Generation NXT - NXT recap for July 10, 2019

Io Shirai shows up with a new theme song and a darker entrance to start tonight's show. Shirai says she does not need any friends or any of the fans, then leaves.

Velveteen Dream holds a press conference. He refuses to reveal who his next defense of the NXT North American Championship will be against, and says that Roderick Strong got lucky and is nowhere near ready enough to experience The Dream one-on-one.

Damian Priest beats Blanco Loco.

We see yet another vignette for Killian Dain.

Jordan Myles beats Boa to advance to the next round of the NXT Breakout Tournament.

Next week: Dexter Lumis vs. Branson Reed in Round 1 of the NXT Breakout Tournament!

In a backstage interview, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler says that Mia Yim has a great - albeit common - story, and that it will take more to impress her, and that it will end like it does with everyone else: Mia Yim tapping out.

We hear from Keith Lee, who says that he has faced freaks, knockout artists and all sorts of people, but he has never been the chosen one. However, he has always been the one that ends up on top. However, the first year did not have the effect he wanted, and that he must make changes for year two to reach the top and become more than what he is. He says that "limitless" won't cut it, and he will be the main event by becoming "infinite."

In footage from earlier today, General Manager William Regal announces that Apollo Crews from SmackDown Live will face KUSHIDA next week.

Next week: Adam Cole defends the NXT Championship!

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. After the match, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly show up on the stage to patronizingly congratulate Street Profits to end the show.
