Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 26, 2019

Sasha Banks shows up to start tonight's show. She says that for four months, she has been gone and minding her own business, but everyone is talking about her and how she threw a fit, cried on the locker room floor, then took her ball and went home after WrestleMania. Sasha then says she was relegated to a tag team match she didn't care for defending a tag team championship that meant even less while Becky Lynch was a headliner, and that she left and took several vacations before coming back to work with a plan. All she needed was the perfect moment, and Natalya with a cast around her arm was that moment. Sasha says she lied when she told Natalya that her father would be proud of her, then Becky Lynch came to save the day only to get beaten down. Sasha says she is at the center of attention that she deserves, as she is the standard and the talk of the women's division and she deserves all this glory. Before she can say much else, Natalya runs in with tape wrapped around her left elbow and fights Sasha on the outside. Referees and officials rush in to separate both women.

Backstage, Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) recap what has happened earlier and mentions tonight's matches in the King of the Ring tournament and Braun Strowman vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles for the WWE United States Championship. They also bring up tonight's eight-team Tag Team Turmoil Match, which is a tag team gauntlet match where the winners face Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships.

Ricochet beats Drew McIntyre to advance to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring tournament.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins. Rollins says he has gotten himself into quite a situation for Clash of Champions, but he is ready and so is Strowman. Strowman is still staring at the WWE Universal Championship, but he says he is ready to defend the Raw tag team titles. Strowman asks Rollins who he is willing to let step up for the Universal Championship, and Rollins comes to the conclusion that Strowman wants to challenge him for the title, which he accepts by saying that he does not back down from a fight.

Before the next match, The Miz lists all of his own accolades, then says people ask him what he wants. Miz says he wants it all, and that everyone is on the journey with him to become "King Awesome."

Baron Corbin beats The Miz to advance to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring tournament. After the match, Corbin wears the crown, takes the scepter and sits on the throne on the stage, and mentions that everyone wants anybody but him to become King of the Ring. He says that he has never cared what the people think, as the people cannot accomplish a single thing that he has and that he has only one person to credit for his own success: himself. He says it will not be long before everyone says "All hail King Corbin."

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). Anderson says that Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins earned a tag team title shot out of thin air, and tonight, they have to earn a shot at the titles against seven other teams. Gallows says they plan to prove tonight that the ring belongs to the only club that matters.

Rey Mysterio returns next week.

Bayley beats Nikki Cross.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Braun Strowman. Strowman says Clash of Champions will be both a busy and an historical night when he wins the United States title tonight and defends three titles in one night. He says that nobody will stop him from winning or stop Styles from getting these hands.

The team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler beat The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel), The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik), The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson), The Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado), The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder), the team of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder and Heavy Machinery (Tucker and Otis) to win an eight-team Tag Team Turmoil Match to face Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships at Clash of Champions. The Viking Raiders and The O.C. are disqualified simultaneously when the ref is unable to restore order between both teams, leading to two new teams entering.

Total Divas returns to E! Network for a ninth season on October 2nd, with Ronda Rousey, Carmella and Sonya Deville confirmed to star in the new season.

Sasha Banks beats Natalya with the Banks Statement after wrapping Natalya's bad arm and elbow around her own neck. Natalya has to receive medical attention after the match, and Sasha Banks gets back in the ring to apply the Banks Statement to Natalya again.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. He says that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were screwed out of the Raw tag team titles, and that he can thrive without them in his corner. He says that Strowman will not get his hands on him, and when he beats Strowman, he will give him what he deserves: nothing.

Cedric Alexander beats Cesaro.

We see footage from Fox Founders Day over the weekend where the WWE 24/7 Championship changed hands from Elias to R-Truth to Fox Sports analyst Rob Stone to Elias.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Ziggler says he does not trust the Superstars, but he sometimes sees that one Superstar with that twinkle in their eye who wants it a little bit more and gravitates towards that Superstar. He plans to take advantage of the situation between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman to become tag team titles. Roode says there was no better person to tag with than Ziggler, and that their coming together is destiny due to their good looks and athletics. Roode says they will become Raw tag team champions, and it will be absolutely glorious.

As Montez Ford is recapping what is going on, Angelo Dawkins is ready for the afterparty after the show. As they talk about tonight's main event, Braun Strowman shows up.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles retains the WWE United States Championship against Braun Strowman by disqualification. During the match, Styles knocks Strowman into referee Chad Patton, who is on the apron after narrowly avoiding being squashed in the corner by Strowman. This results in Patton being knocked off the ring apron and down to ringside, and Styles attacks Strowman with a steel chair as Patton is down. Strowman counters with a powerslam, but there is no referee to count the pinfall attempt. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson rush into the ring, but Strowman fends them off and hits them with the steel chair. Strowman then focuses on Styles with the steel chair in his hand, but at this point, Patton has come to and says that he heard the chair shots (despite not seeing the action in the ring). Patton disqualifies Strowman despite Strowman's protests, and Styles retains the United States title. After the match, Strowman beats up all three members of The O.C., and Styles receives a running powerslam.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
