Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for August 10, 2023

Dalton Castle beats Slim J.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "Smart" Mark Sterling and "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese. They say that they are not having Nese's match with tonight, as the people in South Carolina need an intervention due to how fat they are after asking where the health food is and being led to a Waffle House. "Smart" Mark Sterling says that there will be group training tonight.

The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) beat Brady Pierce and Lucky Ali.

The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) beat "Outlandish" Zicky Dice and Movie Myk.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "Legit" Leyla Hirsch, who says she has beaten all challengers since she has arrived in ROH and that she wants a shot at the ROH Women's World Championship. As she compliments Athena on her championship reign, Maria Kanellis-Bennett shows up and says that while Leyla has been dominant, but she needs to build up a little more confidence, for the more wins she gets, the more legit she will get.

Lee Moriarty beats Andrew Everett with the Border City Stretch.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling announces that "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese will speak very slowly, and Nese says it is sad when the healthiest choice around is a Waffle House. He states that obesity is an epidemic and that he has found "ground zero," then announces that he has cancelled his match and the rest of the show so everyone can do group training. As he leads everyone into doing jumping jacks, Pat Buck shows up for the next match.

"The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese beats Pat Buck.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry). Anthony Henry says they are happy to be in ROH, and JD Drake says they are championship material. Prince Nana and The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) show up and tell The Workhorsemen that they are not worthy, then Nana says that he likes The Workhorsemen and gives them a match against The Gates of Agony, and if they win, they get a shot at the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships with a third partner of their choice.

Athena beats Rachael Ellering in an ROH Women's World Championship Proving Grounds Match.

The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) beat The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry). (Had The Workhorsemen won, they would have earned a shot at the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships with a third person of their choice.)

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Cole Karter. Cole Karter thinks Maria Kanellis-Bennett likes him, then Maria shows up finding this cute and that she will see what kind of position he is in after tonight.

"Legit" Leyla Hirsch beats Angelica Risk with the cross arm breaker. Maria Kanellis-Bennett shows up to watch from the stage during the match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Athena, who says that she is the most dominant champion in Ring of Honor and might as well be "all the champions." After stating that this is her show, she did not get to break Rachael Ellering because Ellering ducked her, and takes Lexy Nair with her as decides to "find more porcelain to break."

Cole Karter beats Rhett Titus. Maria Kanellis-Bennett shows up to watch from the stage during the match.

Billie Starkz beats Robyn Renegade. After the match, Charlette Renegade attacks Billie, and Robyn joins in. All of a sudden, Athena shows up and beats up both of the Renegade sisters before grabbing Billie and entertaining the idea of ramming Billie's head into the ROH Women's World Championship before ultimately deciding not to.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "Smart" Mark Sterling and "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods. Sterling says he agrees with Woods regarding last week's interview, but says it would be a mistake to end what they have going. Woods says he is done with group training and that he is best by himself, as it is what made him ROH Pure Champion and what will make him champion again. Sterling agrees, and says he will get him some real matches, starting with a match against "The Last Real Man" Silas Young for a real challenge.

Shane Taylor beats Gravity to win the ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament and earn a match against Samoa Joe for the ROH World Television Championship after getting the knees up on a splash and hitting the Marcus Garvey Driver.
