Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for August 26, 2023

Before the next match, it is still unknown what injuries Mackenzie Morgan has suffered following last week's contract signing or when she will be able to wrestle again.

Dustin Starr interviews Tim Bosby at the announce table. Bosby says he defended the Internet title for 245 days against anyone who stepped up and that "The Best of the Best" Austin Lane cheated him out of the Internet Championship with help from "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane, and now he is calling Austin Lane out for a title rematch. Austin and Nikki show up, and Austin demands an end to the "Worst of the Worst" chants and the chants for Bosby, and while he admits that Bosby is the franchise and the future, he is not the present, and that rematch is not happening. After Austin tells Bosby that he can start back at the bottom and work his way up, Bosby says that while Austin is the best of the best, he is not even the best wrestler in his marriage. Austin gets ticked off and gives Bosby his rematch.

"The Best of the Best" Austin Lane retains the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship against Tim Bosby after "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane gets in the ring to slap Bosby only to feign injury and distract the referee, allowing Austin Lane to hit a low blow and retain the title.

We hear from Reverend Ash Taylor, who says that all "Masterpiece" Chris Masters had to do was give to The Righteous Path (Reverend Ash Taylor, Sister Jennifer, Brother Bruce, "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt) and admits "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt looked better, but he disrespected him, and now his Righteous Path will step over and on him and they drag him behind themselves down the righteous path.

Backstage, The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont) contemplate their losing streak when Barnabas the Leader shows up and says that he knows talent and that The L.A. Hustlers have lacked a producer who can take them to the top of the charts, which he claims he can do. He says he can take The L.A. Hustlers all the way to the tag team titles, and asks them to think about it. The L.A. Hustlers do not know what to think of this.

Before the next match, Barnabas the Leader shows up wearing a yellow bandana, multiple gold chains and a Memphis Grizzlies medallion as he introduces The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont), who still do not know what to make of Barnabas.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole and "Casanova" Colton Cage beat The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont). After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Cole and Cage at the announce desk, and Cage says he is fired up to be part of "The Swole Patrol" with Cage, who has not been pinned in months and has been voted "Best Local Athlete" by readers of the Memphis Flyer. Cole says everyone, including the championship committee, knows about his unbeaten streak, and that something has got to give sooner or later.

We hear from Ellsworth Enterprises ("The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx, Matt Williams, Storybook Prince Gaston), who brag about putting Mackenzie Morgan through a table and leaving her unable to challenge Nyxx for the Women's title on Matt Williams' birthday. Gaston says that Nyxx will be the "now and forever" Women's Champion.

"Dangerous" Diana Taylor beats Bashley Bones.

"The Master of Fatjitsu" K-Toomer and "The Genetic Nightmare" Mike Anthony - accompanied by King Cobra - quickly beat "Astonishing" Austin Molitalo and Brendan Beretta. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews K-Toomer, Mike Anthony and King Cobra at the announce desk. Mike Anthony grabs the microphone and asks the WrestleCenter crowd to make some noise, which they do. He says that he and K-Toomer and on fire, and K-Toomer says that the two of them will become a nightmare after what The Roberts Family Legacy did to them. King Cobra says K-Toomer and Mike Anthony are the team to beat, and while they take care of business, he will take care of Big Red.

"The Masterpiece" Chris Masters beats "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt with the Master Lock after also putting Reverend Ash Taylor in the hold for getting in the ring and getting in his face.
