Tuesday Night's Main Event - Main Event recap for July 8, 2014

Sheamus not only hopes to beat Alberto Del Rio tonight, but also enters the battle royal for the vacant Intercontinental title at Battleground. Del Rio shows up on the TitanTron and says he's going to do it. Sheamus reminds him that their match is Last Man Standing, and tells him to get down here.

Sheamus retains the WWE United States Championship against Alberto Del Rio in a Last Man Standing match.

Bray Wyatt will take on Chris Jericho at Battleground.

Renee Young interviews Chris Jericho. Tonight, Jericho interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart on the Highlight Reel. As for Bray Wyatt, he considers him to be a spider he aims to squish.

Rosa Mendes, Natalya, Eva Marie, Naomi and Summer Rae beat Nikki Bella. Cameron was supposed to be in the match, but doesn't show up until after the match to attack Nikki. She gets chased to the back by Naomi.

It's time for Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel, appearing for the first time on both Main Event and WWE Network! Chris Jericho shows up and introduces his guest tonight, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. As they both reminisce about old times, Bret mentions that "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels is amongst his toughest opponents. HBK's music hits, but it's not HBK. It's Damien Sandow dressed as HBK, who shows up to "You screwed Bret" chants and insults from Jericho. Sandow says that when he gets through with Bret Hart and sending him back to Ted Turner and WCW, they'll be calling it the "Ottawa Screwjob." Bret Hart punches Sandow in the face before putting him in the Sharpshooter to end the show.
