Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for August 7, 2019

In memory of Harley Race, 1943 - 2019.

Noam Dar beats Ashton Smith. After the match, Radzi interviews Noam Dar in the ring. Noam says he could have went anywhere, but the only reason he is on NXT UK is because of the huge contract with big benefits they offered him. One of those benefits allows him to be in all the big events, especially NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff, where he will be in the ring.

We see footage from earlier this week from the UK Performance Center. Tyler Bate says that Trent Seven may not be medically cleared, but he is, and he will not let Walter disrespect the United Kingdom Championship anymore. He plans on being the first-ever two-time United Kingdom Champion.

Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) show up. Gibson says he has heard that Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) want a tag team title shot and have an impressive winning streak, but while Gallus have been beating lesser wrestlers, they have been beating the best in the world. Suddenly, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang show up, and Coffey says they are taking their match at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff. Suddenly, Mark Andrews and "Flash" Morgan Webster show up. Mark Andrews admits both teams are good, but tells them that neither of them are taking over Cardiff without taking them on. Gibson does not think highly of them, and says Gallus have won matches instead of spending time in the doctor's office. Mark Coffey tells them to pipe down, but "Flash" Morgan tells both teams that he and Andrews can beat the both of them. Drake tells everyone to calm down, and Gibson says they did not come here for a fight. Gibson says he and Drake have punched their ticket and that General Manager Johnny Saint makes the matches. He goes on to say that he, Drake and Gallus got their spot in their hometown, and if Andrews and Webster want their spot, they'll have to prove themselves; until then, the NXT UK tag titles will stay "grizzled."

We see a video package where NXT UK Superstars talk about their preparations for NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff.

Backstage, "The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks has spoken with General Manager Johnny Saint. He says that he will have to earn his spot at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff, and so does Noam Dar. Mark Andrews and "Flash" Morgan Webster come out of General Manager Johnny Saint's office. Webster is glad to be medically cleared again, and Andrews says that if he and Webster can prove themselves over the next few weeks, they can compete at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff.

Jinny and Jazzy Gabert beat Nia Brookside and Piper Niven. During the match, Rhea Ripley shows up in an attempt to attack Brookside, and Niven charges at her, forcing Ripley to the back at the expense of leaving Brookside on ther own for the rest of the match.

In footage from earlier today, Kassius Ohno interrupts an interview with Ilya Dragunov. Dragunov intimidates Ohno out of the room almost immediately.

Next week: Kassius Ohno vs Ilya Dragunov! "Flash" Morgan Webster vs. Mark Coffey!

Joe Coffey vs. "Bomber" Dave Mastiff ends in a double count-out. As the rest of Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) check on Joe Coffey and referees check on Mastiff, Mastiff still wants to fight, and referees as well as assistant Sid Scala have to keep Mastiff away from Joe Coffey.
