Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 26, 2024

In memory of Sid Eudy "Sycho Sid", 1960 - 2024.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan) head to the ring to start tonight's show. After a replay of what they did to Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest last week, JD McDonagh says the beating they got was a long time coming, and Finn Balor says Rhea and Priest are the bad guys around here, not them, due to their betrayal. He says that they deserved that beating and that it is a preview of what will happen at Bash In Berlin. Liv thanks Rhea for putting herself in the position to lose The Judgment Day, and says she will find out that she and Dominik will always be on top. Dominik says that Liv does things for her that Rhea has never done, like help him beat "[his] deadbeat day" Rey Mysterio, and with her full support, he is entering the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's Tournament and winning the whole thing. The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Dragon Lee) suddenly shows up, and Rey tells Dominik that he is a lost soul and needs help, and that when he was with Rhea, "one of you had a set, and it sure wasn't [Dominik]." Rey says somebody needs to put Dominik in his place, but Dominik says he beat him and had him disappear for weeks. Rey says that Dominik was always a jackass, but now that he is with Liv, he is "an even bigger jackass." Liv takes offense to that statement, and Rey threatens to slap the moustache off Dominik's face. Dominik says he would like to see him try, and McDonagh goes for a cheap shot only for Rey to punch him back. The Latino World Order soon cleans house.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito) beats The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Dragon Lee) in an eight-man tag team match after Liv Morgan pulls Dominik out of the way of Rey's top rope splash, allowing Dominik to pin Rey with a La Magistral Cradle for the win. After the match, The Judgment Day continues to attack The Latino World Order. As Dominik is about to splash Rey through the announce table, Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest show up. Rhea beats up Liv, and Damian Priest distracts Dominik long enough for him to run into Rhea. Liv jumps on top of Rhea, and Priest fends off the rest of The Judgment Day, but Rhea and Priest soon stand tall. Carlito gets South of Heaven, while JD McDonagh gets Riptide after receiving a strong clothesline from Rhea just seconds beforehand.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews The Miz. Miz admits that he has had a bad couple of weeks, and it feels like every time he does the right thing, something goes wrong. He says that it time to right some wrongs and get one step closer to the Intercontinental Championship. "Big" Bronson Reed shows up and says Miz came after him because he took out R-Truth, and R-Truth came after him for taking out Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. He tells Miz that after he decimates Braun Strowman, he will come back for him.

Backstage, Xavier Woods is met by Kofi Kingston. Woods and Kofi bury the hatchet regarding last week and focus on the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's Tournament.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Pure Fusion Collective (Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler). They brag about injuring Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Dakota Kai and Zelina Vega, and state that Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane) will be added to that count before telling them to step up and shoot their shot.

Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane) beat Pure Fusion Collective (Zoey Stark and "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler) after Zelina Vega attacks Sonya Deville on the outside.

We see VHS cassette footage of Bo Dallas looking back on his accomplishments. He says that past mistakes will not be made again, as the false prophet continues to make himself known to the world as a loving shepherd leading his sheep into the mouths of wolves. He says that American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile) is not a family, but blasphemy, and that The Wyatt Sicks (Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross) have given Chad Gable chance and chance, yet Gable has refused to remove the scales from his eyes. He says that they must cut the head of the snake so that the blood can wash away the sins of the damned. Bo Dallas accepts Gable's challenge, and says that what is about to happen is more than a reckoning; it is a purge.

Drew McIntyre heads to the ring. McIntyre makes fun of CM Punk's promos, then says he is telling the truth and that the truth is that Punk is scared of him, which he has known since Royal Rumble after Punk kept attacking him from behind every chance he got. He says that the fans continue to chant Punk's name despite this, and accuses the fans of being enablers for CM Punk before stating that what Punk will be going through in their strap match will be on them. McIntyre says the fans has chosen nostalgia over what is going on right now, and as he states that Punk will regret challenging him to a strap match as he lashes him again and again, Punk shows up behind McIntyre and strikes McIntyre with a leather strap. McIntyre and Punk soon brawl, and when McIntyre gets the upper hand, he grabs the strap only to be slammed into the commentary table and struck with the leather strap again. Security shows up to break up the brawl, and McIntyre is able to flee through the crowd before Punk takes out a few members of security.

We hear from Braun Strowman, who reminds "Big" Bronson Reed that when he gets in the ring with him, he will find out why he is called "The Monster Among Monsters."

"Main Event" Jey Uso beats Karrion Kross and Kofi Kingston in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's Tournament.

In Instagram footage from earlier today, Gunther says he is focused on Bash In Berlin, for as much as SummerSlam was the day that he saved professional wrestling, Bash In Berlin will be the day that Randy Orton will have met his match.

Randy Orton heads to the ring. Orton says that for the entirety of his career, he has listened to the voices in his head, but as of late, he has been listening to the voices of the fans, and he thanks them for the warm reception, saying it means the world to him even if it took fifteen years. He says he won a lot of titles in his career, but the won that he loves the most is the World Heavyweight Championship, as it is the first world title that he won and that he has history engrained in that built. He also talks about how he retired the original World Heavyweight title after unifying it with the WWE Championship, but when the title was re-introduced, he was at home recovering from spinal fusion history and did not know if he would compete ever again. Orton says that he wants to engrain his name in the World Heavyweight Championship again and that he has the opportunity on Saturday to create a new legacy. He says that he will be stepping into enemy territory in Berlin, Germany and that he will be facing a living legend in Gunther, whose head is shoved so far up his own ass that he has no idea what he will be facing in him. Orton says he grew up in the front of the WWE fans and that he signed his first contract when he was nineteen years old, and that the fans have watched him become humble and learn from his mistakes over and over again until he stepped out from the shadows and took them out one by one. He says that Gunther was an arrogant young prick at that age and that this may be the one thing they have in common, and while he may have been humbled, Gunther has never been put in his place, which will happen on Saturday. Orton says it only had to be about the World Heavyweight Championship, but Gunther made it personal by talking about his family and his personal demons. He says he has beaten those demons, which are more powerful than any opponent Gunther has ever known. He then says he will beat Gunther just like he beat his personal demons.

We hear from The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn), who say that Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are not the unstoppable force they were thought to be, and that they will expose them for the frauds that they are while staying Women's Tag Team Champions.

Braun Strowman vs. "Big" Bronson Reed ends with a parking lot brawl and Bronson Reed hitting Braun Strowman with the Tsunami on top of a car. After the break, medical staff checks on Braun Strowman, who says that he cannot feel his fingers. Meanwhile, "Big" Bronson Reed has walked off the scene under his own power, refusing medical attention.

Pete Dunne beats The Miz and Xavier Woods in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's Tournament after pulling the referee out of the ring during a pinfall attempt by Woods, booting Woods in the face and hitting The Miz with the Bitter End.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews Bron Breakker. Breakker congratulates "Main Event" Jey Uso and Pete Dunne for qualifying, then warns Jey Uso to keep his name out of his mouth as a member of Jey's family has never beaten a member of his family. He then warns the eventual tournament winner that the worst is yet to come.

We hear from Chad Gable and American Made (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile), saying he does not hide behind a mask and has his family do his dirty work. He then says that the world will find out that Bo Dallas is an ordinary guy who has been messing with someone who is not only anything but extraordinary, but also "American Made."

We hear from Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Priest says The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan) have given their explanation, and says they are indeed the bad guy. Rhea says The Judgment Day made them the bad guys that they are. Priest says The Judgment Day want to play victim, but they will become victims at Bash In Berlin, while Rhea Ripley says that they will show no mercy.

WWE acknowledges the life and career of Sid Eudy, also known as "Sid Justice," "Sycho Sid," and "Sid Vicious."

Uncle Howdy beats Chad Gable after Ivy Nile distracts the referee only for Howdy to send Gable into the referee when he breaks out of the ankle lock. This leads to The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) showing up to attack Uncle Howdy, but Howdy laughs and the lights go out. The rest of The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan) show up to go on the attack, and they, The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile all fight their way through the crowd while Gable and Uncle Howdy fight it out in the ring again. At this point, the referee has come to. Uncle Howdy then hits Gable with Sister Abigail for the win.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 9, 2018

Backstage, Roman Reigns is stopped by Bobby Lashley on his way to the ring. Roman tells Lashley to get out of the way, and Lashley tells him that if he calls him out, he will come out to tear him apart, not to talk. Lashley then allows Roman passage to Gorilla position, then Roman Reigns heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Roman says that after this week, there is a lot he could talk about right now, but he has never had anyone stare into his face and dare him to call him out. He then says he is curious about what Bobby Lashley can do, and calls him out anyway. Lashley shows up, and Lashley and Roman stare down as Lashley steps through the ropes. Suddenly, General Manager Kurt Angle and Constable Baron Corbin show up, and Angle tells Roman and Lashley to save it for Sunday. Roman and Lashley immediately brawl in the ring, and the Raw locker room has to come out with a few referees and officials to keep both men apart. Both men are in corner, but Lashley manages to break free and attempts to get another piece of Roman Reigns. Roman manages to slide out of the ring as more members of the Raw locker room get in the ring to keep Lashley away from Roman. Lashley makes it out of the ring and goes at Roman again, but the entire locker room manages to keep both men separated. Lashley is pushed towards the ramp, but even taht does not stop him and he knocks Roman down. The rest of the locker room gets into place, but not after Roman and Lashley get some offense in on each other again. Lashley then drags Roman into the ring, but the rest of the locker room keeps Lashley from following him in there. This does not stop Roman Reigns from hitting a tope con hiro to the outside and landing on part of the locker room as well as Lashley. Roman then makes his way up the ramp, where he is kept away from Lashley once again. Even this does not stop Roman from running down the side of the ramp and jumping on Lashley one more time, and this time a brawl spills out on the entrance ramp. After this, the brawling ends for good as Roman goes to the back.

Backstage, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James cannot believe what they have just seen on the monitor, and Alexa says it will be nothing compared to the pain they will deliver to Natalya and Nia Jax tonight.

Nia Jax and Natalya beat Alexa Bliss and Mickie James. Immediately after the match, Alexa Bliss repeatedly hits Nia Jax with a Kendo stick. Nia manages to catch the Kendo stick, hit Alexa with it, chase her out of the ring, break it over her knee and run Mickie and Alexa all the way up the ramp. She then chases them to the back.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Nia Jax, who says Alexa Bliss will try anything to wear her down. She says that Alexa can't break her, but she can break Alexa, and this Sunday, she will break Alexa in half. Nia says she won't forget what Alexa has done to her, and she will pay her back inch by crushing inch as she takes back the Raw Women's Championship.

We see a video package of what happened between Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman last week.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is met by Kevin Owens, who brings his bags as he says he is coming in to work. Owens thinks Angle has it in for him, and Angle laughs until Owens pulls out a doctor's note saying he's not medically cleared tonight. Owens then says he is still here and that he is hiding in the office as he knows Strowman will not get him there.

The Hemenway Family are the recipients of the Little Caesars Seat Upgrade.

Mojo Rawley beats No Way Jose.

We see footage from earlier today where Sasha Banks and Bayley, but this time Dr. Shelby is not the therapist. Bayley thinks that Sasha Banks will never stop caring about only herself.

Backstage, Seth Rollins meets Jinder Mahal, who tells him that life is beautiful and that instead of burning it down, he should embrace it. Seth plays along, which leads to a "Shanti" chant. Seth awkwardly walks away.

Seth Rollins shows up. Seth says that Boston, Massachusetts knows how to party, and says that over the years, the fans have given him some pretty nice nicknames, but the one that matters right now is "Former Intercontinental Champion." He says that he has the opportunity to change that by facing Dolph Ziggler in a 30-minute Iron Man Match at Extreme Rules, and the man with the most victories in that time will walk out with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He knows that Ziggler is no joke and that he will bring the fight, but he will also bring Drew McIntyre with him as well. Nevertheless, he is still "Seth Freakin' Rollins," and when it comes to Dolph and Drew, nothing matters. Suddenly, Dolph and Drew show up, and Dolph thanks Seth for all the kind words before saying he will not just bring his ability as well as Drew with him, but also the Intercontinental Championship. Dolph promises he will walk out still Intercontinental Champion, and Drew tells Seth it will not be all bad as Seth will still have all his nicknames as well as a career-defining loss that previewed the future of Raw. Dolph tells Seth he is still the man and one of the best to step in the ring, but tells him he is no Dolph Ziggler, and says that he is so good, he may be walking out Sunday with a clean sweep. As Seth tells Dolph he's bleached his hair for too long, Dolph tells Seth that he wins an Iron Man Match by racking up victory after victory, not whatever he does in a Crossfit gym. Dolph then talks about how he walked out of Kent State University as the most winningest amateur wrestler in school history, and after some joking around between Drew and Seth, Seth tells Drew that where he's really going is where Dolph tells him to go. Seth questions why Drew is following Dolph around and doing what he tells him, then chalks it up to Dolph knowing Drew's secret and implies that Drew commits fornication with sheep. Dolph and Drew get angry with Seth, and Drew challenges Seth to fight him tonight to prove he is the man. Seth accepts and tells Drew that he is a "baaaaaaad man," making sheep noises as he says "bad." Dolph and Drew go after Seth, who slides out of the ring.

Backstage, The B-Team, dressed as Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt, continue to mock the men they are dressed as.

Before the match, Curtis Axel, parodying Matt Hardy, says that The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) will become the new Raw tag team champs this Sunday. Bo, as Bray Wyatt, says he will devour their souls, then the lights go out and Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt appear on the TitanTron. Matt Hardy says enough with the dialogue, as the time for fun and games is over. Bray Wyatt says laughter is contagious, but so is fear, and Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have been infected. Bray says they are the cure, and Matt says they will eat and delete The B-Team. Bray Wyatt asks why they should wait for Sunday when they are here. When the lights come back on, Matt and Bray are behind The B-Team, who soon flee before starting the next match.

Bo Dallas beats Matt Hardy after Matt Hardy is distracted by Curtis Axel attacking Bray Wyatt. After the match, the lights turn off, then back on. Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy then rush into the ring and overpower The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel).

It is announced that Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre is official for later tonight.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Bobby Lashley, who says that while he has respect for everyone he steps in the ring, he has none for Roman Reigns after everything that has happened. He does, however, like that Roman wants to fight him, and when they fight Sunday, Roman won't be walking out afterwards.

Backstage, Tyler Breeze hands Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan some Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) shirts to stay on "the fashion straight and narrow," but Liv and Sarah tear them up.

We hear from Alexa Bliss, who says that while Raw Women's Champion is a joy, nothing was more exhilirating than hitting Nia Jax with a Kendo Stick. She says she is saving the violence for Sunday, when Ronda Rousey will be watching front and center when she becomes champ again.

Ember Moon beats Liv Morgan with a jackknife pin out of a roll-up from Liv Morgan after punching Sarah Logan off the apron.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Finn Balor, but Bobby Roode suddenly shows up and says he and Finn are cut from the same cloth. He says they are unstoppable, and while Constable Baron Corbin can say whatever he wants, there is nobody better than Finn Balor. After tonight, they are going to be victorious as well as glorious. Finn then says that Corbin thinks he is the brain of the operations, but tonight, Corbin is twice as good as he is and he and Roode will do the talking in the ring.

We look back on Daniel Bryan's WWE World Heavyweight Championship win at WrestleMania 30, courtesy of Skyscraper.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle and Kevin Owens talk about the air quality in the room, then Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up. Angle tells Drew that if Seth Rollins beats him tonight, then Drew is banned from ringside at Seth and Dolph's match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules. Drew isn't bothered, saying that Seth Rollins won't win tonight.

Before the next match, Elias says it has been two weeks since he has performed, and then announces that he will soon be putting out a debut album. He then proceeds to play and sing for the Boston, Massachusetts crowd, mocking Bobby Roode and Finn Balor before saying he can't stand the city. He gets booed as he says that he wants to punch the people in their faces for their Boston accents, then begins to feel that the Boston crowd does not appreciate him for all that he is. He then says somebody appreciates him for what he is, and introduces his tag team partner for tonight, Baron Corbin. Corbin shows up and says that the people in Boston clearly do not respect him, then proposes singing a lullaby for Finn Balor while Elias plays guitar. Corbin sings "Itsy Bitsy Balor," then Finn Balor shows up for the next match.

Elias and Baron Corbin beat Finn Balor and Bobby Roode.

As Kevin Owens offers General Manager Kurt Angle the last bite of something backstage, Braun Strowman shows up. Angle says he invited Strowman, and tells Owen that at Extreme Rules, Owens and Strowman will be in a steel cage match at Extreme Rules. Braun Strowman says he smells something, then grabs Owens' air freshener and says Owens reeks of fear before spraying him with the air freshener.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Roman Reigns, who says that he wanted to fight Bobby Lashley tonight before Extreme Rules, as he has no respect for him and saw the fire in his eyes. He says that Lashley won't beat him Sunday, as he has that killer instinct that Lashley doesn't know about. He plans to beat him and move on to bigger and better things while Lashley will be the guy somewhere else.

Drew McIntyre beats Seth Rollins as Rollins is busy dealing with both him and Seth Rollins. (Had McIntyre lost, he would have been banned from ringside during the 30-minute Iron Man Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules.)

Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 4, 2017

General Manger Kurt Angle shows up to start tonight's show. There will also be an Intercontinental title as well. Before it can be announced, Jason Jordan shows up. Jason Jordan says he wants Roman Reigns. Angle tells him his knee is still taped up, but Jason Jordan insists he is still fine, and says since he showed up on Raw, he has held his own against the best. He then mentions Roman Reigns' open challenge to anyone who wants to step up and take the Intercontinental title. He knows he can take Roman Reigns; he just needs the chance. Suddenly, Roman Reigns shows up. Roman tells Kurt he is a fighting champion, but he is not fighting Jason Jordan; instead, he wants Samoa Joe. He then gives Jason Jordan advice: if he wants opportunity, he should step up and take it, not run to Kurt Angle. Jason Jordan thinks this is a joke, and says Roman is the poster boy for everything WWE management wants. Roman jokes that he's been on a lot of posters and chairs because he's main evented a lot of shows, but it is because he earned it after grinding for seven years straight. He then insists that if he wants an opportunity, he needs to step up and take it. Kurt Angle is about to stand between Roman and Jordan when Samoa Joe shows up. Joe says that as much as he would love to see Roman and Jordan puff up their chests and pretend to talk tough, his patience has worn thin. Samoa Joe then tells Roman that he accepts his challenge, and gives Roman five seconds to withdraw his challenge as he can't beat him. Jason Jordan tells Joe he does not have to stand in the ring and talk tough, and unlike Joe, he actually is tough as he does not have to come out and attack people from behind; instead, he issues challenges to people's face like he did to Roman and like he will to Joe. Roman tells Jason Jordan to stay in his lane, then tells Joe his five seconds are down. Jason Jordan then grabs Roman from behind and hits him with a belly-to-belly suplex. Kurt Angle forces Jordan out of the ring. Roman tells Joe that he can wait until later tonight, then tells Jason Jordan to get in the ring right now before telling Angle to make the match. Angle calls in a referee, and John Cone shows up. This match is next.

Roman Reigns retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Jason Jordan. After the match, Samoa Joe - who has been watching the whole match from the stage - says Jason Jordan wore him out, and now he is getting into the ring to put him to sleep. Joe runs in, hits several knees, then goes for the Coaquina Clutch. Suddenly, Jason Jordan grabs Joe and puts him in a belly-to-belly suplex, and dares him to come get some. General Manager Kurt Angle is met by a guitar-playing Elias backstage. Elias wants another shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship, but calls Jason Jordan getting the shot "favoritism." He says the fans want to walk with him, but all they will get is a song. He then warns "some will rise, some will fall," and says his favoritism towards his "bastard son" will end him. He says Nese and Gulak have the opportunity tonight, and he tells them, Daivari and Noam Dar to seize it. Enzo is not happy about Rich Swann last week, and says The 'Zo Train is a direct reflection of him. He says he is a winner, not a loser, and they will not lose and lose again. He tells Nese and Gulak to get out there and get the job done. Suddenly, Enzo turns around and looks at a smiling Nia Jax. She simply asks "How you doin'?" then turns and walks away.

Drew Gulak beats Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander and "The Premiere Athlete" Tony Nese in a Fatal 4-Way Match to face Rich Swann next week to decide a #1 contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Charly Caruso interviews Drew Gulak after the match. Gulak is about to present a Powerpoint presentation to address if he is conflicted, but instead we see Elias backstage.

Before the next match, Elias says that he is beyond celebrity and that he is talent, fame, music, the air the fans breathe and everything. He then says General Manager Kurt Angle promised him some competition, but until then, he has a song to sing. He then sings, plays guitar and makes fun of the Los Angeles, California crowd. The music is then interrupted by Braun Strowman. As Braun Strowman gets in the ring, Elias runs out. When Braun turns his back, Elias tries to attack him from behind. This has no effect, and Braun grabs Elias before he can get back out.

Paige then tells Alicia Fox to relax, and says she is not here to hurt her and that she is her friend. She says Alicia was the only one who liked her when she was still here a year ago. She then says from the bottom of her heart that she loves Alicia Fox, but she does not think Sonya and Mandy feel the same way. Sonya and Mandy then get in the ring and approach Alicia Fox. They then attack Alicia Fox, and Paige watches from the corner.

We get a sneak peak at Charlotte Flair's role on Psych: The Movie, premiering this Thursday on USA Network.

Finn Balor beats Bo Dallas.

Bray Wyatt appears on the TitanTron. He asks who Matt Hardy, then says he and the universe knows, but not Matt Hardy himself. Suddenly, Matt Hardy interrupts. He also says he has main evented his third WrestleMania in a row, and retired The Undertaker, whom he says both respect each other after he beat him. He then announces that after Great Balls Of Fire, he will be the #1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam, as this is his yard and he makes the rules around her. Samoa Joe shows up and says he could not help but notice that Roman has forgotten his name, and reminds Roman that he has yet to beat him. He then says he is the true #1 contender and the next Universal Champion. Roman then tells Samoa Joe that after last week, he can't help but agree with Paul Heyman, telling him he will never be "Samoa Joe" to him and that he will always be "Just Joe." This leads to Joe headbutting Roman and the two brawling at ringside until Joe gets Roman back in the ring for a Coaquina Clutch attempt.
