borash runs into Joseph Park, who has fallen on hard times since his ugly exit from Impact Wrestling. He plans to make a comeback by challenging Bram tonight.

Bram is backstage. He doesn't like cameras, apparently.

Bram beats Joseph Park after putting him through a table.

Taryn Terrell has set up a stipulation for tonight's tag match between The Dollhouse (Taryn, Jade, Marti Bell) and the team of Brooke and Awesome Kong. If Brooke and Kong win, they both get a shot at the Knockouts title. If they lose, they can never get a Knockouts title shot for as long as she holds the title.

The world is burning. Playtime's over...

Brooke and Awesome Kong beat The Dollhouse (Jade and Marti Bell) to secure title shots at Taryn Terrell and the TNA Knockouts Championship.

Chris Melendez shows up. He's not happy at all that Eric Young ripped his prosthetic leg and disrespected him and everything he represents. He calls out Eric Young, who shows up promptly. He shows impressive respect for Melendez' military career, but says he doesn't care about him, the fans or anybody except himself. As for ripping his leg out and choking him with it, he came up with the idea on the spur of the moment. When he asks how badly Melendez wants him alone in the ring next week, Melendez makes it clear he wants him very badly. The match is on for next week.

Jessie Godderz beats DJ Z with the Boston Crab. After the match, he tells DJ Z that his attack on him was no mistake, and tortures him as he puts himself on a pedestal, saying he's the reason that he and Robbie E won the tag team titles twice. As he goes for a press slam on DJ Z, Robbie E shows up and brawls with Jessie, forcing Jessie to retreat.

Magnus shows up and threatens to crack open some heads until "The Cowboy" James Storm comes out. Security shows up, followed by Storm. Storm tries to sow distrust between Magnus and Mickie James and make himself look like the bad guy, then pulls out a baby stroller that he plans to use as an "insurance policy" against Magnus. Magnus goes after Storm, and decks the security guards that hold him back only to find out that the stroller only has a doll inside and not his son Donovan. Storm runs away and Magnus gives chase.

Ethan Carter III beats Lashley despite three referees having to make the count due to Tyrus attacking all of them.

AJ Styles then finally tells Dixie Carter that she doesn't get wrestling. Magnus shows up and tells Dixie to leave the ring. She does. Magnus tells AJ his time is up. If Roode wins, Angle cannot accept a TNA Hall of Fame induction. Angle accepts for Genesis, and wants the match in a steel cage. Roode angrily accepts, then both men fight until the refs break it up. Eric Young's experiment with Joseph Park continues with Park taking on Bully Ray. Bully tells Park it's not in his best interest to get in the ring with him tonight.

It's soon just him and Magnus in the ring, and Styles says he's here because Dixie Carter screwed the fans over. He calls Magnus a farce, then challenges him to a match where the winner is the undisputed TNA champ. Hardy grabs Spud by the throat and pushes him into the corner, but he gets attacked by Ethan Carter III soon afterward. Sting shows up before Dixie can speak again. He's tired of entitled punks running the show, and says he won't leave until he gets a match with Ethan...but he gets a better idea. Since Rockstar Spud originally came to TNA to wrestle, he wants a tag match between the team of Sting and Hardy vs EC3 and Spud. Carter makes the match, but can't make the announcement as the music continues to play just before the commercial break.

He says he used her, but says she "wasn't very good for certain uses." Bully does not blame Brooke for not being TNA World Heavyweight Champion anymore or the dissolution of Aces and Eights, but still says he'd rather be with Brooke Hogan. Instead, it's Brooke Tessmacher, and it's confirmed that she's Bully's newest girlfriend as well as the woman he's talked to on the phone all this time. Tessmacher then removes Bully's wedding ring with her mouth and spits it out. Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan are now officially done.

The first is the one Hogan calls out: last year's winner Jeff Hardy, who is ready to win it all again and get the title this time around. Bobby Roode comes out and talks about how he was the longest-reigning TNA champion and how he's won the series before. Hulk Hogan sets it up so that the fans can vote for which man gets the first call-out on Open Fight Night next week. Roode promises to call out Hardy and kick his ass if he wins, but Hardy tells him "Kick my ass now!" Suddenly, Aces and Eights show up and Bully Ray says he'll come out on top no matter who wins the BFG series. He also asks why none of his clubmates are in BFG, and Hulk Hogan says there's one spot for them...but they'll all have to face each other in a battle royal to get it. Bully Ray is not amused, and deems Roode and Hardy targets. Aces and Eights go after them, but Roode and Hardy clean house. Roode then gets a cheap shot on Hardy and flees.

Mickie James says it's great to be champ again, and she thanks the fans for their support. It's been a long time coming, but it was worth it. She then addresses how she won through taking advantage of Velvet Sky's bum knee, and she does this by calling out Velvet Sky, who shows up. They both come to common ground, as Velvet asks for a rematch at Slammiversary. Sadly, there's already a Knockouts match for that night, but Velvet Sky is still more than welcome to one. Gail Kim shows up and says that after she takes out Taryn Terrell, she's going for the gold again. When Velvet tells Gail to get in line, Gail attacks her bad knee yet again. Terrell has to run in and stop her, but Gail escapes before Taryn can get in the ring.

Mr. Anderson of Aces and Eights shows up and tells him - and everyone - that AJ Styles will be "patched in" next week, meaning that Styles is joining Aces and Eights. He then makes an announcement as per Hulk Hogan: at Slammiversary, it will be Bad Influence (Daniels and Kazarian), the team of Bobby Roode and Austin Aries, the team of Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez...and Storm and a partner of his choice for the tag team titles! It's a four-team tag team match for the tag titles at Slammiversary!

Joseph Park beats D'Lo Brown when D'Lo Brown bloodies Park up, making him angry...causing D'Lo to eat a Black Hole Slam!

The contract signing between Sting and Bully Ray for their match at Slammiversary occurs. Bully Ray calls out Sting, then calls out Hulk Hogan. Sting tells Bully Ray to make him bleed before he does the same to Bully Ray, and asks for a no-holds-barred match. Bully accepts, but only if he signs the contract, which states that if Sting loses, he can never compete for the World title again. Hulk Hogan tells him not to do it, but Sting accepts. Bully chastises her for not wearing her wedding ring, and says she should be happy with him. Also, the manila folder does not contains divorce papers, as Bully Ray tells her. Instead, it's a front row ticket to next week's main event at Corpus Christi, Texas. He wants her to be at his side when he beats Jeff Hardy and retains the World Heavyweight title. He then tells Brooke "You've really let yourself go." She then tears up the ticket and slaps him in the face, but Bully just laughs it off and tells her he's in her head. Hardy finally runs in, and the show ends with him and Bully going at it.
