Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for March 6, 2020

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross start tonight's show with another edition of A Moment of Bliss. Alexa Bliss tells The Kabuki Warriors that the women's tag titles are to be defended on all brands and that they know where to find her and Nikki when they stop hiding on Raw. Alexa then introduces tonight's guests: New World Order members Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman. Alexa announces that all three men will be two-time Hall of Famers, then Nikki takes a selfie with them before Alexa asks Waltman what they should call him, and Waltman decides on "Hall of Famer." Alexa then asks Kevin Nash what Roman Reigns needs to do to beat Goldberg. Nash jokingly says he forgot that he beat Goldberg, and says Roman asked for his advice. He told him that he needs two things: Scott Hall and a cattle prod. After Hall jokes it was "a shocking finish," Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura show up, and Sami says that while everyone loves the nWo, it is time to stop living in the past and start talking about the future: him, Cesaro and Nakamura. He then says that the immediate future is them defeating Braun Strowman and taking back the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber before the three of them getting in the ring. Sami then says that the nWo knows plenty about winning the title, then jokes that Waltman knows how much the belt weights because he carried Nash and Hall's bags for so many years. Waltman takes this as a challenge, and Nash jokes that Sami looks like Seth Rogan after two weeks with the stomach flu. Sami does not find this funny, and says he, Nakamura and Cesaro can drop them in seconds. Nash says they couldn't touch them on their best day, and Waltman says the couldn't do it any day. Nash, Waltman and Hall stand up ready to fight, leading to a stand-off before Sami says their fight will not happen. As Sami, Cesaro and Nakamura leave, Sami says that the nWo wants to fight them to become relevant at their expense, and that he, Cesaro and Nakamura are laser-focused on destroying Strowman at Elimination Chamber. Strowman shows up, and he eventually fends of Cesaro and Nakamura before scaring Sami into fleeing into the ring, where he runs into Waltman. Sami tries to beg Strowman off, then uses Alexa as a human shield as a means of getting away. Strowman throws chairs and tables at Sami, nearly nailing Sami with a chair in the process. Before the next match, Zelina Vega says she has nothing but respect and admiration for how Gable overcomes the odds, and she believes that he could be the next King of the Ring if Andrade was not in the tournament, and unfortunately for him, he is. She says that Andrade will beat him tonight, and that there is no shame in losing to him. She tells him to keep going before calling him a "little guy."

Aleister Black beats Shelton Benjamin.

Backstage, Drake and Renee Maverick are ambushed in the arena boiler room by various Superstars. Bo Dallas gets a schoolkid pin on Drake Maverick to win the WWE 24/7 Championship.

Before the next match, Sami Zayn says tonight is about Shinsuke Nakamura, not the fans, and that Nakamura's opponent's name - which is really Andrew Howard - might as well be "The Miz." He says everyone is in store for a taste of what will happen to The Miz when Nakamura gets his hands on him at Clash Of Champions.

Drake Maverick wins back the WWE 24/7 Championship after a schoolkid pin to Dallas, then fends everyone else off before escaping to the back. Next week: The Undertaker!

"The New" Daniel Bryan shows up. Daniel says it looks like he has a group of people who believe him, because he knows how it looks to everyone else when video footage of Erick Rowan attacking Roman Reigns is produced. He says people think he is guilty by association, but he has said the whole time that he has had nothing to do with this, and while a lot of people may not like him, what he says or his opinions, they cannot say that he is a liar. He says he has never lied to any of the fans, and that he hates liars. Daniel then demands an apology from Roman Reigns not just for accusing him of something he did not do or for Spearing him last week, but also for calling him a liar. Roman Reigns shows up, but he is suddenly attacked from behind by Rowan. Daniel tries to calm Rowan down, but Rowan shoves Daniel to the side before powerbombing Roman into the ring post. Rowan then gets him in the ring and slams him with the Iron Claw. Rowan then takes the microphone and tells Roman that if he thought Daniel Bryan did this, then the joke is on him. He then tells Daniel is worse than everyone else, and that he is nobody's puppet. He dares Daniel to step in the ring with him to show much of a man he is and try to slap him in the face again, then tells Roman Reigns he is proud of all he has done to him and most proud of the pain Roman will feel at Clash Of Champions. Rowan then tosses Roman out of the ring, grabs the steel steps and sends them right into Roman's face before breaking down the nearby announce table. Daniel tries to reason with Rowan but ends up slapping him in the face. Rowan slams Daniel through the commentary table before shouting that nobody tells him what to do ever again. As he says that nobody touches him, two referees show up to get Rowan to head to the back.
