Charly Caruso interviews The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E). Big E says the only revival they respect is the one held under a tent with fire and brimstone. Suddenly, Xavier Woods shows up and says The Revival showed up to get their attention, and tonight, they will come to realize why doing that is not a good thing. Kofi says he feels ready for Randy Orton in a one-on-one match, and says that attempts to get into his head last week failed when he put him through a table before proclaiming that he will leave as WWE Champion. Woods also proclaims that he and Big E will stay SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Drew Gulak retains the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Lince Dorado and Humberto Carrillo. (At the end of the match, Carrillo misses the Aztec Press to Dorado completely, and the referee has to tell Dorado "Shoulders down! Shoulders down!" before counting the winning pinfall.)

SmackDown Live's move to Fox on October 4th - where it is just named Friday Night SmackDown - is advertised.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Bayley and Sasha Banks. Bayley and Sasha say that their intense matches do not scare them, and Sasha says she is back to become a champion while Bayley intends to stay a champion who fights for all the right reasons.

Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode beat Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman to win the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions - despite just forming as a team - after Strowman inadvertently shoves Roode into Seth Rollins, allowing Roode to hit Rollins with the Glorious DDT on Rollins for the win and the titles.

She then says Sasha is the one with the questions to ask and everything to prove, and says she has proven she has had what it takes while stating Sasha does not. She asks Sasha if she is ready, for it does not get any bigger than this, and proclaims that tonight, "The Man" comes around and Sasha will earn a beating.

Bayley retains the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair. During the match, Bayley removes a bottom turnbuckle as the referee is pre-occupied with Charlotte. When Charlotte approaches Bayley, Bayley sends her into the exposed turnbuckle to retain the title.

The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) beat The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) with an inverted Figure Four Leg Lock from Scott Dawson to Xavier Woods's re-injured left knee to become the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions! After the match, Scott Dawson states that the SmackDown tag titles are no longer covered in "proverbial pancake batter," and says that the fans can consider themselves "revived." Wilder states that there will be no more trombones and hip swiveling, and says that "the old school has quieted the new noise." Dawson then announces that Randy Orton will extinguish the flame that Kofi Kingston lit at WrestleMania to become WWE Champion, and that it will be "a new day."

It is revealed that R-Truth and Carmella are moonlighting as camera crew members, and Alexa Bliss grabs the boom mic and rats R-Truth out. Before the next match, Sami Zayn shows up with a neck brace and says he is disgusted with the level of disrespect the fans have shown him, and states that The Undertaker disrespected him when he choke slammed him and injured his neck. He then proclaims that he is still here as the trooper that he is with the man that he "liberated" in Shinsuke Nakamura, who shows up wearing a red cape to the match.

Shinsuke Nakamura retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against The Miz after Sami Zayn distracts the ref following a Kinshasa countered into a Skull Crushing Finale. Sasha throws it down as she argues with the referee, then Becky grabs it and swings it only to inadvertently hit the referee. This leads to Becky hitting Sasha with the chair before Sasha runs into the crowd with Becky giving chase. After a fight on the concourse, Becky Lynch strikes Sasha Banks in the middle of the ring with a steel chair before applying a Dis-Arm-Her to Sasha on the steel chair. Referees and officials have to run into the ring to break the hold.
