Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 30, 2019

Rey Mysterio shows up to start tonight's show. Rey talks about his match against Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship later tonight, then thanks his son Dominick - who is sitting in the front row - stating that he owes this moment to him and that he will take the Universal Championship home. Suddenly, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman show up. Lesnar takes the microphone and hands it to Heyman, but Rey takes it back before Heyman can say a word. Rey only says a few words before Lesnar hits Rey with an F5. Lesnar then picks Rey up and puts him in another F5, then stares down Dominick from a distance. He then leaves the ring and approaches Dominick, who sits down. This does not stop Lesnar from tossing Dominick over the guardrail and slamming him around at ringside. After sending Dominick into the ring post and slamming him on the floor, Lesnar gets Dominick in the ring and hits a German suplex as a referee shows up. Rey crawls to Dominick, but falls victim to a third F5. Lesnar then walks up the ramp, but stops less than halfway up it before getting back in the ring, suplexing Rey and then suplexing Dominick. At this point, Heyman begs Lesnar to stop as multiple referees and officials are at ringside. Officials check on Rey and Dominick as Heyman begs Lesnar off and referees direct Lesnar away from the ring. Lesnar enters the ring again, attacks the officials in the ring, then tosses Rey and Dominick to the side again. Lesnar then tears his shirt off and smiles before leaving the ring, and he and Heyman finally head to the back.

We see footage from during the break where Dominick is put on a stretcher.

Becky Lynch guests on commentary for the next match. During the match, Becky Lynch stands on the announce table, lifts up the WWE Raw Women's Championship and wraps athletic tape around her wrists. It is also announced by Jerry "The King" Lawler that Brock Lesnar is being questioned by authorities backstage after sirens can briefly be heard.

Sasha Banks beats Alexa Bliss after tricking Alexa into believing Bayley is here. After the match, Becky Lynch gets in the ring and fights Sasha, who escapes through the crowd. Becky tells Sasha she can run now, but she will not be running Sunday,. She says that she cannot stop the carnage and that Sasha made it personal, and that she will make it painful, and that retribution is coming around.

It is announced that The Rock will be on this week's Friday Night SmackDown.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins, who is disappointed by not surprised by Brock Lesnar's actions earlier. As for The Fiend, he has no idea how to plan for him, but the WWE Universal Championship means too much for him to go quietly. On Sunday, he plans to survive and prevail. He promises that he will give Rey Mysterio a title shot down the line, and says that as for tonight, he has promised a Universal Championship match and says it is a time for someone to step up.

Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Heavy Machinery (Tucker and Otis).

It's time for Miz TV. Tonight's guests are Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. The Miz sends his thoughts and support to Rey Mysterio and his son Dominick, and says there is no telling what he would do if someone put their hands on his children before hoping Rey and Dominick are okay. Miz then brings out Ric Flair, who compliments Miz on his wardrobe tonight, then brings out Jimmy Hart and Hulk Hogan. Flair and Hogan have some hilarious banter between eah other, then Hogan says Flair wants one more shot at the 24-inch pythons after Flair says he has no equal. It soon becomes apparent it is a joke, and Hogan says he and Flair "aren't spring chickens anymore." Hogan says they can still add one more page to their legacies, and Flair says he wants a check with as many zeroes as Hogan's. Miz then says that will happen at Crown Jewel on October 31st with Team Hogan vs. Team Flair in a 4-on-4 match. It is then revealed that the team captain for Team Hogan is none other than Seth Rollins. Rollins says five-year-old him would kick him in the shins if he did not accept the offer, and accepts his spot as captain of Team Hogan. Randy Orton then shows up, confirming his role as captain of Team Flair. Orton says that he and Rollins will pick their respective teammates over the next two weeks, and since tonight is the season premiere of Raw, they might as well have a "captains' match" tonight. Rollins accepts, and the match is on. Before the match can start, however, King Corbin shows up. Orton then attacks a distracted Rollins from behind, then Corbin attacks Rollins with his scepter and gangs up on him with Orton. Suddenly, Rusev shows up and fights off Corbin and Orton. Rollins and Rusev then team up to fight them off before joining Hogan and Jimmy Hart on the stage.

We see footage of Dominick being placed in an ambulance from earlier tonight.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Rusev, and asks "Where's Lana?" Rusev gives no answer, but he says that Seth Rollins owes him a debt after he made the save for him earlier during Randy Orton and King Corbin's 2-on-1 attack. He challenges Rusev to a Universal Championship match tonight.

We hear from The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar). They say that they lived on opposite ends of the world, but learned a common creed at the same time: he who is the violence becomes the Author of Pain.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson).

It is announced that Rey Mysterio and Dominick will not be returning to the arena, and that Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar are still in the building, waiting to explain their actions from earlier. Cesaro shows up as Caruso gives her opinion, saying he enjoyed the beating and that the only thing criminal is that Lesnar cost him his chance at Rey. Ricochet shows up and says Cesaro wouldn't do anything to Lesnar, and that Cesaro is only half the man Rey is before challenging him to a match.

Ricochet beats Cesaro.

It's time for Firefly Fun House. Abby The Witch, Huskus the Pig Boy, Mercy the Buzzard and Ramblin' Rabbit are scared, and Ramblin' Rabbit is so scared he dies. Bray Wyatt asks what is going on, and everyone else is concerned about what The Fiend will do to Seth Rollins. Bray Wyatt says it is okay to be scared, as he is too, for there is nothing like Hell In A Cell, where one can enter but never truly leave without physical and emotional scars. He says that Rollins will be trapped in the Cell with The Fiend, who he is sure will always protect the Fun House and them, and says that Rollins will not be so fortunate due to The Fiend not wanting to wait to hurt him. Bray Wyatt comes up with the idea of telling The Fiend to be nice to Seth Rollins, then laughs and says he is kidding.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles retains the WWE United States Championship against Cedric Alexander.

Backstage, Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) announce that they will be in action this Wednesday on NXT, when they will take the NXT Tag Team Championships back from The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly). As they recap what has happened earlier tonight, Montez Ford warns Angelo Dawkins not to mention The Fiend's name three times after what he has heard from an old janitor.

Lacey Evans beats Natalya after raking Natalya's eyes as the referee holds Natalya back. After the match, Lacey hits Natalya with The Women's Right.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Paul Heyman, who calls Brock Lesnar's actions wanton and reckless as he apologizes to Rey Mysterio and Dominick, and says WWE Chairman Vince McMahon should take the blame. He then says that there are plenty of tough guys, and yet none of them would be able to help Rey or Dominick and they will not be able to help Kofi Kingston on Friday night, as Lesnar will become WWE Champion.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Maria Kanellis, who says that Rusev is not the father of her child. Maria leaves, then Sasha Banks takes the microphone and tells Becky Lynch she will show her carnage on Sunday when she makes her tap out. She says that there have been two women's Hell In A Cell matches, and that no man will win her match.

A white limousine is seen pulling up into the arena.

Rusev vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship ends with Bobby Lashley showing up for the first time in months and bringing out Lana. Lana then kisses Bobby Lashley in full view of Rusev on the stage, then the lights go out and The Fiend puts Seth Rollins in the Mandible Claw to end the show.

Ethan Page makes fun of the fact that the fans were expecting LAX, and tells them that they got what was advertised as far as "the best tag team in the world" goes. Alexander makes fun of the fans for cheering them for "dressing like morons" and "acting like losers." Alexander says that he has never been so embarrassed in his entire career, and says that dressing like LAX makes him sick before and rubbing his foot on an LAX shirt to show his opinion on the rest of the tag team division. He then says that everyone will soon forget about the rest of the tag team division, for they are the best tag team in the world. Page then says that LAX is never come back, because the fans will never get what they want simply because they are not The North. After Page states that The North made sure LAX left Impact and that Konnan does not have as much power as he thinks he does, Konnan shows up. Konnan tells The North that they are making an embarrassment out of themselves and that they are "bush league," then says he has a lot of friends who would like to "bust that ass." He then brings out Rob Van Dam and Rhino.

Gama Singh chastises The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Raj Singh) for losing to The Deaners (Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake), which caused him so much embarrassment that he had to recruit Mahabali Shera. He tells them that there will be no more losing, or else they will be replaced.

He mentions what has been going on on social media regarding Moose, then mentions the lack of accomplishments as well as respect that Moose has as well as his talks with Impact management, then says he couldn't find Moose anywhere in the building tonight. Shane then tells Owens that he and his attorneys have looked at Owens' lawsuit, then gives him two options: stay locked in court with him for years and spend millions of dollars, or drop the lawsuit and be reinstated on the spot with the $100,000 fine dropped. He then proposes they start with a clean slate and offers his hand, but Owens tells Shane he is "a real idiot," stating that the thought of being in court and sharing the locker room makes him sick and that it is all about getting under his skin and getting rid of Shane. Owens proposes that they have one final match. If Shane wins, he leaves and the lawsuit is dropped, but if he wins, Shane is gone. He then says that the match should allow him to hurt Shane the way he wants to and allow Shane the same opportunity: a ladder match. Shane accepts.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 23, 2019

The Fiend corrupts the WWE logo intro sequence at the start of the show.

Seth Rollins shows up to start tonight's show. Rollins says he has done and seen a lot in the last seven years, but he has never felt the way that he felt last week when the living embodiment of a nightmare came close to his face when he had no fight left in him. He kept hoping it was not a bad dream, but it was not, and in two weeks, he now has to defend the WWE Universal Championship against The Fiend. As he states that he knows what Hell In A Cell does, facing Bray Wyatt in the structure is a completely different story. As for what he can do, he has to survive and prevail like he always has even when nobody gave him a chance. Suddenly, Braun Strowman - one of the Superstars Rollins stated he has survived and prevailed against - shows up. Strowman tells Rollins that if he has something to say to him, he had better say it to his face, as he does not pretend to be Mr. Rodgers while playing with puppets, and says that he meets his opponents head on and suggest Rollins do the same. As for statements from Rollins concerning a WWE Universal Championship rematch, Rollins tells Strowman he has misconstrued his comments, and that it makes him want to fight him tonight. Strowman asks if this is a challenge, to which Rollins replies that it is.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). During the match, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles gets caught by the referee trying to get involved in the match and gets ejected. On his way to the back, Cedric Alexander attacks him and chases him to the back.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Robert Roode, who says he will come out on top in tonight's Fatal 5-Way Match due to his recent success at Clash Of Champions.

Michael Cole interviews Becky Lynch. Becky says she wants Sasha Banks better than ever, and boasts that that when he left SmackDown Live, she rebuilt Raw to what it is now. She says she cannot make history by herself, and that is why she wants Sasha in a Hell In A Cell Match. She says the match is not to keep Bayley out, but to keep Sasha in, and in order for Sasha to escape, she has to go through her. She says that Sasha Banks has her chance to take the WWE Raw Women's Championship from her at Hell In A Cell, and advises that she take it.

Rusev beats EC3 with the Accolade.

We hear from Rey Mysterio, who says that he almost retired from the business while he suffered some serious doubt. However, he is still here, and next week, he is facing Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship. He then dedicates his match tonight to his son Dominic.

Sasha Banks beats Nikki Cross with the Banks Statement despite Alexa Bliss stopping an interference attempt from Bayley. After the match, Sasha puts Alexa Bliss in the Banks Statement.

Backstage, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles asks The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) when everyone will learn that they are not in his league, and says it does not matter who his opponent is, as nothing will get in his way of winning the WWE Universal Championship.

Next week: Brock Lesnar returns!

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) hypes up next week's show as well as tonight's Fatal 5-Way Match to determine a #1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship, then The Miz shows up. He announces that his wife Maryse has given birth to a second daughter, Madison Jade Mizanin, and that next week, Hulk Hogan and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will make an appearance on Miz TV.

Lacey Evans beats Ember Moon with the Sharpshooter. Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Natalya, who says that she is flattered, but that Lacey Evans has not mastered the Sharpshooter. She states that if Lacey Evans wants a re-match, she had better be ready to tap out.

At the Firefly Fun House, Bray Wyatt is hanging pictures of The Fiend's victims when Huskus The Pig Boy and Ramblin' Rabbit fight over a Seth Rollins action figure. Both of them admit that they have become Seth Rollins fans and want to share the action figure. Bray Wyatt talks about the negative aspects of being too attached to something, such as disappointment, neglect and loneliness. Ramblin' Rabbit then says they do not want The Fiend to hurt Seth Rollins, but Bray Wyatt proposes that maybe The Fiend wants to protect Seth Rollins. He then breaks the Seth Rollins action figure in half.

R-Truth and Carmella run to the ring, and other Superstars run towards the ring. Carmella stops everyone, then grabs a microphone, saying she and R-Truth cannot take the running anymore. R-Truth says they will get out of this one, but Carmella says she cannot let her guard down for one second and she cannot do this anymore. R-Truth hugs her, then Carmella pins R-Truth to win the WWE 24/7 Championship. R-Truth celebrates with Carmella, but then female Superstars show up. R-Truth has to carry Carmella through the crowd as the female Superstars give chase. The male Superstars still at the ring are confused.

Sasha Banks and Bayley talk backstage. Sasha says she will take back what is hers from Becky Lynch at Hell In A Cell.

Backstage, Sami Zayn talks with Shinsuke Nakamura about the Fatal 5-Way match, then Nakamura says something to him in Japanese. Sami says he gets it, and that Nakamura has the match under control.

Before the next match, Baron Corbin - now known as King Corbin - says he will not be out here long, as the match will be "rather short." He then decrees that after tonight, he will no longer have to compete against anyone under five feet, five inches.

Chad Gable beats King Corbin by disqualification after Corbin uses his scepter as a weapon to break out of the ankle lock. After the match, Corbin continues to attack Gable with the scepter.

We hear from The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar), who states that they exposed the locker room as a bunch of soft, wannabe tought guys last week, then state that they will show exactly who they are. They leave the room and attack people back, then the show cuts to black before showing The Authors of Pain back in the room. They state that no one is hard enough to fight them, and that their beatdown from earlier shows why nobody wants to mess with them.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Ricochet before the next match. Ricochet says there comes an opportunity in everyone's life to soar and defy the odds, and tonight is his. He says that a win from him tonight will prove that superheroes can be real and that his time has come.

Rey Mysterio beats Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Robert Roode in a Fatal 5-Way Match to become #1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins, who congratulates Rey Mysterio and says that a match with Rey is a dream match for him. He says that he is still not thrilled with his match tonight or at Hell In A Cell, but everyone is gunning for him and he plans to win.

Braun Strowman vs. Seth Rollins ends with the lights going out as Strowman goes for a running powerslam. The Fiend then appears in the ring with the Mandible Claw on Strowman, and as he is about to target Rollins, Strowman gets back up only to be sent into unconsciousness with the Mandible Claw again. The lights then go out completely to end the show.

Rowan says he has been overlooked and disrespected, and states that the fans think of him as "a grunt in the background" meant to do someone's bidding, then says that he is not a puppet or a follower; instead, he is a leader. Rowan then states that the locker room will learn to never disrespect him again.

Afterwards, Kevin Owens is seen in the crowd taking a seat. Backstage, Shane McMahon is told by a referee that someone is here to see him. Shane leaves the room and finds out he has been served with a lawsuit.

Shane McMahon shows up with security as Kevin Owens pretends to fall asleep in the crowd. Owens produces a ticket for his seat as Shane is given a "proper introduction." Shane says it is no coincidence that he is being served with legal papers while Owens is in the audience, and he asks security to let Owens in. He also asks for Owens to have a mic and enter the ring as security stands in front of Shane. Shane then asks security to step out, and announces that he has been served with the largest wrongful termination lawsuit in history. He says that Owens would be awarded $25 million if he were to win, and says that Owens is swimming where he shouldn't be. Shane tells Owens his case is weak, but Owens says he has a strong case, stating that Shane ruined SmackDown Live by making it his personal playground and making his life a living hell by fining him $100,000 for beating up a crooked referee and attacking him while he was a referee last week because he lost against Chad Gable before firing him for insubordination. Owens states that the fine was held over his head for weeks, and when he swallowed his pride, he tried to help him beat Chad Gable, yet Shane still tapped out. After that, Shane tried to take away his life's work and his family's future, which he states does not work with him. He tried to reason with him, work with him and even help him, but now he wants to hurt him in his wallet and his pride. He says this is about more than money, and that he can see in Shane's face that he has a case. He also says that there is a clause that Shane has not read, and states that if he wins, he is able to come back into the ring and tell Shane he is fired to his face. Kevin Owens then leaps back over the guardrail and runs back into the crowd.

Corbin demands the respect and admiration that he deserves, threatening a rule as an iron fist if he does not get it. He then thanks Chad Gable, who shows up. Corbin then starts making height jokes, and Gable responds by putting Corbin through the throne, ripping his robe and smashing the scepter into Corbin's back. Corbin is livid as Gable continues to destroy everything. Gable then takes the crown and stomps on it repeatedly before kicking it to Corbin.

Heavy Machinery (Tucker and Otis) beats The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel).

"The New" Daniel Bryan shows up. Daniel says that a lot of people chanting for him right now are the same people who accused him of orchestrating the attacks behind Roman Reigns, and says he understands more than ever why before stating he has never lied to the fans. He then states that he stands exonerated of all the attacks on Roman Reigns before focusing on Erick Rowan, saying that he saw Rowan and his potential, intelligence and talent when no one else did, and treated him as an equal and a friend. Suddenly, Rowan shows up and tells Daniel to stop, saying that he is tired of hearing him speak and that he was always standing behind him, never allowed to talk as Daniel tried to make him a follower. He asks Daniel if he ever asked him how he felt about anything, and states that he will not be disrespected. Daniel dares him to do something about it, as nothing will hurt worse than him destroying their friendship. Daniel is then attacked from behind by Luke Harper. Harper and Rowan are about to gang up on Daniel further when Roman Reigns shows up and fights off Harper and Rowan. Harper and Rowan soon overpower Roman Reigns, however, and powerbomb him into the ring post. They then tear up the ringside area, and when security shows up, Harper and Rowan level them. Rowan hits Roman with a piece of the barricade, and he and Harper then tear the timekeeper's and announce table areas apart and attack Tom Phillips before putting Daniel through the announce table.
