Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for August 5, 2023

Mike Anthony and K-Toomer beat The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont). After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Mike Anthony and K-Toomer at the announce desk. After Mike Anthony leads the crowd into a chant by taking the microphone around the ring, Mike Anthony says that Memphis Wrestling is on fire. K-Toomer then names the move he used to beat Notorious Bradley "the Seismic Toss." K-Toomer then says that they want all the smoke, especially after what happened to King Cobra, and from here on out, it will be no talking and all action.

In footage from last week, "The Gunshow" Brett Michaels throws the first pitch for the Memphis Redbirds at AutoZone Park.

We see footage of the Dirty Bird Brawl between Big John Dalton and Matt Williams for the Ingomar Dirty Birds Championship. All of a sudden, Matt Williams and Storybook Prince Gaston show up, demanding the footage be stopped. Matt Williams says the match was not a fair fight due to everyone who got involved despite wanting a street fight-style match, and says that if it were a regular one-on-one match, he would have beaten Big Jon, and demands one so he can prove it.

Matt Williams vs. Big John Dalton ends in a no-contest. During the match, Kruel shows up dragging a casket to the ring. Matt Williams and Storybook Prince Gaston stand with Big John Dalton at first, but then run away so that Kruel can choke slam Big John. Afterwards, Kruel takes the microphone and says everybody dies except him and that one cannot kill what is already dead, and next week, he will close the lid on Lance Archer's life forever.

We see Simon talking with Lance McCade, saying that the Lance he knows would have won the Internet Championship, and tells Lance that he will do great regardless of what he has to do, as he cannot stop or let up. Mr. Chris tells Lance he will take it to the top because he has what it takes. Lance then tells Tim Grind that it is nothing personal and that it is just business.

We see more footage of Memphis Wrestling's Wrestling Night at AutoZone Park.

Mackenzie Morgan beats Brooklyn.

We hear from King Cobra, who says not much has changed as he beat Big Red back in the day and will have to do it again. He says that he retired because he thought he was too old to fight, but he cannot seem to stay out of it, and that Big Red will regret hitting him with a Kendo stick.

"All The Way" Ray Collins beats "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt after Reverend Ash Taylor tries to introduce his collection plate into the match as a weapon and fails while Brother Bruce distracts the referee.

"The Best of the Best" Austin Lane and "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane are seen entering the WrestleCenter.

Austin Lane says he tried to make Memphis Wrestling viral again by choking out Dr. Tom Prichard, but Tim Bosby got in his way. He says Nikki told him that they have a plan and that Prichard was closed to getting choked out, then he calls out Bosby. Bosby shows up, and Austin Lane tells him that if he wants to stick his nose in this business and step up to him, then he can put the Internet Championship on the line right now. Bosby tells Austin Lane he beat him twice and asks him if he wants to do this for a third time. Austin Lane says he is not scared and asks if Bosby is, then asks for a referee so he can show him the two victories were a fluke. Bosby accepts the challenge, and the match happens right now.

"The Best of the Best" Austin Lane beats Tim Bosby to become the Memphis Wrestling Internet Champion after "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane trips Bosby and Austin Lane chokes Bosby out with the guillotine choke to the point that Bosby passes out.
