Generation NXT - NXT recap for January 14, 2025

Oba Femi heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Oba Femi says that destiny will always arrive just like he has arrived, and says it is time to take his rightful place on the throne. He says he always believed he could do this because he was backed by destiny. He says that all of NXT belongs to him and that he will rule as he sees fit, and while he gives credit where credit is due to Trick Williams, he says that Trick had a ceiling while he does not. He calls Eddy Thorpe a "piece of work," "a liar," "a deceiver" and "a cockroach that won't die." As he warns Eddy Thorpe not to get in his way again, Tony D'Angelo shows up and congratulates Oba on his victory. D'Angelo then reminds Oba that he has a win over him in three title matches and that he has been the man to beat him, and when they face off for the NXT Championship, he will walk out as "the Double Title Don." Oba compliments D'Angelo on finding his confidence, but tells D'Angelo to mind his own business, especially after Ridge Holland dropped him. D'Angelo says he will handle Ridge when Ridge shows up with his attack on D'Angelo framed as a picture. D'Angelo and Ridge brawl on the outside, and security shows up to restore order. Meanwhile, Oba is attacked from behind by Eddy Thorpe, who wraps a leather strap around his fist to lay Oba out.

Backstage, Oro Mensah and Dante Chen are met by "All Ego" Ethan Page, who brags about sharing a moment with The Rock. Dante Chen says nobody wants Ethan Page in the locker room after he broke Je'Von Evans' jaw. When Page brags about that, this leads to Dante being held back the moment he shoves Ethan. Dante then goes to General Manager Ava to get a match made.

Shotzi Blackheart beats Stephanie Vaquer to become the #1 contender fot the NXT Women's North American Championship after the two of them take out Jacy Jayne only for Fallon Henley to smack Stephanie in the back with the Women's North American Championship.

Backstage, Sol Ruca talks with Kelani Jordan, as does Zaria, who tells Kelani to use her losses as motivation. Cora Jade then shows up to say she will win the North American Women's Championship and that Kelani is the same girl she was before she won the title. Kelani slaps Cora in the face and says she is not the same girl.

Backstage, Oba Femi meets with General Manager Ava, demanding that Eddy Thorpe get a title shot. Robert Stone tells Oba Femi that Eddy Thorpe like a fiddle, but Oba Femi says he is champion and that fi he wants Eddy, he will get him. Ava tells Oba to put Robert Stone down, which he does - literally - before making the match official.

"All Ego" Ethan Page quickly beats Dante Chen. After the match, Ethan Page continues to attack Dante Chen, removing his right boot before proceeding to trap his foot between the ring and the ring steps before kicking at the steps, breaking Dante's foot. Je'Von Evans shows up and fights Ethan Page only to get hit in the jaw.

Backstage, Oba Femi is met by Dion Lennox, who congratulates him on becoming NXT Champion and says he might challenge him one day. Meanwhile, Shawn Spears meets with Adriana Rizzo, who is not in the mood when Izzi Dame shows up and says neither of them need Spears. Spears says "I don't know about that," and leaves. Ashante "Thee" Adonis tells Karmen Petrovic that he is no longer playing games before handing her a rose, which causes Karmen to kiss him.

We see footage of Giulia from New Year's Evil, including from right after she won the NXT Women's Championship.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa). Tommaso Ciampa says they are here for Nathan Frazer and Axiom, and Johnny Gargano says they will step in the ring with them and the world will rejoice. They say that they will be watching tonight to see what they are capable of, and Ciampa says they are not here to cause problems.

Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) beat Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) to become #1 contenders for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.

Backstage, Lexis King is met by Charlie Dempsey and Wren Sinclair. Wren Sinclair demands a rematch between Charlie Dempsey and Lexis King, which General Manager Ava grants, then a brawl breaks out outside between Ridge Holland and Tony D'Angelo.

TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich is seen in the front row.

Cora Jade beats Kelani Jordan after raking Kelani's eyes as the referee gets Kelani out of the corner.

In footage from Instagram, we hear from Eddy Thorpe, who says that he set the bait and Oba Femi took it like he knew he would, and thanks General Manager Ava for giving him a title shot, saying it almost makes up for Ava calling him a liar. He says that all will be well when he is crowned NXT Champion, and says that Oba Femi will be overthrown.

Backstage, Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura meet up with Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Briggs says that he has their attention and tells them "We got next." OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) shows up, and Bronco Nima says they have been chasing the tag team gold and that they will not give it up when they win. This soon leads to a brawl between OTM and the team of Biggs and Inamura.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) as #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) watch from the balcony.

A mystery person is seen arriving at the arena.

Roxanne Perez is in the ring. She says that nobody expected her to hold the NXT Women's Championship for 276 days and defend it nine times, and that all she wanted to do was make history and make a women's division that the fans would be proud of. She calls the NXT women's division the best in the world today, then says that she stands without the Women's Championship because Giulia was the better woman. She congratulates Giulia as well as the fans, as the fans wanted this. Roxanne says that the state of the women's division is now "sad" and that Giulia will not take it to the heights that she did, as without her, the women's division will be lost. She says that NXT and the fans do not deserve her, and says it will not be the same. As she said that this generation only had one horsewoman while a previous one had four, Bayley suddenly shows up. Bayley shows up and says that Roxanne is at a crossroads, and when Roxanne says she does not need Bayley's advice, Bayley says that Roxanne was always taking advice and that the women's division will be fine without her. Roxanne says Bayley sounds like CM Punk and others who have talked to her and is just like everyone else, and that she could basically be Bayley's mentor now. Bayley says that Roxanne will be stuck in her ways while she beats Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship. This leads to a brawl between Bayley and Roxanne as the show ends.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
