Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 12, 2019

Seth Rollins shows up to start tonight's show. Seth admits he is surprised and that he did not know if he had what it took to beat Brock Lesnar, especially at less than 100%, and that Lesnar is everything he is touted as and more. When he felt that he had nothing left in the tank, the fans came alive, and took him to a place that only he and the fans could go together. In that moment, he knew he had what it took to beat Lesnar. He then remembered that he is "Seth Freakin' Rollins," and that is why he is WWE Universal Champion. Suddenly, The O.C. ("The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson) show up. The O.C. congratulate Seth, then Styles tells Rollins he doesn't have Brock Lesnar to worry about anymore. He then challenges Rollins, saying he could be a better champion than him. Rollins says he used to have respect for Styles, but not anymore. Nevertheless, he does not back down from a fight, and he accepts his challenge, telling Styles he will teach him a lesson in respect. Styles offers to shake Rollins' hand, but Rollins refuses. Gallows and Anderson leave, then Styles offers his hand again. Rollins shakes his hand reluctantly, turns around, then turns around again, expecting The O.C. to attack him. Styles tells Rollins he should be scared, and that he is coming for his title.

Backstage, Montez Ford of Street Profits (Ford, Angelo Dawkins) states that Raw is "getting all of the smoke," then Angelo Dawkins says the SummerSlam afterparty got to him. Sami Zayn shows up and tells them to enjoy Raw while they can, as the fans will suck the soul out of them. He then calls Seth Rollins an example of this, saying that Rollins came out strong but is now a "pandering fool." He also complains that Becky Lynch sounded authentic as "The Man" but is now "manufactured." Dawkins asks if this happens to everybody, including Samoa Joe, who is behind Sami Zayn. As Sami makes fun of Samoa Joe, he finds out Joe is behind him. Joe challenges Sami to a match in the ring, then shoves him into a box after telling Sami he has the potential to show his countrymen he can be more than "Kevin Owens' waterboy."

The King of the Ring tournament returns next week on Raw!

Samoa Joe quickly beats Sami Zayn with the Coaquina Clutch. After the match, Samoa Joe says he may forgive Roman Reigns for blaming him on the freak attacks on him, that forgiveness is not extended to anyone else who propagated the lie that he was capable of such atrocities, including the fans.

Before the next match, Dolph Ziggler is not dressed to compete and is in pain as he approaches and enters the ring. Ziggler tells Miz he hopes he is happy, as everyone knows Miz did not have a chance against him at SummerSlam and sicked Goldberg on him. He says he got Speared so many times yesterday that he cannot compete tonight. He tells Miz that he screwed himself and that he does not get a match with him tonight. As he leaves the ring, Miz turns around, then Ziggler reveals he is not hurt and rushes at Miz to attack him.

The Miz beats Dolph Ziggler with the Figure Four Leg Lock. After the match, Ziggler takes the microphone and tells Miz that he is a coward and that Maryse is a better wrestler than him. As he says that Miz doesn't have the guts to finish him off, Miz gets back in the ring and hits the Skull Crushing Finale.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Becky Lynch. Becky says she did not come to celebrate, and says that she collected her debt from Natalya at SummerSlam. She then says she is coming after anyone who has done her wrong and that she will not rest until everyone is dealt with. He tells everyone in the women's division to get her before she gets them, then says "Game on."

Elias is in the ring. He talks about Edge interrupting him at SummerSlam, and tells whoever wants to interrupt him to just show up right now. After a countdown from three, nobody shows up. Elias counts down from three, and nobody shows up. Elias says that tonight's performance will be the first to go uninterrupted, but it is not long before Ricochet shows up. Ricochet tells Elias that people interrupt him because he sucks, but Elias says a guy dressed up like a comic book character won't tell him what is and isn't cool. He promises to embarrass Ricochet tonight, then calls for a referee for a match.

Ricochet beats Elias with a Sunset Flip as Elias goes for his guitar. After the match, it is noticed that one of Elias' shoulders was up. Nevertheless, the referee's decision is final.

We get a closer look at Cedric Alexander, courtesy of Mountain Dew.

It is announced that SummerSlam 2020 is coming to Boston, Massachusetts.

Andrade beats Rey Mysterio with two straight falls in a two-out-of-three falls match. Andrade wins the first fall after Zelina Vega gets his feet on the ropes for leverage from outside of the referee's field of vision. He then wins the second fall after getting the knees up during Rey's top rope splash and hitting the Hammerlock DDT.

Michael Cole interviews "Stone Cold" Steve Austin via Skype. Austin says Seth Rollins' performance at SummerSlam was impressive, and that Rollins was able to dig deep and prove who he is. He says that he told Rollins to stay focused that night, and agrees with Rollins that Superstars live and die by the crowd. He then says once again that Rollins was able to dig deep, prove who he is and pull out the big win. Austin's new show Straight Up Steve Austin, which airs tonight after Raw, is then plugged.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Rey Mysterio, who says he has never lost two falls in a row like he just did, and that he has no idea where his career is going. He just knows he has a family to support. Rey then says "My family...my family" before walking away.

Backstage, Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) try to talk about what's coming up on the show, but Angelo Dawkins keeps chugging water.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Drew McIntyre, who says that it ends between him and Cedric Alexander tonight with a Claymore Kick to the skull that will end Cedric's fairy tale.

Drew McIntyre beats Cedric Alexander. Before the match, it is announced that both men in the match will be in next week's King of the Ring tournament.

Backstage, The O.C. ("The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson) talk about how many chances Seth Rollins had to beat Brock Lesnar. Styles says he only needs one shot and that he leads by example, and that everyone will know who the real champion is after tonight.

Backstage, Charly Caruso says he will get an exclusive interview with Paul Heyman soon.

Robert Roode beats No Way Jose.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Paul Heyman, who is irritated that WWE will not give Brock Lesnar a rematch against Seth Rollins, then heads back into Lesnar's locker room after being at a loss for words.

The Lucha House Party (Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik) vs. The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) ends in comical fashion. R-Truth and Carmella show up being chased by multiple Superstars into the ring. This ends the match, and The Revival hit Shatter Machine on R-Truth to become dual WWE 24/7 Champions. Kalisto tries to win the title off of Dawson but is dragged out of the ring by Wilder, and Carmella puts R-Truth on a downed Dawson to make R-Truth a 12-time 24/7 Champion. Carmella and R-Truth are then chased to the back, and Drake is out of breath and at the rear of the pack. Suddenly, Carmella and R-Truth sneak back onto the stage and sneak elsewhere backstage. As Carmella and R-Truth celebrate, Elias smashes a guitar into R-Truth's back, and a referee counts the pinfall as Elias wins the WWE 24/7 Championship for a third time.

Natalya shows up with a sling on. She admits that she lost and that Becky Lynch was the better woman. She has a broken elbow and will have an MRI tomorrow, then says she would not change a thing and that she and Becky will face off again. She then remembers a dream last night where her late father Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart told her he was proud of her, then mentions it has been one year since her father passed away. All of a sudden, Sasha Banks - who has not been seen since WrestleMania - makes her first appearance in months. Sasha and Natalya hug, then Sasha Banks punches Natalya, reveals she has been wearing a purple wig with her real blue hair underneath, then attacks Natalya again. After grabbing Natalya by her injured arm, tossing her in the corner and hitting her with the Meteora, she tosses her out of the ring and continues to attack her. After taking the boots to Natalya in the ring, Becky Lynch runs into the ring and brawls with Sasha. Sasha gets the upper hand, then smacks Becky repeatedly with a steel chair. Referees show to get Sasha to stop, and Sasha throws Becky into the steel steps as one last measure before leaving.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat Carter Mason and Sebastian Suave.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Alexa says she and Nikki are fighting champions, and plan to defend their titles with more than just words. Nikki thanks Alexa for the friendship and the opportunity. Alexa says that when it is them against the world, they get results.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane and Asuka). Before the match, we see video footage from Paige, who says that she is having another neck surgery before stating that she is pulling for The Kabuki Warriors.

Backstage, Seth Rollins says that if AJ Styles wants to lead by example and see who the real champion, then Styles stands no chance as he has beaten Lesnar twice and Styles once before. He plans to show Rollins who the champion is.

We see a longer video package for next week's King of the Ring tournament.

Seth Rollins beats "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles after Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attack Rollins despite being ejected from ringside. As they and Styles attack Rollins, Ricochet runs to the ring and fights them off only to be overpowered. As Gallows and Anderson are ready to help Styles powerbomb Rollins off the top rope, Braun Strowman runs in and beats up The O.C. (Styles, Gallows, Anderson). Afterwards, Strowman hands the WWE Universal Championship to Rollins and shakes his hand.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
