Collision Course - Collision recap for January 4, 2024

We hear from Mark Briscoe, Daniel Garcia, The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith), and Rated FTR (Adam Copeland, Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler) at the start of the show.

"Daddy Magic" Matt Menard guests on commentary for the next match.

Daniel Garcia retains the TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe with a jackknife pin.

We hear from Wheeler Yuta, who calls "Switchblade" Jay White a marked man for his interference when Jon Moxley interrupts him. Moxley commends FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) for taking an old-school style and taking it to the next level, then says that they crossed a line interfering in his business and that they paid the price, but had to create a whole new mess by bringing in Adam Copeland. Moxley calls Copeland a legend and a perennial champion who has defied the laws of nature to come back to a cruel new world, and says that is his world, survival comes at a cast and that FTR and Copeland must evolve into something new to survive. He then warns that there is nothing good for them in this new world, which he calls "Hell on earth."

Jeff Jarrett quickly beats Aaron Solo.

We see a video package chronicling the feud between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet.

Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Lio Rush and Action Andretti following interference from Dante Martin.

We see a video package chronicling The Death Riders' (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir) latest actions.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Adam Copeland. Copeland says that whoever attacks his friends has a problem, then makes it clear to Jon Moxley that he is an eleven-time world champion and it is time to make it "a dirty dozen" and wear the title around his waist. Chris Jericho shows up and says that he became a world champion while Copeland was gone, and Copeland says that they have a history together and have not faced each other in fifteen years. Jericho says he only remembers Copeland getting hurt all the time, and Copeland says that he only remembers Jericho for being an asshole. Copeland leaves, then Jericho says "Cope is a dope."

Toni Storm beats "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo with an inside cradle after knocking Taya Valkyrie off the ring apron.

In backstage footage from Dynamite, Christopher Daniels tells "Hangman" Adam Page that he could be World Champion and that he believes in him, but Hangman says he only sees an old man clinging to a sport that left him behind a long time ago. After saying that Daniels would have hung it up five years ago if he had not lost his mind to old age, Hangman slaps him. Daniels then attacks Hangman from behind and repeatedly headbutts him until he bleeds, then proceeds to repeatedly stomp on him.

In backstage footage from Dynamite, Anthony Bowens blames "Platinum" Max Caster for his loss. Max Caster calls The Hurt Syndicate's (MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley) attack "cowardly" before Bowens tells Caster he got what he deserved after pissing him off for months to the point that "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn does not want to deal with him. Bowens says he has not punched Caster in the face beause Billy Gunn asked him not to.

"The Machine" Brian Cage beats Dante Martin, The Beast Mortos and Komander in a $100,000 High Speed Collision 4-Way Match.

Backstage, we hear from FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson). FTR makes amends for spike piledriving Ricky Morton when The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) show up wanting a rematch with The Rock 'n Roll Express after what happened in 1982. Both The Outrunners and The Rock 'n Roll Express also end up making amends.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Adam Copeland beats The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) in a trios match. After the match, Copeland gets on the microphone, but Jon Moxley shows up on the video screen holding The Rock 'n Roll Express hostage. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) come to the rescue, but are jumped by Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, who escape with Moxley before FTR and Copeland free The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson).

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
