Maximum Carnage - Dynamite recap for January 14, 2026

Backstage, we hear from Samoa Joe, who calls "Hangman" Adam Page's journey to win back the AEW World Championship "foolishness." He states that he has put out a bounty, and now "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith has posted it. Bryan Keith mentions his last match with Hangman three years ago, then says that tonight is personal and that he is cashing in.

Darby Allin beats PAC by submission with the Scorpion Deathlock. During the match, referee Paul Turner gets squashed as Darby goes for a running back elbow to PAC only to take out Turner. Darby makes PAC tap to the Scorpion Deathlock, but Paul Turner is out. Wheeler Yuta shows up with a metal folding chair, but Darby Allin fends him off and wraps the chair around PAC's left foot before hitting the Coffin Drop on the chair. Darby then gets rid of the chair before putting PAC in the Scorpion Deathlock again. This time, referee Paul Turner comes to, and PAC taps, this time with the referee seeing it.

"Hangman" Adam Page beats "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith after Big Bill tries to attack Hangman on the outside only for Swerve Strickland to show up and choke Big Bill with a chain, allowing Hangman to hit the Buckshot Lariat for the win. After the match, Hangman dares Bryan Keith to claim his bounty now, then says Samoa Joe is not man enough to face him himself. He says that he will take everything from Samoa Joe. Swerve Strickland then warns MJF that if he wins and stays AEW World Champion, then he will have actually lost, for he and Hangman will be coming after him and he plans to become AEW World Champion again. All of a sudden, Kenny Omega shows up and enters the ring, stating that three of the greatest challengers for the AEW World Championship are right here, right now. He says that he, Swerve and Hangman have something to prove, and that he must prove that the nickname of "The God of Professional Wrestling" still means something, and if anyone still believes, then so does he. Omega says he must win a couple of matches first despite being an EVP, and regardless of whether he has to go through friend or foe, he is coming for the title. Hangman says that there are three men who want the AEW World Championship and that it is not a team effort, and if he and Omega cross paths, then hopefully the best man will win. Omega and Hangman shake hands. Hangman and Swerve leave, with Swerve none too thrilled about Omega's sudden appearance in the World title picture, then The Don Callis Family (Don Callis, Lance Archer, Rocky "Azucar" Romero, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) show up. Callis says he has always been a big fan of MJF, but he is questioning MJF's logic of associating with "a scumbag" like Omega. He then challenges Omega to a match with Josh Alexander. Omega admits he can barely hear Callis over the crowd, but if Josh Alexander wants a match with him, then he has a little bit of time tonight to make his record towards the World title more sparkling clean. Callis says that he and Omega have known each other for many years, but reminds him that he does what "Daddy" says and that "Daddy" decides when the matches happen, and says the match will happen next week because what he says goes. As The Don Callis Family leaves, Omega says that today was a very big first step and that the fans have bore witness to phase one of him become AEW World Champion again.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews JetSpeed ("The Jet" Kevin Knight and "Speedball" Mike Bailey), who are suddenly met by Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. Swerve wants to face Speedball one-on-one, and states that Kevin Knight's time will be coming. Swerve and Nana leave, then "Hangman" Adam Page tells JetSpeed that he will take everything from Samoa Joe before telling JetSpeed that the three of them will face The Opps (Samoa Joe, Hook, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata) on Collision.

The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed) are coming soon to AEW.

MJF retains the AEW World Championship against Bandido by submission after reverting from Salt of the Earth to a LeBell Lock as he keeps Bandido away from the ropes. Bandido goes unconscious in the latter hold, and MJF wins and retains. After the match, MJF admits that he laughed when everybody said that Bandido would become AEW World Champion, and that everyone was right about Bandido. He says that Bandido will be World Champion in AEW, which means he has to attack him, which he does. MJF hits Bandido with the World title before punching him, then chases the referee out of the ring before attempting to unmask Bandido. Brody King runs into the ring, and MJF immediately runs to the back. Brody King checks on Bandido and helps him up, then both men celebrate to end the show.

In footage from Instagram, we hear from Eddy Thorpe, who says that he set the bait and Oba Femi took it like he knew he would, and thanks General Manager Ava for giving him a title shot, saying it almost makes up for Ava calling him a liar. He says that all will be well when he is crowned NXT Champion, and says that Oba Femi will be overthrown.

Backstage, Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura meet up with Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Briggs says that he has their attention and tells them "We got next." OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) shows up, and Bronco Nima says they have been chasing the tag team gold and that they will not give it up when they win. This soon leads to a brawl between OTM and the team of Biggs and Inamura.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) as #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) watch from the balcony.

A mystery person is seen arriving at the arena.

Roxanne Perez is in the ring. She says that nobody expected her to hold the NXT Women's Championship for 276 days and defend it nine times, and that all she wanted to do was make history and make a women's division that the fans would be proud of. She calls the NXT women's division the best in the world today, then says that she stands without the Women's Championship because Giulia was the better woman. She congratulates Giulia as well as the fans, as the fans wanted this. Roxanne says that the state of the women's division is now "sad" and that Giulia will not take it to the heights that she did, as without her, the women's division will be lost. She says that NXT and the fans do not deserve her, and says it will not be the same. As she said that this generation only had one horsewoman while a previous one had four, Bayley suddenly shows up. Bayley shows up and says that Roxanne is at a crossroads, and when Roxanne says she does not need Bayley's advice, Bayley says that Roxanne was always taking advice and that the women's division will be fine without her. Roxanne says Bayley sounds like CM Punk and others who have talked to her and is just like everyone else, and that she could basically be Bayley's mentor now. Bayley says that Roxanne will be stuck in her ways while she beats Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship. This leads to a brawl between Bayley and Roxanne as the show ends.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 14, 2019

The show begins with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon coming out of limo. After asking his driver to wash something off near a rear headlight, he heads into the arena.

Braun Strowman shows up. He says that Brock Lesnar will never admit that he has been afraid of him, and that he looked over his shoulder whenever he had a Money In The Bank contract or a Universal Championship opportunity, and kept his title by any means necessary. He tells Lesnar that he is all healed up and that Baron Corbin is no longer in power, and that nobody will be able to save Lesnar from his biggest fear: Strowman taking the Universal Championship from him. Suddenly, Corbin shows up and says that while the people believe in Strowman, he keeps losing to Lesnar. He tells Strowman to give up while he wins the men's Royal Rumble match and goes on to a WrestleMania main event. Strowman chases Corbin to the back, and attacks Sunil Singh while looking for him. He then looks around for Corbin. Meanwhile, Elias is nearby playing a guitar and mocking Corbin through song. Strowman listens to Elias' song, and Elias tells Strowman that Corbin is hiding in a nearby limousine. He kicks a rear view mirror and tosses the driver out, then grabs a pipe and breaks the window. He rips the door out, then a scared Corbin runs out. Strowman tells him he had better run, then he runs into a shocked WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who gets angry with him.

After the commercial break, Braun Strowman tries to fix the limousine door before WWE Chairman Vince McMahon chews him out, calling him "a danger zone" and telling him his destruction will cost him $100,000. Strowman tells him the limo isn't even worth $100,000, and Vince punishes him by taking him out of the Universal Championship match with Brock Lesnar. Strowman responds by toppling the limo after Vince walks away.

Backstage, police officers escort Braun Strowman out of the arena while Baron Corbin laughs.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks beat Nia Jax and Tamina with a Banks Statement to Tamina. After the match, Charly Caruso interviews Ronda and Sasha. Ronda says that she and Sasha trusted each other because they respect each other. She says that beating Sasha will be a great accomplishment as a champion. Sasha takes offense to his, thinking that Ronda is saying she is the only person who can tap people out in the Women's Division. She says she will do it anytime and anywhere, and that she will teach Ronda to lose with class. Ronda tells Sasha to keep her title of "world's classiest loser," but Sasha tells Ronda she is not scared of her and to get used to not having her way when he makes her tap out and takes the Raw Women's title at Royal Rumble. When Sasha leaves, Ronda catches up with her and tries to explain herself, but Sasha has none of it. Ronda chases after her to the back.

Backstage, some Superstars are seen waiting in front of WWE Chairman's Vince McMahon's office when Jerry "The King" Lawler walks out. Suddenly, No Way Jose shows up with his conga line.

Backstage, Natalya and Bayley keep "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks separate. When Ronda and Sasha leave, Bayley and Natalya argue over who started what when The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan) make fun of everyone not getting along while they stick together. Ruby says they like nothing more than taking a bad situation and making it worse, and challenge them to a six-woman tag team match, assuming they can find a partner.

Apollo Crews is interviewed, but he is interrupted by Curt Hawkins, who also wants a shot. EC3 is seen grinning, then The B-Team says the "B" stands for Brock Lesnar. They both leave when asked who will face Lesnar. Heath Slater says he doesn't want to face Lesnar, but Rhyno might.

The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) beat The Lucha House Party (Kalisto and Gran Metalik) after Dash Wilder pushes Gran Metalik's foot of the rope during a pinfall.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon shows up. As soon as Vince McMahon can even speak, John Cena shows up out of nowhere. Cena says he knows what Vince is going to say and do, and that Vince is going to tell someone to step up. He says that while everyone left Vince high and dry, Vince turned to a crew of rejects and misfits and asks somebody to step up. Cena says he was the first to say he would not let him down if he gave him a chance. This led to more chances and missed birthdays and funerals to get to where he is, and he says that to step up is to make this your life. He asks for a chance, and he says he will not let Vince down. He says that he will walk into the men's Royal Rumble match, win the whole thing, and become a 17-time World Champion because he has something others don't: ruthless aggression. Suddenly, Drew McIntyre shows up telling Cena to stop what he is doing right now, and says he does not care for any of Cena's accomplishments before claiming Cena does not have ruthless aggression. He tells Vince that he is what ruthless aggression looks like, and tells Cena "Your time is up," before telling Vince "My time is now." He tells Cena he can leave like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock before him. Baron Corbin shows up, saying his life was threatened earlier tonight by Braun Strowman, and while he does not have a lawyer on speed dial, he can agree with Vince giving him a Universal title match against Brock Lesnar. Finn Balor shows up, saying he is a little tired of being left out of these kinds of conversation, and says that while everyone else can make claims to a lot of things, he is the only one here who held the Universal Championship. Vince says he may hold it again, but there is a lot of beef out here. He says Finn may be a great competitor, but he isn't too sure about Finn Balor's chances. Finn says Vince may never have believed in him, but the people did. He says that nothing he says can change Vince's mind, he might as well show him. He hits Corbin, starting a brawl that ends with McIntyre laying everyone out. Vince makes a Fatal 4-Way match between Cena, Finn, McIntyre and Corbin with the winner facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal title at Royal Rumble.

Backstage, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is met by Jinder Mahal, who wants a shot at the WWE Universal Championship. Vince allows him to pick between John Cena, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre, and if he wins, he takes that man's place at Royal Rumble. Jinder picks Finn Balor. Vince simply tells him "Good luck."

We hear from Lio Rush, who says that it is time for people like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to suffer, as Bobby Lashley is a fighter and the champion the people need. He says that Lashley will become champion whether people like it or not. He tells Rollins and Ambrose to either come correct or don't come at all, as Lashley is coming to collect the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

We look back on the break-up of The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty), courtesy of Glass, in theaters Friday.

Before the next match, Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins, who says this might be his last chance to regain the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He says he will make the most of his opportunity by kicking Dean Ambrose's teeth down his throat. He mentions himself and Dean telling Roman Reigns he didn't have to face leukemia alone shortly before Dean turned on him, and says that while Bobby Lashley has a physique, physique only gets you so far. He says that what matters is what you do bell-to-bell, and he plans to lay it all on the line to take the Intercontinental title back.

Bobby Lashley beats Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion after Lio Rush pulls the top rope down as Seth Rollins goes for The Stomp on Dean Ambrose, allowing Lashley to hit Ambrose with the Spear for the win and the title.

A backstage worker knocks on Alexa Bliss' locker room door with her latte. When she fails to answer, he opens the door and walks in on her getting dressed, much to Alexa's chagrin.

It's time for A Moment Of Bliss. She talks about WWE Chairman Vince McMahon introducing the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, and announces that three teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown Live will compete at Elimination Chamber for the titles. After unveiling the women's tag team titles, she then introduces tonight's guest, Paul Heyman. Heyman says that Brock Lesnar will still be Universal Champion after Royal Rumble, and says that regardless of whom Lesnar faces, he will win. All of a sudden, Otis Dozovic shows up and looks at the women's tag titles. Tucker Knight has to show up and hold Otis back, and a referee and an official have to get Otis to the back.

Cyrus brings greetings from TNN headquarters in "the local vernacular" only to be told by the crowd "you suck dick." Cyrus says that the TNN office was shocked at Gertner's behavior last week, and that he was horrified when he had to cut the audio on his commentary for getting himself over. Thirty minutes ago, a "double-secret" meeting with Cyrus as the chair was held, and he now has a laundry list of things from Gertner that will no longer be , such as the use of dirty middle names to get over, the use of sexual innuendo in general, and smart remarks made towards country and Western music (including The Dukes of Hazzard jokes, Dallas jokes, jokes about inbreeding and references to Garth Brooks and his weight problems), negative remarks about Rollerjam (which leads to a "Rollerjam sucks dick!" chant), and negative remarks towards Rock 'n Bowl. He says there will be abiding to the rules as there is a new sheriff in town, and his name is Cyrus.

He also gives Bill Alfonso a special acknowledgement, as it was a rough night for him as well. Bill Alfonso is seen pressing a towel against his right eye.
