205:Alive - 205 Live recap for July 16, 2019

We hear from Drew Gulak, who states that "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese was viewed as the pinnacle of the Cruiserweight division but lacked a killer instinct. He has rebuilt himself and erased all doubt after Extreme Rules, and wants to know who will step up next in his 205 Live.

Akira Tozawa beats Samir Singh after Sunil Singh's distraction backfires. After the match, Sunil yanks Kendrick off the apron before he and Samir gang up on Tozawa. As Sunil is about to hit Tozawa with his Bollywood award, Kendrick stops him, and Tozawa sends Samir running out of the ring. Tozawa then picks up the Bollywood award and lifts it up.

We see part two of an interview with Humberto Carrillo, who talks about how his career has changed since being signed to WWE and how he is now aiming for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Mike Kanellis beats Jackson James. After the match, Kanellis stomps on Jackson James before throwing him out of the ring, and tells General Manager Drake Maverick to show up and fine him himself. After Maverick shows up, Kanellis says his contract expired two months ago and that he is staying because he wants to win the Cruiserweight Championship and kick Maverick's ass. Maverick tells Kanellis to look in the mirror and take accountability, for he is his own reason for not being where he is and is here for his own agenda. Kanellis responds by mocking Maverick's failure to consummate his marriage, and Maverick says he will not fight him as he is his General Manager. Kanellis tells Maverick he has embarassed the brand, and that he is the real joke. Maverick says he never saw Kanellis as a joke, as he knew that he had potential, but Kanellis says Maverick is only trying to be the bigger man and that he is not even half of a man. Kanellis tells Maverick to go home, beg his wife for forgiveness and prove he is a man, then says he is not a man because a real man doesn't back down, let someone talk down to him or call his wife names. Kanellis is about to call Maverick's wife something when Maverick punches him in the face. Kanellis runs away and stands on the ramp with a smile on his face.

Chad Gable beats "Gentleman" Jack Gallagher. Gable shows respect to Gallagher after the match.
