EVOLVE 131 - 10th Anniversary Celebration - The Results

The introduction to tonight's show quickly de-evolves into everyone attacking each other. Josh Briggs then takes the microphone and says tonight is about opportunity and that he is taking his. He mentions that Anthony Green is standing in the corner, then tells him to get in the ring so they can get started.

Josh Briggs beats Anthony Greene. During the match, Brandi Lauren grabs Josh Briggs' feet from the outside, but she is caught by the referee and ejected from the match.

We hear from The Unwanted (Eddie Kingston, Joe Gacy, Colby Corino, Sean Maluta). Eddie Kingston says that after all the years and miles and not getting paid, they will not let AR Fox and Leon Ruff beat them on the WWE Network, and while the Network viewers may not known them, the Superstars of NXT know him and what he and The Unwanted can do.

Stephen Wolf beats Harlem Bravado, Curt Stallion and Sean Maluta in a Four-Way Freestyle match.

Arturo Ruas (formerly known as Adrian Jauode) beats Anthony Henry.

Brandi Lauren beats Shotzi Blackheart in a no-disqualification match. At the beginning of the match, Natalya Markova shows up and attacks Shotzi, doing Brandi's work for her. Later on in the match, Anthony Greene shows up to assist Lauren, and despite Curt Stallion showing up to fight Greene all the way to the back, Brandi still wins after multiple Kendo stick shots to Shotzi.

Babatunde beats Colby Corino. After the match, Eddie Kingston and Joe Gacy show up, and Eddie introduces The Unwanted (Eddie Kingston, Joe Gacy, Colby Corino, Sean Maluta) before saying that Babatunde make them sick by earning everything just from playing football while they went up and down the road and "did it the right way." Eddie then says that The Unwanted will take his spot just like they did with Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). Suddenly, AR Fox and Leon Ruff show up with Ayla Fox and The Skulk, and take the fight to The Unwanted before they can attack Babatunde. This starts the next match.

AR Fox and Leon Ruff beat The Unwanted (Eddie Kingston and Joe Gacy) in a match contested under relaxed rules to become the EVOLVE Tag Team Champions! After the match, Fox and Ruff celebrate in the ring with Ayla Fox and The Skulk.

Matt Riddle beats Drew Gulak in a match billed as a "Catch Point reunion." after countering the Gu-Lock into the Bro Derek. After the match, Drew Gulak states that Catch Point was founded on competition, opportunity and respect, and that he respects Matt Riddle and that it is always an honor. He then tells Curt Stallion that Matt Riddle hand-picked him as his opponent for EVOLVE 132 tomorrow night, and he hopes that is up to the task.

Brian Idol is the special guest ring announcer for the next match. As Idol keeps clearing his throat, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Idol is suddenly replaced by Paul Heyman. Heyman says he is honored and privileged to be back hom ein Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as he been offered different guest spots for different shows, and he has never done a lot of conventions or other shows. He admits he was not invited to come to the show, as he is known for turning shows down and that he asked to be here tonight because everyone from the fans to the wrestlers to the audience are the future, and he does not want to be like 'one of those old-time boxers looking at the screen and saying "Hey, that was me"' and that he wants to leave the building knowing more about the industry than he did before he entered. He then announces that he will ring announce the next match, because five years from now, people will look back on this match and say that this was the moment that the industry is going to evolve.

Austin Theory beats JD Drake to retain the EVOLVE Championship and become the WWN Champion! After the match, Austin Theory says everyone knows that EVOLVE Wrestling is where it's at and that everyone will try their hardest to get here. He says that those people will chase their dreams and realize that the EVOLVE Championship symbolizes that their dream must go through him if they are to get to where they want to go, for he is the measuring stick and standard of EVOLVE as well as the real Superstar. Suddenly, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Josh Briggs is right behind him. Briggs choke slams Theory in the center of the ring, then holds the EVOLVE Championship in the air before leaving.

Adam Cole retains the NXT Championship against Akira Tozawa. During the match, Adam Cole tries to use the NXT Championship as a weapon, but that fails to happen after Johnny Gargano shows up to distract Adam Cole. Tozawa tries to get the win on a schoolkid pin, but Cole kicks out at two and wins the match to retain the title shortly afterwards. After the match, Johnny Gargano gets in the ring and confronts Adam Cole, but Cole tells Gargano that he is on his time and taht he is the champion. After checking on Tozawa, Gargano asks the fans to show their appreciation for Tozawa, then says that every time he steps back into the EVOLVE ring, he is reminded of why he loves wrestling. He talks about how he was at EVOLVE's first show in 2009, and that now, ten years later, he is back here on WWE network, which tells him two things: he's getting old and that professional wrestling in 2019 is "pretty freakin' cool" because of the fans making professional wrestling what it is. He then talks about how the shows were closed with one specific question, which Tozawa asks: "Did you enjoy the show?" The fans respond with an overwhelming "Yes!", then says there would be no Akira Tozawa, Adam Cole or Johnny Gargano if it were not for the fans, as they started in EVOLVE and the fans let them live their dreams. Gargano then asks the fans to support the current talent in EVOLVE as much as they supported them. Gargano thanks the fans for letting him live his dream and return to EVOLVE, and says that he loves the fans and EVOLVE Wrestling.
