Smackville - The Results

It is announced that Finn Balor has been battling an undisclosed injury throughout the week, and is therefore not medically cleared to compete.

Shinsuke Nakamura shows up. After stating "No Finn, no match, then I win by forfeit," he asks for the bell to ring. As the referee counts to ten, Ali shows up.

Shinsuke Nakamura retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Ali.

We hear from Samoa Joe, who says that perspective is everything, and instead of walking into a situation where does not have to lose to lose, he is walking into a "target-rich environment" with plenty of guys to beat up, and that he will beat up and take out his opponents tonight to become WWE Champion.

Elias is in the ring for a special performance. After demanding that the volume be turned up on everything, Elias plays his guitar. After asking who wants to walk with him, Elias asks where the standing ovation is, then talks about how he met Johnny Cash in his first visit to Nashville before stating that the Tennessee Titans will never win the Super Bowl. He then plays a song for "his good friend and mentor" Shane McMahon, then threatens to leave when nobody shuts up. As he goes between the ropes and his stool, the crowd alternates between cheering and booing. Elias then plays anyway, but as he praises Shane through song, he gets a phone call from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. After answering the call, he announces that Vince has given him as much time as he likes. Elias then sings about how Shane McMahon will beat Kevin Owens at SummerSlam, then proceeds to make fun of Owens. Suddenly, Owens shows up and the lights turn back on. Owens then plays Elias' electric guitar, then forces Elias to retreat following a punch. He was hoping somebody would cut Elias off, but nobody did and Elias made the mistake of mentioning him. Owens then proposes they have a match right now so he can give a preview of what he will do to Shane at SummerSlam, and that all he needs is a referee to make it official. A referee shows up, and the match is official.

Kevin Owens beats Elias.

Backstage, Sarah Schrieber interviews Kofi Kingston, who says that beating the odds is what he does, but he welcomes the challenge of facing Samoa Joe and Dolph Ziggler as part of his quest to become the best WWE Champion of all time. After tonight, The New Day (Kofi, Big E, Xavier Woods) will be celebrating all around town.

Kofi Kingston retains the WWE Championship against Samoa Joe and Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat Match.
